We hired Conceptzilla to help us modernize our UI/UX design for our mobile application for barbers and barbershop owners. If that project were to go well, our plan was to hire them for web design afterward.

A successful launch of our V1 mobile and web application. 

Onboard and retain our 5 early adopter customers for the first year after we launch.

Project management was very poor. Our communication was handled primarily through direct messaging on LinkedIn which was extremely odd. We did have a kickoff call to discuss our test project which seemed to go well. But they failed to deliver our designs on time.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their design portfolio on Behance and Instagram looked relatively good. I also liked their approach with trying to understand our brand and the needs of our target audience.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Conceptzilla could have done differently?

Absolutely. First, our sales rep I spoke with was extremely unorganized and seemed uninterested in anyhing other than providing me with pricing. 

Also, the creative product (who I had to choose for myself) was equally as unorganized. He communicated almost exclusively through LinkedIn direct messaging and never checked, or replied to, any emails throughout our entire engagement together. 

Despite sharing a moodboard that I put together for our brand and the UI/UX we're looking for, they came up with designs that look like were taken from outdated templates from the early 2010s timeframe. It seemed like the designer they chose did not have a strong enough skill set to product modern designs that we were looking for. 

Also, they commited to finishing designs for our test project within 7 days as part of their process. After 7 days I had to request a call, just to see what they were working on to help give them direction. After providing them with super detailed feedback on what I didn't like, they end up shipping pretty much the same poor quality design and 7 days late.

It seemed like super sloppy and rushed job. They told me that I'd have to pay for a full-time contract if I wanted revisions despite that I was guaranteed 1 round of revisions for the test project that I was charged $3K for. 

This whole experience seemed like a shady money grab.

Conceptzilla was tasked with designing a few key screens for a web project we are working on. Their designs were well-thought-out, but the ancillary elements (website header and footer) also included helpful thoughts and ideas. They also bundled the design and useful marketing assets such that a novice could use them. And all that for a fixed fee and 7-day turnaround!

The primary measurable outcome from the project will be the number of users acquired to participate in the project once launched; this has not happened as of the date of this review.

I have a lot going on, so the minimal touches needed by me to get the project from started to completed was exactly what I was hoping it would be. And a quick turnaround matches the cadence with which I move as well.

The Conceptzilla team was in a different time zone, so communications were not always in real-time, but that wasn't a problem. They were accomodating when needed.

We contacted them for the design of your website. The scope includes a landing page, a header with main navigation, web pages like About Us, a page to publish articles, an FAQs page, a services page, and a footer with complete extended navigation. For the second job, we gave them our mobile app for the entire UI/UX redesign. In the same direction and style of our website.

Although our app and website haven't been officially launched to the public yet, within our internal circle and among potential stakeholders, the new UI/UX design has received overwhelmingly positive feedback. The design and visual appeal have been widely applauded, and this early reception speaks to the outstanding quality of the work done by the company. We anticipate that this positive sentiment will translate into strong user engagement, higher conversion rates, and increased customer satisfaction once the platform is made accessible to a broader audience.

While they excelled in bringing our vision to life, additional creative input could take their service to the next level. This could involve suggesting innovative design elements or proposing alternative solutions to common UX challenges. 

However, it's important to note that this is a minor suggestion for potential improvement, and it doesn't diminish the outstanding work they've done for us. Overall, Conceptzilla's performance was exceptional, and we are highly satisfied with the results.

We were looking to build a mobile app and required assistance with mobile app design. Conceptzilla has an incredible portfolio so we decided to partner with them - and it was the best decision we made. Our mobile app has 6 screens, and is designed to allow our creators to login and access sales and analytics data. Initially we thought we didn't need a dark mode, but at the end of the project we changed our mind and Conceptzilla was incredibly kind to accommodate a dark mode at such a late stage.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The mobile app design concepts produced by Conceptzilla were simply outstanding.They went above and beyond our expectations, and are team are super excited to be launching an app with the incredible designs. Conceptzilla provided concepts for 6 mobile app screens, and are also producing a dark mode version of these designs for us. We couldn't have asked for a better company to work with. 

The Conceptzilla team constantly communicated with us throughout the process to ensure we had alignment. They are really professional, kind and have a high degree of attention to detail. I'm sure the designs will impress our customers just as much as they've impressed us.

We had Zoom meetings and communicated with email frequently throughout the process. The Conceptzilla team wanted to ensure that they received as much context about our requirements and the vision we had. They communicated and over-delivered. We provided some rough wireframes and they consulted with us about every part of our initial thoughts to ensure that these ideas could be turned into something incredible for our customers. 

Just speaking with them you can get a sense of their deep expertise with design. They promised the designs would be completed in 1 week and were as good as their word. At the beginning of the process I thought we just needed a light mode for the design, and when they asked if we required a dark mode I said we wouldn't at the moment. 

However at the end of the process I changed my mind and the Conceptzilla team were super kind and responsive enough to accomodate this change of requirements at such a late stage. They're professional, communicative, experienced and really accommodating.

• Flight listing screen displaying the relevant flight options with key details like airlines, prices, and departure/arrival times.

• Booking screen for users to review flight details, select seats, and proceed to payment. 

And we also wanted some basic branding that would cover logo design, typeface, and a color palette. Thus, the key deliverables were:

• logo design in various formats (vector, PNG, etc.); 
• typeface and colors selection and implementation guidelines.
