I'm a solo-preneur starting a research and information product venture in the cryptocurrency and decentralized protocol space.

For what projects/services did your company hire Designed.co?

I needed a visual identity for my brand; I had no logo, colors, or typography. I tried to figure out what I wanted but wasn't able to really out together a look and feel for my brand.

What were your goals for this project?

I needed a logo, colors, and a font that I could rely on as the foundation of my visual identity going forward. I'm bad at design myself, so I needed a rock solid base that would set me in the right direction.

SOLUTION

How did you select Designed.co?

I searched numerous job boards and freelancer sites and eventually made a job posting on Upwork. I received over 50 applications and did around 6 interviews. Designed.co was the 2nd interviewed and from them on felt like they were the winner.

I tried 4 more interviews just to see what was available and nothing best Designed.co's interview. Jeremy made the process very clear, showed that he clearly knew what I needed, and asked great questions right off the bat to get to know my brand.

Describe the project in detail.

They have an extremely easy to use web portal that tracks every step of the project, including discussions and design concepts. They very quickly introduced themselves and started working. I received 3 amazing concepts within a couple of days and had to consider them for a few days as I digested them and tried to figure out a favorite.

After choosing a concept I requested a couple of changes just to see how they would look, but ultimately I choose the original concept with a tiny tweak to flip some colors. Working with them was very easy. They're responsive and professional, and were able to completely understand what my brand identity design needed.

1 project manager, 1 designer, and the CEO were all hands on in the process.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The resulting design is perfect for my company. I was very concerned I wouldn't find the right team or I wouldn't be able to convey the kind of design I liked, but the final product is better than I could have imagined.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It was as good as can be. They kept me informed of where they were in the process and responded to any messages within a business hour. It only took 1 round to get 99% there, and then just a quick round of small tweaks.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The platform they've built, and the way they really utilize it is fantastic. You can tell that it was designed to be a precision system for their work flow and it made working together much simpler than I expected.

Are there any areas for improvement?

No, not from our engagement. It was turnkey convenience but with a serious team that showed dedication to making exactly what I needed.

Designed.co was hired to create the label graphics for a line extension launch. This project was high profile within the company and had all of leadership's involvement in launch decisions, including packaging graphics.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to ensure a cohesive look with the existing products in market, while ensuring that the new product's benefits were clearly communicated through graphics that brought to life the tone and essence.

Describe the project in detail.

Designed.co reviewed the competitive landscape and our current brand architecture before presenting to our team a first round of options. Our team was very impressed with the range of options and the speed of delivery.

With our feedback, the Design team began work on round 2 with our top 2 selects. They came back to us with clarifying questions to ensure they were working to deliver on our expectations. The communication flowed easily as was the website interface.

What was the team composition?

During this project I communicated with the owners, Jeremy and Kasey, and one of the two designers working on my project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The design just hit market and was well received by our retail partners as it looks premium and stands out on shelf.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Very clear communication and prompt responses. The notifications and reminders sent to my email helped keep the project moving.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality of their work - it's as if they worked for the same company because they understood the brand and objectives as well as someone who had been with the company for years. I attribute it to the briefing process and the owner's experience on the brand side.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I can't think of any areas for improvement. The work was great and the cost was a value. I will be using them again for an upcoming project.

I'm the co-founder of a community-based not-for-profit for professional services marketers. We were in the early phases of creating and launching our brand and platform.

We hired Designed.co to design our first logo which would also inform our brand.

What were your goals for this project?

We were looking for a modern and clean logo that would portray the essence of the brand which we are trying to build. Since the community would be entirely digital, it was critical to create a logo that would portray the platform in a positive and concise manner suitable to what we were trying to create.

SOLUTION

How did you select Designed.co?

We selected Designed.co as their platform was also purely digital in what is traditionally not an entirely digital interaction/service provider. It would give us light into what our platform might be, interaction-wise. The platform was also extremely affordable compared to other options.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

The process began with completing a discovery form to kick-off the project. After completely the detailed form, based on the type of project we selected (brand/logo), we had a kick-off video call with the assigned Project Manager to further clarify the project goals. The project manager then selected the best designer on their team--a true asset of the platform--to work on the project type.

The designer reviewed the brief and put together three logo concepts of varying styles but all within what we were hoping the brand would articulate. The three options were spectacular. We then selected our preferred option, provided some comments, and then the designer provided the final files we would need to begin our work.

What was the team composition?

The team from Designed.co consisted of a Project Manager and a Designer. The beauty of Designed.co is access to a variety of designers, each capable of supporting different project types. The project manager selected a designer with experience creating brand identities and logos since that was our project, and that designer's specialty was very evident in the work product.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The outcome far exceeded expectations. Since we were not able to meet the designer upfront, there was, naturally, a lingering question of, "Who is working on this and can they perform what is needed?"

But, any doubts were alleviated in the very first deliverable with the three concepts from which we could choose. The internal team was very pleased with the resulting options and, of course, the final logo.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was great. The digital platform Designed.co created is seamless. It makes it easy to see the status of each project, what each project needs, a chat history of communication about the project, design decisions, comments to designers, files of the work, every thing you could possibly need at the click of a button. No need to email someone to get a status update or obtain files.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The company was super flexible and truly worked to understand our organization and its goals. A digital platform can sometimes feel cold or impersonal, but Designed.co was the complete opposite. They immersed themselves into our brand--hopes and dreams for it--and delivered a truly stellar, clever result.

