CEO, Runwell

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Mar 15, 2023

**Feedback Summary**: EL Passion has brought the client’s product to life in a scalable way, helping them raise funds and receiving positive feedback from users. The team is professional, knowledgeable, caring, and trustworthy, leveraging Figma, Slack, Google Meet, and Jira to communicate. Moreover, they’re efficient.
"“They don’t only look after their needs; they also look after our needs.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CEO of Runwell. We’re developing a workspace tool for the hospitality industry to simplify health and safety for those within that industry.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

Originally, we hired them to help us develop the workspace we wanted to create.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, we provided EL Passion with a description of the workspace we wanted and a few design sketches, and they helped us create a progressive web app (PWA) based on our input. Since then, they’ve kept working with us as our development team. We’re in charge of the designs and the logic behind our product, and they’re in charge of developing the user stories and the functionality. As for the technology stack, they use Node.js and React Native.

What is the team composition?

We work with eight full-time developers and an Agile project manager from EL Passion. Their team includes backend developers, frontend developers, and DevOps engineers.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

We used Clutch to find a partner and found a review of a local company that had a similar project with a different service provider. We contacted this reviewer and asked them about that service provider, and they told us that they had switched to EL Passion and provided us with their contact information. We had also seen reviews for EL Passion on Clutch, and we saw that their rating was great.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around €600,000 (approximately $638,000 USD). Recently, we scaled up EL Passion’s team, so we’re now spending more money. Still, our investment has been under €1 million (approximately $1 million USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started our conversations with EL Passion around March 2021, but we started the project in October 2021. Our partnership is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Thanks to EL Passion, we now have a product to sell. Additionally, they’ve created its user flow in a way that makes its scalability possible, and they’ve created a backend that allows us to add new features to increase our offer to the market.

Overall, we’re very happy with the product that EL Passion has created for us. This product has allowed us to raise funds and launch it to the public. Moreover, we’ve received very good feedback from the market. Our partnership has been great and more than what we originally expected.

How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve been very happy with EL Passion’s project management; they’ve delivered their work on time. Occasionally, we do revisions of our billing, but we haven’t found any issues or overages. Additionally, whenever EL Passion founds an issue, they let us know that they’ll fix it. Their team is very professional, and we work very well together.

Moreover, EL Passion’s communication is great. They’re very open and transparent, so even when we work from different countries, we feel like we can trust them. We’ve even gone to Warsaw to visit them in person, which was great.

As for collaboration tools, we use Jira to communicate and manage the project. We also have a Slack channel with EL Passion’s team, and they have access to our Figma files. In addition to that, we also have frequent check-ins and product demonstrations over Google Meet.

What did you find most impressive about them?

EL Passion is very technologically competent and has a great English domain, so we can communicate very efficiently. Something that has really impressed us about them from the start has been that they don’t only look after their needs; they also look after our needs. For example, whenever we’ve requested something, they’ve provided us with third-party solutions that would be cheaper to implement than developing the solutions from scratch.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Our product is a bit different than what EL Passion is used to, so it has been challenging for them. Still, they’re very open to feedback and continuously improving. If anything, it would be great if we had a clearer perspective on the project management aspect of their work. Aside from that, we’re very happy with their work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

A good level of trust is important, so build up that trust. Additionally, it’s important to work with EL Passion on exploring different solutions instead of always providing them with the solution you want; they’re very open to discussions, so you’ll leverage their knowledge.

Additionally, beware that EL Passion is a little bit more expensive than other companies in Poland. However, they’re worth the extra cost because their turnover is very low. They focus on quality and are very engaging.

**The Review** — Dec 16, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: EL Passion's team has pleased the client with their performance. They've integrated into the client's team in meaningful ways and helped them build several features for their product. Moreover, the client has lauded the vendor's attention to detail, effective workflow, and accessible communication.
""They really listen when we describe our needs and work hard to get us the resources that will provide what we need.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the Senior Director of User Experience for Betterworks. We produce software for performance management, targeted at HR professionals and managers, to help improve their workforce.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

We have have a number of projects that needed detailed attention from experienced UX designers. Our staffing level was not sufficient for handling the additional work, so El Passion has provided additional UX designers.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We found them on Dribble, searching for firms that were strong on B2b + analytics. We then conducted detailed design reviews and interviews.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Our project is an application for performance management, and contains many different modules. Target users are:

Admins (super admins, admins, and HR admins) who set up the system for their organizations, and schedule HR process
Managers who track their employees' performance and improve their organization by having regular conversations with their people and are given insights into their employees' comments and performance
Individual contributors who track goals, and provide feedback and recognition to each other.
El Passion designers have worked on a large variety of project areas, including Goals, Conversations, Feedback, Analytics, Engagement surveys, 1:1 meetings, email messaging, and more. They have also contributed to projects that integrate with other systems such as GMail, MS Teams, Outlooks, LinkedIn Learning, Udemy, and more. El Passion designers have participated in all stages of our design process:

initial ideation
	early designs
	user research
	high-fidelity final designs
	usability testing
tracking and reviewing through the implementation process
They have used design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and Invision. (They heavily participated in our conversion from using Sketch to Figma.) They have used our internal project tools such as Aha! and Jira, as well as documentation tools such as Google Docs and Confluence.

The El Passion designers work in close collaboration with the Product Management team and the developers in the Engineering team. Additionally, they are part of our larger UX team and contribute to design libraries and help to assure consistency across all parts of the system.

They are also active participants in our internal design review process, and often suggest improvements in our process and designs. Having a team in Poland has worked well for us because we have a significant presence in India, both PMs and Engineering. Having a team closer in time to the India team has made supporting India much easier for us.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Generally we have had 2 senior designers on our team throughout our engagement with El Passion. Additionally, we work with their project managers to assure that we are getting the quality and quantity of work we need, and that all is well with the designers working on our team.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We are extremely pleased with the results from our El Passion teammates. They have integrated themselves into the team in meaningful ways, and have delivered many successful features in our product.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. They use Slack the way we do, which is extensively given that we are a fully remote company. They also use our other tools (email, Jira, etc) to communicate. This is particularly important because the rest of the UX team is 6-9 hours away, so we need to be very efficient. They have also adapted their work hours to us, so often work later hours to accommodate.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their attention to detail. We have regular meetings with the project managers, and they are very attentive to any situations that need addressing. They really listen when we describe our needs and work hard to get us the resources that will provide what we need.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We had a bit of a rough patch with one of our designer slots when someone left the team and the person who filled in really didn't meet our needs. They were a bit short-staffed so we had a gap in coverage for a short time. But since then they have provided excellent resources to our team.

- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Dec 12, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: EL Passion has developed a functional web application that has become the client’s most successful channel for their new service. Their ability to understand the client’s needs and deliver fast results within the agreed-upon budget sets them apart.
"“The software functions according to our expectations, and working with them has been a great experience.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the director of UX and software development at Polaroid. We make instant cameras and instant film, among other things. We recently started a new product line with Bluetooth speakers, and I’m responsible for the companion apps and digital services.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We had a tight deadline for the hardware launch of our Bluetooth speakers. We didn’t have enough internal bandwidth to complete one of the web applications on time, so we engaged EL Passion.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve worked with EL Passion on various projects. For this project, they exclusively helped us with software development and implementation, so we didn’t have a discovery phase. We brought them in after we created the designs and knew what we wanted. They built the web application from scratch and helped us launch it.

The service is called Polaroid Radio, enabling users to stream five of our radio stations. It also shares pictures and background information regarding the curators of each station. It also promotes our hardware speakers and music application. We host the tool, but EL Passion still helps with maintenance.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with one part-time developer, a senior developer, and a part-time agile project manager.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

Our CEO was familiar with the CEO of EL Passion, so that’s how we found them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around €8,000 (approximately $8,500 USD) in this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in July 2022, and we launched the tool in September 2022, but the partnership is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The software that EL Passion has built is our most successful channel for this service. I’m thankful they’ve been able to help us so quickly. The software functions according to our expectations, and working with them has been a great experience. The product is super solid and reliable, which is good. We have our own QA process and found very few bugs during the testing phase.

How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

At the beginning of the project, I provided an overall budget and timeline without detailing a specific scope, and they estimated the amount of work feasible. Ultimately, they delivered everything within our desired timeframe.

During development, I directly communicated with the developer, who immediately grasped what I wanted. The team was easy to work with and understood my needs perfectly. They used Jira for the user stories and sent monthly invoices, making it easy to track progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with EL Passion’s ability to deliver a high-quality service with minimal briefing and guidance. Furthermore, although we went through a few iterations, they delivered on our asks without exceeding the budget.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have nothing EL Passion could improve on.

Co-Founder & CPO, Cybersecurity SaaS Platform
- Industry: Other industries

- Client size: 1-10 Employees
- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Mar 10, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: EL Passion successfully delivered a product that the client was able to sell to customers. They excelled in their technical capabilities — the team was thorough, prompt, and communicative. Everything was done on time and within budget, and overall, they made the process easier for the client.
""They understood what we were building and used their judgment to go ahead. We didn’t need to micromanage them.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the co-founder and CPO of a cybersecurity SaaS platform. We’re an early-stage startup; our platform helps our clients manage cybersecurity roadmaps and executes them so they can secure themselves for more business.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We used EL Passion for design and software development resources for a web application.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired EL Passion for two services. The first one was UX/UI design. We worked with Patrycja (Product Designer), who effectively helped us design the first two minor versions of the products. We initially gave her the scope, and then she went to do the mock-ups in Figma. We had a back and forth to provide feedback until we got the version to sign off on.

The second service was frontend design. Julia (Software Developer) took the designs that we did with Patrycja and implemented them in our frontend technology. She also migrated our frontend stack to a more modern technology stack. One of the deliverables she handed over to us was a new frontend version of our platform.

They used Figma for the design. We originally were on Create React App, but we migrated to Next.js, which is also a React stack. Additionally, they advised that we move away from our design framework to Tailwind CSS and custom components.

What is the team composition?

Patrycja and Julia were full-time staff, and they had a manager working with them who only spent a couple of hours a week on our project. We also had a project manager working full-time.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

We found them via Dribbble and partnered with them because their content was good. We also looked at their Clutch reviews. My first point of contact was Piotr (Project Leader), and from day one, they were very professional, flexible, and quick to respond and act. With other designers, we had to follow up with them, and they weren’t as flexible or quick to respond.

What is the status of this engagement?

The kick-off was in December 2021, and the project ended in March 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We managed to design and release a beta version of the product, which we now have used to start onboarding customers. In summary, EL Passion got us a platform that we could actually sell to customers, which is a big success.

Moreover, the quality of the work was incredibly great. They were very thorough, and the team did their due diligence, including a lot of extra research to make sure they were doing the right thing. There wasn’t anything to complain about their technical capability; it was excellent. In that sense, we haven’t experienced any issues with the platform.

How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

To be fair, it wasn’t a scoped project, as we brought them in as part-time members of our team. However, the project management was great in general. The only bottlenecks and hurdles that they experienced were from our end. Quite often, they waited on us to hand over the work. EL Passion’s team was very communicative, even when they had hurdles on stuff we needed to work on. Also, they made it easy for us to keep track of the project, follow up, and implement it. Everything was delivered on time and within budget.

We used GitHub for project management and had a separate Microsoft Teams channel to post questions. Also, we had a weekly catch-up meeting with different members of their team to make sure we were all aligned and going in the right direction.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We really enjoyed how easy they made the whole process. Both Patrycja and Julia took ownership of what they were working on — they understood what we were building and used their judgment to go ahead. We didn’t need to micromanage them; we could hand them the project and know they’d work towards our goal.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There wasn’t anything to improve on; they handled the engagement well.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give them the flexibility to make important decisions. For example, we weren’t experts in frontend development or design, so instead of imposing a standard of how we wanted things to be done, we let them set the tools they wanted to use. It set us up well.

**Feedback Summary**: Users responded positively to the app's improved UI/UX. Hands-on and organized, EL Passion utilized Trello and Figma to collaborate with the client and stay on track. Their focus on customer satisfaction was reflected in their flexibility, attentiveness to the client's needs, and valuable insights.
""EL Passion was very focused on client success and making sure that we were happy at all times.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm the CEO and founder of a recruitment platform built to disrupt traditional tech recruitment. Our platform helps companies hire better and faster, without compromising quality.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion, and what were your goals?

We hired EL Passion to help us build our product (web application) from scratch. We had been testing a simple MVP in the market for over one year when we started the collaboration and had very specific goals that we wanted to achieve. We hired EL Passion to do both UI/UX design and front-end+back-end development.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We got EL passion referred from a partner in Norway that had good previous experience working with them. We started out with a smaller website re-design project, and based on the positive experience we got from that project, we decided to partner up with them for our big project. We checked other vendors in the market, but no one was able to convince us to switch.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We started out with a product workshop in 2020 where we discussed the business, our goals, the research, and mapped out the scope of work that needed to be then.

After that, we started a 4 month UI/UX design phase where the goal was to deliver wireframes and UI designs for all web application screens. After UI/UX design was finished, we got a team of four developers (2x front-end and 2x back-end) that was going to take the product from design to production.

We had a dedicated team of devs that built the platform from scratch over the next 8 months. We ended up building the product with Javascript, React.js and Node.js. The goal was to deliver a production-ready web application with mobile screens (responsive) before the end of 2021.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We had one account manager, one project manager, one senior UI/UX designer (4 months), one senior front-end, one mid-level front-end, one mid-level back-end, and one senior back-end (8 months).

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The product has just been launched and we have not been able to measure quantitative data yet. On the other hand, we have managed to gather a lot of positive qualitative data from the users. They are reporting a much better interface and a better user experience. Internally, we've also received a lot of good feedback and the product has proven to be very successful so far.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

During the design phase (4 months), we had weekly stand-ups with the designer and the project manager. We were actively using Trello for planning tasks and communicating async. We also collaborated async in Figma which made it very easy for me as a product owner to provide instant feedback.

During the development phase (8 months), we started out with weekly stand-ups to report on the status and to demo new features. After a period of time, we moved over to only meeting bi-weekly for demos as the team was already very involved and there were not a lot of things that needed clarification or elaboration.

In addition, I've also had close contact with our account manager and he has been supporting me with everything needed outside of the bi-weekly stand-ups. We've been collaborating in Jira and it has been easy for me to take an active role in the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

EL Passion was very focused on client success and making sure that we were happy at all times. They are accommodating and flexible if needed, and will do everything it takes to create a positive outcome.

I also value the fact that their software developers and designers are product-minded and personally involved in the projects. They just don't do as they are told but come with ideas, suggestions, and improved solutions.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

In general, I'm very happy with the collaboration. We've been working with them for a long period of time and on a big project. There are always things that can be improved when you look back but the total outcome is very positive and I'm surprised how seamless the collaboration has been. I was expecting a lot more frustrations, delays, budget increases, and so on, but that has not been the case with EL Passion.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We looked for someone with great experience and renowned for professionalism. Even though the price quoted by El Passion wasn't the lowest one, we were positive that it will be great value for money.

