I started an apartment listing website, so I’m the owner.

What challenge were you trying to address with Doohickey?

I needed a web developer to build the website and help with marketing.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Initially, I hired another company to build the site, but they didn’t do a very good job. The site wasn’t workable. At first, they were tasked with fixing that site. However, they ended up creating a brand new site from scratch because the old site turned out to not be fixable. They developed the site using WordPress. Additionally, I’m preparing to pass off marketing responsibilities through Google Ads as well.  

What is the team composition?

I work directly with Dan (Owner).

How did you come to work with Doohickey?

When the first site was finished and needed to be fixed, I found him listed as a WordPress specialist online. I reached out from there.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent under $4,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in fall of 2018, and the site was up and running by January 2019. However, we’re constantly doing updates to the site, so it’s a work in progress.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

He was able to bring my vision to life because he understood my company and requirements for the project. The site looks clean and is updated regularly, which impresses everyone who sees it. It has a great UX, and I’m sure Dan will boost engagement metrics when he takes over marketing.  

How did Doohickey perform from a project management standpoint?

Dan was the saving grace for my website project. He was down to earth and always made himself available to me. When we decided to create a new site, he was in constant communication with me about my goals and preferences for the final product. I appreciated that detail-oriented approach. We communicated mostly over email, but I could call him if needed as well. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re unbelievably skilled in web development and accommodate us every step of the way. It was 100% worth the investment. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything. He held my hand throughout the project. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

He’s the guy for WordPress projects. Make the project collaborative and communicate your requirements to him. He can take it from there.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

This designer had good reviews and seemed like they could handle our complex problems

This team built us a very complicated website that includes integrated woocommerce ordering system, customer portal, automated email statuses on orders, etc. The work they put into our website (over the course of 5 months) will end up saving us so much time managing our small business. They made our vision a reality even though we werent even sure how all this would/should work. Don't hesitate to give them a call for your website design needs.
