We engaged with DesignMC as our website was looking very dated and needed a complete new redesign to be up to date with lates features and product offering.

I knew a few people who had a great experience working with DesignMC and they came highly recommended.

After a discovery meeting, we sent over a rough guide as to what we were looking for through a rough mock up. We were quickly provided with an outline of the brand guidelines, suggested fonts, colour schemes and design of the website and provided with regular updates on how the platform was looking with a few adaptations as the project went on.

We worked with Matt who was highly attentive and always at hand to answer any questions.

We've already received great feedback on the website, which has resulted in a number of product demo's from people checking out what we do on the website. It's been described as very clean & modern looking.

They were very effective, always at hand to help answer any questions and provided us with suggestions on what we should be looking to do with the site. Considering the rough mock up that was provided, the end product was far beyond what we could have hoped for.

We were impressed with their ability to grasp what we were looking for any create something at the quality it came out was really impressive. There were even suggestions on what could make the site really pop, which were taken on board and implemented with our developers which now look amazing.

Couldn't have asked for anything better.

Budget, timescale, 'aftercare' and support were all factors as well as being made to feel that our purpose was important and that there were ways to enhance what we were doing, to hear about it and build upon it, to critically challenge and question things and to help come up with solutions and improvements.

We had an initial inception meeting followed by helpful discussions to agree the detail of the project. Before sign off we agreed the milestones and timescale. The overall project was to design a new website for us and to give our branding a glow up!

We have a new website! We have a much more vibrant colour scheme and tone of voice. All of which back up our mission and vision. Before the work, we talked positivity and active but our language and our tone contradicted this. Our messaging is now more positive and consistent.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Really good. Design MC do what they say they will, when they say they will. They do not take up time with jargon they ask you direct questions so they better understood what we wanted. They were open to questions and built time into the workflow for amendments. They also pushed us for answers and detail.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Honesty, truth, the quality of the final product. We have been able to ask questions. We have been able to be ignorant and their expertise was considerate and helpful and never condescending or to take advantage. We felt well serviced and well looked after and that we were in receipt of their expertise.

There isn't anything they need to improve on.

We stepped through the brief, but it wasn't totally clear from the client and the topic is technical and not simple to grasp. Matt had plenty to interpret and create without specific steps to follow.

Matt and the back and forth process went very well. He always responded quickly and made changes on time and stayed patient throughout a relatively time-consuming process

Currently we do not have any feedback from the client, but in this instance, we think silence probably indicates high levels of satisfaction

I am the Creative Account Director for Purple Monster, a Virtual event and communications company. I look after all visual aspects of our work for our clients, including set design, visual comms, video, animation etc...

We were creating an animation for one of our biggest clients and required some support in creating illustrated assets to a level and design that were suitable for motion graphics animation. We needed the imagery supplying in such a way and in a specific house so as to reflect the client's visual identity and limit the amount of amendment time at production.

SOLUTION

How did you select Designmc Ltd, and what were the deciding factors?

As part of the Mill Street collaborative working space, we put out a request on the internal Slack noticeboard. Matt was very quick to send me a direct email saying that he thought his agency could help.

We initially shared the brief with Matt and the team to establish how best to approach the project. Working with the animation liaison, we shared a storyboard and full comprehensive asset list. Matts team then generated some test imagery to make sure we were happy with the style and method, which we were.

Matt shared updates on progress and when we fed back some amendments, they were swiftly acted upon. The final assets were all shared in good time via a Google Drive. The video is now in production stages and we will share a cut of it once completed.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with Matt Case directly. His communication and updates were very timely and welcomed. Any feedback we gave was taken and acted upon swiftly and professionally (despite us giving the strangest feedback!)

The project is currently unfinished as we have a long motion graphics stage to go through, but we hope it will be received well as a final video!

Great communication, very clear and transparent throughout the whole process.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They've adapted to the requested style really well and created some really beautiful graphics. This is important for us as our client is very long standing and reliant upon us to deliver within their brand.

The subject matter was also pretty complex and sometimes hard to get your head around, but the team seemed to totally understand the aim of what we were trying to articulate.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think it would be great to met Matt and find out more about the agency- time was against us on this occasion! But nothing that I would flag for improvement. Maybe a photo of Matts puppy would have been the cherry on top?!

UPUK had outgrown the website, it had served its purpose after 5 years in business. We needed a fresh current more modern and user friendly site., Since we didnt have in-house developers to invest in a new site, we hired DesignMc to design and develop a Wordpress site for us. By doing this we hope to increase traffic and SEO and also give our end user a better online experience.

We had searched online for developers but after months of communications on Linkedin with the CEO of Designmc and building a trusting relationship, and based on their previous work they were the right fit for us.

We hired Designmc to work on our rebranding with new ideas, suggestions, but also in collaboration with our own. We also wanted Designmc to use this branding to create an animated ident for our video content.

How did you select Designmc Ltd?

We have been in contact with Matt a few months prior to selecting Designmc for this project. It's as much about the person as it is the quality. However, both backed each other up so we were happy to move forward.

We had a couple of face to face discussions, firstly for me to understand what Designmc could do, then one more specific with the direction I wanted to move ahead in. From there, some examples were created, where we selected areas we liked, didn't like, which then informed the next stage. Once the logos were agreed it then made the animation easier to complete.

Again, we received feedback opportunities, which we provided via email and in person. Leading to the point of approval. Contact was consistent throughout and there was never a point where we weren't informed.

We only worked directly with Matt - the main designer, although I believe an animator was in support on this project too.

As it is branding, it doesn't work on an ROI type of success. However, we are delighted with it with all of our collateral immediately updated. Feedback was always positive on the look, feel and how professional it was perceived. That was what we wanted to create. A step up in professionalism and seriousness.

Before we received anything, We were impressed by the communication and follow-ups. It is not often design agencies or creatives have that part sewn up. Matt was very good at this, which we try to be as well so we appreciated that. Secondly was the quality. It speaks for itself, we are very happy.

Each of the phases were delivered on time, on budget and also were not complete until I was super happy with them. DesignMC were so understanding that this is a start up venture, that I am a team of 1 and that I had a really strong vision of how I wanted the brand to look and feel.

The project management and personable attributes has been the best part of working with them. Nothing has ever been too much to ask for, there's always time to catch up on a video call to discuss something and it felt like a real partnership. I also felt that I was challenged when necessary but also owned the brand, which is a really hard balance to acheive usually when working with an agency - they get this part just right.

Since starting this project I have felt that I have a team, which is really important and quite a big deal when you are a team of 1 with a big project and big vision. Having worked with lots of similar agencies - I know how impressive and unique this really is.
