**Hire Better People... Faster!**
Core Matters helps ops-heavy business leaders build teams that actually stick.

We believe most hiring and retention problems don’t come from a lack of effort; they come from a lack of clarity. Unclear roles, inconsistent processes, and reactive decisions create turnover, frustration, disengagement, and stalled growth. Our work exists to change that.

Through the Core Fit Blueprint, developed over 20+ years of leadership, training, and real-world application, we provide simple, repeatable systems for hiring, onboarding, and retaining the right people. These aren’t HR policies or one-off workshops. They’re practical tools leaders can run, designed specifically for ops-heavy businesses to solve people problems.

The result is more than better hires. It’s aligned teams, stronger leaders, lower turnover, and the confidence to grow.

**The Review** — Jul 7, 2022

**Feedback Summary**: Core Matters, LLC's insights helped the client optimize their job postings, automate their job posting efforts, and fill 5–6 key positions in their company. They impressed with the individualized attention they provided as well as their genuine interest in fulfilling the client's recruitment needs.
"“I was impressed with the individualized attention that Core Matters, LLC provided us.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the HR manager for Concord General Contracting, a general contracting company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Matters, LLC?

The market, especially in the construction industry, is really tight. We were struggling to get people to respond to our job postings and hire employees. We needed a company that could provide us with recruitment guidance.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

Core Matters, LLC provided us with recruitment consulting services. We started the engagement with an initial discussion about their pricing and how the entire process would go. They didn’t actually bring candidates to us — instead, they helped us write the descriptions for our job postings and gave us some pointers on interviewing candidates, using our website to recruit people, and selecting our core values.

They trained me on our CEO and they did that through these recordings on their website that gave us pointers about how to go through the interview process, how to hire, how to write job descriptions, how to use your employees to recruit, and all kinds of stuff.

We would also meet once every two weeks to discuss any questions we had regarding the recordings. A lot of times during those meetings that we would do is we would actually go through and write the job posting descriptions together, basically training me how to go through that process without them moving forward.

Additionally, Core Matters, LLC helped us move to a different job posting platform. We were previously posting on Indeed and ZipRecruiter, and we used to pay around $20,000 grand just to do all of our job postings. Core Matters, LLC found us a platform where we can post all our job postings for just $138 per month, and the platform automatically feeds all of our job postings to all these other different job posting platforms like LinkedIn.

What is the team composition?

We’ve worked with Ryan (Founder) and Tammy (Chief of Staff).

How did you come to work with Core Matters, LLC?

Our CEO actually had found Ryan (Founder) through one of her CEO groups. We interviewed him and ended up bringing them in as our consultant.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $9,000 for the six-month training.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from January 2022–June 2022. We may use them again in the future, but for now, the initial coaching is done.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Core Matters, LLC was able to help us optimize the way we write and post our job postings online. Because we didn’t have to manually post all of our job postings on all of these different job posting platforms, we have been able to save a lot of time and money. We were also able to hire 5–6 key positions in our company using the job posting platform that Core Matters, LLC recommended to us.

How did Core Matters, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Core Matters, LLC did a great job at project management. They were really quick to respond throughout the engagement.

We primarily communicated through emails and Zoom meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was impressed with the individualized attention that Core Matters, LLC provided us. They really cared about us as a company and genuinely wanted us to succeed in our recruiting needs. I also appreciated how responsive and knowledgeable they were.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I have no complaints. Core Matters, LLC did a great job for us.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to have an open mind.

