The project management was generally effective, with deliverables being provided on time most of the time. On the few occasions when there were delays, they were communicated promptly, and any adjustments to timelines were discussed and agreed upon in advance. They were responsive to our needs, ensuring that any concerns or changes were addressed efficiently, which helped maintain a good working relationship throughout the project

I am the CEO of AZ Stretch, a stretching app available on the App Store & Google Play that provides personalized stretching programs.

For what projects/services did your company hire Digital Nomad Agency, and what were your goals?

We hired Digital Nomad Agency to re-develop our app in Flutter, allowing it to be both on iOS & Android. Our app was only on iOS before. We also hired them to re-code the app, as the app was poorly developed at first. Finally, we hired them to add a bunch of cool features that made us stand out from competitors.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched for developers on a freelance platform, where we had more than 80 candidates. After a pre-selection round and several interviews, we decided to go with DNA as they were the only ones to really understand our product, our market, and the app business. They truly understood our challenges and were highly motivated to work on this project. Their portfolio was also very high quality, making them look like a standout candidate.

We had a few meetings at first to discuss the project, the specs, and the architecture to ensure we were starting off on the same page. We also established a good communication system, as this was highly important to me. We then moved to establish the deliverables and technologies used. We went with Firebase, JWPlayer (as we had videos to host), cron.job, and other small technologies that just enhanced the app.

They developed the app in Flutter. The project was separated into several steps, including 2 big ones:

1. Redeveloping the app in Flutter and adding new features that were mandatory (onboarding, personalization, offline use), as well as a subscription model inside of the app. This took 2 months and was right on schedule. They worked a lot on this as the previous team took 7 months to develop a less complex MVP.
2. Adding new features based on customers' feedback, including statistics, recommendations, in-app messages, and more freedom around the app. This took an extra 2 months and was done a few weeks after the end of the previous step.

I had Mohsin, the CEO, who worked on defining the app's architecture and helped with the development. He also took care of the communication with me. I had Leo, one of their star developer who worked on the features on Flutter. Finally, I also had Yugene, another promising developer that took care of developing another set of features.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Within 2 months, our app was completely rebuilt and launched in the stores! It allowed my marketing team to get started for campaigns, and our app was given a big shot. It was truly great to finally have a competitive product, of high quality. The number of downloads highly increased, reaching almost 7,000 in 3 months. The retention was also much higher, resolving one of the issues we had before.

The project manager, Mohsin, was really accessible and would answer any question I might have. He was also non-hesitant to ask questions so his team could deliver what we were expecting. This was just proficient communication.

We also had weekly meetings to discuss the project's advancement, and we talked almost every day on our dedicated Discord channel. Finally, we used Notion to work on feedback, which made it very easy for us to collaborate. We were not spending as much time explaining the feedback, and it was very easy for them to comment on it, and mark it off once it was done.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their mobile app development skills are insane. They really knew how to tackle every hurdle we had. This gave us a bug-free app that was fully functional as we intended, all in record time. Finally, I'd say the warmth of the agency is quite nice, making it a nice environment to collaborate in.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We mentioned this to them, we think offering a QA service could be a great addition to their team. It was established at first that we'd have to take care of it, so there was no surprise. It was just a recommendation to make the process easier for some clients.

One of our clients asked if we know anyone who can provide a complex yet effective solution for the sourcing platform we've designed. the main goal was to be in the middle between delivery speed and quality. Also, the client wanted to receive a flexible solution for future iterations and improvements after raising investments

We've partnered with Digital Nomad Agency for the last 2 years, and they were the only company able to cover all of the needs. They provided the most detailed exploration and estimation for the budget cost and provided clear and reasonable deadlines.

As the project included different parts such as a web app, mobile app, and landing pages for collecting leads for the pre-launch phase, DNA was probably the most relevant and effective company on the list. They delivered pixel-perfect results, with a high level of responsive implementation which was very important for the client's case.

