I'm the co-owner of Ghost Label Video. We are a film production company. We offer all aspects of production: writing, storyboards, film, editing, animation..etc. We film mostly TV commercials, online marketing ads, and internal communications videos.

We hired Ember Frame for video editing and animation work.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The owner is a friend but also the quality of work that Ember Frame does is exactly what we needed for the projects we hired them for.

We needed an animated explainer video for one of our clients and at the time we did not have capacity to animate it ourselves. We trusted Ember Frame with the animation while we directed and produced the project. We worked in the following structure.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked directly with Michael, the owner of Ember Frame. We did a kickoff meeting to talk about the project. After that we scheduled on a calendar each phase of the production and agreed on the turn around time for each phase.

Michael was very easy to work with and if we or the client suggested something that didn't make sense for the animation he would offer up helpful alternative solutions. All of this was in the spirit of making the final product better, which we appreciated.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The client was pleased with the final product and were able to share it with their internal team to use as a training module.

Michael prepared every aspect within the agreed upon scope of work and presented it to use every time for approval at each phase of the production. We used Vimeo review, gmail, Gchat, and a google calendar so everyone involved could keep track of the progress of the product. Michael was very responsive any time we had a question during each phase.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Ember Frame would take our ideas and elevate them or expand on them in ways that improved the end results. Communication was really easy with Ember Frame.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Michael did everything we asked of him and then some.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found Ember Frame via Linked In. We chose them because we liked the artists style, and they were able to work with our budget and schedule.

We needed a logo animation, and additional explainer animations for a short corporate production. We searched Linked In for companies that specialized in the style we wanted. Then we requested a call, during which Michael explained the pre production, production, and delivery process in detail. We signed them the following day.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with Michael. The process was fairly simple. We had a basic idea of what we wanted to do. We provided samples of how we envisioned the project with a few reference links of similar ideas. He sent us style frames prior to animation so that we could make any changes we wanted. After a few tweaks, we received a link for our completed video.

Ember Frame excels in communication and explanation. If ever we were confused about part of the process or why something wasn't working the way we'd expected, Michael was able to resolve our concerns.

To manage this project we relied primarily on email. However they introduced us to Frame.io which sped up and clarified the review process.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Because they have been successful with a wide range of businesses, their ability to understand what we needed was something that we were grateful for. There was never a time that we felt like the project wasn't going to turn out well.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

For our project everything went very well.

We needed a TV spot, a reel, and short form social spots to launch our company.

I came to Ember Frame after seeing their outstanding reel and reaching out. Their responses were fast, professional, and personal, and he was pleasant to talk with over email and then on the phone.

We talked about the script, made a shot list, then went about gathering the footage - some we had already, other we created together. Post-production was a breeze, too! Had a rough cut quickly, took notes well, and delivered the goods!

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We had notes on the pacing and shot choices, and he took them and implemented them without a hitch. No egos or problems, just smooth as peanut butter!

The videos we made have been immediately used to launch our company and make our presence known!

I only wish we had more money to make more videos to keep working together!