El Passion carried out the audit itself

Step by step redesign of key booking screens
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I had a pleasure to work with a wonderful, highly motivated team of 4: two UX specialists (senior+junior), a Designer and an Account Manager.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I'm fully satisfied with the results of the project. Findings from the UX audit provided us with food for thought for coming months. It was detailed, covered all the aspects I requested and was delivered in a client-friendly manner. The redesign results are also outstanding. It was well-thought, thorough, leaving hardly any doubts regarding further implementation.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

All went smoothly. We used planned and impromptu calls, mails, slack and figma comments. I felt well informed but not cluttered. El Passion responded promptly to all my questions and any workflow/process changes that I requested were met with understanding.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Professionalism! I really felt that I'm in good hands. I could do my product management role and don't worry about anything.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

If there was any room for improvement, I could communicate it strait away and we fixed it immediately.

EL Passion had exhibited proactiveness and thoroughness for the project, ending up in a project they are proud of. The vendor is also easy to communicate with and have set expectations well.
""We were very pleased with the suggestions and proactiveness from our designer.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a product manager at TenantBase. We are an online marketplace to connect businesses with brokers and help businesses lease/buy commercial real estate.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

We had previously created profile pages without the help of a designer. It was time to give these pages a redesign as we have plans to deeply integrate them into the rest of our platform now. We hired El Passion to take our ideas from wireframe concepts to a professional and polished web design.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We have used El Passion in the past for other projects and have had a good experience working with them.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We started with a kickoff meeting explaining the project - including the opportunity, wireframes, and inspirations for our intended designs. After the initial kickoff meeting, our designer, Mateusz, spent time researching concepts and learning about our business goals. It's worth mentioning that at this point, our company had also just completed a brand refresh and I handed him the new brand guidelines a few days after we started the project. He was able to quickly adapt and make all of the proposed designs match our new guidelines.

Together with his hard work, this made the pages really stand out and look very professional. About every other day we would meet to review and give feedback on the latest iterations. Mateusz was very proactive in providing suggestions and his own design opinion for these concepts, most of which were adopted in the final versions. The project went so smoothly that we finished our scope of work ahead of time, and we were even able to address other small items that were really nice to have as assets to consider using in the future.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked with two people, a project manager and a designer.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have not implemented these designs yet, but we are excited to do so. Their documentation is very thorough and I expect it to be very smooth handing this over to our development team.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project manager Arek was easy to communicate with and set expectations well. We all had virtual calls and communicated through Slack often. Overall this worked well and there were no communication issues.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were very pleased with the suggestions and proactiveness from our designer. He took our wireframes and transformed them into pages that we're very proud of and I think they will have a tremendous impact on our business once implemented.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I have no critiques, I'm very happy with how this project turned out.

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm a project manager in a software company. We're delivering a practice management system for doctors

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion, and what were your goals?

We wanted to allow the doctors using our software to check the status of the insurance of their patients on the Polish governmental platform. Since the functionality was country-specific, we didn't want to use our developers, who normally work on the issues related to the whole of the product.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The vendor was referred by another manager in my company. The initial meeting went very well and I was impressed by their direct approach and professionalism

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

After the kick-off we delivered the designs in Figma. The team got right down to working and every week we were able to see progress on their demos. We received the whole codebase in Ruby along with the Docker container to be deployed in your infrastructure, as agreed.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We were assigned 2 developers and one project facilitator, who made sure that the work goes on smoothly.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After half a year ofter delivering the feature we know that the customers use it and very rarely come to us with issues. The vendor is always quick to come back with a solution should any problems arise.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

The project facilitation by Miłosz was superb. We were always very well informed about the state of the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I really loved the weekly demos and extensive communication from the vendor.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

In the first few days the team spent a lot of time on an issue that could have been fixed easily by contacting the provider of the platform. When I pointed that out our bill was corrected accordingly without issues

""EL Passion showed us utter expertise and professionalism from the get-go."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the CEO and co-founder of MindMatch, a teaching and learning platform. We match students with teachers who conduct tutoring sessions, depending on the student's learning preferences.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We needed their team to develop and design our MVP, which was a web-based learning platform.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We launched our business at the height of the pandemic last 2020. It also served as our response to the situation, since students had no choice but to stay indoors and cancel their face-to-face classes. However, our internal team didn't have the ability to create our MVP, so we needed EL Passion's team to bring our ideas to life.

We started by designing a prototype for our MVP based on our combined ideas. We then had a two-day workshop with EL Passion to plan the user personas and the flow of our platform. Upon wrapping up the conceptualization phase, we decided to proceed with the development of our MVP: a web-based app that suggests a tutor based on the preferences of parents for their children while keeping their information confidential. Additionally, EL Passion integrated a feature that allowed parents to rate the performance of a tutor after each session.

What is the team composition?

We worked with about six resources from EL Passion from the conceptualization to the implementation phase.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

EL Passion was referred to me by a colleague. We liked their proposal, which included a detailed report of cost and timeline projection, so we were happy to hire their team.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent less than $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The workshop ran from October–November 2020, while the design and implementation stages ran from January–April 2021. We're still doing maintenance and bug fixes, but our product is live as of writing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

EL Passion created a well-designed and user-friendly platform for us. They listened to our preferences and ideas, so our collaboration resulted in a web app that works seamlessly. Our involvement in the initial phases of the project also helped us come up with an MVP that we truly like, so not a lot of adjustments were made before the product launch.

How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Slack to communicate, while Figma and Jira were our main project management tools. EL Passion was always on time during our meetings, and they always imparted productive ideas that furthered the development of our MVP. I particularly liked how they made an effort to educate us on matters concerning our product and what it took to develop it.

What did you find most impressive about them?

EL Passion had the capacity to identify our needs and bring their expertise to the table to help us achieve those. They were a flexible and knowledgeable team, and we had a pleasurable collaborative working experience with their team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were certainly no areas that needed improvement. EL Passion showed us utter expertise and professionalism from the get-go.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Be open to communicating your ideas with EL Passion, and give them the freedom to share theirs as well. Treating them as a partner and not just a vendor will also help you make the most of the engagement.

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

Head of Delivery & Co-Founder of a software development company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

One of our clients, SEEEN, approached us for support with their branding project. As, at that time, we were understaffed but didn’t want to miss a great opportunity.

We reached out to EL Passion for design support and were quickly offered a designer who was onboarded to the project.

What were your goals for this project?

To build a quality brand book for a video monetization platform.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select EL Passion?

We have an understanding between a group of software houses where we support each other in terms of resources when one of us is understaffed. When we realized we need experienced designers, we immediately thought of EL Passion.

Describe the project in detail.

SEEEN is an automated video-processing and metadata generation platform. The company had recently rebranded from its former name EAI, and didn’t have any of its brand assets set up, other than the logo, which had already been created by an independent designer.

We created a brand book for the company including a range of visual assets.

What was the team composition?

The team featured product designers and illustrators.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Coupled with the client’s own communications guidelines featuring the form of language used and the communications style, SEEEN was ready to send its brand into the world and has since been working on honing its offer to customers.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The cooperation was smooth; there weren’t any communication issues throughout the project. We were on the same page and delivered the project efficiently.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The fact that they were able to supply us with a designer at such short notice in a time when we were in need of resource.

Are there any areas for improvement?

None that I can think of. The project was short, and EL Passion did everything by the book.

For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion, and what were your goals?

Our goal was to bring together all completely separate newonce services into one coherent product, and transform it into a seamless and engaging experience for all types of content newonce offers. We hired El Passion to do exactly that - from UX&UI design to custom software development.

How did you select EL Passion and what were the deciding factors?

We found them through thorough market research. It came down to 5 vendors that we've had meetings with. At the end something clicked with El Passion and after workshops we decided to go along with our partnership.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The scope of work included:

discovery workshop,
	key unknown huge features research,
	ux/ui testing,
	ux/ui design,
custom software development - building a connected ecosystem of two media outlets (backoffice, user data base),
quite a few api integrations (radio stream provider, podcast hub),
crazy content migration (over 8000 articles from previous sites),
data scraping (over 16 million music records from external database)
and content sync automations resulting in parts of the platform building itself, giving more room to content creators to focus on what’s more important, which is to create.
As for technologies, this was/is our stack: Client app: 1 Next.js 2 React + Typescript 3 SWR + axios 4 CSS modules 5 Jest + React Testing Library 6 Storybook 8 TWA for Android, React Native for iOS Mobile apps are hybrid apps, where content is viewed as webview. Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

We worked with scrum - 2 weeks sprints - with sprint refinements, groomings, plannings, demos, retrospectives. Our communication tools included: Slack, Linear, Notion.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team was super agile. In the times of coronavirus we had to change scope, stop working for some time and then get back to it - and we've managed to adapt super quickly.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The quality of work was great, but there is always room for improvement. I think the communication between UX/UI designers and the development team could be a bit better and it would save us some time.

**Feedback Summary**: Users responded well to the improvements, meeting the internal team’s expectations. EL Passion excelled in communication and scheduling, allowing for an effective workflow. The team was composed of knowledgeable designers that delivered beautiful designs to a complicated product.
""It was an efficient and pleasant collaboration, from the first point of sales to product delivery."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am CTO at Tooler AS / Sharefox based in Oslo, Norway. We provide the Sharefox ecommerce platform focused on rental business models to customers accross sectors (sport equipment, industrial equipment, etc.). I am responsible for product & infrastructure development & delivery

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

We had to redesign our Admin Orders module which is used by our customers on a daily basis. Previously it was in the MVP stage with minimal design and functionality. We had to step it up with latest design, improved features and to include feedback from our customers.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted a clean and professional design combined with adding key important features based on our customer feedback.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select EL Passion?

We were impressed by the quality of their work from the first interaction - a simple advertising in an email newsletter with links to their case studies - and through every step of selecting them as a supplier.

We saw they had what it needs to deliver design for an SaaS service.

Describe the project in detail.

The process was very professional. We had perhaps 1-2 discovery calls, information architecture discussions, UX & UI cleanup sessions, styling recommendations & component design which touched beyond our Orders module, as a starting point.

We then proceeded with wireframing & designing the new functionality that had to be embeded in the next version of our Order module. After a few customer feedback sessions, we refined design again.

What was the team composition?

We had a dedicated designer, Jakub, who took the lead for the whole process. The sales representative / account manager, Tomasz, was overseing the entire project, with touch points at the right time.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

It is a bit too early to have metrics showing results of the project. However, all customer feedback was very positive, both from existing customers and during sales discussions or demos.

Some of the features designed together were required for new sales instances, so that was a success.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very effective. Perfect flow from scheduling, communcation, managing expectations point of view. We used mainly Slack for work delivery communication, frequent presentation & feedback calls, email eg. for scheduling topics, all with right tempo.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Two things really: The way of working and the quality of the product delivered. It was an efficient and pleasant collaboration, from the first point of sales to product delivery.

Design was awesome and designer was very knowledgeable. I was amazed at his ability to handle high product complexity while still delivering beautiful design.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I am sure we could find tiny improvements here and there, but nothing that stands out, and the overall project was just great.

- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Nov 4, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: EL Passion carefully considered the project goals and was able to completely transform the platform. As a result, the site is easier to use, which increased the number of job postings considerably. They scoped the project well, helping them meet difficult timelines.
"“They see the bigger picture and really want the solution to succeed.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and CEO of one of the largest Nordic startup job boards. We specialize in supporting early stage growth companies with various challenges including hiring, fundraising, and finding their first customer.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We had some difficulties on the platform. We received feedback that it wasn’t intuitive and, as a result, we had a high bounce rate. People were starting to post jobs but weren’t able to complete the posting because of UI/UX issues. On top of that, we had pretty outdated branding especially with our landing page.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They helped us transform the entire user flow on the website to make is easier to list a job and checkout. They use React Native, React, and JavaScript to develop the platform as well.

They also completely redesigned the home page of the platform, and provided us with a new logo, additional assets, and new fonts. We had a lot of ideas, and although they followed our instructions to some extent, we let the use their creative freedom to expand on our ideas.

We started with a scoping session where I flew down to Poland. We did a 2-day workshop with the team to map out all the requirements and make sure everyone was aligned on our goals, our mission, and what we were trying to solve.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with 2-3 developers including front- and backend, two UX designers, and their creative director.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

I was considering hiring a single person to take care of all of this but I realized that I had some very difficult design requirements. I figured I’d try an agency instead. I met about 15 different companies from five different nations over a two-month period.

Their CEO made a really good impression on me. We had a very good meeting and their presentation was better than all the others. I had a very good understanding of their design skills based on their Behance and Dribbble profiles.

Compared to the other companies I considered, they seemed way more professional and top quality. I also spoke to a few of their clients that have used them in the past. It seems like everyone was super happy with the outcome. They’re not the cheapest but you don’t get high quality for the lowest buck either.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent €35,000 (approximately $42,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January-February 2020. We’re still paying for their services. It’s not to the same extent since they completed the first project. The work is ongoing though.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They completely transformed the way jobs are published on the platform. As a result, we’ve seen a 45% increase in the amount of jobs published on the platform. The platform is up-to-date and features all the new services we’ve introduced over the last three years. Everything is clear on the website now. We’ve done a survey and our users think the new design is more user-friendly.

How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

They set very realistic deadlines and were able to meet them. The scoping session was set up in a way to make sure every single detail was covered and we would have a very accurate estimation.

We use Jira to plan, estimate, and execute sprints and Slack. We also have Figma and Zeplin to collaborate in real time.

On top of that, they had to handle working remotely during a global pandemic and they managed that process very well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They see the bigger picture and really want the solution to succeed.  They take their time to consider client requests and ask questions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not that I can think of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Participate in a scoping session. They have a format that they propose for every new client regardless of the size of the project. It’s completely up to the client if that’s something they want to do. I recommend doing it because they’ll include tons of different people from the company to ensure that more people are up to speed with regards to the project. It’s easier for them to swap people around.

"“It doesn’t feel like a client-vendor relationship; it feels like a partnership.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the mobile product manager of mobile apps for Polaroid, the camera and film company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We plan to launch a new camera that connects to an app via Bluetooth, so we brought on EL Passion for mobile app development support.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We’re developing native apps on iOS and Android, and the main technologies are Swift on the iOS side and Copeland on the Android side.

They delivered an app for one of our cameras and app functionality for a printing device that allows users to print directly from their smartphone.

The last few months, we also worked on an app for a digital printer. This app was developed by another EL Passion team for iOS and Android. Users can send pictures from their iPhones directly to the printer via Bluetooth.

We’re continuously developing new features and doing maintenance to keep the apps up and running.

What is the team composition?

On the iOS side, there was one senior developer and one mid-level developer. On the Android side, there were two junior developers, two senior developers, and one mid-level developer.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

EL Passion was brought on before I was, but I know that their competitive price and their portfolio were the primary factors. They’re also located in Warsaw and our management has a lot of connections in Poland. So, I think they were recommended to our CEO.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $150,000–$250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2018 and we continue to work together.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re looking at user engagement and user satisfaction in the app store. We’re tracking recurring use and how many people are using the apps to take pictures on their hardware devices.

