What challenge were you trying to address with Deuce?

We needed help with setting up a new website for our company, so we hired Deuce.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Deuce has helped us develop our website. Initially, I provided them with a brief idea of what we were looking for, and they gave me a rough quote and an estimate of how long it would take them to complete the project. Then, Matt (Co-Founder & Technical Director) came back and was very descriptive of what they could do for us.

From there, we went back and forth over email to discuss what we were looking for in more detail. Deuce asked me if I needed to migrate content from our old website into the new one and told me what was achievable. We also discussed every little aspect of the site, including the copy, content, map, and contact forms until the project’s completion. Now, they provide hosting and maintenance services.

Ours is a simple marketing website detailing who we are, the services we offer, our location, and the people we work with. There’s also a comment section with reviews our service users have emailed us or written. Moreover, it has a careers page where visitors can apply for a job, as well as an information page where users can request an information pack sent to them.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with two teammates from Deuce: Matt and another teammate who has helped us with the website’s imagery.

How did you come to work with Deuce?

I found them online because Deuce was local to us, so we went with them. Their team was very friendly, approachable, and helpful from the get-go. Originally, I didn’t know what I wanted, so they gave me a lot of options without pressuring me to hire them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $1,500. However, I don’t know the exact amount.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in January 2023, and our partnership is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our new site has been very active since we launched it. Additionally, we like the new look, which is slightly different from our former website’s. The new website looks professional, clean, and to the point, which is what we were looking for.

How did Deuce perform from a project management standpoint?

Deuce has performed better than expected; they’re very available and easy to work with. I’ve had a couple of challenges with the website, and Matt has sent me a personalized video to show me how to solve what I specifically needed to solve. Additionally, they’re always on the other side of the phone to explain very technical issues in a way that I understand what’s happening and how.

Moreover, Deuce has delivered before the deadlines and quicker than expected, and the budget has been on point. We’ve mainly collaborated via phone and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Deuce’s most impressive skill is that nothing is above them or an inconvenience. They’re always more than happy to spend time explaining things and talking through our requirements and the steps it would take to achieve them. I’m not very technical, so I also really like that Deuce explains things to me in my own language, which is lovely. In addition to that, they’re friendly and reliable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Deuce is more technical than us, which is understandable. However, that has caused some misunderstandings. For example, we initially told them that we wanted some illustrations, and they insisted that photos would look better than illustrations because that was what they had seen on other websites. However, we didn’t want to look like other agencies. Still, once Matt understood what we were looking for, they immediately changed the photos and implemented the illustrations we were looking for.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Hire them! I would recommend them to everyone.

For what projects/services did your company hire Deuce, and what were your goals?

We required a web build for a healthcare business that needed to be done quickly and professionally. The main goal was to provide the startup brand with a compelling web presence that does justice to its newly crafted identity and look and feel.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Our client had suggested webflow as a good platform to use, so I searched for webflow accredited vendors and came across Deuce. Previous sites that they had built felt in line with what we wanted, so after an intro call and a review of our design we began the work together.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

The scope of work was to replicate our web designs as closely as possible using the webflow platform. The main steps were a briefing call to clarify design fundamentals, before regularly reviewing and feeding back amends – which the guys at Deuce were very responsive towards. The main technology was webflow, although we designed the site on XD and handed things over via a development link.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

No measurable outcomes as yet, but overall feedback of the deliverables are very positive. The site has come to live as we wanted, and it was a fairly smooth journey to get there.

We had adhoc reviews as development was done. Duece used markup to capture our feedback, and provided a staging link to the site so we could see and experience the amends they were making and feedback instantly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The communication with the Deuce team was very good, and their ability to see and understand the main components of the brand we'd created really helped to bring it to life online.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, although it was a relatively small project and the first time we've worked together. I'm looking forward to working with them again.

Reaching the closing stages of a two year project to produce a community plan the design studio i had been working with could not complete the task. At very short notice and being conscious that public money was funding the work Deuce stepped in to get the hard copy layout completed and ready to print as well as the online version completed with accessibility tags.

Thanks to their commitment and diligence I was able to submit the document and meet the time line for a public consultation. Without David going way beyond the 'extra mile' and remaining calm and patient throughout the process I would not have been able to submit on time. If delayed we would have jeapordised the next steps in the legal process and had to re-schedule the consultation and public examination
