Creation was responsible for the full design and development of the LORA.LT Magento 2 platform.

The scope included implementation of a Magento 2 e-commerce solution using the Hyvä theme. This covered frontend development, UX/UI adaptation to brand guidelines, and configuration of a large product catalog with configurable products, filtering, comparison, checkout, payments, and delivery logic.

Creation also developed a custom appointment booking and registration module. The solution included specialist, service, and location management, automated notifications, and real-time integration with Microsoft Shifts and Outlook Calendar via Microsoft Graph API.

Additional scope covered integrations with internal and external systems, including the RIVILĖ accounting system, Omnisend, Google Tag Manager, and logistics providers. Creation also handled initial content setup, documentation, and training to support platform launch.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project was delivered according to scope and technical requirements.

A fully functional Magento 2 platform was launched, combining e-commerce, educational content, and appointment booking in one system. Manual scheduling and several internal processes were replaced with automated workflows through system integrations.

All planned integrations were successfully implemented, and the internal team was enabled to manage and develop the platform independently after launch.

Creation managed the project in a structured and transparent way. The scope, priorities, and timelines were clearly defined and tracked throughout the project.

Deliverables were provided according to the agreed schedule. When requirements evolved, the team responded quickly, communicated impacts clearly, and proposed practical solutions.

Overall, communication was proactive, and the team was flexible and responsive to our needs during all project phases.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stood out most was Creation’s ability to handle complex requirements while keeping solutions practical and well-structured. They combined strong technical expertise with a clear understanding of business processes and acted as a proactive, reliable partner throughout the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something CREATION could have done differently?

The project planning and requirements definition phase took longer than initially expected, which resulted in a more intensive implementation phase later on. Earlier finalization of the project scope could have helped distribute the workload more evenly.

That said, once the scope was confirmed, Creation adapted quickly, worked efficiently under tighter timelines, and ensured that the agreed deliverables were completed as planned.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The primary goal of our project was the migration of our main eCommerce platform from Magento 1 to Magento 2. This was aimed at improving user experience by increasing site speed and enhancing existing funnels and conversion rates. A significant aspect of this migration was separating the backend from the frontend and updating our technology stack. 

Creation team comprehensively rewrote all modules and plugins for Magento 2 compatibility, ensuring smooth functionality transition from Magento 1. We also enhanced and launched MVP features such as B2B and Preorder functionality with Magento 2. To further improve the browsing experience, we chose to implement React (with Next.js) due to its ability to create a dynamic and responsive interface. 

By developing the frontend in React and GraphQL, we effectively decoupled it from the Magento 2 backend, leading to a more robust and scalable system. One of our major challenges was adapting the project scope to a rapidly changing business environment, which we managed by staying flexible and responsive. 

The migration led to improved conversion rates and streamlined internal processes, particularly benefiting our retail staff. Looking ahead, we've laid a solid groundwork for future growth, including a plan to implement a mobile Point of Sale system on Magento 2 in 2024, leveraging our strong backend integration with our ERP system.

Over the course of the project, we experienced a change in project management which initially led to some delays as the new manager needed time to align with our project's specific needs. Despite this hiccup, the project management was generally good. The team was adaptable and responsive, especially when it came to accommodating the constantly evolving business requirements that contributed to the project being slightly behind its initial launch date. 

The project was delayed, but these delays were largely due to external factors such as the introduction of new vendors and payment types, rather than a shortfall in project management. It's important to note that these changes were crucial for the project's long-term success and were well-handled by the team. A key aspect of our collaboration was the direct communication we had with the development team. 

Given our team's technical expertise, this direct line of communication was invaluable and greatly contributed to the project's overall success. It allowed for more efficient problem-solving and a deeper understanding of the project's technical aspects. 

In summary, while the project did face some challenges, including a change in project management and a delayed launch date due to evolving business needs, the overall management of the project was commendable. The team's ability to adapt to changes and maintain open, direct communication with our technical staff played a significant role in navigating these challenges effectively.

Probably most impressive thing was that their team had different approach than other that we worked before. We were impressed by their focus on understanding and meeting our specific needs, rather than following one-size fits all approach. Really enjoyed that.