How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

We work remotely with them and use agile methodologies. As a project manager, I have daily interactions with the whole team to clarify and discuss user stories and the backlog. I also communicate with the project management and scrum master, so communication takes place on multiple levels.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The developers are knowledgeable, talented, and committed to the project’s success. It doesn’t feel like a client-vendor relationship; it feels like a partnership. Working with them feels like working with a colleague. They go the extra mile to ensure that deadlines and quality standards are met. They’re also very proactive. For example, they flag issues that even I haven’t been able to deal with. As a result, we have a very strong partnership.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They’re missing a QA department. Usually, we have to take care of testing internally or we need to hire a mobile app tester. However, I know that’s not part of their core services, and they’ve been very transparent about that.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Treat them with respect. I also try to give them more context on what is happening inside the company so they understand how the project fits in with company goals. We brought them into strategy sessions and into meetings with customer support to give them a better perspective of what our goals are. In my experience, that added more dimension to the collaboration. It helped them feel like they were part of my team.

**Feedback Summary**: The team was able to accomplish all of the goals of the project, developing a web app for the tool. Over the years, the team helped expand and grow the app by adding new features, translating it to more than 80 languages, and making it available globally.
""The best thing about my cooperation with EL Passion is that whatever my need is they can quickly help me out."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

The company stands behind the range of behavioural analysis tools for enterprises. It started with the original behavioural methodology that I developed based on existing theories. In the portfolio, there are various tools adjusted to the needs of the clients, accessible via web, iOS and Android apps. I’m the CEO of the company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion, and what were your goals?

I contacted EL Passion because initially, I needed help with the development and design of a new web app for the tool that had been working online since 1999 the first version of the tool that existed as a desktop app.

During the years of our cooperation, EL Passion was developing new features and tools. They’ve developed both the main application together with the engine behind our tools and another simplified-interface web app for end-users as well as they’ve created iOS and Android apps. We still continue the cooperation.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select EL Passion and what were the deciding factors?

Cost, immediate communication and feeling that they are willing to understand my needs.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

During the years of cooperation with EL Passion, we developed various features and tools. One of the main milestones was the design and development of the web app that enabled us to move away from the olddesktop app that we were using before.

EL Passion also conducted complex data migration from the old system to the web app that helped the business tremendously. Moreover, EL Passion designed and developed mobile apps for iOS and Android.

The apps include simplified functionality of web app enabling users to take tests and view reports. During the project, we also developed an API that enables third-party companies to create their own interfaces and apps using our app’s engine and methodology.

It was a very important part of the project and enabled me to grow the business. EL Passion also constantly works on improving and updating the code, so the app is easier to maintain. It also enables us to still develop new features after years since the start.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The team was changing throughout the years and varied from 2 to 6 team members. Depending on the needs in the team there were frontend and backend developers, iOS and Android developers and UX&UI designers.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The team achieved the goals of the initial project and delivered web and mobile apps as well as migrated the data from the old solution to the web app. During our cooperation, EL Passion delivered new features and tests further expanding the product.

Over the years the product was translated into 80 languages and extends to all continents and close to 100 countries. During the cooperation with EL Passion and thanks to their input to the product, it became the top 5 product in the field.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

El Passion always has had one person in charge of the project, but at the same allowed us to be highly integrated in the management of the project. Communication is daily both via skype, project management software and email. It has been very easy to build rapport with new programmers joining the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The best thing about my cooperation with EL Passion is that whatever my need is they can quickly help me out. Whenever I have some design to do or new features to add the team is ready to help it and I really appreciate it.

It’s a one-stop for my design and development needs and I don’t need to worry about it. It speeds up the process and benefits my business goals. Moreover, they manage to deliver great quality with very complex products like mine.

After years of cooperation, the initial code of the app is updated and being constantly developed.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I’m really happy with the cooperation that was smooth throughout the year. It’s hard to come up with some bad experiences. Success in projects like this is not dependent on the vendor, but also we do carry responsibility of it.

**The Review** — Jul 28, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: EL Passion was unable to deliver a usable product or rectify the issues that arose during the project. Although they followed the form of design best practices, they didn't respond well to feedback. Their lack of action put the business behind schedule, making for an unpleasant experience. This review includes the vendor's response.
""They oversold the team and the firm, and then seriously under delivered."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and CEO of the company developing a SaaS application.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We were looking for them to do the UX design for the first iteration of our enterprise web application.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

EL Passion was supposed to deliver the MVP UX design of an enterprise web app, but ultimately they failed to deliver. We expected to receive a design product that we could share with prospective customers, but ultimately had to move to a different firm.  We suffered a serious setback and lost a lot of credibility with prospective customers we’d spent months cultivating due to the issues with El Passion.

We fully committed to the project from the outset, conducted a full week-long kick-off session with them, and devoted heavy executive resources, but, after a full month of two and a half designers and a PM working on the project, there was no usable output.

What is the team dynamic?

They had a PM, a lead UX designer, along with a mid-tier UX designer, whose competency was drastically overstated. There was also a more graphics-oriented UI designer who was supposed to come in and turn low-fidelity designs into high-fidelity ones.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

We heavily relied on Clutch to find them. They had five-star reviews, and very visually-appealing case studies of UIs they’d posted on Dribbble.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them in 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

As far as the work goes, it was appallingly low. They oversold the team and the firm, and then seriously under delivered. In terms of delivering initial work, they delivered nothing acceptable. They burned a lot of hours and churned out many iterations, but there was ultimately zero useable work product.

My partner and I both have deep experience building and launching software products. The team simply wasn’t good, and I don’t think that they were capable of comprehending that they weren’t.  They’re really more graphic designers than UX people.  They post a lot of visually appealing designs on Dribbble, but when it comes to fundamental UX, they don’t have a clue.  Based on our experience, I don’t think they’ve ever worked on complex products before (beyond the standard fare of e-commerce and basic fin-tech).  The result is a pretty serious lack of self-awareness that didn’t fare well when confronted with criticism.

EL Passion got defensive when we gave them feedback, but the whole reason for working with a firm is that they should have a resolution path, including staffing changes. The project manager should be able to deal with something like this, and, if they can’t, whoever’s running the shop should.  It may also be that they just don’t have the talent.

Working with El Passion was a truly bad experience, and it really had a detrimental impact on our business. We had customers that we’d promised to show the product to, and we had to basically start over. It put us out by 3–4 months behind and broke every timeline and commitment we’d made to potential customers.

Our engagement with El Passion had a devastating impact on us as a startup.

How was project management handled?

We had an intensive 1-week kick-off session.  Then, they used Slack, and we had regular design calls. We had rapid-iteration design sprints using various screen-sharing platforms — everything you’d expect, just without a good outcome.

Is there anything that the vendor did well or that you would consider a strength?

EL Passion followed the form of how a design engagement should be approached. They followed many best practices, but I don’t think they fully understood them. At some point, their efforts seemed academic or theoretical.

Their lead designer had some talent, but was probably oversold and ultimately out of his depth on a project like ours.  The lead designer was really undermined by his PM and junior designer and El Passion’s scheduling regime.

In what specific areas can they improve?

El Passion’s ultimate failure was at a management level. Failure of technical team members happens all the time, and we just swap people and find the right fit. But that requires a management team that is client-focused and self-aware, which El Passion certainly is not. The management team, both at the project management and CEO level, fundamentally lacked the self-awareness to recognize that there was a problem.  They were incapable of taking client feedback and doing something with it.

The other problem is that, in addition to overbilling/hyping the resource they have, they sell their resources out so tightly that there were no options when team members didn’t work out.  El Passion management mentality is that this is the client’s problem: if we didn’t like the team (that we’d given a chance but didn’t deliver), we could wait three months.  They’re trying to have 100% of their staff on projects 100% of the time, but it leaves them zero margin for error while still keeping clients happy.

What advice do you have for clients with similar needs to yours?

First, realize El Passion is really only focused on El Passion.  It’s a very self-absorbed culture.  If you happen to have a project that is in their sweet spot and they can reflexively churn it out, you might be ok.  Or if you’re a big enterprise customer that is going to spend hundreds of thousands per year with them, they may work with you.  But our experience as a start-up working with them was that if something goes wrong, there’s zero recourse. The management team has zero client focus and did nothing to back us up. That’s a real risk with this team.

Second, don’t rely on their representations of team quality, or that they have a firm standard of quality.  Test your ACTUAL team members before they start the project. El Passion has real quality and staffing issues, and they try to pass of C-level players as A-levels.  Even though they have strong reviews, every team member needs to be put through design challenges and be made to demonstrate their skill, especially the mid-tier (but actually very junior) ones.

Third, realize that El Passion is a team that only performs well on cookie-cutter projects or low-sophistication, thick wallet clients.  If your project is complex or outside the mold, and you’re looking for quality and value, steer clear of El Passion.

Fourth, assume that El Passion is WAY overpriced.  If you’re focused on Poland (I’d look outside Poland), there are better shops with better talent for less.  Start by getting out of Warsaw.

Lastly, take caution in relying on Clutch reviews.  El Passion had 31 reviews with an average rating of 4.9 stars equates to a heavily-reviewed firm on Clutch. There aren’t that many firms out there with as many reviews, especially with that high of a rating.  Not enough of the negative experiences make their way into the Clutch reviews.  It really undermines the credibility of the Clutch platform when you don’t get a realistic perspective on how these firms are really performing.

**Company Response**
The vendor responded on August 20, 2020.

We’re sorry to read this review. It does not accurately represent the situation and facts. We tried to resolve the issues directly with the client numerous times, all to no avail.

Throughout the project, we put maximum expertise and effort into delivering excellent UX design. The team responded to all client-introduced changes in real-time, both in terms of deliverables and the collaboration process. During the cooperation, the client changed the scope and made contradictory requests several times, which made it impossible to stick to the schedule and budget agreed initially. The client was recurrently informed of the impact of their decisions and agreed to proceed.

Yet, they withheld payment for multiple invoices covering the work done. We tried to address the situation amicably by agreeing on a payment schedule. However, the client did not meet the schedule. Therefore we had to stop our work and withdraw access to the unpaid deliverable. Eventually, the client demanded to be paid back for their first invoice payment, while also receiving ownership of all deliverables free of charge.

The allegations about our team’s expertise are without merit and seem to be an emotional backlash. We believe that we did everything possible to avoid this situation.

At EL Passion, we take responsibility for each and every one of the projects we deliver. Over the course of 9 years, we worked on 300+ projects, sometimes extremely complex ones. Satisfactory results of our work are embodied in the 31 reviews validated here by Clutch and on our website.

**The Review** — Jul 22, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: EL Passion successfully produced a design that satisfied the project vision. The team efficiently delivers results without sacrificing quality. Their accessibility and responsiveness result in seamless collaboration. They effectively communicate, which supports a productive partnership.
""Their team delivers quality work fast."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m an executive of a video platform. We’re shooting and distributing our own content for the French market.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We needed to design and develop our platforms.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

EL Passion designed our entire web platform. Their team currently works to develop the product using React. They’re building features that allow users to log in, sign up, and buy a program. Their team’s working on a logic that would allow a user to download a PDF for each program after purchase. They’ll also integrate the web product with our CMS, which was built in Java and PHP. They’re also creating a feature that would allow users to view content without an internet connection.

Later, their team will design and develop our iOS and Android apps. All of the platforms will have the same features.

What is the team composition?

We work with two designers, two iOS developers, two Android developers, and two web developers. We also communicate with an account manager.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

I sought a company that had experience with video platforms and found two companies through a design platform. I looked at their portfolios and spoke to both of them but decided to work with EL Passion based on their previous projects.

How much have you invested with them?

The whole project will cost around €40,000 (approximately $46,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We initially spoke in January 2020 but started the work in April, which is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did well on the web design, which was as I expected. I’m happy that I chose EL Passion for this project. Their team delivers quality work fast, and the partnership’s going well.

How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Figma to collaborate on the design. Their team also uses a custom solution that allows us to check how much time each person spent on a task. They’re accessible via Slack and available for a quick call via Google when needed. Their communication’s great.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m really happy with EL Passion. So far, it’s been perfect.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve the availability of their teammates when a project starts. We had to wait for a teammate to begin work on our project. However, it wasn’t their fault. They had other work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s important to be as detailed as possible about your project. You should do your homework to understand what is and isn’t possible. I sent them many documents about our vision and ideas for different elements. With a detailed plan, EL Passion will do a great job.

**The Review** — Jun 23, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: The engagement helped the client's company enter the market and communicate with their clients. EL Passion effectively collaborates with the internal team, taking their vision into account. The team is hard-working, creative, and professional.
""I was impressed with their developers’ open approach to all of our ideas."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the Financial Director at Mednavi sp. z o. o., the owner of the Mednavi.pl platform, created in November, 2018. The main Mednavi creator is a cancer survivor herself, and she helped us realize the market is lacking a solution that could unite cancer diagnosed patients with institutions and doctors that can help with their particular type of cancer.

To ensure a full scope of information on cancer treatment possibilities, we continually cooperate with doctors, industry specialists and health journalists. The platform mednavi.pl is an innovation from the tech perspective; offering patients clear and easy to read treatment paths, interconnected with treatment descriptions and applicable institutions’ cards.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

EL Passion is with us from the very beginning of our project. Their team helped us transform our raw vision into a fully responsive Progressive Web App. We cooperated with them on all stages of the project: from UX and UI design, through Branding up to the development of the app (both Frontend and Backend), testing and production.

What were your goals for this project?

Our main goal was to deliver a tool that would give cancer patients and their loved ones a source of accurate information on the cancer disease and possible treatment solutions (including specific institutions that offer particular type of treatment).

From the technical perspective, the tool needed to be mobile-first and lightweight, to load all the needed information in real-time, even if the user’s Internet connection is not the best.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

EL Passion was recommended to us by their former client, who was extremely pleased with the end-results. After a Product Design Workshop with them, we were reassured of their professionalism and that they were the right fit for our product.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

With EL Passion, we were able to create a complete user interface (preceded with a UX design phase), but also our company’s logo with the entire brand system and brand guidelines. We developed a fully responsive Progressive Web Application, because this solution answered all of the project’s goals: it was lightweight, mobile-first and relatively cost-effective.

Custom treatment path diagrams are the core of our web app. The team built a custom diagram creator totally from scratch, so we can adjust every segment from the CMS level, without getting back into code.

What was the team composition?

3 UX/UI Designers, 2 Front-end Developers, 3 Back-end Developers during the project; 1 Back-end developer for Maintenance.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Mednavi is a company at the beginning of business activity. So the realisation of this project was the most important step for us to enter the market, and start communication with our clients.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We’re very happy with the EL Passion’s team professionalism and effectiveness. The Mednavi team is small, so beside sharing our own ideas, we were collectively supervising their efforts and clashing them with our own product vision.

