Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

We provide full-service patient itineraries and compensation management to increase and maintain patient participation throughout clinical studies. All data is housed within our portal (proprietary software platform). Our proprietary software platform is hosted on cloud servers across the world. We follow the Agile software development framework and, as part of that, are regularly upgrading our software to meet new client needs, develop new offerings, and improve existing service levels.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The additional Developers provided have increased our development capacity and freed higher-level developers to focus on more challenging issues. The Quality Assurance engineers have improved the quality of our releases dramatically and continue to proactively identify issues in testing. They provide expert dedicated testing of the system.

They have been very responsive to any ask or requirement we have had for them. They are diligent and hard-working. They are always timely in their work.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

All of their contractors are very fluent in English and communicate very well. They always reach out if they have questions regarding any of their assignments to get proper clarification. They all work quickly and hard to onboard onto the project and get up to speed so they can contribute as soon as possible. Furthermore, they provide excellent suggestions and guidance in solving various technical and operational problems to help us operate better as a company.

I’m the senior product manager at a software company. We make software for courts across the US.

What challenge were you trying to address with Codolis?

We needed a staff augmentation provider who could take our specifications, learn our software platform quickly, and provide development.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Codolis provides us with development and QA staff augmentation. Their resources join our internal teams with alternate work hours. We include them in our agile sprints, and they do development, testing, and bug fixes. We’re a Java-based company, so Codolis’ resources work with that technology stack. The team also helps us with design. 

They’ve helped create and develop jury software for us. We’re currently doing new interfaces and development, and the Codolis team will be involved in gathering requirements, evaluating, and writing the statement of work. Then, they’ll do development and help us with QA. Their QA resources use test reels, and they’ve created automation testing for us. 

What is the team composition?

We currently have four software developers and three QA resources from Codolis working full-time with us. 

How did you come to work with Codolis?

One of our senior developers is from Serbia and came across Codolis on a trip there, so he interviewed them. Although we had looked at other options, we hadn’t had great success, so our senior developer was really excited when he found Codolis. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $1 million–$5 million. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in 2018, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Codolis quickly responds to bug fixes and has a quick turnaround on reports or anything we assign to them. We’ve had difficulty giving them enough work to do because they get things done very quickly. Moreover, they’ve been able to learn our software fast. 

We initially had two developers we trained because our software is very involved and complicated. Since then, they have trained any new staff that has joined the team, which has been very helpful for us. As a result, Codolis can ramp up the team very quickly. For example, we recently hired two additional engineers that the Codolis team trained, and they’ve already turned around two tickets. 

Overall, Codolis is very focused and a great addition to our internal team. From our initial contact, working with them has been a great experience. 

How did Codolis perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re good at meeting deadlines and staying on budget. We use Jira, BitBucket, and Confluence for project management. As for communication, we use Microsoft Teams, Outlook email, and phone calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Codolis is very engaged, and when we need things done, they put in the extra effort to make sure they deliver on time. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have constructive feedback for them; we’ve had a very positive experience. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I highly recommend Codolis to anyone; they learn quickly and have a bright staff. I advise having a lot of work prepared for them because they work through tickets very fast.

I’m the managing director and co-founder of an IT company that provides outsourcing services.

For what projects/services did your company hire Codolis?

We were trying to upgrade our technical team quickly and potentially ensure that we were doing it economically to meet the client’s expectations for reasonable pricing.

SOLUTION

How did you select this agency and what were the deciding factors?

Codolis provides full stack software developers (Python, Spring Boot, Vue/React/Angular, AWS) and QA engineers for us. Although it is an outsourced relationship with them and they feel like part of our team and organization.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

We have had around ten people working on our projects during this cooperation, including DevOps, frontend and backend developers. We started working together in February 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

They were referred to us by a business partner. We met them, assigned a small project, and they delivered well, so we decided to expand the partnership with their team. We have had around ten people working on our projects during this cooperation, including DevOps, frontend and backend developers.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

We’ve launched an application that can be used by marketing companies in Europe. Codolis team members understand the challenges that companies had and help to resolve them — they have the knowledge and experience to do the analysis and come up with solutions for our business.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Their understanding of the project and their flexibility to create and modify application, and then to launch it successfully are also good. It’s been a good experience for us to work with them on a project basis. Regarding communication, we use Microsoft Teams, weekly meetings, and an internal chat system to keep the team updated.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The quality and creativity of their staff are outstanding. Additionally, they will go out and hire developers or QA, where necessary, for the position. Sometimes, they have folks internally already, who may not have an existing project, and they're able to reposition into a project of ours. Most of the people that we've hired weren't already working for N-iX. We went through interview processes with those folks