We have large company competition and we need to project a look that a large design agency would create. Plus we wanted a look that is compelling and makes people take a look.

We wanted an online solution and we interviewed a handful of online design companies. Designed.co employed the most complete design process.

We have a Newco and needed to create an image from scratch. Our team had ideas of where we wanted to go, but we needed help creating everything from a logo to PPT templates to a full-range of stationery. And we only had 30 days to complete it all.

What was the team composition?

Our side had two Co-Founders and a CFO. The design team included a project manager, creative manager and graphics team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within 30 days we created the image and all elements we required. We are already in the market with the look and the response has been well beyond our expectations.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The entire process and flow was conducted online. I only needed to talk by phone with one of the design team once, and that happened on the first day of our engagement. The design team responded effectively to our inputs.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They accomplished more than they promised.

I'm the Marketing Manager at a vaporizer company. We create electronics in the cannabis industry. I oversee all Marketing initiatives including any creative and design projects.

For what projects/services did your company hire Designed.co?

We hired them for a multitude of creative projects to be used for social media, display ads, eblasts, tradeshow artwork, print ads, sell sheets, product design, logo design, etc.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goals were to have deliverables created that were inspiring, stood out from other ads, and drove revenue and exposure.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We were transitioning between graphic designers and needed Designed.Co to help with overflow. We found Designed.Co through a quick Google search.

About midway into working with Deigned.Co they launched a new website that consolidated all of their project platforms into one, which was super helpful.

I would assign a project (in detail) in their platform, pick the priority I needed it worked on, and then receive a confirmation email that Designed.Co had begun working on it.

We would go back and forth with revisions until I was happy with the creative and then once I approved it, I could download files directly from their website. From start to finish, most projects on average took 1-2 weeks.

What was the team composition?

I had a sales call with the Founder, Jeremy. From there, we were automatically assigned a Graphic Designer. I worked directly with our assigned Graphic Designer and a Project Manager.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

One of the infographic carousel posts we posted on Instagram received an overwhelmingly positive response. Not only did analytics show it had performed well, but we received tons of feedback in the comments about how the information and creative was great and super helfpul.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Workflow was easily split up between our in-house staff and Designed.Co. At the time we needed an extra graphic designer to take on overflow projects and Designed.Co did just that for us.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Most impressive part of the company is probably the concept behind the business, itself. They're a creative design company that offers a price tier with unlimited designs and revisions on a monthly basis from eblast creative, all the way to product design.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Only have two notes for this portion. A lot of the creative we use are .gif files - we actually find that .gif files perform better across display ads, eblasts, and more. Would be great to have been able to assign some moving graphics, not just static imagery.

Also, being that we're in the cannabis industry, we felt as though we needed someone who was slightly more knowledgeable in the industry and who understood the look and tone of our personal brand a little more. Suggestion for improvement here would be for designers to do research on other creative in unfamiliar industries before beginning said projects.

I’m on the board at a logistical company that’s main focus is in the hemp industry. They transport hemp across the country.

What challenge were you trying to address with Designed.co?

They were looking to build a new website.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Along with designing the website, the team at Designed.co designed the logos, brochures, and a LinkedIn banner. They made sure all of their design work fit the correct specifications and formats.

There were three primary contacts.

How did you come to work with Designed.co?

I met Jeremy (Founder) through another company I was consulting for. He made an impression on me. For this project, I did vet other vendors, but I recommended Jeremy because of his amazing follow-up. It was an informative experience.

The deal they offered was also extremely cost-effective. Customers pay a one-time fee and get 30-day contracts that include unlimited work. Customers can also proof Designed.co's work online.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested around $6,500.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from January–March 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The attentiveness of the design work stood out. He laid out multiple designs for everyone, and no one had any complaints. We were so impressed with them that we decided to leave a review.

How did Designed.co perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management style was excellent.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Compared to other companies, we were able to proof things online. Also, if we needed to reach out to a different company, Jeremy would give guidance on who would be more cost-effective from the development side. I have no complaints about their team.  

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not that I can think of. We wish that they had development capabilities, but their team focuses on design and content.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Follow-up quickly with them. If you’re not following-up, they’ll provide a proof. If it isn’t reviewed promptly, it sits there like a waste of money. Your end needs to be attentive about following-up.

Initially there was a discovery meeting to understand peak and its challenges. Then the team was given a task list and to accomplish as much as they could get to in a month.

All projects were well received with their creativity and published within a month.

Very effective. The online approval made it easy to see progress, communicate changes and complete projects daily.

DesignCo is very creative and efficient. They were able to produce several projects under budget, saving thousands and time. They listened to feedback and made changes quickly. The entire team is enjoyable to work with.

The only reason our design contract ended was due to the COVID19 outbreak. Had there been more time, a lot more would have been accomplished by DesignCo. They are a truly effective team for outsourcing design work and well worth the investment.
