Our client, a sustainable high-performance wood brand, was looking to increase awareness of its benefits amongst architects to drive demand for the product. 

A critical element to an architect's role is ensuring that they design with the needs of communities in mind. This means they must not only collaborate with the supply chain, but with developers, councils, and the public to ensure they are not only designing buildings, but also creating spaces that are safe, sustainable and represent the communities that live there.

Having had in-depth discussions with the architects to understand what campaign would make an impact, we recommended a campaign centred upon ‘Genius Loci’. Roughly translating to ‘The Spirit of the Place’, ‘Genius Loci’ is a philosophical brand of architectural phenomenology referring to the preservation of heritage and culture.

The campaign put architects front and centre via a series of tactics including the development of a three-part video series discussing what the ‘Spirit of the Place’ means to architects.

We selected three architects who each led an episode of the series. Each architect chose a place that was important to them - so they could talk authentically about what the place means to them, how this has inspired their work today, and how they reflect culture and heritage in their designs.

Eight Engines was critcal to helping us develop the storylines that would resonate with our client's target audience and ultimately capture the 'Spirit of the Place'.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

At the beginning of the campaign, we agreed three objectives with the client and set key performance indicators to measure success for each. Eight Engines helped us meet or surpass all:

Start direct conversations and build relationships with the target audience to influence purchasing decisions. KPIs:

• Target: 3+ ongoing partnerships with architects
• Achieved: 3 ongoing partnerships with architects and decision-makers at Bond Bryan, Morris + Company and Chapman Taylor
• Target: Ongoing promotion of the content via third party channels (5+ posts/shares by architects/architectural firms)
• Achieved: 5 posts by architects/architectural firms (and 50 total reposts/shares)

Build brand awareness for Accoya amongst key target audiences via brand mentions in the right places. KPIs:

• Target: 20,000+ impressions
• Achieved: 29,490 impressions (and reached 79,123)
• Target: 500+ organic engagements
• Achieved: 641 organic engagements 

Demonstrate Accoya as a brand with a purpose by positioning it as a thought-leader when it comes to preserving heritage, culture, and communities. KPIs:

• Target: 3+ informative videos housed on Accoya’s website

• Target: 80%+ positive feedback from people who comment on or engage with the content 
• Achieved: 100% positive feedback from architects, including third parties requesting to create follow up video content about the places, for example Huddersfield Town FC featured as one of the sites some of the filming for one of the architects took place. The club saw our video and asked the architect to feature in a video for themselves about the stadium and the club which is now live on the LinkedIn profile
• We had positive feedback from the places represented in the series, who felt a particular emotional attachment to the videos and apprciated the way their city had been captured

Eight Engines was incredibly helpful throughout the project. The team was always on hand to support with questions and advise. For example, filming in cities was complicated due to laws on where you can and can't film. I was not familiar with these rules before the project so this was critical to understand how this could impact the end result. Knowing Eight Engines had done their due diligence gave me peace of mind and meant I knew I had a video team I could rely not only to deliever a successful project but also overcome any challenges.

Throughout the project, within my own agency, we were not only conscious of our own needs and what we wanted to achieve but also of the client and their expectations. It was important to have a reliable video partner who could help answer their questions too, and deliver to a timely schedule, particularly as there were lots of moving parts, not only within our own campaign but also client side. Eight Engines recognised this, helping in any way they could and adapting to our needs.

In addition feeling like we were in a safe pair of hands with the help and support Eight Engines provided throughout the project, on the filming days, it was great to see the team's passion and attention to detail.

Each team member played their role in understanding the brief and carefully capturing the perfect shot, selecting the right camera, or taking the time to ensure sound was clear. This continued in post production too, to ensure our client would be pleased!

Their team's work also put the architects at ease in what could be quite a daunting experience. This gave them the confidence to present on camera and collaborate with the crew to select locations that meant something to them - which was essential to achieving the brief. Each architect stated how much they enjoyed the filming days and how impressed they were by the videos.

The Scope Of Works that were delivered by eight engines for our charity video was to showcase our brand new race cars being driven by people with disabilities around a race circuit and the impact of this unique driving experience. Eight Engines successfully produced stunning cinematic footage of these cars in action enabling us to tell our story of how our driving activity actually is more than a driving experience because of the ripple effect it is hugely impactful on friends and family members and also on a growing number of volunteers who just love being involved in helping the charity deliver an all round first class driving experience like no other. This content will help the charity gain more interest from business who actively engage with Environmental Social Governance impact  with a view to partnering with Speed of Sight

Race Cars in Action: Footage of the new race cars on track, highlighting their performance and accessibility.

            •           Participant Driving Experiences: Document each guest driver (who may be blind or have other disabilities) in action. Capture close-ups of their reactions, expressions, and interactions before, during, and after the driving experience.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Capture video and imagery of six members of a charity called The Electric Cranks. The members took part in a 125 mile coast-to-coast bike ride whilst fitted with LVAD (electric heart pumps) which means they no natural heartbeat. They wanted to raise awareness of organ donation whilst raising £10k for New Start charity, which supports transplant patients at Wynthenshawe Hospital by riaising the funds need to provide high-level, long-term, after care needs. The images and footage were shared with media outlets as part of a PR approach, and also used for our client's promotional team and marketing assets.

The footage was used as expected, as both b-roll in BBC coverage of the project, images in The Times and regional newspapers, and as part of the client's marketing assets.
