I am a Writer/Director/Producer of a film production company.

I wanted a full re-brand and new website/business cards and the ability to have a logo for all of my work and e-mails. I wanted my company to stand out in a very cluttered space as there are so many production companies in my field.

I liked that Courtney was bespoke and boutique. I wanted a branding company that could listen to my story and create something very specific to me. Nothing generic. I selected CK Studio based on their excellent communication and their portfolio which contained really fresh and exciting ideas. I especially loved their use of colour, type face and originality.

Courtney Kim Studio interviewed me and had me fill out a questionnaire on who I was and what I wanted to get out of my new branding designs and strategy. We also had a a couple face to face meetings to go over everything which was great. It really made me feel confident. Next I got to see some early ideas and designs. We had further meetings and went over everything carefully. I was given several amazing options.

Each one was creative and very bespoke to my vision. I chose the ideas I loved and Courtney and her team communicated with me as to what to expect next and when. Finally they delivered my finals branding, my website, business collaterals, e-mail signature and everything I wanted/needed.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

I finally feel that I have my own brand and my own story to tell. It's great to have a personalised brand in a very cluttered space. I feel more confident in sending people to my website or giving them my business cards. I feel it shows professionalism and thats my work is of the highest standard.

We had regular meetings and updates as I went through the branding process. I could e-mail at any time and always received a reply. I found them to be professional but not rigid and I always felt welcome.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I think the bespoke creativity is the most important thing. You're paying for Courtney's years of branding experience and expertise. You're paying for a very personal experience where you can get branding done for your exact needs that lasts forever. because Courtney's designed a very clever in the way they last and communicate your business. They were affordable and just generally very easy to work with. They exceeded expectation.

The logo is going to be a part of our branding relaunch. It’s received very positive feedback already, and I think it represents our business much better than our old logo.

What were your goals for this project?

I wanted to generate more demand for my services. Since I relocated my studio, I wanted to attract new customers and build relationships from the ground up.

I wanted the branding for my service to appear as exclusive and high quality as my work. Specifically, I needed my new logo and website to have a high-end and classic look.

I met Courtney (Creative Director, Courtney Kim Studio) since we worked in the same building together. We got to know each other after exchanging business advice, and that’s when I gained confidence that Courtney could take my business to the next level. During our conversations, she listened and understood the details of my business and my clientele.

Courtney Kim Studio began by renewing the identity of my brand by changing the business name. Then, she created a logo and a small mark to add to my embroidery tags, name cards, swing tag, and dust bags.

After establishing the brand design, we added a shopping cart function to my website that allowed me to sell garments online and reach out to customers. She also assisted me with a printing process I had experienced difficulties with.

What was the team composition?

I mainly dealt with Courtney as my main point of contact, but I also spoke with other graphic designers and a copywriter.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Each time I displayed my logo or my new business cards, everyone said to me, "Wow, who did it?". The e-commerce site is more convenient for customers who are too busy to go out shopping, and I have noticed more customers inquiring about my work since it launched. Her suggestions to kickstart a referral marketing strategy have been very effective, and people have enjoyed it.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

It has been a slow and steady process, but that gave me the opportunity to really understand the creative work that goes into the process. The whole journey took me over a new learning curve, and I know it will continue to positively affect my business in the long term. 

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Courtney really listens and understands. She has a lot of experience and displayed great attention to detail. I can tell she loves her work and is passionate about what she does. The studio has guided me step-by-step through the journey, and I enjoyed every bit of the process and the outcome.

Are there any areas for improvement?

She takes time to produce quality work. But that didn't bother me as I enjoyed the slow process because it gave me enough time to think about her advice and then implement it. The studio's process was much like making a fine garment from scratch.

I asked to maintain an infinity symbol in the designs, and the team took that into consideration when creating my brand identity. I have been pleased with the result of the identity, colors, and professional look and feel of the brand.

It has been efficient. There have been no unnecessary meetings or queries throughout the process.  As a client, Courtney made me feel important.

I was impressed with how the team took my answers and transformed my preferences into visual representations of what my company is about.