A few times we asked the EL Passion team to redesign some elements, but the changes were applied almost instantly and exactly how we wanted them. The cooperation was very effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was impressed with their developers’ open approach to all of our ideas. At times, some of them interfered with the already-made code components. But the team, knowing the change is necessary, was always ready to creatively approach the task and deliver astounding results. As the project moved forward, the EL Passion team began to be its core element.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The miscommunication between the Design Team and the Developers team resulted in a couple of issues we needed to address and resolve on the go.

""EL Passion designers and developers are highly-skilled experts in UX/UI design and software development."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

Our product focuses on indoor localisation and tracking solutions. Through our products, we help to navigate and analyse traffic in buildings. I am the COO of the company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

We collaborated with EL Passion on our early product which was an indoor navigation system using our localisation technology. We chose them to design and build native apps for iOS and Android and proof of concept of the backend in Ruby on Rails.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted easy-to-use apps that would engage users and help them navigate in big commercial and public buildings. It was crucial for us that apps worked seamlessly with our custom-developed technology of localisation.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

EL Passion was recommended to us by another business from our network. After additional research online and their workshop with a scoping session, we decided to pursue the project with this provider.

Describe the project in detail.

The project started with the design discovery phase where we established what are the needs of users and key features of the app. It was very helpful to understand our product better.

After that, the UX designer started wireframing the app. The team presented the idea of the app and how crucial features would work. They based it on the previous study on our users’ needs. Then, they started the UI design phase during which they prepared a clean and simple look for the apps.

During the UX&UI phase, backend developers already started working on integration with our external devices enabling localisation indoors. When the design was finishing up, iOS and Android developers started translating app designs into code for both, iOS and Android. The team worked closely for the whole time and I think it helped to develop the app quickly and without any problems.

After the development phase, they delivered apps for both platforms based on the prepared designs. They also offered us help with launching the apps in respective stores.

What was the team composition?

The team consisted of UX designer, UI designer, 2 Backend developers, 3 Android developers, and 3 iOS developers.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

EL Passion team was able to deliver native mobile apps with complex integration of our custom localisation devices to enable our users to navigate through buildings.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We enjoyed the way EL Passion’s team works. We found it very well-organized and informative. They are great people and experts in their field. We always knew what’s going on in the project and what designers and developers are currently working on.

Every time we had some questions we could quickly jump on the call with them and discuss. It was clear they weren’t doing it for the first time and have experience and the process for projects they do.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

EL Passion designers and developers are highly-skilled experts in UX/UI design and software development. We had a great time working with them. They’re people to go with especially if you’re having a mobile project in mind.

Are there any areas for improvement?

It’s hard to think of any problems we had along the way.

EL Passion has gone above and beyond expectations, keeping track of their work through effective project management. Most notably, they were able to implement the UI/UX design faithfully without compromise.

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

We've created an “uber-like” platform that matches truck drivers in need of breakdown maintenance with mobile-mechanics, in real time. I am the founder & CEO of the company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

Initially el Passion was hired to complete a public facing website for our company. After successfully doing so we continued working with el Passion to develop an iOS app.

What were your goals for this project?

SEO and mobile-first design were very important for us, while not sacrificing UI/UX. The design was very impressive and equally so was the programming. Typically design doesn't translate into technical requirements without some distortion, but this team proved to me on-point!

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

Extensive research was completed, with a strong focus on UI/UX and branding. Several companies were considered and we made contact with 3 separate ones.

El Passion was very responsive and had the resources and staff to scale with us as it was our intent to build a mobile application after completing the website.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

El Passion provided all the resources necessary for a successful project. Project manager, customer support, front-end developers, back-end developers, UI/UX designers, etc.

I contributed as much or as little as needed with the staff at El Passion filling in the details. They can follow specific guidelines while also offering creative solutions for an even better end result.

What was the team composition?

The team was composed of a project manager, UI/UX designer, front-end dev, back-end dev, senior support, etc. El Passion can scale to as little or as large as you need them. Budgets are very accurate and reporting is completed weekly so there are no surprises.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We are still pre-launch, but so far I am very impressed with the technical stats we are hitting with the website. SEO and performance audits are very good at the moment and I'm excited to launch soon. I am very pleased and I would say El Passion has exceeded expectations.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Communication is never lacking with this team. Jira serves as a place for user stories to drive requirements and weekly team meetings on slack and google meet are a great time to review progress and next steps. Every weeks I was notified of budget, timelines, availability of staff, etc.—very thorough and proactive in ensuring there are no surprises.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Overall, El Passion is a team that is passionate and takes ownership of the project. Everyone is very skilled for the task at hand and works hard to see it through. This has been some of the best communication and one of the most friendly teams I have worked with.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I cannot give enough praise to this company. They have exceeded my expectations time and time again!

**The Review** — Feb 22, 2020

**Feedback Summary**: EL Passion successfully delivered an app that's endowed with numerous sophisticated features. They also effectively adhered to the restrictions set by the EU grant that funded the project. The "clean" code of the app is easily customizable by third parties. Their team was a pleasure to work with.
""The collaboration was great, and it was a pleasure to work with these experts."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

The company is a startup that offers a platform for gym chain management. It helps gym owners to manage payments, memberships, sales, marketing and fitness class bookings. I am the CEO of the company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

We chose EL Passion to build our mobile apps (iOS and Android) for members of the gyms.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal of the app was to engage users and encourage them to use the services of the gym more often through easy access to in-app fitness class offers and marketing activations such as promos.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We researched Polish custom software development companies and sent out the RFP to chosen agencies. EL Passion’s offer was the most favourable one so we chose them. Also, we knew them from the recommendations of their previous clients from our network.

Describe the project in detail.

The project started with an UX phase where EL Passion’s designers analysed the requirements of our EU grant to match the features of the app with them. The design team then prepared wireframes and visual designs (UI).

Meanwhile, the iOS and Android developers started working on implementing the features by closely cooperating with the design and the backend teams. A particularly challenging aspect was to find an easy solution to logging in with credentials from databases of different gym chains. It required the work of both, design and development teams, to figure out the best solution.

Together with the main app EL Passion delivered a white-label version which allowed the app to be adjusted to the brand requirements of different gym chains. EL Passion prepared and supported us for the app’s launch. The team was committed to working together to meet our strict delivery and launch deadline.

What was the team composition?

We were working with several developers and designers from the company. First, we started the work with UX and UI designers. After the design phase, 3 iOS developers, 3 Android developers and 2 Backend developers worked on building the apps for two platforms.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The team was able to deliver a very complex app with various features that met our expectations as well as comply with the regulations imposed by the EU grant, which was partly funding our project.

It was one of the key requirements, and thanks to meeting the regulations we were able to obtain the funding we expected. The developed app was written in a way that it was easy for our in-house development team to take over the maintenance and adding new features after we finished the cooperation.

It was also very well prepared for launching white-label apps based on the same code built by EL Passion.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

During the kick-off, EL Passion’s team was very helpful in understanding how the work on the project will look like. They asked how we’re used to work and based on that prepared a solution to suit us. They explained all the processes that later on streamlined the work.

During the design and development process communication was smooth. iOS, Android and Backend developers from EL Passion were in constant communication with our team to ensure the best quality of the delivered project. They were always there to help us and understand the process.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were impressed with the quality of code and ease in working with it later on after the launch when our in-house team took over the maintenance and development of new features. They were very helpful and focused on the success of our product and meeting the requirements. The communication and flow of information were good so I always felt that I knew what’s going on with the project.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The collaboration was great, and it was a pleasure to work with these experts

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We’re in the process of developing an e-commerce platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with El Passion?

We were developing our MVP with them. It was important for us to have a team that could develop both the product and interface of the solution.

They had key inputs regarding how to make our business plan most effective. The team provided strategy, UI/UX, and development services for us. They have a refined design process.

The project involved a complete platform design, and our MVP was only a partial portion of that. We’re looking to make changes and integrations for far off into the future as well. They helped us determine a roadmap for the future by building the product for scaling.

Their team used Ruby on Heroku as well as Ember. We were running on Amazon for a while, but we just transitioned to Netlify as we were trying to optimize the page. One of their developers suggested that.

What is the team composition?

At one point, we had 3–4 working on the project. Due to our agile development style, we’ve had a consistent team lead throughout the project. We were working with the same designer and project lead the entire time.

How did you come to work with El Passion?

We were following them on Dribbble and liked their work. When the opportunity came up, we wanted to collaborate with them on our own project.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent about $130,000 at this point.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from February 2018, and our collaboration is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their design process was impressive, and we were happy with the result. It’s both forward-thinking and user-centric. That was a very smooth process, resulting in a beautiful end product. We’ve received tons of positive feedback because people are impressed with the speed and performance of the UI/UX. People are finding our product different and special within our market.

How did El Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

They made sure that they had a strong, consistent sense of project management on their end. Their project lead scoped out tasks and set up sprints. Communication was exceptional because of how transparent we were throughout. Whenever we ran into questions or issues, we would get together and hash things out. We were pretty good at coming together to find the best path forward.

What did you find most impressive about them?

At this point, we see them as our technology partner. Because we’ve been so satisfied with their work, this is a relationship that we want to keep up. From start to finish, everything was very personalized, and we got to know several of their team members. That helped with team cohesion. It was exciting to see their passion for our product.

There was a strong sense of product ownership on their part, always concerned about the scalability of the final result. They came up with ideas we didn’t have during the development.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. We’re generally happy with our experience.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Listen to their feedback and trust their judgment on design. They have experience with many different products, so it’s interesting to hear their insight on what works and what doesn’t.

Varner is one of Northern Europas biggest fashion retailers with more than 1400 stores, mainy in Scandinavia. I work as a Product Manager in Varner.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

ElPassion was hired to build a custom made Price and Campaign engine for Varner - to enable Varner to have one common campaign engine across online and offline channels.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal was to create a smart, AI, based price and campaign engine - to enable Varner to track all price changes, dynamically change the price to optimize sales and margins and be able to create campaigns based on stock status. From a customer perspective, we wanted to be able to give the customer better overview and insight in available campaigns and eventually offer individual prices.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

ElPassion was selected based on previous experience from other projects within Varner`s former partners.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Varner decided to build a new retail stack, where Price and Campaign, in the first phase should have full ownership of prices and all changes in prices, together with campaigns. This was integrated with the new e-commerce platform that was build at the same time.

The key features with be, prices and all possible campaigns. In addition to this, we built Markdown, an AI controlled price optimization application for end of season sales.

The Price and Campaign engine replaced old functionallity and cannot demonstrate prowen impact at this point. But it enables us to track campaigns and price changes better and are built in a way that we easily can add features in comparison to old 3 party applications. Markdown has proven to additional upsale of old products, in end of season sale, between 65 and 100 MNOK, and have huge impact on Varners long term margins.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Project Management was my responsibility and everything that was ineffective was based on my lack of experience. The ElPassion team was very helpful and great partners to set up a project managment to secure efficiency.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I would say the most impressive strengths of the team from ElPassion would be their ownership to the product we built. They are knowledgeable and efficiently figure out solutions to roadblocks and problems.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There could be more flexibility to have more on site workdays, but I did not require this and we maintained good communcation even we worked from different countries.

"“The team’s skill level and ability to communicate have been impressive.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work for entrafin GmbH, a trading platform that does digital trade finance. I’m the head of sales for Cologne, Germany.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We wanted to upgrade our app. We don’t have our own technical person, so we need to have good people taking care of our app, as all of our business is on it. We need to be able to get quick answers and help when needed, especially with maintenance.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

EL Passion has helped us develop our app for international business trading. They changed our UI/UX and enabled partial billing. Because we are a digital trading platform, we have to go through a lot of steps to adhere to regulations.

What is the team composition?

We have two developers and one account manager.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

They were recommended to us by another company who had worked with them before. Communication is easygoing, which is why it is a perfect fit.

How much have you invested in them?

We will have spent $30,000–$40,000 this year.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them in 2016, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Adding the partial billing and international trading capabilities was a huge step in improving our business. EL Passion is able to book new options for our development needs quickly, and they are really flexible. If there is a specific developer we want to work with because we worked with them before, it is easier, because they know the project.

How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

It has been really easy to book and plan sprints. EL Passion has also easily switched between doing huge development tasks and normal maintenance. We can get help quickly.

Communication is great, but it might be better to meet up in person before doing a big project instead of doing so via Skype. All other communication has been easy and quick, even if we’re in two different countries.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team’s skill level and ability to communicate have been impressive. Even if we don’t understand the questions, or if they don’t understand what we mean, it is always smooth to talk to them, and they are easy to work with. We never hesitate to call them and ask questions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be good to have some advice when it comes to what is best for the app, but that is a very small thing.

I am the COO of Gignative, which connects clients with high tech suppliers side. We connect mostly US/ UK clients with Polish market due to one of the best competencies in the world in software development.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

One of our clients was interested in creating a new software for financial services from the scratch. The idea was to check first how it can look like so the business side can do the user experience tests first and check the results. We decided to cooperate with El Passion's UX and UI designers.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to check the first reaction of users and check what the biggest benefits so it was very important to have a clickable version of designs

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We have already seen previously the work done by El Passion's designers so we decided to do the project with them this time without even looking for alternatives. We had a chance to talk first to the UX senior designer to understand their ways of working and what do they pay attention to. After the first meeting we already knew how good the UX designer is.

Describe the project in detail.

We decided to start with a couple hour's session to understand the goal of the project, the industry and the final user's expectations. We draw the whole process of user's journey and we had a brainstorm together to eliminate non added values.

After the session we started to produce and discuss in details the first mockups. Once we were at the point that the first mockups were accepted by all stakeholders, we went further to produce the rest of it.

What was the team composition?

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We were able to deliver the package of mockups (including UI) for the first stage of the project within a month, which was expected by the client and the feedback from end users was great.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was very important the the communication from the designers was so clear. The product owner knew exactly what and when is required from him, the process was set up in an easy way so you could always take an action or check what the status is.

It was super clear and super fast delivery mostly to the fact, that both sides (product owner and the designers) were very responsive and they responded very fast to their awaiting actions

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I was blown away by how detail-oriented they were. They went so much into the details that I have never expected that such case corners can arise that I would have never think of. At the end of the day it saved my time on development

Are there any areas for improvement?

None

**Feedback Summary**: The team at EL Passion exceeded expectations, delivering high-quality design work. All external and internal feedback has been positive. New and old customers are impressed and re-engaging. Their responsiveness and communication style were top-notch. Customers can expect a team open to feedback.
""Customers and prospects have said it’s one of the best platforms they’ve seen on the market."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the product manager at an HR tech startup that provides employee engagement and lifecycle survey products to companies of all sizes. I’ve been working there for about a year.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

Our platform allows users to view data analytics for surveys they’re conducting. In the beginning, the platform was thrown together to get the product out there for customers. As a company, we needed to do a complete refresh of our frequently-used product.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

EL Passion redesigned the UX/UI of our entire analytics platform. The product includes data analytics for three product modules. It also has the ability for customers to manage their company settings and user databases, launch surveys, and poll out to their employees. We looked at their work through InVision, providing feedback and iterating on their designs.

What is the team composition?

