Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the founder and CEO of A Better Chance A Better Community, also known as ABC 2. We connect communities with resources to activate, empower, and advocate for realistic solutions and a healthier lifestyle. We are attempting to change the world, one community at a time.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Dodson Development?

We were trying to devise the best way to communicate our mission, purpose, and objectives. We wanted to create an app and website to convey what we do and who we are.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Dodson Development developed a mobile app and website for us. We had an initial call discussing our expectations and how they can best deliver on those. Their team created a WordPress website that connects to our app, for which they built both an iOS and Android version.

They are currently working on making the website and app more engaging. We have conducted several surveys and they are helping us collect data for those. Dodson Development is also teaching virtual classes on coding and web development to people across our network.

What is the team composition?

I worked directly with Darren (CEO). Throughout the project, he brought additional people in on his end but he was my main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Dodson Development?

I discovered Dodson Development from within my network, we had mutual connections. After hearing about them and seeing some of their past work, I reached out to them via Facebook. I met with them and, after seeing they had the skills and expertise we were looking for, decided to work with them.

How much have you invested with them?

We have invested about $15,000–$20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement with Dodson Development began in December 2019.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

I am exceedingly happy with the work we’ve received so far. I’m proud of everything Dodson Development has done for us. Darren has the heart and commitment to teach himself skills, a feat that takes years for others. Dodson Development produced work that we can both be proud of. I am honored to have him on our team and would recommend him to anyone who needs an app or website. 

We have a great working relationship with Dodson Development. There is a high level of respect and comfort between us that made this engagement successful. We don’t look to cut each other down, we look to help each other grow.

How did Dodson Development perform from a project management standpoint?

Dodson Development is easy to work with. They consistently meet deadlines, communicate successfully, and ask questions to fill in any knowledge gaps. Darren goes above and beyond to provide high-quality results. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Dodson Development brings a high level of creativity to the table, they know how to think outside the box. Darren helps us expand our idea while also sticking to the expectations we laid out. He brings ideas to the table to ensure you make a product that grabs people.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would like Darren to take more time to celebrate and enjoy his accomplishments. He’s an excellent person and he delivers results, but he’s always looking to the next project. He could celebrate his journey more.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Tap into Darren’s creativity and innovation. Allow him to bring the support your engagement needs. Be open-minded in a positive way, because he will not only deliver on your expectations, he’ll take your product to the next level.
