For example, Eagerworks has built new APIs to integrate with other applications, created new reporting and tracking tools, and automated and scaled our current application to make it more dynamic and accommodate many clients and customers.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Eagerworks has worked in two-week sprints and delivered features on time with accuracy and functionality. Thanks to their work, we’ve been able to onboard new clients with ease, and new features have been deployed with immediate adoption and use. These features have added necessary functions for operational efficiency.

Eagerworks' communication has been stellar, and their project management is very efficient. We’re in constant communication regarding timelines and deliverables, and the team has had minimal to no delays. We communicate through virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

Eagerworks is super quick to learn about our business and needs. The team has come up to speed fast and has been able to make an immediate impact on our platform. The teammates assigned to the project are super knowledgeable and efficient in delivering immediate results.

eagerworks has enhanced our platform's response time, created new admin portals, and cleaned up our code. The team has also made onboarding and feature management easier. Moreover, eagerworks has implemented new APIs and delivered more stable code with minimal interruptions.

eagerworks is great at setting proper expectations and then meeting or exceeding them. We communicate via Slack and Google Meet.

Scope of work: To develop a cross-platform mobile app (IOS, Android) that connected to health services (Google Health, Apple Healthkit, Amazon Healthlake) to help user's track their health through charts, alerts, etc. Additionally users can annotate events and track medications.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• We met regularly (at least once a week conference and continuous discussions on Slack as needed) where they shared updates through demos
• We got to use the app and provide feedback which they immediately addressed
• They identified ambiguities with workflows and came up with solutions (that included a review of UI/UX from their team)
• Most technical issues were fully managed by Eagerworks, getting our input only where necessary which gave us a lot of time to focus on other areas of our startup.

Their communication was really good from the start. Agendas would be shared on slack prior to meetings, demos were always on time, and bugs/glitches within project scope were tackled in a timely fashion. Their business development team also checked in mid-project to ensure we were happy with their service.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We were impressed with a lot of their abilities, but I was most impressed with the clear communication from their technical team members (on what they needed, what they were working on) and their actual work output -- where they had thought of a lot of corner cases that we may encounter and tackled them before we even got to use it the first time.

Are there any areas for improvement or something eagerworks could have done differently?

As a start up, one thing we could have done a bit better was to define the scope even better. Both sides could have spent a bit more time in the beginning to think through the user experience/interface. But because they were flexible with this (knowing scope may not be airtight), we got a lot done in a very short timeframe.

Scope and Context

1.1 The Company (hs.credit) engages the Contractor (Eagerworks) to provide UX/UI design and frontend development services aimed at revamping and improving the existing platform (“Platform”). The services will be delivered in two phases: a UX/UI design phase followed by a front-end development phase.

1.2 The scope of the project has been defined and agreed upon in the shared document titled "hs.credit Roadmap," which has been reviewed, revised, and approved by both parties.

Phase 1: UX/UI Design

2.1 Objective: Redesign and improve the user experience and interface of the existing platform to enhance usability, aesthetics, and overall performance.

2.2 Timeline: The design phase will commence on Thursday, December 26, 2024, and is expected to take 5 to 6 weeks.

Phase 2: Frontend Development

3.1 Objective: Optimize and enhance the functionality of the current features and address identified opportunities for improvement based on the platform audit and design phase insights.

3.2 Timeline: The development phase will commence between the 4th and 5th weeks of the design phase and will run for approximately 1.5 to 2 months, with a targeted completion by mid-March 2025. This timeline aligns with the client's April 2, 2025 conference presentation.

3.3 Team and Effort:

Two frontend developers (1 Junior Developer at USD 40/hour and 1 Semi-Senior Developer at USD 50/hour) working full-time.
An Engineering Manager dedicating an average of one hour per day to provide technical supervision, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines, at no additional cost to the client.

Backend Development Services
4.1 Scope: Eagerworks will provide backend development services through an official partner specializing in Python, the language in which the current backend is written. Eagerworks’ internal team will manage and collaborate closely with this partner to ensure seamless integration and effective progress.

4.2 Process:

The backend developer will work based on the needs and requests identified by Eagerworks’ development team.
Eagerworks will manage the backend developer’s workload and centralize communication with hs.credit, ensuring alignment and efficiency.

4.3 Validation and Approval:

The backend developer will provide a weekly estimation of the hours required, which will be reviewed and validated by hs.credit (specifically by Nadav Zeimer).
Once validated in writing, these hours will be added to the project’s scope and budget.

4.4 Responsibilities:

Basic backend tasks, where feasible, may be addressed by Eagerworks’ internal team to save time and reduce costs.
Complex backend tasks outside Eagerworks’ expertise will be escalated to the Python backend developer for resolution.
Eagerworks will work collaboratively with the third-party backend provider to ensure efficient and high-quality development.

Eagerworks was a remarkable partner. They consistently went above and beyond to meet our needs and exceed our expectations. Whenever we faced a roadblock, they brought in additional external talent—often at no extra cost—to resolve it. Although their team is based in Montevideo, Uruguay, it felt like the entire tech community there was behind our project.

