Front- and backend development of custom Wordpress theme for revised Goodtime Monty website, including custom animation and some light integration of plugins and analytics. Key deliverables were providing staging site for QA review, making adjustments, setting up analytics, optimizing site performance, migrating site and going live.

Early and mid-development were managed through Asana with some collaboration on Slack & email. Once the first version was delivered, feedback was provide to them on our side via Notion and developers responded to comments on there. This was very efficient. 

I was also given direct access to frontend developer on Slack for efficient synchronous communication to speed up discussions and decision-making without having to go back and forth via a PM. This was a coveted communication path for us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Despite not having any sites in their portfolio that had the kind of engaging animation we desired on the site, we still chose CodeQ because we believed that their partner-like process was best for us at this stage and that they possessed the technical capabilities we would require. This instinct turned out correct. 

While the early animations were not pixel perfect, their very talented frontend team was very eager to accept the challenge and meet the needs of a sometimes demanding client until everything was animated and designed as specified. Their professional commitment to getting everything right was extremely valuable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Codeq could have done differently?

Wrapping up the project could have gone smoother with clearly defined steps driven by the PM. Instead I felt I was mostly driving this process which as an experienced marketer was no problem, but other people might appreciate/need more handholding. We had a small delay after first revisions when the lead frontend developer went on holiday but this is just reality.

We started with a brief and a meeting that clarified our expectations. Then we defined the priorities and the project team. We followed the progress of work on Asana and made monthly statuses. Each month we also received a report with tracking time on individual tasks.

• Thanks to implementation the Hubspot forms, we started to collect marketing leads on the website. 
• We reduced the number of plugins in favor of proprietary solutions by 80%.

• We observed significant increase in the number of leads from forms on offer subpages

We had good and regular communication between our teams, which meant that we were on track with tasks as much as possible, as well as with current challenges and priorities in Semcore. I mean regular calls and work on Asana.

I've never had an answer that something is impossible. Instead, each time I could expect a creative approach and searching for solutions.

Perhaps there was a lack of more frequent meetings in the form of workshops, during which we would be able to jointly develop assumptions for projects or optimize already created projects (such meetings were held several times and it was probably valuable).

I’m an executive for a natural foods and drinks company. We operate in a D2C subscription model. We launched our business in October 2020.

Our platform is based on WooCommerce and WordPress; there are both subscription and one-time purchases. We put in a lot of effort to make them as simple as possible so everyone can make a purchase. Our main goal is to make the experience pleasant because we have consumers older than 55–60 years old; they should be able to make purchases without hassle.

We met each other on a Facebook group. We discussed our needs with them, and they initially implemented a subscription to our website. Given how good their service was, we decided to make them our prime service provider for our e-commerce website.

We started working together in September 2021, and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve significantly improved the website’s overall UX design. People haven’t complained about the website, so the product matches our customers’ expectations. Our average review is 4.3; for Google, we’re at 4.8. Moreover, we’ve had an increase in web traffic and conversion rates. We’ve also decreased the website loading time from nine seconds to 3.5–3.8 seconds. Overall, Codeq has put a lot of effort into making the site look beautiful and useful. Although we’re not done, we’ve made considerable progress.

How did Codeq perform from a project management standpoint?

They deliver on their promises and within deadlines. We use Asana for project management and Google Meet and phone calls to communicate.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The team really knows how to plan. We’re happy with them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could provide even more services if they had more developers on board. Sometimes we had to wait 1–2 months because their developers were busy.

We are a team with several years of experience in managing facilities with very complex structures, including facilities where a significant amount of shares is held by, to mention one, hotels. Our team deals with the administration and management of residential and commercial real estate as well as the combining these functions.

The main goal of the project was to create a new brand "Harmonia", which included designing a brand book, logo, advertising materials and above all, a website focused on the implementation of marketing goals. The new website works very quickly and efficiently. What is more, managing it through the administration panel is sheer enjoyment.

Codeq is located in the same city where I run my business and I had heard a lot of positive opinions as well as recommendations from trusted friends who have worked with them before. This is the second project we have worked on and I am very pleased with the final effect as well as the individual approach to my needs. I especially like their commitment and substantive help at every stage of the project.

