We asked Dixelar Company to complete an explainer video for our new collection technology. We provided them with CAD of the technology and all our branding assets. We also provided a rough script with suggested narraration. Dixelar completed all the rendering, animations, and audio. The video needed to be presented by July 31 and the Dixelar team completed it ahead of schedule.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The video was presented at our event in a presigious location. We presented two videos. One video we worked with a well-known media company last year. The second video was from Dixelar. The audience loved the second video because of the visual explanation of our process. They also commented on how they liked the company branding.

I make this distinction between the two videos because the first video had a 30 second animation which was 'valued' in a package of $4000 USD.

Dixelar company's entire 2 - 3 minute animation with narrartion, music, and sound effects was of a much higher quality, the team was more responsive and better to work with, and in total it was a way better value.

I’m the marketing manager of a skincare company that creates bioactive ingredients from microalgae.

What challenge were you trying to address with Dixelar?

We were focused on creating scientific marketing materials and presentations because we wanted to pitch the products to scientific teams. That’s why we needed classic resources who could help us support the slides. We also were having problems with the resolution of our pictures and needed help to have nice pictures of our products on our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created 3D digital designs for several microalgae species based on real pictures from a microscopic microalgae. The designs were PNG files and flat images. Dixelar gave them volume and perspective in terms of UX.

What is the team composition?

Oleg (Creative Director) was our main point of contact.

How did you come to work with Dixelar?

We found Dixelar through a freelancer platform service where companies would post projects, and freelancers could apply for them. We had worked with them on two projects. The first time, we hired Dixelar through the platform, but for the second project, we decided to hire them directly.

The first interaction we had with Dixelar was in January 2019. The last project they did for us ended in March 2021.

The materials we got from Dixelar were high-quality graphic designs, and we loved them. We were always happy with the results because we were constantly exchanging feedback with them. Dixelar did an amazing, fast, and efficient job.

How did Dixelar perform from a project management standpoint?

Dixelar responded to our feedback quickly and incorporated all the changes we told them. They are really fast in terms of delivery and flexible in their timing. That was fantastic.

We didn’t use any project management tools — we had a very direct communication process.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Dixelar was relatively a small company, so they had the flexibility to adapt to the project. We found other agencies where we struggled with deadlines, but Dixelar was always on time. That’s what made us continue with our relationship.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Dixelar was located in Ukraine, so they behaved like Germans in terms of invoice payments. If an invoice was not paid, they insisted, and sometimes those activities took time. However, Dixelar worked with intent, and we liked that.

Any advice for potential customers?

I recommend being really clear with the brief at the beginning of the project and give Dixelar all the tools they need. That can avoid excessive reviews of the project. If people give Dixelar the correct direction, they will create great results in a short timeframe. At least, that’s what we learned from the first time we worked together. For the second project, we knew what we needed and wanted, and Dixelar did their work extremely fast.

We wanted to create a ~90 second company introduction and 3-4 short video clips , to be used on our website and as short product / company explainers. Videos included live video and motion graphics, with roughly 3/4 of the videos being composed of motion graphics. Material was repurposed across the various videos for efficiency. We supplied a number of video clips of our product that was shot with a pro team.

While the main goal is to create a stunning intro for our website (with no sound / narration), we also wanted to create a version with narration, as a more formal company and product intro.

We required a production team with excellent skills and experience with both motion graphics development as well as video production. The team needed proven experience working on commercial projects where there is a clear business goal - not just beautiful production.

We needed a team that was willing and able to contribute creative insights and suggestions, as well as being willing to follow guidelines in pursuit of business goals.
