Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

The scope of work performed by CodiFive for the Wodociągowiec.pl portal was divided into several stages, with an emphasis on the quick and effective implementation of key site functions within the first three months. The initial task was to remove significant errors and problems that could negatively affect visitors' first impression. 
The contractor also developed mechanisms for efficient management of subsequent portal editions, including publication planning, automation of content rotation on the main page, and support for regional editions, tailored to user locations. 
As part of the key solutions, improvements to the user interface were also implemented to make the site more visually attractive (including on mobile devices), and various versions of illustrative graphics for articles were provided, tailored to different presentation places on the portal. We also wanted integration of the site with Google Analytics to analyze traffic and user behavior, which was done. 
This was accompanied by network security and data protection. In subsequent stages of the project, CodiFive focused on increasing the portal's loading speed, integration with social media, which facilitated content sharing, and the implementation of SEO, so that the content was better indexed by search engines. Additionally, they limited spam coming through forms.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

After three months of work, we were able to effectively run the portal (and we do so up to this day), publish content, post advertisements, and build the brand. We published over 650 editions, close to 1800 articles, and our base of experts and authors has grown to over 20 people.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Title: “AssistMed” project- a tool for rapid data extraction from textual data for cardiovascular research. Retrospective and observational analyses are an essential part of cardiovascular research. The adoption of Electronic Health Records (EHR) improved the availability of medical documentation for research purposes, but rapid data collection needs to be enhanced by the predominantly unstructured nature of EHR data. 

A significant proportion of data is textual information that can only be utilised for research purposes once it is manually coded into a database by a healthcare professional (manual chart review)- this conventional method is both cost- and time-consuming. Text mining could accelerate the process, but little is known about attainable data accuracy and estimation of time gain. 

We developed a comprehensive text-processing tool for the cardiology field. The algorithm employs advanced text processing based on a specifically designed, vast database of medical terminology, drug lists and echocardiography parameters with a data structure tailored to the needs of cardiovascular research conduction. 

The algorithm can automatically analyse three types of textual data which are universal parts of discharge summary in Poland: 

1. descriptive list of medical diagnoses;
2. discharge recommendations;
3. echocardiography report (if performed). 

The diagnosis detection algorithm was implemented efficiently through a combination of the own-developed dictionary, rules, and machine learning components of the spaCy library. Medication and dosage detection algorithm utilised: own-developed dictionary, rules, machine-learning components of Med7 library, machine translation through Google translate. Echocardiography parameters detection includes an own-developed dictionary and rules.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Accurate identification of medical diagnoses, medications and echocardiographic parameters. The results of the project were accepted and presented at the international medical conference (https://academic.oup.com/europace/article/25/Supplement_1/euad122.546/7…) and is accepted to several other international medical conferences. Scientific publication is being prepared.

On-time. The entire team was very responsive and addressed all of the complexities of the project.
