I’m the founder of an analytics and data platform. We service clients in the healthcare, insurance, and banking space.

We needed help with improving our information security management and controls around that.

Technologics and Controls provides IT services. They’ve helped us draft several policies and comply with information security compliance requirements. Additionally, they conduct software information security setup and operations for the auditing. Based on the findings of the audit, we then make the necessary improvements.

We work with 1–3 people depending on the workload.

We found them on a list of accredited information security companies based in India.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2017, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Their biggest impact is how they’ve helped us successfully pass the audits for the ISO 27001 certification. We’ve also been successfully meeting our client’s information security requirement needs.

How did Technologics and Controls perform from a project management standpoint?

Technologics and Controls are experts in project management — they know exactly what needs to be done, and they usually have an excellent, robust plan. The team does stick to that plan for the most part, but they let us know if there are any changes. Furthermore, the team has proactive communication. They use Excel-based work charts, and we communicate via email, conference calls, and some in-person visits.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m impressed by how they tailor their approach and intensity based on our company’s size. The team helps us stay on top of the things that we need to. Many companies will suggest things that aren’t cost-effective for our size, and some will even take shortcuts.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve on project management. I’d also like to see them bring in some external expertise to make up for what they don’t have internally.

Know and get into the details of what you want and make sure you understand what they can do for you.

Our organization is a group of companies providing cloud-based solutions to cooperative banks. We have around 80 banks and 250 branches, and we provide core banking solutions including ATM, internet banking, mobile banking, and more.

The team ensures our network connectivity works well. On top of that, they implement cybersecurity solutions which include handling server reviews and managing our firewalls. Overall, they provide risk assessment measures to solve compliance gaps within our system. As part of that, they review our IT policies too.

We’ve worked with four people when we were still starting three years ago. Now we have two people working regularly in our company for about 15 days each month.

I saw Technologics and Controls on Google. I posted an ad and about 3–4 companies applied. In the end, our management chose their team because of their work.