We worked with two people.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

Before I came aboard, our CEO engaged with EL Passion. The reason we met with their team was that our company is distributed internationally. We’re based in the US, but working with a company in another time zone isn’t an issue for us.

We were looking for an agency to complete the redesign without having to invest our resources in bringing on a full-time UX designer. We needed flexible support that fit within our budget. Outsourcing to a company in Europe provides that.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with EL Passion from September 2018–April 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Everything was completed earlier this year. I emailed them just today about a different project. The engagement was a resounding success. The work that their team delivered was a vast improvement over what we had before. In terms of customer experience, our product is at the top of the market. Customers and prospects have said it’s one of the best platforms they’ve seen on the market. It offers a better experience for customers.

Internally, the feedback was also excellent. All of our teams are engaging with customers and people looking to reengage with. Everyone was blown away with how much better the product looked. It’s made the difference in securing deals moving forward.

How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

Our working relationship with EL Passion was great. They’re incredibly responsive and open to our feedback. Their team works in an agile manner, reacting to changes quickly. We’ve worked well together despite being in different time zones. We would meet a couple of times a week, going over updates and providing feedback. We also had an open communication through Slack, where we would send input, and they’d send updated designs.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The communication between our team and their designers was excellent. They were available, even after we started implementing the work. They were engaged, checking down the road whenever we had questions and anticipating when the designs would go live. Their team wanted to see it up-and-running. Their level of enthusiasm was phenomenal.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. From my perspective, our experience was positive.

**The Review** — Aug 26, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: Internal partners lauded the B2B and B2C apps for their improved functionalities and notable graphic improvements. On the B2C app, the upgrades garnered a significant increase in booking numbers. EL Passion's success in these projects has positioned them well for future work.
""We continue to be impressed with EL Passion’s team professionalism and their extensive skill set."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

Booksy is a booking system for people looking to schedule appointments for health & beauty services. Customers can download the app (available for Android & iOS) to find local services. I’m the co-founder and CPO of Booksy.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

We decided that to provide better value for our clients, both of our apps, Booksy (B2C) and BooksyBIZ directed at B2B customers [partners], needed a redesign and functionality refreshment to better correspond to the ever-changing market situation.

We reached out to EL Passion to help us with both, the design and development of the apps. The B2B-targeted app needed an update for two mobile platforms, iOS and Android, whereas our main app, Booksy (B2C) required UI&UX assistance on the IOS OS.

What were your goals for this project?

The main focus of the B2B app update was the introduction of some key strategic features, i.e new businesses onboarding and the addition of message blasts strongly suggested by our partners in the course of time. We also wanted to refresh the design.

For our B2C app, the crucial element was to adjust it visually to the overall iOS OS look and feel and to make it compatible with various screen sizes. With these tweaks applied, we aimed at increasing our booking number by 50%.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We were looking for a partner who could help us in both design and development and do so in a relatively short period of time. We heard about EL Passion from Docplanner, one of EL Passion’s former clients. They were very satisfied with the quality of cooperation as well as the end result and that contributed highly to our final decision to pursue our project with them.

Describe the project in detail.

The project kicked off just after our signing the contract; EL Passion’s designers conducted several in-depth interviews with us regarding our UI and UX expectations to gain a profound understanding of the challenge. The team of assigned developers and designers started the project directly from our office so it was convenient for us to issue any ad-hoc concerns.

After the introductory period the project was continued remotely and, thanks to the tools introduced to us by the EL Passion team, it turned out to be very efficient. The EL Passion team suggested the Scrum methodology for our cooperation and provided us with finished elements of the project by the end of every sprint. The method was effective and allowed us to keep control over the whole process.

EL Passion successfully delivered all requested screens and designs with the refreshed UI & UX as well as developed new desired functionalities for our B2B app.

What was the team composition?

The project was realised in two parts. During the first iteration, a team of 3 iOS developers and 2 Android developers helped us to develop a new version of our B2B app.

Later, 3 iOS developers and 2 UI/UX designers recreated the navigation and information architecture. Our Product Owner was working directly with the developers which was convenient and streamlined the whole process.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Thanks to EL Passion we were able to create apps meeting all of our previously established expectations. The B2C app improved our client conversion bringing a significant increase in the booking numbers.

Since the launch, we received positive feedback from our Partners regarding the changes in the B2B application who noticed the enhancements and appreciated the introduction of new functionalities.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our team remained directly involved in the whole process and thanks to the initial two-team cooperation we were able to establish well-performing communication channels.

The introduction of the necessary tools on the EL Passion’s side alongside their unshaken way of results delivery benefited the pace and quality of the communication. They were always there ready to share their knowledge and expertise.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We continue to be impressed with EL Passion’s team professionalism and their extensive skill set. Our cooperation remained smooth throughout the whole project, we were regularly updated on the apps’ status and could test and improve elements right away.

The end-result UI designs and animations were stunning, and they are probably the major factor why we would/will [stronger] choose to work with them again.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Initially, we thought that we could add ad-hoc features after the project’s closure. However, we had to go for the maintenance offer to apply any changes. We would appreciate a more flexible solution for that.

They collaborate well and have excellent technical experience. Their involvement has prevented development bottlenecks and resulted in a robust application.
""EL Passion's engineers are pleasant and professional to work with."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I’m the CTO at Humon. We empower people with actionable insights about their body, allowing them to be the best version of themselves. Our first product measures how muscles use oxygen, which is the best metric of physical exertion. With this data, our algorithms prescribe the perfect pace and workout intensities in real-time, provide post-workout analysis about how the body is responding, and suggest future activities based on this information.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

Our company hired EL Passion to aid our in-house team in developing our backend application and infrastructure.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals with EL Passion were to take an existing but primitive backend application and get it production-ready. This included adding features, improving reliability, and refactoring code for future scalability and maintainability.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

EL Passion was introduced to me by another firm with whom I had very successfully worked with. I trusted the party making the introduction and was pleased with the initial interactions I had with the team at EL Passion, so I made the selection to work with them.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

Once we selected EL Passion, their engineers integrated quickly and seamlessly into our in-house team of developers, as well as the other contracting firm which was working on our mobile application. We all shared a single instant messaging channel, where EL Passion immediately became part of our cohesive team. They coordinated with the rest of the team to build changes to the backend to support the work of the mobile team. This required working in concert to roll out new features, fix bugs, and future-proof the backend codebase.

What was the team composition?

The EL Passion team has scaled as necessary to meet our internal needs, but the average composition involved a senior engineer and mid-level engineer.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We met our initial deadline and had a successful launch. Now, we’re continuing to improve the app by fixing bugs, adding features, and enhancing its design. As a young and growing business, we’ve faced many challenges, but our software hasn’t been a bottleneck.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Overall, our workflow has been seamless. EL Passion's engineers are pleasant and professional to work with. Direct and constant communication between our two teams has been critical to operating efficiently. Our successful collaboration wouldn’t be possible without the excellent communication between our team and every member of their team.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I have been most impressed by the knowledge of the EL Passion team and their ability to integrate so easily into our existing team. Without either of those attributes alone, success would not have been possible. Having strong technical skills and knowledge to discuss and think through problems in real-time together made our collaboration a success.

Are there any areas for improvement?

The benefits of strong communication with the EL Passion team have been clear and described above. This was achieved with each team member throughout our collaboration. The only area to improve was that this process was a bit different for each team member, with their hours and schedule all a bit different. Having a consistent and transparent understanding of the expected process from the start would have helped.

**The Review** — Aug 13, 2019

**Feedback Summary**: El Passion successfully delivered the first version of the applications, which have received promising initial feedback. Their team’s success has fostered an extended engagement. Professional and adaptive, El Passion is committed to meeting client goals and having a smooth workflow.
""Their flexibility and willingness to pivot when we think is necessary is really appreciated."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the CEO of a health startup.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with El Passion?

Our first attempt at building a platform for health professionals with another development company was not successful, so we engaged El Passion to take over the project.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We wanted to develop a mobile application for Android and iOS that allowed health professionals to follow up with obese patients while they are at home. Users can enter their personal information and updates into the app and then start a dialogue with their healthcare provider through the platform.

When we engaged El Passion, we had a clear set of specifications because we had already begun working on the app with another partner. We held a kickoff meeting to transfer all of our existing work to El Passion and give them more of an understanding of what we were aiming for. They figured it out quickly and ultimately delivered what we wanted.

What is the team composition?

We work with a technical team of about five people.

How did you come to work with El Passion?

Their CEO contacted me several times in the past, but we were never in the position to hire them. Luckily, she contacted us again while we were searching for a new partner. We discussed our project through a series of calls, and we selected El Passion after also interviewing a few other companies.

El Passion made a really good first impression. They were curious and understood our needs. And they followed-up nicely after the meeting. All of the companies followed-up, but El Passion really stood out.

How much have you invested with them?

We expect to spend about $250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work with El Passion began in February 2019 and remains ongoing. Our system is up and running in a pilot phase now, and we’ve decided to continue working with El Passion for building our next version.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Two local students are writing their master’s theses on our project, so they have researched the implementation of our system. Through their interviews and surveys with patients and health professionals, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback. The system is somewhat basic, but users have liked it. We had a few small issues once we first launched it, but El Passion solved them quickly. Since then, the app has been quite stable.

How did El Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

They are quite professional in how they run the project. We have daily standups, and they adapt quickly to our preferred methods or strategies. In that regard, they’ve been straightforward to work with compared to past vendors.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their flexibility and willingness to pivot when we think is necessary is really appreciated. Their curiosity makes them stand out. They are invested in our project and meeting our goals.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I'm quite happy with them. I have no areas for improvement for them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I'd recommend being on the project every day yourself, as opposed to leaving all the work up to them. You have to be involved in some way.

**Feedback Summary**: With carefully written code and a creative design, EL Passion delivered a functional product that is worthy of being introduced to a broader audience. The team had little trouble communicating across time zones, and they were mindful of all requirements.
""EL Passion did everything we asked of them, and they were very accommodating throughout the process."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am an engineer at a technology development company. We deliver web services through various applications and domains.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We hired EL Passion for a rapid build of a new application that we're considering launching.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Our company designed and built a proof of concept internally for a user behavior analysis tool, which would help website owners track user activity and collect feedback from users. We demoed it to EL Passion and asked them to provide a more professional design and assist in building a prototype. We agreed to a collaborative partnership in that they would develop the frontend using React while our in-house team maintained the backend.

What is the team composition?

We had one full-time designer for the first month or so and then brought on a full-time developer and a part-time junior developer.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

We had worked with EL Passion on a previous project, so we already had a decent working relationship with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $45,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our engagement spanned February–May 2019.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They definitely met the requirement of coming up with an intuitive design and helping us bring our idea from an initial prototype to something that we will be proud to present to a broader user base.

How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated daily through Slack, and we used Jira for development tasking. EL Passion did a good job of giving us project updates. There were no bottlenecks in terms of communicating.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The designer we worked with was the strongest resource for us. We could tell he took a personal liking to the project. He engaged regularly and had a lot of opinions and ideas, so it was like he was part of our in-house team.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. EL Passion did everything we asked of them, and they were very accommodating throughout the process.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

When working with an outsourced team, in general, it’s vital for the internal team to maintain the work that’s being done. We had to find that balance so that we picked the appropriate time for EL Passion to transition the product back to us near the end of the development process.

**Feedback Summary**: Despite one small oversight that extended the project by one day, EL Passion delivered useful and high-quality subpage designs. The team is receptive of feedback and makes appropriate changes when necessary. They are accommodating and ambitious, creating a successful engagement.
""EL Passion demonstrated professionalism, flexibility, and dedication from start to finish."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am a senior digital marketing specialist for a company that offers non-wage benefits to companies in Poland and other European countries. Our main product—MultiSport Program—gives our users access to sports facilities.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

Through our website, we offer our MultiSport users access to seasonal activities and promotions. Winter activities are among the most popular, and we needed to create new content on our site presenting a new offer in a very short time. We hired EL Passion to design graphics and new subpages.

What were your goals for this project?

We hoped to create a modern and friendly UX design that presented our latest offer.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We hired EL Passion because we believeD their offer and dedication were the most suitable for us. At the time of the engagement, we also had an ongoing project with their team, and we were satisfied with the results they had provided.

Describe the project in detail.

EL Passion had only seven days to deliver all of the graphic designs of the website. During our initial briefing, we discussed our expectations and business goals, and we provided them with the required specifications of the project.

Within two days, EL Passion delivered low-resolution mock-ups of three subpages—complete with new illustrations, GIFs, text, and photos. We gave them some feedback, and their designers began work on more high-quality mockups. The designers finished their work on time, but they did not provide a responsive web design (RWD) version. They claimed they did not have enough time to do that. We afforded them one extra day to deliver an RWD version. They fulfilled all of their obligations once we had an RWD version.

What was the team composition?

We had direct contact with two designers and a project manager.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our website developers were satisfied with the completed designs. We constantly receive positive feedback about the graphic elements of our website.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our teams used Slack to communicate and InVision to upload designs and provide feedback. Overall, it was very easy to work together.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

EL Passion demonstrated professionalism, flexibility, and dedication from start to finish. They delivered results that met our expectations. Our project manager was always supportive and eager to solve any issues.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, I don't think any other company could deliver better solutions in that tight of a timeframe.

**Feedback Summary**: All deliverables produced by EL Passion have met original standards. The team has been capable of working efficiently despite time differences. Though more collaboration could be beneficial, the multi-year engagement has been valuable.
"“EL Passion’s designers have been highly available and continuously produce strong designs.”

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a UX designer for Tellius. The company is headquartered in Washington, D.C. and I work remotely with our product team.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We wanted EL Passion to help provide design-related solutions for our website and product.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The EL Passion team supplies a range of services for our website. They designed the site before I joined the team, and now provide good support in building the product UI. They create prototypes by using InVision and put it through multiple design flows and screens. Their designers also create animations for our site as well as product interaction-related micro UI animations.

What is the team composition?

Depending on the task, EL Passion provides a specific designer.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

We found EL Passion through references and reading online reviews. From there, my manager contacted their team looking for a designer.

What is the status of this engagement?

Although I joined the company in July 2018, EL Passion started working with us in 2016, and the engagement is going.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

EL Passion has done a great job in providing everything we’ve asked for. The deliverables meet our standards.

How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

The EL Passion team uses InVision and other necessary design tools; the designers at El Passion are highly collaborative and easy-going in nature. We do the project remotely and have to work with time differences. Additionally, we use Slack to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

EL Passion's designers have been highly available and continuously produce strong designs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

An improved collaboration channel could lower the burden on both parties but this is due to limitations found in any current design/collaboration/communication tools. Other than this, El Passion's service is up to the mark.

**The Review** — Oct 22, 2018

**Feedback Summary**: El Passion delivered high caliber products with strong, clean code and attractive designs. They crafted a sleek, modern UI for the trading application. The team is entirely transparent, trustworthy, and pleasant to work with as a long-term development partner.
"“El Passion is very responsive and engaging. We've built a great working relationship.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the managing director and CEO of Peloton Blockchain. Our software services company is building securitization trading software. We focus on equities, unlisted fixed income, and cryptocurrencies.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with El Passion?