- Review Type: Phone Interview

**The Review** — Nov 14, 2024

**Feedback Summary**: Thanks to Core Matters, LLC, the client has built a purpose-driven and efficient hiring process. They’ve also become more efficient and implemented an effective approach to hiring. Overall, the team has done great work. They’re highly engaged, consistent, and responsive to the client’s requirements.
"“It always feels like we’re a priority to them, and we can rely on that.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the integrator and chief of staff for Chamberlin. We’re a financial and retirement planning company. I help with planning strategic objectives and holding the leadership team accountable.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Matters, LLC?Our main challenge was talent acquisition. We desperately needed a good strategy and solid processes. As a fast-growing company, finding great talent was the best way forward. We had to be quick in the marketplace but weren’t effectively attracting potential candidates, so we needed Core Matters, LLC’s help.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Initially, our HR specialist decided to pursue a different opportunity, and we didn’t have an immediate backfill to pick up the ball and run our recruiting efforts. Core Matters, LLC stepped in and provided us their services — we contracted one of their teammates to facilitate our recruiting process and complement our internal efforts. At present, Core Matters, LLC provides business consulting services. They have a robust training platform and have given us access to a complete learning library that breaks down key concepts and the best practices we should implement. They’ve also provided hands-on training with our HR team, spending time diagnosing our current status. They’ve taken a peek under the hood and walked us through that. What is the team composition? We mainly work with Ryan and Rebecca. How did you come to work with Core Matters, LLC?I met Ryan at a speaking engagement where he gave a presentation about his company, their philosophy, and the needs they supported as consultants. The message resonated with me, and the timing was perfect. We faced talent acquisition issues and beat our heads against the wall over our approach. Meanwhile, Ryan presented a fresh approach and new concepts, piquing my interest. My team and I immediately contacted Core Matters, LLC to engage. They seemed like an amazing fit. How much have you invested with them? We’ve spent around $75,000 on their services. What is the status of this engagement? The engagement started in January 2024, and it’s ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We’ve established purpose-driven and efficient processes. We now have an applicant tracking system (ATS) and have gained efficiencies with templated communications and workflows to manage that funnel. As we transition the HR roles, we’ve come up with a two-pronged approach delineating HR roles. We’ve created two new job positions and filled one of them; we’re in the process of filling the other position. This has been a better solution than the ones we’ve tried before. Overall, Core Matters, LLC has been awesome in setting us up with good job designs for new roles. They’ve helped us benchmark those positions and create good job ads with a message that resonates with candidates better. How did Core Matters, LLC perform from a project management standpoint? We’ve never had communication or timeline issues. Core Matters, LLC has a good structure; they put together a game plan, and we follow it. There’s a lot of note-taking and collaboration, and things are documented throughout the engagement. We routinely touch base, and they’re always available. It’s a same-day service — we pick up the phone, and they respond to our needs. It always feels like we’re a priority to them, and we can rely on that. Most of our communications are done in the ATS, especially during interviews. Other communications are done through email or with their proprietary platform. Everything is in a single point of truth they’ve developed, and we all have access to it. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?Ryan is super engaged with our team and has been consistent. Meanwhile, Rebecca has been absolutely instrumental in keeping the ball rolling while we develop a new strategy for our HR team. She’s ready, willing, and able to go above and beyond to help us where they can. What did you find most impressive about them?Working directly with Ryan has been exciting for us. He’s a visionary and wants to be directly involved. We enjoy working together because we push each other’s boundaries a bit. Overall, we’ve been satisfied with the partnership and enjoy working with them. We love them, and they serve as an extension of our team. Are there any areas they could improve? No, there aren’t any. Do you have any advice for potential customers?Don’t hesitate — make the call and get started. The sooner you start, the better off you’ll be.

It’s not just about writing job descriptions or posting job ads. They offer a total revamp and marketing scheme for potential new hires. In our case, they completely changed how we looked at hiring from top to bottom.

