I'm the partnerships manager of a longterm accommodations provider. We mainly provide housing for Ukrainian workers coming to Poland for work opportunities. I maintain our clientele, look for new business opportunities, and hire new employees.

What challenge were you trying to address with Craftchain?

Our online registration platform and payment software were not secure, and our accounts were getting hacked. We needed a development team to help us secure our software and accounts using blockchain software. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Craftchain developed a custom blockchain transaction system for us based on Etherum hardware and integrated it with our website. This allowed us to quickly and securely transfer funds from our customers to our accounts. In addition, they fashioned new payment options and consulted us on ways to improve our transactional features. Their team currently provides IT support and maintains our software.

What is the team composition?

We work mainly with their project managers and partnership managers. They have a development team working in the background consisting of a frontend developer, a backend developer, a C++ developer, and a Python developer.

How did you come to work with Craftchain?

We reviewed the customer feedback and portfolios of several blockchain companies in Poland. We found Craftchain, who were encouraging, responsive, and open to getting in touch with us. They showed a genuine interest in our company and presented a competitive package.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested $75,000 thus far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started in March 2018, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work significantly improves the security of our company by protecting customer payments and streamlining transactions. We can now guarantee accommodations, which directly helps us generate more sales, and leads.  In addition, we no longer have to deal with customer complaints about stolen deposits, saving time and promoting customer loyalty.

How did Craftchain perform from a project management standpoint? 

Overall, their project management is satisfactory. We use Slack to communicate 3–4 times a week—especially around summertime as business picks up. Their project managers listen to our requirements and update us on how to improve our software.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The solution they created for us is excellent, and their team genuinely cares about our business and success.

Are there any areas they could improve?

In the beginning, we had some communication issues, but they listened to our feedback and made the necessary adjustments.

Start the project with an open mind. They're experts in their field and can open up new opportunities for you.

They came highly recommended from business colleagues. We arranged an interview, and they presented their ideas on how to best address our needs. We felt that they would be capable and responsible partners.

We have spent about $85,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from November 2017 until June 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our transactions can now be about 50% faster, and we no longer have to invest as much money into unsatisfactory business practices.

Our company has a system where users can upload their pictures in a collaborative way. I am a project manager.

What challenge were you trying to address with Craftchain?

Too many clients were uploading their pictures without verifying ownership or copyright. We needed a team to improve our blockchain system to check the status of each picture users upload.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created a Hard Fork protocol to clarify the ownership of each picture. They also used JavaScript and Python.

What is the team composition?

Most of our contact was through two project managers. We also worked with one frontend, one backend, and two blockchain developers. The whole team was between five and six people.

How did you come to work with Craftchain?

One of our clients worked with them and recommended them. We researched them and decided they would be a good fit.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $142,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in November 2017 and finished in the middle of March 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project is still new, but we are checking on our client interaction with the site and the system. So far, about 90% of our clients have already verified their ownership in the system and all our reviews look good.

How did Craftchain perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management was one of their strongest points. We had two project managers and their process was great. They were always contacting us for details and discussing our needs. They did everything we wanted.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their team is young, energetic, innovative, and creative. Their best point was their teamwork and communication with us. We gave feedback for each stage.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They might consider hiring more web developers; two wasn't quite enough for our project. They could do more if they were bigger.

I’m an optimization specialist for a silos company. We primarily sell silos for agriculture, providing consultations to help clients understand which kind of silo best suits their needs. In my role, I advise clients on all aspects regarding their supply chain.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Craftchain?

Our clients were looking for a better way to manage their supply chain. Since silos typically hold a high volume of material, there are some challenges when managing orders. Clients could either place a large order or had to deal with several small orders, which were difficult to track.

We realized that we could utilize blockchain technology to better check the supply chain. It would allow clients to keep exact records of their transactions, including the expiry date, which silos were filled, when silos should be emptied, supplier activity, and shipping dates. As a result, we approached Craftchain to build a software that did just that.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They developed a blockchain software that helped clients track logistics on their silos. The software is a private blockchain, so only company officials or those with permission could use the program. In terms of technologies, they built the software using Ethereum, which enabled users to establish smart contracts, automate checkups, track supplier activity, and ensure payment rollout. Clients could now see what a supplier did to their materials on any given date. Currently, we plan to demonstrate the software to clients and, eventually, sell it as a side product.

I mainly worked with two project managers, but there were also two blockchain developers, a frontend developer, and a backend developer.

How did you come to work with Craftchain?

Initially, we found them online. A former colleague of mine had worked with their parent company before and mentioned that they were opening Craftchain. He noted that they had a lot of business experience and wouldn’t open a company if they weren’t confident in their skills. Based on that personal recommendation and our own research, we reached out to them.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about €185,000 (approximately $214,500 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

Their work lasted from September 2017–August 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve just finished the project, so we don’t have any hard metrics yet. However, the software has vastly improved supply chain management, allowing clients to easily identify weak spots within their process. We’ve tested the software with clients and believe that it will improve their efficiency. Not only will deliveries be on time, on-shelf availability will also increase.

How did Craftchain perform from a project management standpoint?

We had two project managers, so there was always at least one person who handled our calls. They served as mediators between us and the developers, and I appreciated how they made the discussions comprehensible, even for people who weren’t tech-oriented. They communicated clearly, established a schedule, and stuck to timelines.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They had exceptional communication skills. In the beginning, it was difficult to approach the project because it was so expensive. We were dealing with pretty new technology, so no one on our team knew how to proceed. Craftchain set up clear goals, made sure that we understood the timeline, and guided us throughout the process. At the end of the day, the software works, and we’re glad that we collaborated with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It might be beneficial to have readymade materials on hand for new clients who aren’t knowledgeable about blockchain technology. This would make it easier for the client to grasp the entire project.