We hired El Passion for UX/UI design and development. I needed professional web frontend work for one of our applications.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Originally, El Passion made the designs in Sketch and then they put them on InVision for me to review. Once I approved the designs, they built the software in React.js. One of my products is an exchange trading venue.

We didn’t have the skill set internally to design and develop the UI. We tasked El Passion with creating a slick, clean frontend UI for traders to log in and view order decks, a chart of prices, and the available pairs to trade.

What is the team composition?

We've been through a few projects together at this point, but they assigned one designer and one developer for our first project. They brought in a senior developer to help with a particularly sticky problem at one point.

How did you come to work with El Passion?

Globally, developers charge a range of prices. I considered other firms in the US and India. El Passion was in the mid-tier for pricing, which was important, but we hired them based on their response to my initial queries. I sent out a standard set of questions to several vendors.

The way El Passion responded showed me they'd read and understood the brief properly. When I progressed to a call with their team, they were immediately engaging. They offered responsive, great communication and we clicked immediately.

How much have you invested with them?

It's been a little bit piecemeal as one project turned into another over the course of a few months. In total, we're spent around $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2018. The initial project is done.  El Passion is currently helping us white label our products for clients. Occasionally, clients have specific demands for a web application. In those cases, I ask El Passion to have their designers create mockups of screens and graphics. If the client approves the designs, I ask them to develop them. We're going to have an ongoing partnership.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

El Passion produces excellent quality deliverables. I'm a former developer, so I reviewed the code they gave me and I was very happy with it. Their designs are beautiful.

They tend to provide estimates that seem high based on what the developers say, but typically come in well under those figures. I'm always pleased in the end.

How did El Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

The team is very predictable. We used Slack for day-to-day communication, which was excellent. El Passion is very responsive and engaging. We've built a great working relationship.

El Passion always notifies me early if they won't be able to meet a deadline. They never tell me last minute or double the price because they're running late. If it will take an extra 18 days, they tell me upfront so there are no surprises.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I most appreciate El Passion’s friendliness. They're pleasant to work with and are all smiles.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I don't think so. I'm happy with El Passion. I've worked with quite a few teams over the years and I like them a lot.

**The Review** — Nov 29, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: El Passion is a very efficient company with remarkable communication. A client was gained halfway through the project thanks to the prototype they developed. Despite not being experts in the fintech world, they learned quickly and did an excellent job while being flexible with the fees.
""[T]hey picked things up quickly and did excellent work overall."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the co-founder and CEO of a company that has created a web-based tool which can discover correlation relationships between 47 publicly-traded instruments. Our target audience is made up of traders at banks and hedge funds as well as asset managers.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire EL Passion?

We hired them to help us with backend work and to integrate the designs that we had already done.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to create a working first version that we could begin selling to customers.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

They were referred to us by a former colleague of mine in Spain. I interviewed several other companies but after meeting with EL Passion, we decided that they were the right company.

Describe the project in detail.

We began the project with EL Passion by spending a day scoping out the project in Warsaw, their headquarters. In the first half of the day, I described how each module on our dashboard needed to work, and with the second half, one of my colleagues explained the financial formulas that would drive the product.

Once the work began, we met once a week via join.me to discuss progress and to go over obstacles. It was an iterative process since we changed the scope as the website was being built. In some instances, we removed things that didn't work properly, and in others, we added things based on feedback from potential users.

Explain how the solution addressed your business challenge.

The most sophisticated correlation "tool" that is known to date is a PDF file that Goldman Sachs distributes to its traders which shows current correlation values. Our tool presents correlation through multiple lenses to help traders make informed trading decisions.

What was the team composition?

We had one backend developer and two frontend developers working on the project.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What outcomes or results can you share that demonstrate progress and/or success?

About midway through the project, we showed a working prototype to a hedge fund in Canada. They were so impressed with the prototype that they declared they wanted to be the first client when the website goes live.

How effective was the project management?

We had very good communication throughout the process, which is integral to success in my opinion. That level of communication made the entire project more efficient.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

What I found most impressive is their communication and willingness to be flexible on costs whenever there were some coding missteps.

What tips or recommendations do you have?

At first, it was clear their team was not very familiar with some of the financial concepts that we were involved with and it took a little time for them to get up to speed. As EL Passion is interested in doing more fintech work, it would make sense to train some of their developers to become more adept in the working procedures of Wall Street. That said, they picked things up quickly and did excellent work overall.

**Feedback Summary**: The player reached full ROI in 1 month. It’s now a part of every content app, bringing total users to 2 million. EL Passion’s initial transparent, proactive approach marked the entire project. A larger dev team would be welcome, due to their superior coding skills and grasp of objectives.
""They created exactly what we wanted under budget and ahead of schedule."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a media company with one of the most popular websites in Poland, wp.pl. We offer news and gossip, as well as other features. I'm an iOS technical leader and platform leader. I'm responsible for native iOS and Android applications, as well as progressive web applications.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We wanted to develop a video library for one of our apps. At that time, we had 12 developers, and all of them were occupied with other products, so we decided to outsource the work.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They were responsible for creating the video player for our internet broadcasting app for Android, called WP Pilot. Users can watch Polish TV channels through the app, using the player they created. It not only plays videos, but it also displays ads, allowing us to monetize them.

They created the entire library. We gave them some specifications, but we agreed that we wouldn't prepare a huge list.

We had 3 agreements for stages of the project. In the first one, we created an MVP without any stats or monetization. After testing that product, we decided to move forward with it. Over the next 2 stages, they added new features and then tested and refined them.

What is the team dynamic?

They provided us with 4 developers.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

A few of their developers have been speakers at events we’ve attended. We decided to discuss potential collaboration with them.

We invited them to our office and held small workshops. They started developing the next day. A few days later, they gave us the first draft of a demo to show us what our cooperation would be like. We were able to install the demo application on our devices. This was even before we’d signed an agreement.

In addition to their proactive work upfront, we selected them because we liked that they understood our needs. Their idea for how to tackle the project was a perfect fit.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent about $100,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from July to December 2016.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The app they created the player for currently has 500,000 users. We now use the player in all of our applications, which means it has around 2 million users. Every article that includes video now displays it on their Android devices.
We got a return on our entire investment in the product in the first month of distribution. It was really nice to have such a well-functioning product.
How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?
I was the product owner, and I was responsible for managing each sprint. They only provided us with developers. We’d have a small meeting everyday for about 5 minutes. Even though the meetings were short, I was confident they understood our goals exactly. We used Scrum for our collaborated and would make changes and add next steps each day.
They anticipated any technical problems or potential scheduling delays and informed me upfront. If there was a problem, they would contact me immediately and we would troubleshoot or cancel some optional tasks. I appreciated that clear communication.
While their testing process took a bit longer than it would’ve with our own developers, it yielded better results. They took the time to write tests themselves and polish each feature accordingly, but their resulting code was very high quality without any related crashes.
They created exactly what we wanted under budget and ahead of schedule.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The code quality was outstanding—some of the best quality I've ever seen. During 4–5 years here, I’ve worked with 2 different companies. Every project I created with them was over time, over budget, and was of a mediocre quality. It was quite nice to finally find a company that could deliver exactly what we wanted. EL Passion was the first company I could recommend to other people. That’s not something I'm used to.
Their transparency also really surprised us. Every day from day 1, we were able to see their progress. The code quality, the continuous integration, and every commit and modification on Codebase was visible to us. It was nice to have this constant overview of the project.
Are there any areas they could improve?
After this project finished, we wanted them to provide more developers for additional, time-sensitive projects. Because of their commitment to other clients, they were unable to provide them. That's why our collaboration with them ended after just one product. That was our only issue, which wasn’t a major problem.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Their team is medium-sized, with 10–12 developers now. If a client needs more, it might be challenging to make that happen.

**The Review** — May 23, 2017

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to El Passion’s extensive feature builds, the app has earned praise from users in response to its reliability and functionality. The team’s ability to manage complex inputs with discipline and creativity allows them to meet high standards.
""Their commitment to the project was exemplary.""

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the head of innovation at Rightmove Group Limited, the largest property portal in the United Kingdom.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with El Passion?

We are trying to create a brand-new property search experience, specifically focused on making the search experience for people looking for properties to rent in London much easier and more pleasant.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We used a UK design resource to help us with user research, user experience, and interaction design. Once we had a rough idea of the features and the main user experience, I looked for a company to help with development, as well as with design and user interaction design. El Passion is a fully outsourced development service, so they were responsible for creating the infrastructure and setting up and configuring the cloud services. I’ve used them to develop both an iOS application as well as the entire web application that was serving as the backend for the iOS application. The backend itself consists of a web application written in Ruby with a fairly intense, large, and complex Elasticsearch Cluster.

El Passion also helped to develop a Natural Language Bot for Facebook Messenger. The bot can be used to find properties to rent, to book viewings and to ask the estate agents questions about the properties. We got the wireframes from our designers in the UK. El Passion spent a week with those designers, who helped them with user testing, finalizing the wireframes, doing some handover, and so forth. From that point onwards, El Passion created the high-fidelity designs. At some point, we had 7 team members from El Passion on the project—a designer, 3 backend developers, and 3 iOS developers. At present, there are 6 resources (3 frontend and 3 backend developers).

How did you come to work with El Passion?

I have a colleague who works in Warsaw. She recommended 4 development agencies in Warsaw to me. I interviewed all of them and shortlisted 2 that I thought would be the most suitable. We gave each of them a 4-day project, going through the entire Agile development process. In those 4 days, we did 8 development sprints, just so I could get an understanding of how they worked, what sort of discipline they have, and how they approach breaking down stories. After we’d done the 2 pilot projects, I chose El Passion as the best fit for our needs, and they were also the best fit culturally.

How much have you invested with El Passion?

We’ve spent $200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in August of 2016, and the work is ongoing. The app that we developed was launched into the App Store in April, but the project will be carried on until the end of June. When that project finishes, they will start with production support in the app, and there might be a second phase of the project later in 2017. If I have an opportunity to use them again, I most definitely will.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The entire app is an experiment, and the experiment is not finished yet. At this point in time, the usage is quite low, but that’s because we specifically don’t promote the app. We will measure the app quantitatively and qualitatively on user satisfaction and user happiness, which is a process that will officially start in July of this year. Our early prognosis is that there are loads of features, which our users absolutely love.

How did El Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve performed beyond our expectations. The projects were managed quite tightly, possibly because certain expectations were realistic. I’ve had a fairly rigid and hands-on role in the project management, so the combination of what I’ve brought to the table and what they’ve brought to the table made it one of the smoothest projects that I’ve ever worked on. Our project management tool is JIRA, so everything gets logged and recorded. We communicate mostly through Slack.

What did you find most impressive about El Passion?

The technical quality of the people I’ve worked with on the project was most definitely above average. Their commitment to the project was exemplary. I don’t think I’ve ever had any problem with commitment or them helping out in a crisis when things weren’t going exactly as they were supposed to be going. Both from an Agile perspective, as well as in general, I think their discipline and their coding are exceptional.

Are there any areas El Passion could improve?

They don’t normally take responsibility for production environments, but on this particular project, that was part of the arrangement. If there’s any room for improvement, it’s possibly getting some more experience in planning for production and releases. That’s not a major thing, though.

**Feedback Summary**: Expertise, professionalism and customer service are highlights of this partnership. El Passion's project management was very smooth and their flexibility with feature design allowed the client to remain within budget. They plan to work together again in the near future.
""We were paired with a front-end developer who was fantastic, super flexible, and easy to work with."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are a startup company in Ireland. We’re are trying to develop an online health care platform specifically focused on the elderly population, enabling them and supporting them to get access to home health care services in a more seamless and simplified manner. What we’re trying to achieve with the platform is to bring together different services into one area, simplifying the transfer of communication and processes for the older person and their family. That is a very high-level overview of what we’re doing.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with El Passion?

I am very fortunate to have a family member who is a developer. His strength and skill were in the backend development of the platform, so what we needed to find was a suitable front-end developer who could work with him on the project and who was familiar with Ruby on Rails.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

I am not a technical person; I am in healthcare, so it was a massive learning curve for me.

My product is a web-based application. In the initial stages, it was very much about scoping of the project. We met and discussed how we would work together and build the team, considering the skills my family member and I had and combining those with the skill set from El Passion. We were also trying to get an understanding of our roles in the project and what needed to be done. They used a lot of processes to help manage the establishment of goals, including the Scrum process. Communication was going to be a big thing because we were all in different locations and time zones. I was in Ireland, my family member was in the US, and obviously, El Passion was in Poland. It was a learning curve and a process of trying to figure out the best way to make this work and be successful. So, we applied the Scrum method and used tools like Agile Zen to create tickets and track goals.

The key feature is being able to search for private practice healthcare professionals who are available in your local area. It’s a simplified matching system for elderly people of families who are looking for particular support from a caregiver. If they’re looking specifically for an occupational therapist, a home-based assessment, an environmental assessment or a physiotherapist, they can search based on their service requirement compared to their location. With the booking process, you can review the profiles of the providers in your area based on your search return. You can see profiles, experience, and clinical skills of the professionals and then match them to your needs and proceed to make a booking request with the professional. Another feature that we incorporated is a personalized account for the customer. After they have booked a care professional, they have their dashboard along with the ability to create a profile. They can see booking requests, confirm bookings on their calendar, and see information on who is arriving and when. We try to make the process easier for the care provider. Upon completion of the session, they can add some communication notes into the platform, and they are available for the older person or the family members to be able to review easily.

Intermittently, throughout the project, I had update calls with our project manager, Karolina and with the CTO to make sure things were progressing. She was checking if we were satisfied with the work, the quality of the work, etc. We were very lucky we were paired with a front-end developer who was fantastic, super flexible, and easy to work with, which meant that we didn’t have any issues at all, thankfully. That was a concern of mine—trying to envision how we would all work together being geographically in different parts. Our language barriers alone made me question how this would work, but it was actually all so seamless. It was fantastic, and they were super supportive. Even for an early startup, like myself, it felt like there was a huge value placed on us as part of the team.

How did you come to work with El Passion?

We went through a process of reviewing potential candidates here in Ireland and the US. My husband had been searching on Dribble and found El Passion. After doing the research, we could see that they had experience working with Ruby and worked specifically with startups. That led us to contact them and initiate a discussion on the potential of getting a front-end developer from their team.

After that, we met with Karolina and two others from El Passion at Web Summit in Dublin. We discovered the kind of work they did and the kinds of clients they had, and we verified that they had the skill set required and the time available to work with us. Budget constraints were always a huge deal because we were limited regarding what we had and what we could pay for. They were the most flexible in being able to prioritize the key features that we wanted to focus on so that we could stay within our budget. That was massively helpful, for me particularly, starting off. Their flexibility, their professionalism, their past experiences, and their case studies based on other clients were what sold them to us.

How much have you invested with El Passion?

The project scope changed. We spent between $10,000 and $50,000 with El Passion. We started with an initial budget of $10,000 but it expanded as funding became available.

