DreamDev Solutions

BACKGROUND

I am the CEO of Lichtblick Digital GmbH

Lichtblick Digital is a digital agency based in Germany that works with mid-sized B2B companies and staffing firms. Our core business is building and running websites, mostly on WordPress. That covers concept and design, development, hosting, and ongoing maintenance and security for a fleet of client sites. On top of that we handle SEO and visibility in AI search engines (GEO), analytics and tag management, GDPR-compliant consent setups, and Google Ads. We also build custom AI applications, such as job-matching and content tools, for our clients and for ourselves.

DreamDev has been our long-term external development partner for WordPress for about six years. We deliver the concept, the design and the technical framework. DreamDev turns them into production-ready custom themes and supports them over their whole lifecycle. Over the years they have worked on our own agency website and on a broad range of client projects: corporate websites, recruiting and career platforms, and sites for industry, real estate and professional services. Projects range from full builds and relaunches to smaller changes on live sites.

 • Custom WordPress themes for a large number of client websites, from new builds to complete redesigns
• Modular, block-based page building (Gutenberg, ACF) so our clients can manage their content on their own
• Content structures such as custom post types, archives, search and filter functions
• Integrations with forms, booking tools, multilingual setups and consent management
• Ongoing development and maintenance: new features, design updates, bug fixes and performance improvements Reliable
• collaboration through a dedicated project manager and a clean Git-based workflow

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

The best measure of success is the length of our partnership. We have worked with DreamDev continuously for around six years and keep assigning them new projects. In that time they have delivered custom themes for a large number of client websites, from full relaunches to ongoing feature work, and many of those sites are still running on their code today. Our clients can manage their content on their own thanks to the modular block systems, which cut our support effort noticeably. DreamDev meets deadlines reliably, so we can plan client launches with confidence. Because they are a stable, well-coordinated team, we can take on more and larger projects than we could with in-house resources alone.

Project management with DreamDev is structured and uncomplicated. A dedicated project manager is our single point of contact. She takes over tasks in our project management tool, splits them across the team, and keeps us updated on progress. We don't need to coordinate individual developers ourselves, which saves us a lot of time. Deadlines are reliably met. Smaller changes are often done within a day or two, and larger features and relaunches arrive as agreed. When priorities change, for example because of an urgent client request, they adapt quickly and without discussion. They respond to our needs flexibly and proactively. They adopted our processes and tools, from the Git workflow to our release pipeline, and they ask questions when something is unclear instead of guessing. Communication is friendly, fast and in fluent English.

What impresses us most is how consistent DreamDev has been. After around six years they feel less like an external vendor and more like an extension of our own team. They know our standards, our technical setup and many of our clients' sites, so new projects start without long onboarding. On top of that, they are willing to grow with us. When we introduced new tools and processes, such as a new Git workflow and automated releases, they adopted them quickly and without friction. That long-term reliability and adaptability is rare among external development partners.

Honestly, very little. Like in any long-term partnership, we occasionally had to align on processes and technical standards. DreamDev was always open to feedback, helped us improve our own flows and adapted quickly.
