The scope of work included 2400 hours of development, covering the frontend, backend, and UI/UX design. A-Development came in and thoroughly analyzed our business processes. From there, they developed a custom web management application that addressed every pain point we had. Their solution automated nearly all of our core business processes, including the management of property, tenant, and owner databases. One of our biggest concerns was the storage and accessibility of large documents in PDF format, and they seamlessly integrated this into the system without any data loss.

As a result of A-Dev work, we saw immediate improvements. Brokers now spend only 2 minutes finding at least 10 suitable real estate options, down from the 20 minutes it used to take to find just one. The user interface was designed with Tailwind CSS to create a clean and intuitive experience. MSSQL was used for secure data management, and AWS provided reliable hosting and deployment. We’re a health and wellbeing company that offers custom health applications. I’m the business development manager and product manager.

What challenge were you trying to address with A-dev?

Our goal was to build a mobile application that worked across iOS and Android and was connected to a web-based admin panel.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The app has a variety of third-party integrations, one of which is a thermal camera that has to be connected to an Android tablet. The application works through a trigger system, and that trigger has to travel between the device and the application to capture and return the appropriate measurement. A-dev accomplished this well. They even went so far as to communicate with the camera manufacturer in China and meet with their technical team when we encountered an issue with their SDK.

We’ve also had to integrate other SDKs and APIs to harness the native capability of the mobile app.  

What is the team composition?

We’re currently working with one developer and one project manager.

How did you come to work with A-dev?

An acquaintance of mine here in Australia was working with them for an application development. I also speak Russian, as A-dev does, so that makes communication very easy. My acquaintance introduced me to one of their project managers and they excelled at setting up initial estimates.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $25,000 so far with them, but the whole project will be around $150,000–$200,000 at the end.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve worked on two projects since starting together in April 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They obviously spent a few days off-line last week based on the military situation between Russia and Ukraine, but they’ve been communicating incredibly over Slack the entire time. They’ve even set up a home work station for the two resources we’re working with. It’s amazing they’ve managed to do any work during this time.

There are easily identifiable metrics with the thermal camera being used to measure body temperature. We’re testing the results it returns against those of medically approved thermometers. With the API integrations, we’re also able to test those results against those of other medical equipment, like blood pressure machines and pulse oximeters.

How did A-dev perform from a project management standpoint?

Our project manager set up a Slack account and channel. He invited the correct people and keeps updating everything.

A-dev’s deals with deadlines well. There are sometimes extensions in software development, but their team has been great at sticking to timelines.

I have my own tools across the Microsoft Teams system and a few other CRMs, but that’s more just inside our own company.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The flexibility to change the scope has stood out. As a startup, we have to change the app in the direction of the sales, so sometimes we have to quickly implement infrastructure changes. A-dev’s greatest strength is that they’ve never once said that they couldn’t do something. They always do a full estimate to develop the changes that I provide design documentation of.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not that I can think of. At one point, we had a project that required a specific expertise in integrated software engineering, and they offered to hire a contractor specifically with that skillset. We didn’t go through with that as our client fell through, but A-dev has handled everything perfectly.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Have a clear idea of what you want and, if possible, submit designs and workflows. They’re quite good at suggesting things that the designs might be missing.

The quality of work is excellent, estimates are accurate, and the QA team does a great job of finding and fixing issues before they reach customers. Communication has been above and beyond, with amazing support and very quick responses. What challenge were you trying to address with Anuitex Solutions Ltd?

We had a development team that reached the peak within the project because we overexpanded, and they didn’t know how to handle it. We then decided to outsource to save money rather than onboard more staff that could raise overhead costs. We were also looking for the flexibility that we can configure depending on what we need.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Part of the first initiative that we wanted to do was fix the platform and all its bugs. The platform wasn’t completed because we basically had a software bundle of three platforms for the members' area, the CRM side, and the network side. They weren’t done, so we decided to update the design and then after that, they fixed everything such as client and company site portals.

We started with one CTO, two developers, a project manager, and DevOps. We later found out that the two developers who they said was a senior and mid-level developer, were actually junior developers.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Communication-wise, they’re good and they’re always on the spot. Anything that goes behind the communication towards the end is where things went sideways. Whenever we speak, things are good, but the quality of their work is beyond zero.

How did Anuitex Solutions Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

We usually communicated through Zoom or Skype, and we also had the time tracker called Time Doctor. We used to do the work in sprints, and in the same sprint that we worked on for a month, it took them a year to fix the same bugs. Sometimes payments wouldn’t work or there’s an issue with connectivity to the trading platforms, which we already dealt with a year ago — why are they coming back?

This is where we understood that they only fixed a small portion of it that will trigger another problem. Which they knew, but they didn’t try to fix. They focused on something else rather than fixing the problem.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The only thing I do consider as their strength is anything regarding client onboarding, research, and consultation — although their suggestions weren’t always correct. Everything else like the quality, is not good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They can at least start improving their engineers. They usually take students that lacked experience and knowledge in coding. It’s like they’re being trained at the expense of the client.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would suggest to consider working with them carefully, and to do their own research on the company. I’ve already worked with seven teams and the work that they publish through their portfolio is actually fake. Try to understand what capabilities they have, ask questions, do research, and don’t take suggestions until you’re certain that what they’re giving you is correct.

We’ve tried outsourcing a couple of times before, and they were unsuccessful. With Anuitex Solutions, I’m lucky. They have great levels of verbal English, and their work ethic is aligned with how we work. 

Their communication and technical skills are very good. We needed immediate results, and that was one thing they were able to do when they needed to. 

How did Anuitex Solutions Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated in various ways, such as video calls, Skype, and even Google Sheets. Their project management is really good. There is a difference in time zone, but only a few hours. 

Whenever we had changes, they were able to flex their muscles when we needed it. If we ever needed to slow anything down, they worked well with that too. 

We used Trello to manage the project in the early days, but the partnership was so dynamic that it became easier not to communicate that way. 

We’ve had consistent staff that they supplied, so it was a really good experience. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The delivery was on time, and the communication was good, so we didn’t get lost in translation.

No, I would be honest if they did. They supplied a consistent staff, and it was a good experience.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

They greatly improved the legacy application in the first part of work which gave our client access to new features. In our work to develop the 'Resource Dashboard' they created a connection between the legacy and new application which formed a multi-app ecosystem.

These apps are now able to receive realtime updates as users make changes. This has delivered over a 35% productivity increase to the admin teams at our clients business.

Anuitex were excellent at completing each phase of the project on time. The performace of the application was a huge challange and required many improvements to get it perfect but they manage to keet the pace of progress high throughout and momentum.

Their work was of great quality and whenever we hit a fork in the road moment they alway professionally discussed the options.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We've seen many developers get worn down towards the back end of a project but Anuitex started each day and each week fresh. They reset and kept motivated which really stood out and become infectious amongst eveyone connected to the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

As Anuitex have grown over the past 3 years they needed to restructure their management team to improve how the company is run. These changes did at some point cause some minor disruption but were likely impossible to avoid. We imagine they will plan their stategy to continue to grow further with this past experience in mind.