What is the status of this engagement?

I think March 2016 was the official kickoff. Phase one development was completed November 2016. I, unfortunately, had to take a step back from doing work the last couple of weeks, so progression has been slowed a little bit due to personal circumstances. We will be getting back into the launch with more traction and testing with a small population of care providers and customers over the next coming weeks.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

It’s hard to give you anything quantitatively because we haven’t had the opportunity yet to push it and test it. Qualitatively, from feedback from customers and from pilots that are tested with a target customer base and with care professionals, the feedback has been very positive in terms of the usability.

We employed a UX designer and web designer previous to our engagement with El Passion, so we have done a huge amount of work trying to make it easy to use. Since we didn’t get that from El Passion, it’s hard to pinpoint feedback specifically related to their input. Our case is slightly unusual because we used them specifically for one aspect. We didn’t use them for design, UX, backend, etc. so it’s hard to get feedback just on front-end development.

How did El Passion from a project management standpoint?

I was very new to this, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, to be honest. The tools they used to communicate and prioritize tasks, Scrum, Agile Zen, and Slack, made the process very easy. Working with an experienced developer who was used to using these tools made our lives a lot easier. If there were any issues, Karolina made sure everything was going according to plan and provided updates of where we stood. We set goals in relation to sprints and then prioritized within those sprint periods. So, from a project management standpoint, I think it worked as smoothly as it could have.

What did you find most impressive about El Passion?

I have never worked with any development agencies before, so I didn’t know what to expect and felt very apprehensive. El Passion will work with people like me who have no idea of what is going on. They can simplify a complex process and speak to you on your terms. They break down things very clearly. One of the fears I had was that I wouldn’t fully understand or appreciate the type of work that had to be done, but they worked with me to make sure I was very clear on what was happening. So that, along with their flexibility and their customer focus, was something hugely valuable to me during the whole process.

We completed phase 1 but there are aspects of the project that we are going to revisit and redo, and I will get in contact with El Passion definitely. They are my preference.

Are there any areas El Passion could improve?

Honestly, I can’t think of anything that was frustrating or challenging; it worked pretty well.

**Feedback Summary**: El Passion performed well for the client. Their work on the redesign of the website contributed to a significant increase in sign-ups. The client had no criticism for El Passion and the agency is highly recommended to others.
""EL Passion did everything fast and exactly the way we wanted. We are happy with the results.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your organization.

Our company is called Pattern Factory. We're a Helsinki based startup, which was established in 2009. We have one product called Patternry, which is a new tool for building style guides for UI [user interface] designers and developers. We are quite a small company of only three people.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

Our website design was outdated, and we needed to redesign it. We didn't have a designer on our team, so we went to a lot of different design agencies until we found EL Passion and started the project with them. They were primarily involved in the visual design of our website.

**SOLUTION**
How did you come to work with EL Passion?

The process of finding them took several months. We went to a lot of freelancers and smaller companies, looked at a lot of portfolios, and exchanged a lot of emails with a lot of companies. We completed two projects before we found EL Passion. It took a lot of time, but we were happy that we finally found them and did the project with them.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

We've spent about €10,000 [$11,200] working with EL Passion.

What is the status of this engagement?

We did the first project with them about a year ago, and another one about six months ago. There is no ongoing collaboration with them at this time.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics, metrics or other feedback from this engagement?

The number of sign-ups we got increased after the redesign. I'm not sure by how much, but it was more than 20 percent at least. That was the major goal for us, and it was perfect. They were great and exceeded our expectations.

What distinguishes EL Passion from other providers?

We worked with several other agencies before finding EL Passion, and we weren't that happy with the results. But, EL Passion was great. EL Passion did everything fast and exactly the way we wanted. We are happy with the results. Even though they are based in Poland, and we're in Finland, everything worked well.

Is there anything EL Passion could have improved or done differently?

Not really. It required a lot of work from us to set the wireframes and do all the things behind the design, but that's the way we wanted to do it. They also offered us the full package, but we didn't want that.

""EL Passion won't make promises they can't keep. ... I was especially amazed by how well they integrated with our team.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your organization.

We are located in Warsaw, so we're pretty close to EL Passion's headquarters. My company books online appointments for doctors. We are like the ZocDoc.com of Europe.

What is your position?

I am a product manager and currently head of mobile development.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We already had a mobile/web version of our product, but we needed apps, and we had no experience developing apps in-house. Outsourcing development to EL Passion seemed like a good idea.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

We have a team of developers at EL Passion that work full time for us. They're not doing any other projects while they are working for us, and I think that is special. Right now, they're pretty much part of our team. Their work includes product development and design. They've really become a part of the company.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

We know the co-founders of EL Passion. We knew that the people they hire are top notch, so we didn't have any problems in choosing them.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

I'm sorry, but that information is confidential.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with EL Passion in February 2012, and we are still working with them. For the first two years, we were not working with them on a full-time basis. Every two months, we'd just drop some tasks to EL Passion and waited for them to finish the development. Starting in January of this year, we switched to full-time developers at EL Passion.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Could you share any statistics, metrics or other feedback from this engagement?

Previously, we had some staff in-house working on the Android version, but after beginning work with EL Passion, we switched to them exclusively, since quality is important for us. For example, before joining with EL Passion, we didn't have any kind of continuous integration here. After bringing them onboard, we had that.

I'm a businessperson, so sometimes I really hated paying for testing but, at the end of the day, it's great that EL Passion takes care of the quality of the code as well as the product. Even more, we had some material designs, and the design language was new to us. EL Passion prepared some changes to our designs, which made conversions much higher. I'm constantly amazed by the people at EL Passion and by their knowledge.

What distinguishes EL Passion from other providers?

I would say they are open about what they can or can't do. EL Passion won't make promises they can't keep. They are open about how much quality work can be done. I was especially amazed by how well they integrated with our team. Today, our in-house development team doesn't feel like the mobile is outsourced to some agency. They're really a part of our team. That is awesome for me as a product manager.

Is there anything El Passion could have improved or done differently?

There was one decision we made, and we weren't aware that it could cause problems. With Android, we didn't go with native SDK [software development kit]. We prepared that in Groovy so, right now, we are pretty much the only app of this size in production written in that language. At the end of the day, the app is slower than it could have been if it were written in native SDK.

Giving them a free hand to choose a framework wasn't that great of a decision from a business or technology perspective. However, after giving them freedom, I learned that the combination of freedom from the client's side and project management from EL Passion produced good results. For example, one of our developers, who started as a junior level developer, is now, after only three months, a senior developer, just because of the coaching he received from EL Passion and the freedom we gave him. He is now really exploring and learning new things. After three months, he was ready to introduce a new junior level programmer to our project, which is great.

""We had strong support from their management team. I would say the difference was the commitment the EL Passion management team devoted to us.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your organization.

We are The Mobility House. We are based in Munich, and we've been in business since 2009, and we are working in the area of electric mobility.

What is your position?

I'm the head of IT [information technology].

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We had a project with one of the premium brand car manufacturers in Germany, and we had to develop a complete Ruby on Rails ecosystem and application. We were searching for near-shore resources that were experienced in Ruby on Rails, as it's very difficult to find those resources in Germany.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

The scope of work was pure website design and development and back-end and front-end development for our Web application.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

One of my employees knew another Polish guy, who referenced us to EL Passion.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

About €150,000 [approximately $162,000]. It was basically a team of six to seven people we had from July to April full time.

What is the status of this engagement?

That was around July 2014. Because the project was finished and there were no further requests from our client, we terminated the contract around the end of April, I think.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

Overall, excellent. They did a good job, definitely. It was a team, but we had one senior developer on the team who contributed more than 50 percent of the whole success, due to his good knowledge and lots of team management in Russia.

What distinguishes EL Passion from other providers?

We had looked at other agencies, and we decided on EL Passion basically because the price they gave us. During the course of the project, we had strong support from their management team. I think we had two times where we were not very happen with one of the team members, and we found a very open mind and spirit with the manager, and we got quick replacements. I would say the difference was the commitment the EL Passion management team devoted to us.

In hindsight, are there areas in which they could improve, or things you might do differently?

Although I'm very satisfied, of course when you're under time pressure to develop something because launch dates are not moving, there is always some area where you had better spend some more time. There's always room for improvement, but they did a good job basically.

""I think what makes EL Passion stand out is their understanding of design and their speed. With both projects, they hit it right on the point.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please provide an overall picture of your work with EL Passion.

I've worked with them twice while I was with two different companies. One project was a client portal for small business that could provide their customers access to information. On the second project, we were doing an African mobile app – a mini social mobile app – and they designed the interface.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What business challenge were you trying to address with EL Passion?

We had our own designers working on a project, but they weren't cutting it. We needed a company that could understand what we wanted and develop a rich yet simple and effective graphic. From looking at their previous work on their website, it seemed like EL Passion would fit the bill. We gave our designer another try, and we didn't like it. We gave EL Passion a try, and immediately knew that was what we wanted. We were so pleased with the first project that we came back for the next project.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

We did a kick-start with our designer, so that I could emphasize what I was looking for and show them samples. They took it all in and came back with their initial design. I was pleased with it, but I had a few corrections to make here and there. They made those for me, and then we continued to work that way. They would bring something in, I'd correct it, they'd bring the revised product, and we'd move on. I was impressed and, within a week or two, the project was completed.

How did you come to work with EL Passion?

I was doing a little Googling and looking at designs, and their design came up. I saw other clients that they had worked with, and I visited their sites. I liked what I saw, so I contacted them. Their account manager contacted me and asked what I wanted, and I gave them a brief description. We discussed the quote and how long the project would take, and I agreed. They gave me a contract, I reviewed it, I liked it, and signed it.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

I think the first project was about $6,000, and the second project was probably $3,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I contacted them in the beginning of the year [2015], but I wasn't ready to start working with them at that point. I would say that the first project ran from April or May and, within two or three weeks, it was done. Then, this second one was just completed two weeks ago – probably middle to late June.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
How did EL Passion perform from a project management standpoint?

They're great people. I thought that their being in Poland was going to be a problem, but it was as if I were working with somebody in the U.S. I had better communication with them than I'd have with someone who was in this country. I'm trying to think of anything that I had a problem with, and I truly can't think of anything. Working with then was very smooth.

The only thing that was difficult was that I originally thought I was going to get them in a certain week, but then they had to delay that because their previous client took longer than expected. That was not such a huge issue. Besides that, my all-around feedback is very positive.

They are experts at what they do. Once you understand where they're coming from with their approach and their comments, they're great people. They have been very professional. There were times where they wanted me to wire a payment, but I didn't want to drive 20 miles to my bank. They'd say, "Hey, we have PayPal." They were very accommodating.

What distinguishes EL Passion from other providers?

I think what makes EL Passion stand out is their understanding of design and their speed. With both projects, they hit it right on the point. I told them my requirements, I showed them examples, and they came back with a product that I really, really liked. By the time we were done, I was very impressed.

In hindsight, are there areas in which they could improve, or things you might do differently?

I would say that maybe initially getting in contact with them was a little hard because they are a busy company. But, besides that, nothing really.

""Their design work is fabulous, but their overall ability to deliver on schedule is atrocious. EL Passion couldn't meet a schedule if it hit them alongside the head.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company.

Yeti Data is a customer analytics company located in Silicon Valley. We're the next generation of big data analytics for customers.

What are your role and responsibilities?

I'm the founder and chief executive officer. I am responsible for everything except technical engineering.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What was your goal in working with EL Passion?

What we wanted them to do was build an app factory of different applications on top of our super-duper robust back-end. Since they were very much in the front end of things, like UI [user interface], what we wanted was for EL Passion to do kind of a front-end factory for us.

**SOLUTION**
Please describe the scope of their work.

The scope included UI, design, and implementation.

What was your process in selecting EL Passion?

We met with about 10 or so outsourcing companies, and what really sold us on EL Passion was their expertise in design.

Can you give a sense of the size of the initiative?

We've probably spent about a couple hundred thousand dollars working with EL Passion.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What were the results of the project?

Their design work is fabulous, but their overall ability to deliver on schedule is atrocious. EL Passion couldn't meet a schedule if it hit them alongside the head.

Our first design was supposed to take eight weeks and it took almost eight months, but some of that was our fault. They believe in this completely bottoms-up program management-less model. The reality is, unless there is some kind of a Gantt chart, some kind of a deadline, this bottoms-up approach can drag on forever. Instead of setting up a factory for us, what they've done is really set up one application, and the application itself was actually fairly buggy. We ended up spending a fortune on QA [quality assurance] with them to clean the thing up.

What differentiates EL Passion from others?

Their design ended up being really awesome. Now, remember, we're not your standard type of company. We have an enterprise-class mentality. Even though we use relatively off-the-shelf commercial Web technologies to show people how we work, there's a lot of robust enterprise class stuff on the back-end, which they weren't able to grasp because they're primarily a Web shop.

Looking back on the work so far, is there any area that you think they could improve upon or something that you might do differently?

They didn't have very good QA built into their process at all. We're a startup, and we can deal with some problems, but had I been using them from the get-go at a big company, they would have been long gone.

What advice would you give a future client of theirs?

Watch your schedule like a hawk. Don't get me wrong. We're still working with EL Passion, so it's not like we're totally negative on them. It's just that there is definitely a very clueless naiveté with regard to schedule that wouldn't fly in the United States.

## Portfolio & Awards

### EY - Utilizing AI to serve as a Compliance Officer
EY - one of the world's largest professional services networks, offers a wide range of services including consulting, assurance, tax, and transactional assistance.
In 2020, we helped EY build a Virtual Compliance Officer (VCO), a whistleblowing platform enabling anonymous misconduct reporting. Initially, compliance officers were given a variety of tools to smoothly manage all whistleblowing submissions, including a smart documentation repository, intuitive case management, and a chat panel.
Following conversations with their clients, to innovate and improve efficiency of the document repository, EY decided to utilize AI to create its first AI-powered Virtual Compliance Officer. GPT VCO minimizes manual tasks and provides employees with easy access to regulations and AI-powered chat for compliance-related questions.

The project centers around a self-service, AI-powered compliance portal that leverages EY's extensive document repository. To ensure the highest response quality, we utilized various AI models. Apart from OpenAI models, this includes an image processing model for extracting text from images and a Multi-language model. One of the biggest challenges in the project was to ensure the bot can generate embeddings, meaning to analyze and compare documents across various languages to verify compliance with both local and international regulations simultaneously.

### Lifeness - Personalized Obesity Treatment
At EL Passion, we’ve been collaborating with Lifeness on their product since its pilot launch in 2019. A core challenge has been sustaining obesity patients' motivation during weight loss. Without proper guidance, patients often struggle to stay on track, leading to setbacks.
Lifeness has demonstrated a significant impact through successful pilot implementations in 11 clinics, benefiting approximately 400 patients. A pilot study conducted by UiT Norwegian Arctic University revealed that Lifeness users exhibited 5x higher levels of motivation, satisfaction, and better treatment outcomes compared to non-users. Additionally, a Menon Economics report indicated that 80 percent of Lifeness users reported increased motivation compared to baseline, highlighting the solution's effectiveness in chronic disease management.
These achievements underscore Lifeness's role in transforming obesity care, offering a scalable, effective digital solution that improves patient outcomes and supports healthier communities. The combination of clinical validation and real-world success positions Lifeness as a leader in digital health solutions for chronic disease management.