Core Matters communicates through weekly meetings via Zoom and Microsoft Teams and is flexible to adapt to the client's schedule.
"“I'd give Core Matters a 9 out of 10.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m Steve Burkholder, the president and COO of S&R Enterprises, LLC.I'm Mark Yerke the EVP of S&R Enterprises.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Matters? We hired Core Matters as a business consultant to assist in organizing and structuring S&R Enterprises for the future development of the company. We needed support for when myself, Steve, retires and exits, as well as the next generation of Mark taking over and, ultimately, Mark exiting and creating longevity for our company.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Core Matters has assisted us in restructuring the organization of the company and the HR department. Core Matters, LLC has assisted us in specific areas of our company, including our hiring process, employee retaining process, and marketing. We started meeting on a weekly basis after executing a contract and agreeing on the terms. Initially, I met with Ryan myself for the first 3 or 4 weeks. We still meet weekly 2.5 years later. What is the team composition? We’ve worked with up to three teammates from Core Matters, including Ryan. How did you come to work with Core Matters?I met Ryan when I was a member of the Steel Erectors Association of America's board. I enjoyed working with him, and we also hired the team on a colleague's recommendation. How much have you invested with them?We spend $10,000 a month. What is the status of this engagement? We started working together in April 2022, and the engagement is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? I'd give Core Matters a 9 out of 10; nobody gets a 10 in my book. Ryan's ability to get us to change and restructure our thinking process has allowed us to grow to a company of over 450 employees from about 200. We've also retained employees at a higher level: a year ago, we had 65 employees on our management team, and now we have over 90. Our ability to hire and maintain employees has significantly improved. How did Core Matters perform from a project management standpoint?Core Matters delivers on time and within budget. The team communicates well with us and is very flexible. As a construction company, we need time to pivot, and Ryan and his team always make time for us. We have weekly meetings via Zoom and Microsoft Teams. We also use emails, texts, and phone calls. Ryan is in the process of implementing Beekeeper and a couple of other platforms. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review? Ryan is a professional and caring individual. He sees the forest through the trees in an organization. He listens and adapts to the needs of individuals in that organization so that the company grows together and becomes stronger. He's a great relationship person. Are there any areas they could improve? The biggest area Core Matters can improve is understanding that a structured system has to have a human aspect. If you lose the human aspect of a procedure or policy, you won’t be as effective as you could be. Do you have any advice for potential customers?Be open. A lot of times, business owners are stuck in their ways and aren’t open to how an outside service provider can affect change. Leave your ego at the door and just listen. By doing that, you'll find an ally in Core Matters.

I can’t imagine engaging with any other team — their team is the best. Are there any areas they could improve? No, there aren’t any. Do you have any advice for potential customers?Core Matters, LLC has two levels of services. There’s a cheaper, self-paced version, but we’re paying for the personalized coaching from Ryan — it’s better than the cheaper version. Navigating the program by yourself isn’t as good.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Matters, LLC?We needed help strategizing and creating our organization's core values. We had existed as an organization for over 10 years without having defined core values in a written format. We also needed help developing a stronger work culture for our existing employees and a recruiting culture to find the right employees for our organization. We were exclusively an in-office organization and worked with Core Matters in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic when many employees weren't excited about coming into an office. We wanted to develop and refine our culture so employees would like to come into the office and enjoy the atmosphere.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Core Matters helped us refine our hiring approach to find employees that fit our culture. The team helped us create our company's core values and, more importantly, how to implement and live them daily. What is the team composition? We worked with Ryan and another teammate. How did you come to work with Core Matters?Core Matters, LLC was a referral, and we vetted them carefully. We had a good feeling going into our engagement. How much have you invested with them?We spent $22,000.What is the status of this engagement? We worked with them from January–March 2023.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? We’re a small boutique organization. When we started working with Core Matters, LLC, we had challenges with our employees' turnover rate and hires that didn't last for various reasons. After going through Core Matters, LLC's 90-day program, we attracted the right type of employees who thrive in our culture. We were also able to retain those employees, and our turnover rate was dramatically better. Two years before undergoing Core Matters, LLC's program, we lost 75% of our employees. We've only lost one employee since then. How did Core Matters perform from a project management standpoint?Core Matters, LLC provided a multifaceted communication process, typically via email. We had video sessions and face-to-face meetings since Ryan was in the same town. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?I want to highlight Ryan's work. What did you find most impressive about them?Core Matters, LLC had a repository of videos that were exhaustive and easy to navigate. If I needed to refresh on a principle, concept, or philosophy that Ryan taught us during the program, I could go back into that repository and grab it. I still receive emails from Ryan as a follow-up refresher on concepts that were taught during the program. Are there any areas they could improve? The principles taught during the program were so voluminous that sometimes, I got lost in the sea of information. That was because I couldn't keep up with having two full-time jobs and going through the program simultaneously.Do you have any advice for potential customers?Core Matters, LLC provides a lot of content that isn't fluff. To get the most out of it, you must be able to concentrate fiercely, focus on the matter, and give it your all. The team holds you accountable, so if you have an assignment and a week to do it, they’ll call you if you don’t finish it the following week. **BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.I’m the owner and general manager of PuroClean Disaster Restoration.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Matters, LLC?I hired Core Matters, LLC for our HR, coaching, and training needs. Simply put, they helped us revamp our hiring process from start to finish.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?Core Matters, LLC overhauled our recruitment process and the entire funnel. Then, they trained us and gave us tools to do things ourselves. We were looking to hire entry-level technicals, production managers, middle managers, and external sales representatives. The team coached us in drafting job descriptions. We did many tasks ourselves, but they taught us key elements. Our team then customized these elements. Moreover, Core Matters, LLC helped us revamp our company voice. They assisted in renewing our core values, purpose, and mission, which we conveyed in the job description for potential candidates. What is the team composition? We worked with Ryan (Founder) and Tammy (Chief of Staff). How did you come to work with Core Matters, LLC?They had a presentation at a convention or a regional meeting. I followed up with them at the end of the meeting. I chose them because they had a unique approach to the hiring process in the construction industry. We needed to change our own approach to the recruitment, vetting, hiring, and onboarding process, and the team had a good process for that. How much have you invested with them?We invested over $50,000. What is the status of this engagement? The engagement lasted from September 2022–February 2024.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? With Core Matters, LLC, we found four technicians, construction laborers, and two external sales representatives. How did Core Matters, LLC perform from a project management standpoint? They always communicated well and were available as needed between scheduled sessions. They also had a great online training portal and were always on time. We used Zoom calls for coaching and communication, as well as emails and phone calls as needed. We also had access to their resources and training videos. Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?Tammy was great. What did you find most impressive about them?Core Matters, LLC’s biggest strength was their unique and comprehensive perspective on the recruitment industry. Skills were secondary; they recruited based on the candidates’ fit for our culture. This approach was great because even if the candidates were skilled, they wouldn’t stay with us if they didn’t fit our culture. Are there any areas they could improve? They could’ve done more for us instead of just coaching us. We were stalled in getting some products done. They could’ve jumped in and done more for us when they recognized that. That would’ve been helpful.  Do you have any advice for potential customers?Figure out what you’re looking for in a candidate’s personality. You can train them for their skills, but you can’t change their personality — that’s what you have to figure out.

