What was the scope of their involvement?

Jake (President) built the website from scratch on WordPress. I did the design on PowerPoint and took pictures of that to send to him. He followed the idea from there.

I wanted to have my logo and a lot of text on the site that says who I am and what I do. They also implemented a calendar so clients can schedule appointments. I handled all the content writing myself.

Jake also showed me how to upload episodes of my podcast to the site.

We have been friends for many years, so when I was chatting with his wife, I told her I wanted to do a website and she said that Jacob could help. I had an appointment with him and began the work.

I spent about $3600.

I started working with him in October 2021, and he finished in January 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I've received positive feedback about the website from people that have seen it. I haven't put out any programs to sell or courses yet, but those conversions will come.

I appreciate the fact that the website is bilingual; it's very convenient to have it available in Spanish and English.

Jake was always on time and was very responsive, doing what I asked for. Communication was mostly through text.

His work ethic stands out. I liked the way he worked.

We've hired Cytrus Logic for various tasks and projects. Some of these tasks were client related, and some were for our internal company processes custom, back-end web development. We've also asked for help with research and IT implementation for automating processes and delivering better services.

I chose Cytrus Logic based on his immense background experience not only in his expertise, but in owning a business, and his reasonable rate. In addition, he is available, responsive, and flexible with tasks and demands.

For our internal purposes, I asked Cytrus Logic to help create a connection between a cloud storage solution and the back-end of WordPress. There are other plugins available, but we combined 4 plugins into one for ease of management and cost-effective solutions for our clients.

He helped with researching the best cloud storage solutions and best value for our company so fully implemented it from research to building and testing the custom plugin.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

It is a new product and my company is just now building a sales tactic surrounding it with our services. But will bring my company monthly recurring revenue as well as savings for our Clients.

We mostly chat with google chat for it's quick responses. If we need to, we'll jump on a quick, efficient google meet. Jake has a very easy demeanor and is willing to take on any challenge.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The team has a wealth of experience and can figure anything out. He's ready to dive into something, several times in 'emergencies' and been willing to help and work though issues to find the best solutions.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Testing often takes many eyes, and a good reminder to make sure we always do negative testing and fully test all scenarios.

I’m the director of new media at Winged Whale Media, a content creation company specializing in video production, photography, and AR/VR technologies.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cytrus Logic?

To revamp our website, we hired a web designer and brand specialist. Our business needed great branding, and that service provider said they could handle it. In the end, though, they weren’t able to do it well. As a result, we switched to Cytrus Logic.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cytrus Logic worked to complete the web development and branding project. Using the same branding guidelines we gave the other provider, they rebuilt our website with the functionality that we required. The project’s stages were straightforward. Their team reviewed our end goals and what had already been done to the website. After that, they implemented changes. Together, we went through a number of review processes to ensure that everything was functional and was where we wanted them to be. 

As a video production company, we did most of the content for the website. Much of the graphic design work was already finished. As a result, their team only worked on the content’s placement and the way they appear on the website. 

At present, we’re using Cytrus Logic to work on our ad-buying campaigns. On top of that, I’ve hired Jacob (President) for a separate project on a second business I’m putting together. He’s currently building a website for me.

My business partner put out a call on LinkedIn to his connections. He also previously knew Jacob, who then reached out to us. From there, we set up conversations and started the engagement.

We’ve invested around $7,000–$10,000 for both projects we do with them. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the partnership in February 2021, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Jacob is highly responsive and flexible. He always shares his thoughts on what needs to be done. Aside from that, he’s thorough and reviews everything to make sure that everybody’s on the same page. Throughout the project, he stays in touch and is flexible in making changes. 

So far, everything is functioning well, and we haven’t had any problems with the website. Jacob has also fulfilled everything needed for my other project. Overall, his services have been great. He’s highly personable, and it’s easy to get along with him. 

How did Cytrus Logic perform from a project management standpoint?

Cytrus Logic’s project management is great, and we have open communication. We have a WhatsApp chat group for our projects, so it’s easy to get a hold of them. On top of that, their hours are flexible, so they respond to us whenever needed. We also use a variety of other channels to communicate, such as emails, Zoom, and phone calls.

Moreover, they’re timely when it comes to deadlines. We're not hard with deadlines at this stage, and we don’t want to restrict them at all. If they need more time, we give them that. For the most part, however, they deliver everything we require. Otherwise, they always give us a heads up when they can’t meet deadlines. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Cytrus Logic’s honesty about how things are working is impressive. More importantly, Jacob communicates well with our previous service provider. He’s been cognizant of the sensitivity of the conversation — after all, we’ve handed off the project from that provider to their company. We’ve lined up both of them to work on yet another project. This speaks to Jacob’s ability to deal with difficult conversations and situations. Overall, his communication style is outstanding. 

Furthermore, Cytrus Logic’s knowledge of their line of work is a plus, since they share insights quickly and professionally. They have a deep knowledge of what they do, so they recommend things on my second project that I haven’t even considered. I let them run with it, and they’ve done a great job. Overall, I rely on their expertise. I don’t want to deal so much with web design, so I’ve given them control over what they need to do.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m not as well-versed as them around web design, so a little more explanation around decision-making might be helpful. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give Jacob a call and have as many conversations as you need to gain an understanding of his knowledge and work processes. Giving him what he needs to do his work will go a long way versus micromanaging him. In other words, give him the space he needs, and he’ll come through for you.

I own NLR Studios, which is a recording studio and a record label. We do recordings, music production, graphic design, photography, and videography.

Apart from being the owner of the recording studio, I was also a recording artist making music for 23 years. I used to be married to a web designer, who did all of my website-related work. When we divorced, I no longer had a website. As a result, I needed someone to make a new artist website for me, and it should capture the last 23 years of my career.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I’ve put out 18 albums over the last 23 years, and I wanted to have all of them in one place, which would also contain all my music, music videos, and everything else like that. Jacob (Owner) also set up an online shopping cart where I could sell all my albums and videos. 

Moreover, I wanted a guest book on the website. People could sign it and leave their information, and then I could build a mailing list. Other than my music videos, the site also contained a web series called Studio Life, which I wanted to present to the world through the website.

Our website was created over 15 years ago and had become outdated. Since we didn’t have in-house developers to invest in a new website, we hired this team to design and develop a WordPress site for us. By doing this, we were hoping to increase our traffic substantially by the end of the year and make our website more stable. Both of these goals have been accomplished!
