I’m a department head at a FinTech company mainly focusing on FOREX-related operations. In my role, I act as an interim C-level executive and am responsible for our IT people.

What challenge were you trying to address with CodeXteam?

When I joined, we started growing very rapidly. However, it was hard for us to find new internal talent in the market. Thus, we decided to find an outsourcing partner who could provide us with resources we could use on special projects with the option of hiring them internally in the future.

What was the scope of their involvement?

CodeXteam provides us with IT resources who work on our different projects. Our engagement is very collaborative. First, they do a lot of prescreening and candidate evaluations on their end. Then, we take the potential candidates through our internal recruitment processes to ensure we hire quality talent.

CodeXteam reached out to us when we were looking for service providers.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $500,000–$600,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in early-to-mid 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Of the 10 outsourcing service providers we’ve worked with, CodeXteam has achieved the highest success rate regarding candidates reaching the final stages of our internal interview process. Moreover, we’ve measured the success of our engagement based on our cost savings. Since working with them, our operational costs have decreased by 1.5 times.

In addition to that, CodeXteam’s resources are very efficient. Compared to our internal resources, they deliver 1.5 times faster. They’re always eager to go the extra mile and work through issues outside of their scope in order to get the job done, which ultimately makes them very efficient and productive.

How did CodeXteam perform from a project management standpoint?

CodeXteam is very responsive and transparent, and they always provide us with accurate estimates of when we can expect work to be completed. So far, we haven’t had any issues with those expectations.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The most impressive thing about working with CodeXteam is that we don’t have any issues. I’ve worked with other vendors, and we’ve eventually ended up escalating issues regarding their performance or other situations. However, working with CodeXteam is very easy; we just hire resources, and they get to work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be great if CodeXteam were less expensive. Additionally, it would be very helpful if they provided whole, readily-operational development teams. Whenever we work on a new product, we need to hire resources individually and assemble the team ourselves. Thus, having complete teams ready to work would benefit both parties.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Identify your hiring process and evaluate which parts of that process you can outsource to CodeXteam. They’re great at recruiting and staff augmentation overall, but they can also focus on certain parts of the process if you need them to.

I was the CEO of Medici Africa. We provided a telehealth solution for patient to doctor remote care.

The goal was to develop a stable telehealth solution that would provide features that facilitated patient to doctor clinical consultations

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Based on their experience in the field of healthtech.

We needed to develop a mobile application (android and IOS), develop frontend (based on React), develop backend, based on Java and ensure a horizontally scalable platform with a concurrent user base of at least 5000 users.

10 people in total. IOS developer Android Developer 4 Backend Developers 2 Frontend Developers 2 QA Engineers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Results were greater than expected. Measurable included new features released every two weeks Outcomes included more than 30 features with varying degrees of complexity. Horizontally scalable and able to process 10000 simultaneous users The platforms AppDex is 1. and we had no reports of any outages.

Their reliability and professionalism were at an exceptionally high level. They listened to our needs and offered ideal solutions to complex problems.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They brought a high degree of experience to the table. From their past experience, building healthtech, they were able to bring ideas and solutions that no one else may have considered. They became a valuable part of our team.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Not at all. We were delighted with the product and relationship that we had forged with the team.

I’m the CEO and founder of a telemedicine application that enables doctors and patients to connect remotely and securely all around the world.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with CodeXteam? 

After failing to find an available telemedicine application we could use internally as well as resell, we brought on CodeXteam to create a white-label solution.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

CodeX helped us move through each phase of the project, including development and design, implementing changes, and overcoming issues. They were responsive throughout the process and developed innovative solutions. Right now, we’re at the finish line and are beginning to put the application in front of customers to test. 

What is the team composition?

Maxim (VP of Engineering) was the project manager. He worked with a very smart team of engineers to ensure that everything we requested was delivered. I was pleased with the work ethic and abilities of their team. They accomplished tasks I wasn’t sure were feasible. 

How did you come to work with CodeXteam? 

We used a search service called Upwork and received 200 responses to our project. I interviewed a lot of different vendors and settled on another company before encountering CodeXteam. CodeXteam’s energy agreed with me, and they were willing to be very helpful beforehand, giving us guidance on how the collaboration would work. Additionally, they’d performed well with companies in similar fields beforehand. 

I felt comfortable and safe speaking to Maxim during this period; he seemed very upfront and transparent about costs and ideas. CodeXteam proposed their own ideas on how to make an efficient collaboration.

We spent around $500,000 with them. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from July 2020–July 2021, but there were many delays with filing patents and trademarks. These steps had to be taken before we put work out into the wild to retain rights. CodeXteam did a great job with our adjustments and changes throughout the whole process.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The feedback has been very positive. When you’re developing a product like this, you don’t know what’s going to happen; you’re in the dark and there’s a lot of uncertainty about whether you’re taking the right steps. Every time we had a meeting with CodeXteam, we only felt positive afterward. They made it clear that the product was working and that we were moving towards what we envisioned. 

How did CodeXteam perform from a project management standpoint?

They did a great job with deadlines. Maxim was very good at maintaining schedules. Every week we received a plan of what they were going to do — there was a list of features to be worked on and dates they expected them to be completed. 

Most of the setbacks were on us, as we made changes to the scope that CodeXteam had to adapt to. They performed well in this regard, helping us understand the impact of the changes on our timeline.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their technical capabilities were their strongest attribute, and their communication was also great. I’d never developed software before and he helped guide me through that process of determining what a sprint was, what an MVP was, and how the whole software development process worked. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

We did have time zone differences, meaning communication was not instantaneous. I was pretty pleased with everything else; nothing negative comes to mind. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

As long as you’re both on the same page regarding what you want and where you’re trying to go (taking written notes and recording videos helps), CodeX will be efficient and effective. If they’re waiting on you to complete a task, then the work will be delayed. Get out of their way so they can get involved.
