They successfully reported on progress, provided accurate work estimates, and delivered on key deadlines as they were outlined to the team.

Daniel Apps always responded quickly and took the time to analyse the work and provide realistic timelines for delivery. They are always responsive and take great care in understanding the work and the needs of the business.

The team at Danielapps knows software and understands software projects. They have a multi-disciplinary team that's eager to develop and ship high quality software

Are there any areas for improvement or something Daniel Apps could have done differently?

Language barriers are always a thing, I think it goes both ways that businesses need to use clear language to explain their requests and the reasons for those requests, and Danielapps should have people able to accurately translate those to the rest of the team.

I’m the CEO of a financial services company. We develop applications to process payments and refunds.

What challenge were you trying to address with Daniel Apps?

We wanted to create internal and external platforms that could help our customers to do everything from a mobile app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Daniel Apps has been developing mobile apps for us from scratch using Objective C, Swift, Java, and Flutter — we provided them with the wireframes, and they created the platforms starting from there.

What is the team composition?

I’ve been working with around three mobile developers from their team.

How did you come to work with Daniel Apps?

I put up a math test, and Carlos (CTO) did well. After that, I explained the project to him, and we started working together.

How much have you invested in them?

We’ve spent $200,000–$1 million with them so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2014, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The mobile applications they’ve developed for us have been critical for us! Mobile has taken over this last decade, and Daniel Apps is instrumental in our growth.

How did Daniel Apps perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve been working with Jira and other types of agile frameworks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re a very empathetic team; they understand the problems we’re trying to solve and the solutions that our customers are trying to achieve. Overall, they’re not just building software; they’re making sure that people will find our products useful and that they’re running and functioning properly.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think there’s anything they can improve on.

Be super engaged with them; as with any technology project, it’s important to know what you want.

What challenge were you trying to address with Daniel Apps?

We were looking to digitize our leasing and invoicing process for our company, so we needed someone to develop a mobile app.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Daniel Apps helped us develop a mobile app that’s exclusively compatible with the iPad. This app makes our invoicing process more efficient and saves us time and resources.

We’re currently working on making further improvements and implementing certain features specific to our needs.

Our main point of contact is the project manager.

We came across Daniel Apps through a referral.

We spend around $1,000 a year.

Our ongoing partnership started in January 2018.

We’ve established a lot of trust with our customers, thanks to the app that Daniel App developed — they’re very satisfied with the easy and transparent invoicing process.

How did Daniel Apps perform from a project management standpoint?

The communication is good and their team is very responsive to our questions and concerns.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We’re very impressed with how patient they are in understanding our needs. One of their managers actually came in to work with us for a day and a half just to get an idea on how we work, so they can come up with better solutions to apply to the app they were building.

There’s nothing they should improve on at the moment.

I’m the chief product officer for Plankk, a content fitness company that provides apps for influencers, celebrities, personal trainers, and creatives. We provide Android and iOS apps at scale for hundreds of partners.

What challenge were you trying to address with Daniel Apps?

When I took over as chief product manager, I wanted to increase the quality and reliability of our iOS app while simultaneously increasing speed to market.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Daniel Apps develops iOS apps for us. The team created an app template to help us get to market faster. So far, they’ve built 15 apps for us.

What is the team composition?

The team has ranged from 3–7 people, depending on the number of apps we’re launching. I’ve worked directly with Carlos (CTO), a project manager, and iOS developers.

How did you come to work with Daniel Apps?

We found them through a mutual friend. We’ve done a lot of work with Colombian contractors because we have a presence in South America, and I was introduced to Carlos as a developer first. Then, he started growing Daniel Apps while we worked together.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we’ve spent around $400,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in August 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve launched 15 apps with Daniel Apps in a year and a half. The template they’ve created has helped us increase our speed to market. Additionally, crashes and support requests have gone down by 50% since working with them.

I love working with them; their attention to detail is great, and they’re very proactive in finding problems and presenting solutions. Overall, Daniel Apps is more of a partner than a contractor to us.

How did Daniel Apps perform from a project management standpoint?

We’ve used Trello, and since Daniel Apps was using Jira, Asana, and Confluence, we’ve migrated into the Asana world, too. They also communicate really effectively through Slack and are part of some of our Zoom calls. Our project manager is in our daily standup meetings, so we see her every day.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Daniel Apps is really invested in the work. Often, agencies search for billable hours and try to find a way to increase them, like putting in change orders. Meanwhile, Daniel Apps is committed to the end result — I really appreciate that in a development partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

At this point, there’s nothing they need to improve. We’ll expect them to grow into other technology verticals in the future. They have an opportunity for growth in expanding their skill set beyond iOS.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure your documentation is clear because ambiguity doesn’t do anybody any favors. The clearer you are with requirements, the better the result will be. Additionally, either you have a well-defined process they can plug into or let them drive the process — Daniel Apps can do both.