I was so impressed that I traveled to Uruguay to meet the team in person. It was astonishing to see how many skilled developers contributed to our project for such a reasonable cost. The final product was universally praised, and the entire experience was truly outstanding.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The depth of Eagerworks’ accessible talent pool is extraordinary. While they have around 50 engineers under one roof, our project also benefited from experts at other technology partners across Montevideo, Uruguay. The city’s tech culture fosters a remarkable level of collaboration—companies often step in to support each other and elevate the entire sector. I’ve never seen anything like it: top-level engineers from other firms pitched in on our code, sometimes for free, simply because they had downtime. Many of them have known each other since childhood, reflecting Montevideo’s tight-knit community. Hiring Eagerworks was akin to hiring a large tech family with countless “uncles” and “cousins” who were readily available with diverse, specialized skill sets.
The team set a cap on what the project would cost me. I know that they went over that cap by tens of thousands of dollars but only charged me based on that initial cap set.
I cannot imagine a better team to work with if you are building a software product in NODE.js, specifically. That is their expertise.

I certainly had issues and feedback throughout the build process but each time the team responded so thoughtfully that I would not list them for improvement any more. As long as you communicate your needs clearly with the team they will find a way to solve any issues once and for all.

The results of the project are clearly seen and felt when using the Gambit MVP - beta version of the app - available for both iOs and Android. 

We have begun to onboard our first batches of beta testers, who have communicated glowing reviews of the design, functionality, and feel of the early-version app.

Eagerworks helped develop our initial e-commerce solution with Node.js, React and React Native. This platform enables to collect, categorize, present and distribute millions of products in a systematized and efficient way. They worked on our product from the outset, bootstrapping the development of our back office, back-end, and mobile application. A solid microservices architecture in Node.js was built in order to be ready to scale easily and as fast as possible.

We tasked Eagerworks with re-factoring our entire Instant Request experience which was critical to the company as its the primary point of customer acquisition through fulfillment of the vehicle requests buyers have. In addition, we had noticed performance issues on our application and asked them to take a look, perform testing and recommend some solutions for implementation. 

Finally, the ecosystem runs on services, and a few critical ones that Eagerworks built were a Vin Decode service that helps automatically identify vehicle descriptors (year, make, model, etc.) and PDF service which automated the way we generate customer invoices.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our new Instant Request experience is amazing, it performs well and it met all of the original requirements. Eagerworks always went one step further and recommended ways to improve the implementation from the original design and we really appreciated their partnership throughout the process. In terms of our microservices, they were very reliable and stable - they currently help power a seamless user experience and we're very appreciative of the speed and reliability delivered by the team. Lastly, the work they did to improve performance was very noticeable by our customers and staff, and overall we noticed a 3x improvement in site speed and loading times.

They helped us develop our pilot program. The objective was to create an efficient e-commerce platform and quickly adapt as we learned from our users. Then, Eagerworks developed a custom software solution due to the need to adapt the product to a circular economy where users can return their containers to reuse. 

Eagerworks were more than software providers, they became our strategic advisors and helped us make the right decisions in order to achieve our business objectives.

I’m the head of product for a fashion rental platform. We operate a marketplace, a managed service that handles rentals on behalf of designer brands, and an enterprise service for several large retailers.

What challenge were you trying to address with eagerworks?

Our enterprise business was incredibly fast-growing, so we needed a larger and more experienced development team to support the growth. We were looking for a partner to help us achieve the demands of the enterprise business by maintaining it and producing more features.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, we engaged eagerworks for a smaller-scale project to build internal tools for us. Now, they’re providing us with a team of resources to support our enterprise development initiatives. We were looking for a range of senior, mid, and junior developers with experience building rental e-commerce websites. 

The resources have developed a design system, allowing us to build a highly scalable series of websites on the enterprise service. The team has also helped us build an order management system to help us process highly complex orders. Additionally, they’ve provided QA testing services. 

What is the team composition?

We currently have six people working on our project. At its peak, we had around ten people working with us. We don’t have a project manager, but the senior team members take on the project management responsibilities.

How did you come to work with eagerworks?

We initially found them on Clutch. Then, we proceeded to have a series of conversations to get to know them and determine whether their abilities fit our needs. After speaking with them, they performed a full website code audit to show us their strategic thinking skills and Ruby on Rails (Rails) proficiency. Our internal lead engineer reviewed their work and deemed them qualified to help us.

We’ve invested about $100,000 in the partnership with eagerworks. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with eagerworks in August 2022, and the partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We measure their success based on the speed and quality of their outputs. The quality of their output is why our partnership has progressed from a one-off project to an ongoing relationship of high magnitude. The eagerworks team is producing sufficient work of high enough quality that we’re deploying new features to production weekly.  

The eagerworks team has caught most bugs through staging, but some have inevitably made their way through to production. Overall, we’re happy with how they’ve handled bugs. 

How did eagerworks perform from a project management standpoint?

We’re responsible for managing the project, but they perform excellently with regard to deadlines and staying on budget. We use GitHub and our bespoke project management system for all code repository-related processes. We also use Slack to communicate and Google Meet for video meetings.

Flexibility is their biggest strength; they meet tight deadlines and accommodate implementations. They’re also very open to adjusting the team size as needed, which we appreciate. The eagerworks team also has a fantastic attitude and culture; they’re very happy and positive.

It would be great to see them document things and follow best practices a bit more, but it’s not a major area of concern.

Moreover, they’re a hard-working team who’s willing to work through the night, so it’s important not to abuse that, so you can maintain a good engineering culture.