My business was in need of a new brand design and it truly needed to come into appearance on the Internet. Codeq designed everything I expected: a brand book, logo, design system, website. The website was created completely from scratch - first a graphic prototype was designed and later a dedicated graphic design. The website is powered by WordPress with a minimum of plugins, making it very fast and efficient in addition to being extremely easy to manage.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The designed brand of my company and the launch of a new website is a real milestone for my business. Just a few weeks after the website premiered and marketing measures were taken, interest in the website started to grow. I am very optimistic about the next months of working together with Codeq to further develop the website.

It all started with a few online meetings (Google Meet). We talked in detail about my business goals, goals to be met and the project vision. For further communication, we used tools such as Slack and Asana, on which weekly statuses (every Monday) were carried out with the progress of work. I rate the communication and the way of managing the project very highly. All deadlines were also met.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their knowledge of programming dedicated to WordPress projects is particularly impressive - they know it inside out. I also greatly appreciate the advice on planning goals. What is more the overall project management is also a big plus.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I can't think of anything - every problem was solved in a flash and there was only a small number of general fixes in the design itself.

We needed a new website, with a fresh up to date look and feel and functionality. We knew we wanted customized WordPress, but important was the navigation, ease of access to information, and flexibility in terms of adding sections and managing content internally.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Codeq was selected based on their reply to our RFP that we sent to selected agencies. We were looking for a partner big enough to be stable and reliable (and experienced) but small enough so we knew they will treat us individually, not just as "another account". We didn't want to have a big agency sell us unnecessary features or a boxed solution. We wanted someone for whom our project will be important and who will listen exactly to our needs.

Codeq started the project with a couple of workshops where we identified our expectations, needs, and success factors for the new website. They worked with my team and our designer / web admin to get everything agreed before the actual work started. This was followed by a detailed timeline of milestones for the project which we were able to follow over the rest of the project.

Of course, we, as a client, had some changes and new ideas that were also incorporated. They also had to coordinate some stuff with our inhouse IT department. Most of the work was done remotely. We met face to face only once for one of the workshops.

As far as I can tell, we were serviced by Codeq's CEO (Paweł) and two or three top employees. Among those a web developer and a designer. Our own designer / web admin was also in almost daily direct contact with Codeq.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We managed to create a website that a) was on schedule b) met are needs c) received a very well response from employees and management.

Over the recent time we have been able to expand it (on our own and with Codeq's help) and we see an increase in new candidates for our company (that's one of the main purposes of this website).

We used Google Meet / Slack / phone and emails for communication. There was never a problem with responsiveness or someone going MIA (which actually happened with our previous developer before Codeq).

I personally appreciated the level of understanding shown by Codeq for our style which is unavoidable in a big organization.

I think that in this time and era of 'spoiled' IT firms, and buzzwords everywhere, Codeq is very down to earth and 'lean' in its ways. Never did I have a feeling that I'm sold something I don't need or want. We got what we paid for and the stress level of everyone involved was low. This was important to us because this project was too important to be somehow mismanaged.

As one can see from this review I'm quite a satisfied customer, so it's hard for me to suggest at this points any changes.

A new store is futureproofed with incredible performance.

We needed a new website on WordPress and we had 4 main challenges: finding an idea for alarge amount of unstructured content, educating users about our products, generating new leads, easy use of the website.

Codeq designed and developed our new website on WordPress with ACF PRO plugin. The role of Codeq was to build the website from scratch including the UX design and testing. The new website has several main areas (company image / offer / blog / education) and goals have been defined for each of them.

Programmers showed up a great deal of innovation and initiative throughout the whole development. For front-end they used webpack and gsap (for some animations).

The new website is much more modern, prettier and better (ux, code, seo) in every way. We see no bugs on any website (no unresolved url etc).The Codeq team also used plugin ACF PRO which as turned out is fabulous and website is really easy to manage.

We had weekly status meeting. They talked to us about what is completed and what are next steps to take. The deadline was met by their team. We had no communications problems.They used Asana for project management, and we communicated by email and Google Meet on top of that.

Their team is very knowledgeable. They were organized and communicative and responded to requests in a timely manner.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No complains, because the team delivered what they promised. However i have an advice: initially ask a customer simple questions: do you expect Codeq to deal with content? do you want Codeq to edit pictures, write headlines, prepare articles (seo optimized) so that Codeq is with you till the moment that the website is actually published. In our case we have a beautiful website that has not been activated (published) because we have no content. I

nstead, we still use our old website. I have an impression that there is always sth more important than a new website. So i would prefer to have a team that pushes the project till the website is actually published. Next time i will know.
