In my 20 years of marketing experience, Eight Engines is top tier when it comes to film and video production. Not only are they highly skilled and experienced at what they do, but they have always exceeded expectations and made the most from the brief and budget, injecting lots of their own creativity, innovation, and professionalism along the way. 

A very easy company to work in partnership with. If you are looking for broadcast quality video production that’s well within most company marketing budgets, I highly recommend Jack Leigh and his team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Eight Engines could have done differently?

Their approach and project management surpassed our expectations, and therefore, I have no suggestions for improvement.

Engagement on LinkedIn posts that we used the videos in increased over standard text/picture posts. Gained enquiries for the retreat as a result of the posts.

Jack was thorough in his approach to the preparation for my videos - the strategy meeting we had beforehand really challenged my thought process and absolutely made for a better end product because of the changes we shaped along the way. The whole 8 Engines team were a delight to work with. Meticulous planning in setting up the lighting and sound, we got all the videos ‘in the can’ in very few takes. The plan had been to have 3 videos, and my speaker had brought a change of waistcoat for each section. However, we made changes through the day that added a 4th summary video and Jack's team was very flexible in accommodating these. 

It was then that we spotted the possible inconsistency of flow and avoided WaistcoatGate by doing a quick reshoot - nothing was too much trouble. I recommend anyone wanting to show their own business as being top quality to pick 8 Engines as their film company of choice. The quality of the end product will say as much about your company as it does about Jack and the team.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Loved the humour of everyone in the company; they were friendly, and they put us at ease; They were thoughtful in their approach to planning and gently challenged our thinking to improve the results.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Eight Engines could have done differently?

The only thing now is that while most of all the videos is "evergreen" and can be used for other projects, we included facial shots of my speaker talking about the date of the retreat. Had we done this as a cutaway voiceover, it would have been easier to modify for future projects. I wouldn't say this should be an improvement suggestion for Eight Engines, as it's my project and I should have considered this!

We've worked with Eight Engines numerous times on different projects. This series of projects, however, needed more input and collaboration. One project was a piece to capture our audience's attention for a project based on sustainable fashion. The other was a series of content for a show we were producing that needed to tell stories across different decades of time.

Both projects needed creative input from their team. As much as we come up with creative ideas, their knowledge and experience was invaluable in shaping the final creative approaches and executions. Alongside creative direction, they helped with sourcing footage, filming footage, ensuring the narratives flowed well, editing and motion graphics.

We were looking for a company that could show the history and progression of our company. We've been around for almost 60 years so we were keen to show where we started and where we are at now and to focus on our team, who make it possible to supply the high quality, advanced equipment we manufacture here on site.

The end result was a production that aligned perfectly with what we were hoping to achieve. Whilst we had an idea of what we wanted, we wouldn't have understood just how to get there. Eight Engines ran with the brief outline we gave them and produced something that everyone who has seen it has been very impressed with.

I’m the group campaign manager for Cash for Kids, a charity that provides grants to support disadvantaged children across the UK affected by poverty, illness, neglect, or additional needs.

What challenge were you trying to address with Eight Engines?

We needed support producing a video to highlight the partnership between Cash for Kids and Stand Out Socks.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Eight Engines conceived, scripted, shot, and edited the primary film. The team also provided additional social media cuts. The content was filmed at Stand Out Socks and with Cash for Kids at Hits Radio's studios in Manchester.

What is the team composition?

We worked with three teammates from Eight Engines.

How did you come to work with Eight Engines?

A mutual connection referred Eight Engines to us. We chose them because they really wanted to support both Cash for Kids and Stand Out Socks.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June 2025–September 2025.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Eight Engines delivered a primary video that celebrated the partnership and encouraged people to buy the socks when they went on sale. Everyone involved was extremely happy with the result.

Engine Eights provided us with two videos. They came to our office to shoot a training video which consisted of various training parts. On our second video, they visited our customer's site and filmed at the factory's production site.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was delivered in a short space of time in parellel with one another. If they needed more time in the delivery of an aspect of the project, they had communicated this with me first to see whether there was flexibility. The first filmed draft was provided within the perceived time frame that allowed sufficient editing to a tight deadline.  We knew this project would be tight to deliver. The team were dedicated and committed in completing the job - they went the extra mile!

Considering this was a tight turnaround, they had done a fantastic job! They reviewed the script quickly and re-organised it to how it would be directed on site. They were adaptable to any last-minute changes, which reflected the professionalism the team had. They took care of the screen recordings which was brilliant and worked well with the people they were filming with.

The professional way they worked through what we wanted from the video. They made sure they properly understood the purpose of the video and helped us make decisions that enhanced the finished product. The warmth and professionalism of the film makers on the day was exactly what was needed. Schools are complex and volatile places, and they navigate their way through what they want to achieve within this ever-changing environment. In post production they were very happy to consider edits and amendments. Whilst they were the experts, they were willing and able to listen to us.
