The went through a discovery process to establish our goals and understand our brand. We then created a budget and strategy and created assets to execute.

Once the campaign was live, eBoost reviewed performance on a daily basis to optimize the ads and we met weekly to review performance. Once we established a "rhythm" we changed to bi-weekly meetings. eBoost continues to review the account daily to continue learning and optimizing performance.

They also have identified issues with the website, and helped up recognize fraudulent activity on the account very quickly which helped us to avoid some serious issues.

The project was way more successful than we had hoped. We were originally targeting a 2-3 ROAS that we hoped would get to a 4 over time. Within the first month of the project we were seeing ROAS between 5-8x weekly.

eBoost has been very organized and clear. The account representatives are dedicated, thorough and help keep us on track with clear communication and follow-up.

My team select eBoost after having interviewed 6 different marketing companies and freelancers. The deciding factor was the detailed outline of how eBoost would take our marketing budget from zero and turn it into a profitable customer acquisition tool.

As soon as we decided to work together, we had a kickoff meeting to discuss market research with pricing and marketing angles giving us an idea of how we wanted to launch our product plus the budget to get things off of the ground. We as a company ensured all advertising copy used our brand voice.

We supplied assets including images, logos, colors, and videos which eBoost took to create the initial set of ads. Eboost took those assets and set up multiple campaigns in FB ads manager splitting the budget between lead gen, prospecting and retargeting groups.

Their main focus for us is PPC, which includes inorganic searches, Facebook Ads, and Google AdWords campaigns. They run all of our website content as well. We meet with them once a month to go over things and they will present us with a report comparing the previous month and how we did in the same month last year. They are very diligent in their reporting and making it understandable.

We started with Eboost because our owner worked with them through another business of his. We wanted to bring them in to help grow this new venture after we saw what they did with this other related business.

We began working together in July 2011 and continue to do so on a daily basis.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

eBoost is integral in bringing in a majority of our business. We consistently rank in the top 3 of search results for our keywords, and we pretty much owe that all to them. We attribute around 75% of our inbound leads to our digital marketing, which is entirely run by eBoost. They have really become an integral part of our team.

How did eBoost perform from a project management standpoint?

They have been great. They will send daily updates on the website, and they are very responsive when we need anything from them. They are also great with deadlines and getting their work in on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are great at being self-starters. Before they come to a meeting they will test keywords and new groups to present without us even asking. We have also become very close with them on a personal level. They really care about the intimate details of their client’s business and have become an extension of our own brand.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There is nothing I can think of. If we have a complaint they handle it right away.

Do you have any advice for potential clients?

I would say to make sure that you understand eBoost is a small-scale consulting firm so they are going to really dive deep into your project. They want to know a lot about how your business runs and they will critique you when need be. Doing that helps them do their best work, so if you are not committed to them it is going to be really difficult to achieve sustained success. The results will not come over night, but they have proven success that will pan out in the long term.

eBoost runs all our digital marketing campaigns. In addition to PPC, they write copy for organic rankings and blogs. Concurrent SEO services focus on geotargeting to filter out-of-state leads.

The team has also set up links and redesigned our website, using my input to guide the process. We prioritized this project early in the engagement because we wanted to maintain marketing levels during the recession.

As part of a year-long conversion rate optimization campaign, we’ve tested different main pages and identified where users exit the site. We’ve looked at calls to action, visit duration, and best development practices to resolve this issue.

In 2017, we tiered thousands of keywords into A, B, and C lists, based on leads’ potential value. We assigned terms such as “space planning” and “office design” – which generally lead to larger projects – to the "A" list. The "C" list included keywords such as “file cabinets”. We then tracked emails and phone numbers to manage our average spend per lead, which ranges between $40–$50. eBoost established PPC budgets that correlated to the tiered lead generation budgets, ranging $20–$100 per lead.

Currently, they manage our blog and create a few monthly posts. We have a Facebook account and print catalog. Since we’re regional, certain channels, such as Instagram, aren’t appropriate.

We generate $2.4 million in annual sales. The annual marketing budget has decreased from 6% to 2–3% in recent years; it’s now $100,000. The direct correlation between increased lead generation and decreasing costs is a great advantage.

The tiered system helps us address spending; more expensive leads don’t provide good ROI for smaller purchases. Consequently, traffic, conversions, and sales have increased year-to-year. Phone calls and emails help our bottom line; print ads no longer make sense for our business model.

eBoost served on an industry tradeshow panel. They projected a Google search in which our ad was the first organic result, the first paid result, and the first side-paid result. Clearly, the team had been ranking our company effectively.

Prior to this engagement, I had gone through four or five SEO companies; each one over-promised. eBoost stands out because they use white hat SEO practices; I never worry about being penalized for their actions. Amazon Marketing Services is increasingly crucial to our e-commerce activities. They’re starting to implement more solutions in that area. However, I can’t criticize this lag because eBoost is current with best practices.

The SEO field is always changing; it requires active participation. I have talked to colleagues who complained about a lack of sales. They always tell me that they’d built a website, set it up, and didn’t achieve results. A company can’t build a site, launch it, and assume that people will find it.

The biggest issue business owners have is understanding the return on spend. SEO requires a holistic approach. The business owner has to be part of the process, given that they’re in the best position to know what will and won’t work from a marketing perspective. The team depends on the client to review keyword lists and other items. Adjusting keywords and campaigns on an ongoing basis will lead to positive results. Reviewing wireframes and keyword lists can be tedious, but it’s necessary for success.
