The platform includes three tools: Chat for document search and discovery, Summary for content creation from multiple files, and Translator for word-for-word translation across 100+ languages. EGS handled backend architecture, frontend, the document processing pipeline, SharePoint sync, unlimited seat provisioning, and the multilingual interface.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Customers report producing marketing content in under 30 seconds from their own technical data. The Translator tool eliminated expensive manual translation for our Japanese-based customers. We onboarded customers across manufacturing, foundries, and associations with full organizational adoption. Platform uptime and security have consistently met enterprise IT requirements.

Smooth Transition: The biggest win for us was the zero-downtime migration. Moving a complex ESG platform while people are actively using it is nerve-wracking, but they pulled it off without a single user complaint.
Faster Performance: After switching to Java Spring and microservices, the platform just feels much snappier. Our data processing for large GHG reports is noticeably faster than it was on the old Django setup.
Peace of Mind: Having them on board for two years of maintenance has been huge. We don't worry about system stability anymore because their team is proactive—if something small pops up, they usually fix it before we even notice.
Scalability: We’ve grown a lot since the project started, and the new architecture hasn't broken a sweat handling the 3x increase in our data load and user traffic.

We worked in bi-weekly sprints, which kept everything transparent. They mainly used Azure DevOps to track tasks and Slack and Teams for daily communication, so we were always in the loop.
The major migration milestones were met on schedule. For the ongoing maintenance part over the last two years, they’ve been great at prioritizing urgent fixes without letting the routine updates slip behind.
What I appreciate most is their "can-do" attitude. Whenever we had a sudden change in ESG reporting requirements or needed to scale up the team (they grew to 6-10 people for us), they reacted quickly. They don't just follow instructions blindly; they often suggested better technical ways to implement our ideas, which saved us a lot of headache during the Java Spring refactoring.

From proposal to reality - Eastgate took our proposal to enhance the TeachLink platform making it more usable for educators.  Our project consisted of several key deliverables:

• Bring in additional student data without compromising the security and provacy of students.  We integrated testing data uploads for student populations - which allows a big picture and individualized look at the students.  
• Lesson planning upgrades - Collaboration allows teachers to work as a team, track standards for the school year, and search plans 
• Addition of accommodations for special education students - schools have the ability to customize forms that they need to keep for students requiring extra help or physical needs.
• Add a way to monitor teacher morale - a daily quiestion/survey that administrators can quicikly review for immediate staff needs.
• Create an AI ready environment - 
  • Put pieces in place allowing student analysis to indicate where intervention may be necessary or where we can push a student for higher acheivements.
  • Create differentiated lesson plans in moments to help teachers prepare and manage classrooms of students at varying levels and abilities.

Kien and the Eastgate team were easy to work with and communicated mostly through email that included graphics.  We did meet with the team via video call twice during the project. We found them to be helpful and willing to complete the tasks that we set out in the project proposal.  Each time we discussed the phases of the project we were impressed with the concise and thorough project scope that was reiterated back to us.  The timeline was met in a resonable manner with the occasional (and expected) delay coming due to communication or thought process time being needed on our end.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We were able to successfully launch the product for our end-client. They are satisfied with the way the analytics and recommendation tool can engage millions of users. The product also attracts more traffic for their products.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

Everything was very smooth; our project manager was PMP certified. They applied Scrum methodology, making communication very fast and efficient.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality of the work and their professional style was impressive.

Are there any areas where they can improve?

My only suggestion is to create more documents, such as a user’s manual. There is very little else they could improve on.
