I’m the CEO of a hospital. We’re a forward-thinking healthcare ecosystem in Sofia that integrates advanced pediatric and adult medical care with AI-driven digital health infrastructure and longevity medicine protocols.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cyberware?

We needed help modernizing our cybersecurity infrastructure to ensure full compliance with the EU NIS2 Directive and GDPR standards for critical healthcare entities. We wanted to transition from legacy defenses to a resilient, proactive security posture that guarantees the integrity of patient data and secures our digital health workflows against advanced persistent threats (APTs).

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cyberware has performed a full-spectrum cybersecurity transformation. They first performed a deep-dive audit of our legacy network architecture to identify critical vulnerabilities. Following their technical roadmap, we moved to active implementation, including installing a high-throughput Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW), re-architecting our network with granular VLAN segmentation to secure patient data, and establishing rigorous access restrictions (RBAC). We continue to collaborate on active threat monitoring, iterative infrastructure hardening, and maintaining compliance with evolving digital health standards.The engagement has yielded three primary deliverable streams. First, Cyberware has produced extensive technical documentation detailing our audit results and current risk posture. Second, they’re actively generating the specific compliance artifacts required for EU regulatory validation (NIS2/GDPR). Finally, they’ve performed the actual system configuration and hardening (firewall rules, network segmentation) working directly alongside our internal IT staff to ensure a cohesive integration with our existing hospital infrastructure.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve successfully aligned our infrastructure with EU NIS2 and GDPR requirements, verified through a final compliance gap analysis. We’ve also established a “zero trust” logical perimeter, ensuring that sensitive patient data is strictly isolated from public and administrative networks. Moreover, our internal IT team is now fully trained and equipped with the documentation required to manage the new security protocols independently.Validation tests have confirmed that 100% of patient health data (PHI) is now logically isolated from guest and administrative networks, satisfying strict GDPR data processing requirements. We’ve also successfully migrated all active staff members to the new RBAC system, ensuring that zero unauthorized accounts retain legacy access privileges.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After approximately two weeks, Cyberware was able to identify very important gaps that we didn't think were an issue. The team explained why it was crucial to fix those gaps, and they've done so in no time. We've had a great experience with Cyberware, and I highly advise using them.Overall, Cyberware's work has saved us a lot of expenses, removed multiple risk factors, increased our workflow speed with clients by about 30%, and removed stress from our team. In addition, the increase in applications for data protection and encryption has tripled without a large increase in expenses. We've also received a much stronger overview and report on what is happening with the data. For example, we now know where and when to visit websites, email tracking, and data storage. Moreover, we've gained ease of use on-premise and from a distance. We also have the ability to consult Cyberware's team constantly with our questions.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I'd like Cyberware to visit me more instead of working so we can have more coffee and nice talks. I really appreciate those. All jokes aside, there's nothing they can improve on.
