I’m the founder of a design studio focused on experimental web and product design.

What challenge were you trying to address with Code Studio?

We needed web development services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Code Studio supports our web development team, acting as part of it. We mostly collaborate on web app development projects, using technologies like React, JavaScript, GSAP, and WebGL. They’ve also helped us develop CMS integrations into these apps. So far, we’ve worked with them on four different projects, and we keep sending them projects to work on.

For every project, we go over the development requirements together. However, my internal team takes care of the design aspect and everything else non-related to development, and we hand those assets off to their team.

What is the team composition?

Hadi (Founder & CEO) is my main point of contact, and we’ve worked with about 4–5 different developers. Code Studio is in charge of assigning the resources that better fit the project at hand, and they add those resources to our Slack channel.

How did you come to work with Code Studio?

I don’t remember exactly how I found Code Studio, but I stumbled across their site and reached out to them because I needed some custom Webflow development work. We had some interactions and talked about GSAP, which I wasn’t familiar with. Then, we had a consultation call to see how we would work together, and we ultimately hired them.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $50,000–$200,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in August 2021, and our engagement is ongoing. We have them on a retainer because we like their work a lot and enjoy working with them.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Code Studio’s work has been immaculate on every project, which is great. Our last project was so good that we applied for an award from Awwwards, a web development and design competition body.

How did Code Studio perform from a project management standpoint?

Code Studio is very aligned with my expectations based on my previous experiences. Hadi is very available and responsive, always coming back to us in no more than two days, that being over the weekend. Regarding budget management, I always expect a 25% variation range in every project’s budget, and they’ve never exceeded that range.

We have meetings twice per week to go through the project’s breakdown. We also use ClickUp to manage the project, and we communicate over Slack. I’m in charge of the project management from a macro perspective, so I hand the requirements off to Code Studio’s team. Hadi divides those requirements into separate tasks for his developers to work on.

Additionally, we do weekly check-ins to see where we are at and what we need to adjust. During our iterations, we take notes, and we send them over to their team to make the adjustments needed. We keep iterating until completing the project.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Code Studio’s willingness to find solutions to challenges that other developers would say they’re not possible to overcome is impressive. For example, when we send them a design, they might say that it would take a week to develop that feature. However, if we have a budget for 15–20 hours, they go above and beyond to find ways to complete the task within that time cap.

Additionally, they’re very nimble and client-oriented. Although English isn’t their first language, clients couldn’t tell. Hadi comes to all of our calls and takes care of the technical aspect for us, which we really appreciate. I would give them the highest score for their service; we really enjoy working with them, and they’re one of my favorite partners.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Code Studio has as much passion for producing products as their customers do, so trust their process and advice. For example, if they say that something is very expensive to do, they say it from their experience and not because they don’t want to do it.

We were looking for a trusted partner who could help implement our landing page designs into Webflow, create the necessary animations, and create a wonderful experience for prospective customers.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched through hundreds of candidates and landed on Code Studio due to their strong understanding of Webflow, software experience, and thousands of landing pages they've created.

We have several Figma mockups, fonts, design assets, and a vision for what the site would look like. We needed all of these pieces implemented in Webflow with easy opportunities to modify, add, and move around pieces w/o redoing all of the work. We also needed this in a short amount of time.

We worked with one web dev, Hamza, in particular with support from the rest of the team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to deploy 2 successful versions of the website in under 2 weeks.

Hamza is very responsive and often communicates deadlines and availabilities proactively within 24 hours. He also provides strong advice on how we could improve our design processes before it hits Webflow re: cost, ease of implementation, and scalability.

I was impressed with how responsive and experienced they were to our changing needs.

None at the moment.

We hired the Code Studio for one of our client projects on Webflow. Since we didn't have a dev team that specializes on Webflow and has done high quality work before, then Code Studio was a great match.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We looked for a developer who has done complicated and challenging projects before. Not using just a standard website template, but actually had the knowledge and capability to work alongside with the team and designer and work out the best solution possible for the client. We also wanted to have a company that is also able to respond and communicate in a timely manner. Code Studio met all the requirements and were the best solution for our problem.

