To be specific, these are the numbers we tracked within the first year: we saw a 70% faster hiring process and a 60% decrease in screening time. We also experienced a really impressive jump in our retention rate, going from 70% to 85%. On top of all that, we benefited from lower overall recruiting costs, which has been a huge advantage for us.

Work included the modernization of an existing enterprise application and two mobile applications. Ongoing feature enhancements, with release schedules that ranged from every two weeks at the beginning of the project to every quarter.

Comprehensive QA testing, UI/UX improvements, test automation, as well as an exploration into new and emerging technologies including ML and AI. We have made dozens of releases with this team, and have shipped thousands of features.

• Features shipped per release, versions released per quarter/year, progressive reduction in bugs per release, increased system performance, increased system resilience.

We have a very close working relationship. We manage them as a part of our team, integrated into our process. The PM works closely with our team, and we communicate through regular meetings and other channels to ensure project deliverables and objectives are met.

Delivery is always within the acceptable margin, and they are always responsive to our needs. I highly recommend playing a very active role in this type of relationship; it is the responsibility of the product owner (i.e. the Company) to manage the project and ensure successful outcomes.

Their investment in our success, their commitment to the team and to the project, and their incredible aptitude for learning your business to support the delivery of high-quality work

CodeIT supplied us with one development resource to build our web application. I interviewed various resources before moving forward with the developer we chose. The CodeIT developer built the frontend of our web app using React.js, Node.js, CSS, and HTML. We also collaborated on testing features.

We worked with a commercial representative, who was our main point of contact, and a developer.

CodeIT initially contacted me on LinkedIn. Their professionalism and directness stood out to me, but we didn’t have the budget to partner with them. We kept in touch with them, and they visited our offices, so we reached out when we needed additional support for the web application project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

CodeIT provided us with a technically skilled developer with a solid understanding of our technology stack. They executed clean, pixel-perfect work, and we didn’t experience any major bugs. Furthermore, they fixed minor bugs quickly. 

How did CodeIT perform from a project management standpoint?

The CodeIT team was nice and took a proactive approach to the project. They asked questions, worked hard to meet deadlines, and implemented our feedback promptly. Additionally, they communicated regularly and effectively in English. We used a Trello board to manage tasks and share details regarding requirements. We also communicated via Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was most impressed by their communication skills and honesty. The CodeIT team was trustworthy, enabling us to build a strong working relationship. I also appreciated their company culture because it felt like they were genuinely invested in our success rather than in making money.

They could improve by having more talent on hand so they could supply resources more quickly.

I am a Software Engineer at a small company in Switzerland.

For what projects/services did your company hire CodeIT, and what were your goals?

We wanted to develop a Mobile Application to inform the population of cities in Switzerland about the dates and times of the next waste collections. The city's administration office should be able to schedule the waste collections in a backend web application and the population should than get push notifications when the next collection comes closer.

CodeIT has a good reputation and a partner of my company already had contact with the management.

We had an idea in mind and CodeIT was able to build it. The employees at CodeIT understood very fast what we want. The App should work on Android and iOS smartphones. The App should also support push notifications on both platforms.

A Project Manager was the relay to our side and she did a very good job. Behind her she had a team of developers and operators that worked on the project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The app was built within a few months time. We were more than happy with the look and feel of the app. More than 500 people downloaded the app so far and we have 5 cities that use the app for their waste collection service.

The project manager was very easy to communicate with through Skype. She was reachable almost all the time and came up with a solution.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have their specialists in every area. The developers did a great job ceating the app and the backend web application. The operators helped me to lower the costs of the cloud server hosting by suggesting another provider. The communication with the project manager was very lean and easy.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Because we are a rather small project especially for the next releases and bug fixes of the app, it took some time until the ressources could be allocated to our project. The billing process could be a bit more timely. There where still unreported hours from 2019 in 2021. At least at the end of the year I would expect them to write an invoice no matther how high the amount.

We built a very robust technology which is being implemented by some of the largest companies in the world. We are very happy with the product and are continuing to use CODEIT!

This was perhaps one of the most critical elements of the success of our partnership. The communication between teams was fantastic. Don’t get me wrong, it takes work and organization but if you can run a process and have good leadership on your team, working with these guys will be very effective and productive.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their work ethic and desire to deliver a good product. They are hard working, talented and honest which are the most important attributes for me.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is nothing that I would state here as we are always working in unison pushing each other to be better. The leadership is constantly pushing to be better and asking how they can be better. They are pretty solid and to top it off they are very hospitable if you ever travel to their offices. Alex K., one of the owners, makes an incredible coffee.

Dinku is a tech-driven e-commerce company. We’re a B2C business, and we use an algorithm that makes prices change as part of our model. I’m the founder and CEO of the company.

What challenge were you trying to address with CodeIT?

We provide a new way to online shop. We needed a partner that could develop the kind of algorithm we wanted to create for the site.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

I gave the CodeIT’s business developer and project manager a layout of what I wanted to do. They used that to form the basis of an SRS. They broke down everything I wanted to achieve into modules, and I went through each one, making comments and approving the items.

I don’t remember what technologies they used to develop the site. I believe we started with the Zend Framework, but they identified a more advanced technology and migrated to it.

What is the team composition?

There were 4–5 people involved. Daria (Business Development Executive, CodeIT) was the consistent point of contact throughout the life of the project. Even when she wasn’t the direct project manager, she played the role of relationship manager.

How did you come to work with CodeIT?

It was a referral from a personal friend. It was important for us to find someone who understood what we were trying to do and would be able to give us insights into the development of the site beyond what we asked for. It’s one thing to ask someone for A, B, C, and D, but we also wanted our partner to consider E, F, and G. That was the level of expertise we wanted, and that’s what drew us to CodeIT.

How much have you invested with them?

The total was around $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from 2014­–2019.  We discontinued the service because of fiscal policies in Nigeria and because our needs decreased. It made more sense to get local support instead.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The initial feedback was that the site looked pretty good. The presentation, images, and outline structure were crisp and clear. The algorithm and site design were also well-received. We received many compliments from new users. It’s been a positive experience, and I have no negative feedback in terms of design or functionality.

How did CodeIT perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicated via email because I’d rather write, read, and have the messages stored, than talk over phone calls. This way, we could refer to project guidelines and confirm what was agreed upon. Although, we also used Skype.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were quite flexible in working around some of the issues we had, whether those were technical or commercial. There were instances where we weren’t sure they could do what I was asking for within our budget. Rather than just telling me that it didn’t fall within the scope of their competence, they made suggestions that addressed the concern. They made suggestions that made the cost manageable. They had a human touch to providing the service.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. I’m a huge fan of CodeIT. If they worked for me for free, it would be nice, but there’s nothing other than that. I have absolute admiration for their team.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

One of the standout pieces of advice I’d give is for the client to have a clear idea of what they want to do. That will allow them to have a clear map of the overall product. That way, they don’t have to go back and give new instructions, causing the project to cost more than it ordinarily would have. CodeIT will try to meet the client’s request as they make it, so not having a clear idea of what needs to be done will lead to gray areas. By the time they go back, they may need to rework some of the things that were requested, and all of that will increase the cost.
