What challenges were you trying to address with Codepaper?

We were looking for a company to develop our website properly. We had an online presence, but we weren’t happy with it. We wanted to take our website to a different level.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Codepaper provided web development services. The process started with a couple of phone calls where we explained the business, made them understand what we do, and gave them documents, pictures, and more. Then, we started working on the content together. As an unusual business, Codepaper was able to understand our target market and provide us with the kind of customization we needed to reach it.

We had a project manager and communicated directly with two teammates. Additionally, the project manager dealt with two other people.            

How did you come to work with Codepaper?

I found them on Google. At the same time, I heard from other businesses that they had worked with and recommended them. What made us feel that they were the best choice for us was that we immediately felt that Codepaper cared. They asked questions and tried to understand our goals and target audience. Codepaper didn’t just make a proposal and ask for money; they had a discovery phase beyond any other company we had worked with before.

We spent about $10,000.

What is the status of this engagement? 

We started working with them in September 2022 and finished with the website in February 2023.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re currently looking for someone to help us measure results. We had a project manager for this project. Unfortunately, they quit recently.

How did Codepaper perform from a project management standpoint?

They delivered everything on budget and offered a great deal. Moreover, we got what we wanted; we had a good, responsive team. We had video calls every 10 days to discuss issues, ask for feedback, and get updates. They were also great at following up, which was very important for us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were excellent listeners. Codepaper asked technical questions in a basic language and didn’t make things sound complicated. Also, they didn’t give scripted answers. If something was unclear, they rephrased the question to make it more understandable for everyone.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could get more people to join their team; they have the potential to go bigger.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

For any service you hire, it’s better to talk about what you want to achieve. Sometimes an idea might be clear to you, but not to someone else. The more good questions you have, the more good questions you’ll get, which will help make the picture clear for both sides.

Codepaper helps us with our social media marketing efforts. Specifically, they work on our Google Ads campaign. Apart from that, they’ve also built our website from scratch and currently provide hosting services.

Codepaper is great at lead generation. With their help, we get about 40 leads per month. We’re converting those leads into business.

They’re punctual and deliver quality work. Moreover, their resources are excellent in communicating with us; they’re highly responsive. For tools, we use Google Meet and phone calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re reliable and trustworthy; they also deliver work on time.

No, there aren’t any. They’ve met all of my expectations, and everything is going smoothly.

I’m a project manager at our company. We build software and provide it to merchants, and we support them by doing their business online.

We hired Codepaper for their custom software development services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Codepaper is helping us develop a booking engine system for hotels. They use PHP and Laravel to build the backend and JavaScript for the frontend.  Moreover, they're maintaining the website as we continue to add more features. They are using AWS to host the site. 

Users can create their accounts on the site by putting in their information and address. Based on that, we filter out nearby hotels on our platform so that they can view their rooms and booking status. They can also see the hotel features by clicking on that particular hotel.

What is the team composition?

Our main point of contact is their project manager, and there are six people working behind the scenes.

How did you come to work with Codepaper?

Codepaper was referred to us by a friend. We contacted them and discussed our project with their project manager. They were already familiar with the kind of technology we were using because they had done a few similar projects before. Hence, we decided to hire them.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we have spent close to CAD $100,000. (approximately $73,000 USD).

What is the status of the engagement?

Our partnership began in July 2022, and it’s still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re manually testing the system, starting with its simple features. We don't have any other integrated software to determine the correctness of the system. We’ve also been checking the code structures, logic, and implementation of the code and the features on the end user side, and it's all pretty smooth — there are no errors so far. 

We feel like it's going to be a great product once we finish it. If all this goes well, we might have more projects with Codepaper.

How did Codepaper perform from a project management standpoint?

We have biweekly meetings with their project manager to discuss all the ongoing tasks within the team; the meetings are resourceful and productive. Also, they always deliver on time.

We use Slack for communication. We use ClickUp on our side to manage the project, and they use Jira on their end to manage in-house tasks.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication is great, and the programming pattern that their developers use is nice.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have any points for improvement at the moment. Codepaper is doing a good job, and they should just keep doing what they’re doing.

Any advice for potential customers?

Organize weekly meetings with the project manager, keep in touch with their team, and always review the code that they write to make the project stable.

I’m the tech lead at a production trailer company; we rent and sell mobile trailers and trucks.

What challenge were you trying to address with Codepaper?

We brought on Codepaper to design and develop software for us.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve been working with Codepaper on four projects and plan to do several more with them. Each project has been done from scratch and follows the requirements I’ve laid out. I’ve only provided a basic structure for Codepaper’s team to follow. My team does the R&D for each deliverable Codepaper handles. 

So far, they’ve helped us design and develop our website, which they also maintain and host. They’ve also developed rental and inventory software. The rental software has been a massive project because it has booking functions, which include rental paperwork and payments. 

Codepaper has also integrated some functionalities we used to use in Kotlin into the inventory software. Their team has integrated Samsara into our system to track the location of our trucks and trailers; it also gives us the fuel levels of each truck. The inventory software will now show us the status of a project, the materials used, the hours spent on it, and the labor costs.

I’m in contact with over six teammates. They have two teams, one in India and one in Canada, with whom I’m in touch.

I was referred to them by a friend. I gave them the chance to develop a website prototype; I liked the prototype, so I hired them.

I don’t have a specific figure, but we’ve invested several hundred thousand dollars with Codepaper.

My company’s ongoing engagement began in November 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Before we had Codepaper start developing custom software, we handled all the paperwork via email. While the software is still under development, users are currently able to complete their bookings entirely online. We also no longer have to conduct calls with potential renters. 

We used to have 6–7 teammates covering the work the new software handles. I used to spend entire days handling calls and paperwork, but now it only takes a few hours of my day. We save a lot of time; we can now manage around 1,200 vehicles. 

How did Codepaper perform from a project management standpoint?

We use ClickUp to manage projects. The Indian and Canadian teams allow us to have 24-hour coverage; we mostly communicate via Slack. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate the 24-hour service we get from Codepaper — I always get a response to my Slack messages within 5–10 minutes. If I find a software bug at 2 a.m., they’ll fix it immediately.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We have multiple members in our team, and it will be easier for us if they can implement one channel for developer's communication which they are working on right now.

You should give Codepaper a chance — I haven’t had a bad experience with them!

Project management is great. We haven’t had any issues; any of our concerns are addressed immediately. Also, they run on schedule. We’re the ones who have been delayed. Sometimes they have to push back, but they’re always on time. We communicate through our internal system.