The project scope was to update and change the current client website as per the new brief. Integrate with another platform, set-up a landing page for a launch campaign. We worked with a designer who provided the Figma files for Code Studio, which enabled the team to work on the project. The difficulty came from the client who changed and updated some of the elements during the development process, prolonging the initial development timeline significantly. However, Code Studio team was great in adapting and incorporating the changes in the process.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Code Studio were great at working and adapting the ongoing requested changes and delivered on extended timeline, while pushing to get the last changes done right on time for the client to launch their marketing campaign.

We used Clickup for communication, outlining the open tasks and the progress of the tickets.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The Code Studio team was very professional and knowledgeable, offering solutions or better alternatives to problems. Their deep knowledge of the Webflow resulted in high quality website development.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We didn't have any negative experience, rather than that we cannot wait to work with the Code Studio again!

We had several projects and challenges together with Code Studio.

1. New brand launch We were launching a new brand. Based on Figma files created by our design agency we were looking for a partner who would be highly skilled in order to convert the desired design into a Webflow environment. Moreover, it was our goal to create a highly scalable setup with easy to create landing pages for our marketing and GTM team
2. Custom development In order to bring new products to market fast, we were looking for a partner who could support us with a vast variety of projects from development perspective to create custom reporting setups over beta APIs to quick frontend development based on wire-framed ideas

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected over 30 different providers for this project over a freelance platform. Code Studio matched all initial criteria around budget, needed experience and impressed us with their former work. After meeting 5 of the selected providers in a shortlist round, we decided for Code Studio primarily for their on spot expertise, openness in offering very practical solutions in the call and given realistic timelines and perspectives on what we wanted to achieve.

1. New brand launch The project itself was very straight forward. Move a Figma design to Webflow. However, since this has been our first Webflow project and installation, Code Studio helped us significantly to shorten our learning curve and offered a scalable setup to deliver what we wanted to achieve.
2. Custom Development For different custom development projects we used Google BigQuery, Google Data Studio, Python and other technologies we didn't contract Code Studio with our initial project. They've shown that their team is able to solve complex requests and think with us to build things from idea to MVP to working product

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

All deliverables were met on time and on the best possible outcome. Code Studio went out of their own way more than once to help us achieve a product launch, section rebuild or meet an ambitious timeline.

We are working over a central ticket management solution with Code Studio. We would align in a regular cadence on new needs, describe & discuss scope and agree on timelines. Communication from there goes mainly over ticketing in fast iterations. If challenges to formerly defined solutions arise we are using checkin moments to re-align and discuss in a virtual meeting.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their approach to not deliver a task, but think with us on how to resolve a challenge, pragmatically with high quality outcome.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Their work is high quality, because Code Studio's communication is. If we had bugs or misalignment we were able to resolve quickly through great communication.

I work in an IT company that provides IT services. I hold the position of a staff software engineer.

We were working on a landing page project that we needed extra help with.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We came across Code Studio on Upwork and decided to hire them as they have years of experience in web development, and had the suitable skillsets needed for the project.

Code Studio helped us to develop a front-end website with 5-6 pages. The requirements often consist of components and pages development within the website, using a Vue.js framework, Nuxt.js as well as TailwindCSS. There were also web animations involved, in which Code Studio used Greensock GSAP.

A senior front-end engineer and another front-end engineer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

After launching our website, we received good feedback about the animations and overall UI that Code Studio developed for us.

We have daily stand-ups to brief Code Studio on the requirements. We also use a Telegram group to carry out any offline communications required. We use Trello for our project management tool.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are open to feedback and quick to improve based on our inputs. They are also flexible to changes.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

During the first few weeks, we gave feedback that Code Studio could be more detailed in following our design as they translate it to the website. After receiving the feedback, the engineers adjusted to it and we could see visible improvements from then on.

We wanted a vendor that was easy to work with and who could get the job done.

We had a kickoff meeting to establish our working process and walk through the designs. We also had a few touch-point meetings for updates and to clarify any issues. Codestudio delivered the newly developed pages, we tested and gave feedback work and worked together to create the final website.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The new website has been launched and we've received a lot of feedback about it's improved usabiltiy.

In addition to update meetings, we emailed, whatsapped and used clickup to track progress.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were easy to work with, delivered a great end-product and remained helpful even after the end of the contract.

There were initially some minor bugs but they were dealth with quickly.