This goes for owners / managers, team building and clients. Without each of these there wouldn't be a business.Culture has always been important to me, but we never had any of it in writing. I now better understand that value of being clear on what we want our culture to be and using that to create our team to work together toward a common goal. I believe Core Matters does a great job of helping business owners and management teams understand the value of culture for their business. Are there any areas for improvement or something Core Matters, LLC could have done differently? The accountability calls are a good idea. They can be great or they can feel like, why am I on this call when I should be doing something else. Having more people on the call is generally a key to making the calls good. I'm not sure how to get everyone to understand that their presence on the calls is important for them and necessary for the rest of us

**Feedback Summary**: The client improved their processes seamlessly, thanks to the tracking system that Core Matters, LLC implemented. The team was highly responsive, and internal stakeholders were particularly impressed with the vendor's accuracy, transparency, and leadership skills.
""They delivered what they promised in their original quote.""

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I'm Controller at a mid-sized Construction company specializing in General Contracting and Construction Manager. I wear other hats that involve HR, recruiting, marketing, social media, etc.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Core Matters, LLC?

We were struggling to find qualified talent for our growing company. We had placed ads on the job boards online; however, our job ads were not successful in bringing the right people to our team.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

We were recommended to Core Matters to help solve our recruiting problem while also keeping retention high. We read through their website and videos and liked hearing a new way of thinking. We thought it would be worth the 3 month consultation and meetings.

Describe the project in detail and walk through their service package.

Core Matters helped us navigate our employee tracking system with better content in order to allow only qualified applicants to our email. They helped us write new job ads to attract the exact people we were looking for. Together we created a company branding by discussing what makes us tick and what's important to our culture.

We also established new core values, vision statement and purpose statement that we continue to discuss each quarter with our team, and reward members who achieve the values. Essentially, Ryan and Tammy taught us a new way of thinking, less business-oriented and more people-oriented.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We worked one-on-one with both Ryan and Tammy to walk through the process from beginning to end. There were zoom calls, email discussions for many topics we were training on, and help with writing job ads and any coaching questions.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

We are able to better understand and navigate the employee tracking system. We write our job ads and descriptions for open positions with the employee in mind, what's in it for them. After many months and postings for a certain position we were finally able to hire exactly the right person.

When asked why he chose our company, he said the job ad was completely different from anything he had ever seen before and he had to apply and see what we were about.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The communication was always prompt and answered or assisted our needs. Very responsive.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Ryan took a lot of one-on-one time with our owner to figure out who we are as a company. That helped us define our core values for our employees and any future employees.

