Devstringx Technologies Pvt Ltd provides outsourced software testing services. Their testers remotely augment our internal team and test our WordPress sites built in PHP, CSS, and JavaScript. They also test our iOS and Android apps, which are built in React Native, and ensure that the apps connect to our sites.

His team is very skilled in the work that we are doing, especially on the WordPress side. They’re very reliable and basically a part of our team.

They do a really good job. We communicate through a dedicated Slack channel that we share with Devstringx Technologies Pvt Ltd’s staff. They use an Agile development framework and participate in scrum meetings. The team makes sure everything is done per milestone. They join our calls and help us with everything.

If we have a problem with one of the testers, Manan quickly takes care of it and assigns a different team member to the task.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their staff is large, which means they are able to handle substantial workloads. Manan takes care of managing Devstringx Technologies Pvt Ltd’s people for us. I trust his integrity.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing I can think of at the moment.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Making an effort has a big impact. The people at Devstringx Pvt Ltd are not working in-house, so remote management needs to be a priority. It’s on you to ensure regular meetings and have good processes.

The goal was to automate QA test cases for a client’s three web and mobile applications.

My recruitment team found Devstringx via an online search and we contacted them for further discussion. After a series of interviews, we found them to be willing to work and offering a very fair price point.

We held several initial meetings to set the framework up for automation. We explained our goals and objectives, determined the design phase, and together presented it to the client for approval. Devstringx then began developing the test automation scripts.

A team lead served as our point of contact and a liaison for the four other developers working on the project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The automated QA scripts facilitated multiple rounds of testing, improved execution speed, and expanded coverage with distributed testing. They also improved manpower efficiency, saving approximately 1000 hours of the effort that would have been required to test the cases manually. 

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We followed an Agile methodology, presenting the client with the developed scripts and execution guides after each sprint. Devstringx provided all required information and addressed every issue that arose during development.

Our point of contact provided us with regular updates and progress reports and was always available. We communicated via phone for daily stand-up meetings and during the walk-through demo sessions conducted after script development.

The process was definitely a positive and collaborative experience. We would recommend them to others and would certainly engage them again for any future manual and automated testing needs.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We were very impressed with the team’s quality and timely delivery. Devstringx possesses a sound knowledge of automation. Their technical acumen enabled them to implement the latest technology and provide the best, most feasible approach to automating modules. They are fully competent in establishing exchange-to-exchange project frameworks; their organization and structure allowed many of the developed functions to be reused for automating web applications. 

Are there any areas for improvement?

We had to spend some time at the end of the development removing sync issues that were occurring during the script execution. Sync issues are generally to the result of network errors, which are rare. I would recommend that the team execute scripts multiple times in the future to ensure there are sync errors.

What were your goals for this project?

To develop apps for teachers and students that would allow them to communicate, mark attendance, give marks, homework, view timetables etc. Along with that, it was imperative for the software to work smoothly and not be buggy.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Initially, Devstringx did a small POC for the Android app on the attendance module. That worked great! Plus they showed us some of the automation testing that they have done for other customers and we felt they were a right fit for us to outsource these aspects of the project to them.

Describe the project in detail.

SchoolShare was a project that we developed the complete backend, super admin panel, school panels, teacher and student/parent modules. The software lets schools keep parents informed of all the happenings, events and their child's performance. There are around 20 modules that makes it quite an expansive software with multiple user types and user cases throughout the software.

What was the team composition?

At our end, we had the UI/UX designer, Architect, 5 Developers and 2 Manual QA testers. Devstringx provided the 2 mobile app developers and the 2 Automation testers

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The apps were developed as expected and our client was very happy with them. But the most amazing part was the product quality. With the Automation Testing that Devstringx did, there were so many bugs that we found which we would never be able to find with our manual testing. The product's stability led to adoption of the SchoolShare software by their pilot schools. And that was key to them working with us for the next few phases of the project.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Initially, there were a few teething issues, but once they churned out the first build of the app, it was like clockwork because we understood each other's processes well to make sure the software was developed correctly.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality of their Automation Testing. The way they created test cases, managed to check every module in-depth so that each build or update we would give to the client was stable - plus we saved so much time, it left a really positive impact on the client.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We felt the pricing was a bit high initially and it didn't look like their processes were jelling well with ours. But after the first two weeks, it just seemed to work smoothly.

I was the Managing Director of an IT Company in Laos with around 40 staff. The company was part to the group that composed of many different types of businesses.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I have completed an online search and compared a few vendors and found that DevstringX proposed the most reasonable price and commit to provide flexible number of staff and development timeframe. The most important factor is the CEO (Mr. Mannan Sharma) had good technical skills and able to talk and explain the solution.

Our company has spent sometime earlier developing the full scope of the system and from there we send the scope to DevstringX and with a few meetings they could start the development.

Mr. Mannan Sharma himself was the Project Manager and the key contact from the Vendor, and 14 other developers, designers and the QA and QC.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

It was an ongoing development for around 1.5 year. The first phase launched after starting for 6 months, and then continue to develop and release more and more features... Even though they are some bugs during the release, the team was able to work out and fixed them. Overall it's was good.

We used vendor's project management tools for submitting user stories, tasks etc. and we use Gitup for handling code etc.

They team were quite patient and worked hard to meet the deadline even some timelines were a bit unrealistic but they try hard to meet them.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We had some difficulty on working time between our team and the vendor's team. Usually, vendor's team start working when our team already worked for half day. So our team end up having to work after hours most of the time.