### Natia Cares - Redesigning Mental Health App
Redesigning Enhanced Quality of Life App for Those Impacted by Cancer
Natia is an app dedicated to supporting individuals impacted by cancer, providing emotional, physical, and spiritual resources. The Natia Cares team understands the benefits of whole-person treatment and healing relating to cancer.
Natia Cares came to us to develop the very first version of the app 5 years ago. Now, the time has come for a refreshed version of the app and adding new features to improve the experience. The redesign focused on improving the information architecture to better organize and expand content, including introducing new categories with video and audio resources. The main goal of the project was the development of a new Personal Plan algorithm that analyses patients' questionnaire answers and provides personalized content to further support cancer patients.
A new user-friendly dashboard provides a Personal Plan that is customized for each user via an algorithm, ensuring that each user receives a personalized experience tailored to their cancer care needs. This algorithm is designed to adapt the content according to the questionnaire responses, present content relevant to the time of day, and determine the appropriate volume of activities based on their significance.

### Benefit Systems
UX Audit, UI Redesign, recommendations.

Benefit Systems offers a benefits program with many sports facilities for employees. Benefit Systems approached EL Passion and requested a sports facility research tool audit, recommendations from our team and enhancement of their existing solution.
Our UX & UI experts conducted a UX audit and redesigned the search tool in order to ensure it is a useful and intuitive product that users will love.
During the kick-off, we met with the client's team responsible for the search tool creation and received insight into the way the tool should work. Next, we proceeded with the analysis of the current solution in order to draft the scenarios for user testing.
We conducted 5 tests of the proposed solution with active Multisport users to identify the main areas for improvement. Based on the results of these tests our team provided Benefit Systems with recommendations and possible solutions. EL Passion designers prepared the clickable prototype presented to the client. After consultations and introducing some changes, our UX & UI team started working on the Visual Design phase of the project.
As a result of the efficient work of our experts, the client received a detailed audit of their initial version of the search tool as well as recommendations and ready-to-implement solutions to streamline the product. EL Passion Team provided Benefit Systems with the enhanced user experience of their search tool and a beautiful user interface.

### Lifeness - Empowering a Healthcare Startup
Lifeness, an award-winning Norwegian healthcare startup, sought to revamp their web presence to match their growing international recognition. They needed a fast, modern, and easily-manageable website that could be handled internally by their communications team. We were tasked with selecting the best technology and process for the project.
Working closely with Lifeness, we conducted a workshop with the client to establish the initial information architecture and carefully reviewed the startup's brand guidelines and vision. Through iterative steps of wireframing, UI design and Webflow development, a visually engaging website was created, optimized for minimal content. The site passed audits for SEO and accessibility, consistently achieving top scores in Lighthouse reports.
To improve the user experience, we used native Webflow features along with F'insweet Attributes, Weglot for content internationalization and custom code. The results included full UI design files, Webflow design with CMS configuration, and Weglot dashboard for content internationalization.
With our expertise and collaboration, Lifeness now boasts a modern and SEO-optimized website, providing a solid foundation for their continued growth and success in the healthcare industry.

### WP Player
WP Player is a highly configurable video component.
Wirtualna Polska is one of the largest Central European web portals and one of the leaders in offering new services on the market. When WP got a licence from the National Broadcasting it clearly defined its commitment to video production. The lifestyle of their users requires the materials to be accessible from any mobile device, putting the stability and availability in the first place. The project with which EL Passion was involved in is probably the biggest mobile project of this type in Poland, as well as in Central Europe.
The biggest challenge was to build a highly configurable component capable of working in various conditions, with different types of screens and devices, showing ads with multiple ad networks.
The team utilised the best practices to the maximum. We covered the code with extensive test suite (almost 100% code coverage) and built a demo app for user testing. Our Android team prepared very minimalistic documentation, as tests and example app served as a great reference themselves. Now the component is being used in a wide range of the WP Group applications, resulting in millions of install working seamlessly without one crash since day 1.

### TruckUp
TruckUp matches truck drivers in need of breakdown maintenance with mobile- mechanics, in real time.
We designed & developed the Truckup landing page. The primary goal was to make the designs mobile-first while not sacrificing the UX/UI experience. After the initial success of the website, we proceeded to cooperate on the iOS app for the product in the React Native technology.

### Sharefox
Sharefox enables companies to build new businesses related to renting and sharing resources.  Their rental booking management platform is their core service.
We assisted Sharefox in the complete redesign of the tool. Thanks to user testing & design research, we were able to fix the key users' pain points of the previous versions of the product.
The plan was simple: to enable Sharefox to provide booking services and do it with an intuitive and accessible tool for the users, so they do not have to create another spreadsheet ever again.

### Hyphen
Hyphen is an HR tool that analyses relationships between management and employees in the company. It collects feedback from the team and suggests actions that should be taken to keep the company on a good track.
We kicked off with the UX Strategy Workshop. It helped the client and us to understand the context of the user experience and core problems to solve. Based on the findings we focused on the UX architecture and key features. Our aim was to make the application easy to navigate and provide clear ways to jump between reports and survey lists. Base on our UX findings we designed the interface by leveraging Plant and Sketch's Shared Library features to optimize the design operations. To visualize data in a clear and readable way we used patterns such as bar charts, stacked charts, heatmaps and bubble graphs. Finally, we refreshed the Hyphen branding, including the typography, color palette, iconography and basic components.
After the new app designed was launched, the client reported positive feedback from both, new and existing customers. Improved UX of the product resulted in higher user engagement and increased sales numbers.

### Varner
Varner Group is one of the largest fashion retailers in Scandinavia that consists of reputable brands such as Dressman, BikBok, Cubus and many others.
We created a tool that boosts efficiency and optimizes sales, both in online and offline stores. Our experts took a dare and replaced old functionalities with AI-based dynamic pricing and campaign that enables Varner to adjust prices to stock status. With this new Markdown feature, Varner increased its revenues by 4.5M EUR during one seasonal sale alone. It was crucial to keep the tool fast and responsive due to the huge databases of items, while at the same time integrating it with numerous other Varner internal tools.
Our back-end and front-end teams delivered a maintainable solution, ready to implement. We used Nest.js framework, Cloud SQL, Elasticsearch for datastores and React.js on the front-end.
What matters most for us is the client's satisfaction summed up in words:"The solution will continue to have a huge impact on Varner's long term margins. They are knowledgeable and efficiently figure out solutions to roadblocks and problems."

### Vaultoro
Vaultoro is a platform to trade between crypto and physical gold. It provides access to professionally vaulted, fully insured gold and informs you of any news about cryptocurrencies.
Vaultoro wanted to build a fully-functional platform. EL Passion team started with frontend development, then UX and UI design of the platform. Aware of the client's requirements we created first stable code, using React.js, Next.js and SCSS.
Then EL Passion designers created website design, visual elements of all key screens of the product, among others dashboard and diagrams, all of it corresponding with the cryptocurrencies market. Clear and simple graphics made it easy to navigate through the page and coherent web and mobile screens layout made it more usable and enjoyable for people. In the end, we implemented CMS to the system. The cooperation went smoothly and within the timeline.

### Mednavi
Mednavi is an innovative web platform from the health tech sector. It provides cancer-diagnosed patients with one complex database that includes not only cancer treatment possibilities but also a clear map of clinics specializing in particular types of care.
EL Passion's cooperation with Mednavi started with a two-days UX Strategy Workshop during which we identified the project's vision and possible restraints. Thanks to previous research backed up with in-depth user testing we created a convenient product, easily navigable for users. Additionally, we designed the whole new brand identity with typography and a color palette that reflects professionalism and trust. In the next steps, we went from UX Design, via UI Design to the development of the product.
The biggest challenge was waiting for our back-end and front-end teams. They developed an admin panel that generates diagrams with suggested cure paths for patients. In addition, they implemented a payment and invoice system connected with the user's e-mail address.

### Joystream
Joystream is a blockchain platform operated by its users.
EL Passion's task was to create a full brand identity reflecting the brand's joyful spirit, feeling of community and freedom.
At the very beginning, the client came to us for a test-run. We conducted a design workshop that helped us to get a better understanding of the platform, its assets and tech challenges. This showed us that the product so unique requires a fully individual approach. We created a powerful branding from scratch, combining symbols of the ancient culture with modern technologies. In the next steps, we sketched  an unusual logo, illusrations, and iconography using mosaic and geometrical patterns. Creating a branding palette we applied three primary colors: white, blue and black that indicate key values of the company.
Not only have we designed a full brand identity but we also had a chance to incorporate it into a new & refreshed Landing Page for the platform.
To ensure smooth front-end delivery, a front-end developer was consulting the project already during the UX/UI design phase. When the design assignment was finished, he started working on the project full-time. On the front-end, we used static site generator Gatsby and hosted the website on Netlify. To meet all Joystream's requirements regarding UI we utilized Storybook for creating component library and Enzyme for snapshot testing.
The whole team delivered a fully-functional and modern website for Joystream. The product got positive feedback both from the business owners and final users.

### femtasy
The client was a German startup on a mission to revolutionise audio content market targeted at women in the DACH countries. They wanted to develop a progressive web app with a subscription-based audio streaming service with erotic stories.
In order to recognise the needs of femtasy, we proposed them a session of two workshops: Design Workshop and Scoping Session.
The first workshop was focused on analysing the target audience through empathy maps and reviewing the client's research findings. We created 2 personas for femtasy's users and defined a high-level customer journey for the application. To finish the session with tangible outputs for the next stages of the project, we conducted a Design Studio. We focused on the most problematic areas from the user's perspective - steps in the journey which could be difficult mostly on an emotional level.
During the second workshop, EL Passion team worked on a detailed customer journey, where all the steps were listed, along with decision trees and prioritisation for future steps. Within a couple of productive hours, we have built the initial product backlog for 3 versions of the application, trying to prioritise the features to provide maximum value for the users.
Both workshops allowed us to leverage the client's knowledge and our expertise to kick-start the project with a solid foundation and a sharp focus in mind. It helped us cut the time spent on establishing the details of the cooperation, user journey and let us start working on first screens straightaway.
32000+ orgasms achieved. Over 140 stories and growing 5 every week.

Docplanner is an app available in 25 countries in multiple language versions. But it is not only the language that differs. Depending on the region, Docplanner apps offer different sets of features.
Our goal was to deliver the iOS and Android apps together with the Docplanner mobile team within a really tight timeframe.
To deal with numerous combinations of language settings and features, we built one code base that is configured depending on the country's requirements and so multiple compatible app are constantly monitored by CI (continuous integration) servers.
As fast delivery was crucial for the client, the collaboration process needed to be quick and smooth. Our mobile development team kept in constant contact with the Product Owner (Head of Mobile Development at Docplanner). Thanks to an effective decision process, we delivered high-quality mobile apps in no time.

We were also responsible for the full web development of the Tellius' website to show off the platform's core functionalities. The main challenge of our cooperation was to make Tellius a bulletproof selling tool.
We kicked-off by creating a general communication concept, backed up with mood boards and coloraturas schemes along with the new company logo. All to make up a good foundation for the Tellius' refreshed brand identity.
As the next step, we prepared the website's key visual corresponding to the Tellius' main feature focus. This enabled us to create the full information architecture for the website and its final visual layer.
Our Front-end developers turned the mockups into a fully-functional website. The application of HTML and CSS enabled us to create easy-to-use templates that the client can conveniently update and rearrange.

### Pioner Labs
Pioner Labs is a rapidly growing Norwegian company that architects, designs and develops state of the art digital products.
The EL Passion team's task was to look into how client’s product information is managed, what the issues with online merchandising are, and the type of product information managers encounter daily.
We were asked by the client to observe and analyze their processes in order to provide an external perspective on how a Product Information Management (PIM) tool should be constructed.

### The Mobility House Web App
The Mobility House is a leading service provider for charging solutions and installation services in Europe.
The team’s biggest challenge was to organize the complex ordering process and turn it into a well-structured system. The methodologies we use on a daily basis (UX, Agile, Lean and XP) were a game-changer in allowing us to fulfil these complex requirements. By combining several of these methodologies, we created a custom system that visualises the whole process and, at the same time, allows to set up and configure from scratch.
‘We were able to deliver our three project releases without a single day of delay. The company's name says it all. We could see, feel and enjoy the passion of this team contributing to our success story.’ - says Andreas Lahr, Head of IT at The Mobility House.

### Cobo Wallet
Cobo Wallet is the feature-rich and one of the most secure POS wallets, offering first-to-market financial products that empower users to accurate interest and dividends from their crypto holdings.
The previous website design was outdated and incoherent with the mobile app and the company's mission to deliver a clear and easy to use tool for storing and using cryptocurrencies.
EL Passion designers created responsive up-to-date website design corresponding with the company's mission and cryptocurrencies market. Getting right to the point, clear design enabled the customer to easily find all the information needed about Cobo Wallet. The unified design was inspired by the mobile app and the main goal to be in line with the company's transparency.
We used responsive design to make sure all the users can access the website and get the needed information. Clear and simple graphics made it easier to navigate through the page and underlined the trust the company wants to establish with customers.
We created a design for a responsive web app for the company to develop. Over 20 subpages were designed to meet the requirements of the client, current trends and to facilitate the company's mission.

### Wunderpass
UX, UI (re-design), App & Landing Page Design
Wunderpass is a global loyalty program for travellers. All of Wunderpass's attractions and experience are quality-vetted. Ken Yip, the Founder approached us asking for some additional material for an already existing design, but upon seeing how we work he decided to redesign the whole concept.
It took the whole process and a lot of work to create an exceptional design. Web design is supposed to provide existing customers with great experience, attract new customers and has to look good on across all screens, no matter the device, resolution or screen density. A landing page created by EL Passion Team was designed to catch the eye of new customers and make them want to try out the product. But the customer's journey does not end there. It is also the flow that a user follows from the first visit, through collecting information, signup process and the very first use, to the exit moment. We've used several methodologies in order to explore all the user's needs. We've detected all the details, such as a signup form, that could have a tremendous impact on user acquisition.

### Remitsy - web app
UX/UI Design | Front-end | Back-end
Remitsy uses Bitcoins to make fast payments to your international suppliers.
Remitsy wanted to quickly start the project with a long list of constraints including security, legal and technical aspects. Another challenge was to integrate all the legal and security issues into a usable interface. On the other hand, the service did not have a direct competitor, so we had a lot of freedom when it comes to the design.
Each time we face a tight timeframe, we thank ourselves for the hard work and engagement we invest in perfecting our processes on a daily basis. Thanks to them, we were able to smoothly go through the design and development phases. Our approach helped to kickstart and deliver the first working version really fast.