We were also able to finally write and communicate our vision and purpose statements with our staff. It changed the way the leadership team thinks with regard to hiring.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We enjoyed all the experience and knowledge they were able to share of their other success stories. I believe they delivered what they promised in their original quote.

Moreover, they managed the project seamlessly, fixed issues quickly, and were good at answering questions and responding immediately via email.
"“The workflow was good, and they did an excellent job.”"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the general manager of a same-day plumbing service, repair, and installation company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Matters, LLC?

We needed to change and grow with the times. Since we were in a high-cost living area, recruiting and training people was challenging, so we needed help.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially had all our job descriptions; we had a third-party service provider helping us with that. Core Matters provided additional feedback and helped us reduce our extensive phone screening from 16–17 questions to five. We started looking at the culture fit to see if the candidates could join and fit in with the team. After that, we evaluated their experience.

What is the team composition?

We just worked with Tammy (Chief of Staff).

How did you come to work with Core Matters, LLC?

Our CEO introduced them to me. He came across a podcast, or somebody referred Core Matters to him. Afterward, I reached out and took over.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $9,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from June–September 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

It’s hard to put the finger on our success, but we’ve seen an increase in business. Now, we introduce employees to the leadership style, which is something unique we’ve added from our training with Core Matters. We also focus more on referrals; we give $500 for a referral and recognize the milestone publicly instead of just adding it to their check. In general, we’ve added some good ideas from their training and cascaded them into our own practices.

For example, we used to concentrate on the things that could disqualify a candidate instead of recognizing what was important. We started interviews under the impression that the person wouldn’t pass, having a bias. We now get plumbers involved so we have a panel interview to hire potential teammates. Also, our break-up letters are cleaner and more direct, and we stay in contact with candidates that get placed on the bench.

Additionally, we’ve started leaning toward social media.

How did Core Matters, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

They went at their own pace. If we had questions, they were good at answering. They had a weekly rhythm, and if we had to explore something further, there were ways to do that.

We gave them access to Greenhouse, our applicant tracking system. We needed help a couple of times because we couldn’t enroll, but they fixed the issues promptly. They also got back to us immediately and quickly replied to us via email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The portal was easy to navigate and kept track of progress. Overall, the workflow was good, and they did an excellent job.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They asked for access to our Greenhouse, but we didn’t see them doing anything with it. We also found that plumbers had their own underground network to show their work and share ideas, similar to social media. We didn’t mind sharing that with them, but they didn’t help much on the peer side; they just helped us with the prescreening questions and the cultural fit.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You must be committed and set time aside, or you can get behind. Don’t underestimate the volume of work involved in going through the videos. I had two and a half weeks where I was so busy I didn’t do anything, and I lost the rhythm of the regular training. In summary, you’ll get what you put into it, not what you pay for.

Core Matters helped us learn how to attract and hire the right people for our company as we continue to grow.

We chose Core Matters because of Ryan and because they helped us to redesign our process so we can learn and be successful even after the consulting period ended.

The process took several months. It included videos and webinars coupled with consulting and feedback.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were 2 people who worked with us, Ryan and Tammy. They were both helpful in explaining, keeping us moving forward and giving feedback and even help. They both understood us, so they were able to provide the unique help we needed.

They worked with us personally. They learned about us and helped us to communicate our message.

They communicate effectively over multiple channels and excel at distilling their client's core values, which are a valuable deliverable in their own rght.
""At the end of the process, you’ll know how to market yourself." "

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a human resource generalist for a roofing system company.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Matters, LLC?

We needed someone to help build our recruiting process.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

They built our referral and interview process, including the interview questions we have. We didn’t have any processes established when I came on board, and I didn’t have any experience building a process like this either, so Core Matters guided me through the process like experts.

We ran through modules that Core Matters provided for us, and they explained everything. There was a task to complete after every module, and we’d have a meeting to discuss any challenges I faced or questions I had. We went through our entire recruiting process after that. They were very helpful.

What is the team composition?

I work with Tammy (Chief of Staff) and Ryan (Owner). Neither of them have handed us off to anyone else. Ryan has been there for our entire relationship.

How did you come to work with Core Matters, LLC?

