The project was made up of three core parts: data architecture, real-time data pipelines, and AI workflow automation.

In the first part, the team delivered a Snowflake-based data lake capable of handling SCADA and IoT data across multiple utility clients.

In the second, they built real-time ETL pipelines to ingest and align sensor and satellite data, enabling ongoing analysis and anomaly detection.

In the third, they created a set of  AI agents to automate key workflows, including anomaly detection, regional leak scoring, and proactive alerting.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We successfully processed over 12 months of historical SCADA and IoT data, enabling the first AI models to detect leak patterns with an accuracy of over 89% in a pilot district.

The new data pipelines reduced data processing time by roughly 65%, and the AI agents automated 92% of routine reporting and alert tasks, significantly lowering the manual workload for utility teams.

As a result, our web platform now delivers actionable insights in real time. It cuts field inspection delays and helps clients proactively address water loss.

What impressed us most was how the team combined deep technical expertise with real business intuition. What stood out most was their ability to think beyond the technical scope and deliver AI and data solutions with real business upside. For our AI-driven platform pilot, they helped us reframe AI as an operational layer. 
They suggested monetizing regional loss scoring as a subscription for smaller utilities, turning a cost center into a potential revenue stream. They also pushed for a unified data layer across clients, enabling cross-utility benchmarking that’s valuable for both regulators and executive teams. That kind of thinking really impressed us.

Our platform integrates with various sales channels, including online stores, mobile apps, and in-store systems, to collect and analyze customer interaction data in real-time. By utilizing machine learning algorithms, we identify patterns and trends in customer behavior, enabling us to predict and proactively address potential support issues before they escalate.

The platform also offers a centralized dashboard for support teams, providing them with real-time insights and recommendations on how to optimize customer interactions across all channels. This ensures that no matter where a customer chooses to engage with the brand, they receive consistent, high-quality support. We are still in the progress but main project deliverables are:

Dataforest provides clear communication along with good project management. We have created project architecture, defined data pipelines, and started working on web applications.

We are happy with the current level of service. We have a backlog of tasks and sprint plans. Each sprint is discussed in detail prior to the sprint beginning so we have time to make specifications and discuss them with the Team. So, at the end of each sprint, we get what we expect. Of course, sometimes, tasks are delivered with delays, but Dataforest tells us about such cases when they meet any severe obstacles.

Their data engineering expertise is definitely at the highest level. They are transparent in all aspects of software development. Dataforest has a number of expertise hubs inside the company so that helps to resolve any complex developers' questions. I find that approach quite unique and effective.