For the mobile app, they did an amazing job as well, suggested building it on Flutter which allowed us not to re-create designs and keep its effectiveness on the same level as it was designed

We contacted Mohammed (CEO) and Leo (Team Lead) in person, but we knew there are several developers behind their backs doing all that tricky coding things. These two provided an amazing responsibility, and always tried to get maximum from every single pixel of the interface

At the moment, implementation allowed the project to receive multiple investments offers from $500k to $1m each. Also, landing pages allowed to reach our goal of 2000 buyers and 500 suppliers for the pre-launch phase

For our communications, we used Discord for text messages, Google Meet for weekly calls, and Trello for the project management stuff. The response speed was on a high level, so all participants of the project were updated about the current progress and issues these guys dealing with

Their business thinking was really impressive! They provided a couple of ideas that were implemented and received positive feedback both from users and investors. They really cared about the project as it was their personal one.

To be honest, we don't have any advice but only keep what they doing the same way!

We wanted to create a site that included a LMS (Learning Management System) to house our video learning library. The website had some complex parts. We wanted the layout to function somewhat similarly to a video streaming platform where you could scroll through courses and each course displaying information.

The LMS system needed to easily handle adding multiple videos, note-taking, Q&A, and other functions. Also, we wanted the system to handle teams since we sell B2B primarily.

We were referred to Digital Nomad Agency through our UX/UI designer. We based our decision mostly on experience and the conversations we had with the company.

We had our UX/UI designer complete the design portion. Then we had a discussion about the technology we would be using. By recommendation, we decided on NextJS deployed on Vercel for the frontend and Strapi deployed on AWS for the backend.

After that, the building began with both the front and backend. We had key milestones completed and explained throughout the months of building. Towards the end we were given training on how to use the system. Finally at the end, we worked through all the bugs before releasing.

I worked mainly with the frontend developer. We also worked with 2 backend developers.

We had open communication with our developer. During the build and release phase, we were communicating frequently. We had regular meetings via video conference. We used Slack to chat and was always responsive.

They built our site that is super impressive quickly, using the latest technology, and was (and is) a great source of information.

Android & IOS Mobile app development for a Multi vertical marketplace (Fashion, Restaurants, Groceries). The app had to be integrated with our APIs (Customer, Product, logistics, Payments) and released in both app stores in less than 3 months.

Within weeks, they delivered the first built for both apps using Bitrise for Continuous Integration and Delivery. They incorporated our feedback and delivered the revised version. Before launching, we ran it through beta testing and finally released on time.

Within 3 months after our app was launched, we saw over 100,000 downloads and achieved a 4-star rating in app stores. We've seen a tremendous boost in traffic since launching the app, and people have commented on how easy it is to use. No critical bugs were present on first version, in fact were impressed that we released the first app update more than 30days after release.

The project manager was easy to communicate with and provided frequent updates. We had constant communications using discord and google meets. We used gitlab to create tickets for issues and new features. Everything was delivered on time and we received ample warning if a deadline wasn't going to be met.

The team was highly professional and incredibly nice. Always delivering great value for every dollar that we paid.

Honestly, I don't see any.

We had many discovery meetings and discussed our goals. We had detailed UI design which we presented. In the matter of just a few weeks they already done a lot of work so we moved forward very quickly. They handle feedback extremely well and did the necessary changes on time. We ran multiple beta tests and made sure everything was in order before launch.

The CEO himself was our main point of contact, which we appreciated a lot.

We have not yet had a big launch. We are still working on some details. But we are comfortable that we will have a great marked response when we will lance, in a few weeks’ time.

The team had great communication skills and we had frequent updates. With many online meetings we were able to keep each other up to date on the project. Everything was delivered on time, if not even before.

Their development skills were absolute world class! We have never worked with anyone with this kind of experience and talents.

We did not experience any particularly flaws. DNA delivered exactly as promise.