It would have been positive for them to be experienced in the roofing industry, but we were mostly looking for them to fit our core values. You can train someone in your work, but you can’t train someone in their core values. Core Matters and our company have nearly the exact same beliefs. We found them through Google.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $14,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We’ve been working together since January 2022.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We had 25 open positions when we began, and at the end of our 90-day program, we’re down to one opening. It’s amazing.

How did Core Matters, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Email, Zoom, and phone calls are our main methods of communication; Core Matters is responsive, answering our questions within the same business day.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their main focus is looking for a culture fit among their candidates, so they take time to get to know their clients’ core values. If you don’t have those defined, Core Matters will help you set them up in a way you feel strongly about. At the end of the process, you’ll know how to market yourself.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Honestly, my experience with their team has been amazing. They work very well with us.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My biggest piece of advice is to keep up with their modules, as it will help you get the most out of the relationship. You’ll be kicking yourself if you fall behind.

"“Their priority is actually to help clients, not what they might get out of the deal.”
"

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the owner of a company that helps businesses drive results.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Matters, LLC?

I partner with Ryan (CEO, Core Matters, LLC) on several projects. Many of my clients are growing very quickly and are struggling to find the right hires because the unemployment market is low, and Ryan is great at finding the best people for the job.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

The main thing they do for our clients is finding the right people to hire for their teams. Ryan researches the values of a company and what’s going on within it before gathering resumes and potential hires. He consults with each client, screening, vetting, and promoting the businesses. Their team works closely with the companies throughout the entire process.

What is the team composition?

Almost all of my contact has been with Ryan directly, but my assistant coordinates with his team.

How did you come to work with Core Matters, LLC?

We were introduced at a workshop where I was speaking. We immediately recognized some opportunities to work together. Now, we’ve been partnering on different deals for several years.

How much have you invested with them?

We have more of a partnership; my clients have probably invested about $15,000 collectively with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in 2017 and continue to collaborate on projects together.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their team makes a huge difference, and overall my clients are satisfied. With their support, one of my clients filled all of their open positions within three months that they had been struggling to fill before.  Ryan finds tons of potential candidates for various positions, whereas some competitors grapple to find one.

How did Core Matters, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Ryan is easy to connect with over phone and email and is on top of everything. He’s been the driving force of the project, setting up meetings and holding everyone accountable. Part of what makes them successful is his management skills.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their priority is actually to help clients, not what they might get out of the deal. There have been a few instances when I’ve thought something would be a perfect fit, but Ryan will discover a few details that I didn’t know were important. He then tells us what to do but will also acknowledge that we don’t need his help for that particular task. I think that’s so impressive and it doesn’t cost my clients.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not that I can think of.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Trust the process. I’ve seen how they work enough times to know that it’s different from other recruiting companies. They know what they’re doing.

Well-versed in both digital and traditional marketing, the team employs a methodical, efficient approach that produces consistent results.
""I am most impressed by how much they actually care for their clients."
"

**BACKGROUND**
Please describe your company and your position there.

I own 10 to 1 Public Relations, a strategic communications firm. We use proactive media relations to grow, maintain, and protect our clients’ brands, as well as build positive awareness of their companies.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
For what projects/services did your company hire Core Matters, LLC?

We serve many clients who often struggle to find good blue-collar job candidates for open positions. Though we excel at media relations, we partner with Core Matters to help those clients attract and onboard the right hires for their business.

What were your goals for this project?

The goals vary with the customer, but there are several that are fairly common, such as: reducing cost per hire; reducing time to hire; improving both the quantity and quality of applicants; developing a brand based on culture; and systematizing and automating the hiring process.

**SOLUTION**
How did you select this vendor?

We met while working with a mutual client. I was extremely impressed by their thoroughness and genuine desire to help the client achieve their goals. I also found Core Matters’ owner to be candid and honest, promising only what he could deliver and delivering everything he promised.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

Core Matters works directly with company leadership to understand and remove friction points. This often consists of formalizing processes and company culture. Once these issues are acknowledged internally, Core Matters can then apply their marketing efforts toward promoting and recruiting new employees. Operating based on this common understanding increases the quality of the candidate, their ability to succeed within the company, and their likelihood to remain long-term.

What was the team composition?

Though I have worked directly with the owner, I know that his team behind the scenes has been active in creating and implementing the established strategy.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Not only has Core Matters helped refine processes and develop the culture within my own company, but they have done so with our clients as well. Their improved processes have reduced the cost per hire and expedited employee recruitment time.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Core Matters’ emphasis on the process is evident in their workflow. They have been very easy to work with and always meet their deadlines. With the owner personally reviewing the entire team’s work, I have been consistently happy with their results.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I am most impressed by how much they actually care for their clients. I feel safe recommending them to my clients knowing that they will serve all parties with the highest levels of integrity and aplomb.

They also know how to use their digital and traditional marketing expertise to target the intended audience, generate the best results, and achieve the desired goals. The way they use and refine best practices for traditional marketing to improve recruiting and hiring is impressive in its directness but brilliant in its execution.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Their process works, so there is no need to fix what works.

I’m the president of Shelby Erectors. We’re a construction company based in Florida, and we provide rebar installation, SIP metal decking installation, and bridge work.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Matters?

We were trying to hire and maintain a quality workforce. We were finding it difficult to find quality workers to work in our industry and retain them. We have a high turnover, since our industry is a tough trade, and it’s outside in the Florida heat. We were looking for high-quality employees that would have some loyalty.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?

When Core Matters came on board, they helped us establish our core values, evaluate what we stood for, and figure out who we were looking for in the hiring process.

What is the team composition?

We work directly with Ryan (CEO, Core Matters).

How did you come to work with Core Matters?

We first learned about Core Matters at a national convention. We heard a presentation that led us to an interview with them; we liked what they had to say.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested $100,000 – $250,000.

We began working together in July 2018, and our work is ongoing.

How did Core Matters perform from a project management standpoint?

Core Matters performs great in terms of project management. I look forward to every single weekly meeting; I feel like my leadership team and I always get something out of them. We do Zoom meetings, so we can see and hear each other.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was really impressed when Ryan flew out to our national convention in April and met with us face-to-face. He went to all of our meetings and tried to understand our scope of work a lot better; I think that was fantastic.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, nothing comes to mind. We’re doing great with Core Matters.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

My most important word of advice is to not be afraid to spend the money to get the quality work back. As a small business, it was a little scary to put that investment monetarily in; we couldn’t be more thankful that we made that commitment. Don’t just look at the price tag and say no; give them a chance, and you won’t regret it.

**BACKGROUND**
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are a small electrical contractor. We have a small construction division and a service division. I'm the CEO.

**OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE**
What challenge were you trying to address with Core Matters, LLC?
We wanted help with recruiting and finding the right people for our business.

**SOLUTION**
What was the scope of their involvement?
They helped us create a hiring system, and they continue to help us make it better. They've also assisted with lead generation and process automation. They have a good mind for marketing, and they take our industry-specific ideas and make them impactful in terms of lead generation.
They're an integral part of our systems and processes, and they bring on new systems and app that matter. They give us the pros and cons of every system we consider, and their knowledge is way ahead of the curve. We look to them as our technical expert, and working with them is great for us.
What is the team composition?
I only have one point of contact, but the whole team is bigger. Everyone on their team is top-notch, and they ask all the right questions. Everything they do runs smoothly.
How did you come to work with Core Matters, LLC?
We're part of the same entrepreneurs’ organization, but I heard about them from a friend in another group. I followed up on that recommendation, and we've worked together ever since.
How much have you invested with them?
We pay them around $2,000-$3,000 per month, depending on the work we bring them. We've probably spent near $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The partnership started in August 2017, and our work together is ongoing.

**RESULTS & FEEDBACK**
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The tangible deliverable is the hiring system we use. We have other applications we use every day. Lead generation and total ticket count have gone up, partly thanks to their contributions. Sales are up, and all our systems are better.
How did Core Matters, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management is stellar. They have a tracking system for the process, and they finish everything on time. We communicate through phone, email, text, and in-person meetings. We've developed a strong personal friendship through this partnership.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The way they isolate our core problems is fantastic. We talk about those issues and find ways to resolve them. They make intuitive suggestions, and they are always to the point.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Whenever I have an idea, I can throw it at them to discuss the pros and cons. It's a good, functional deal, and I don't have any recommendations for improvements.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be honest and open with them. They're there to help, and they do a great job. We've gotten as far as we have because of our candidness with them.
