Code Magic is currently designing and developing the full technology platform for UpToCode, an AI-powered construction tech solution focused on accurately reading and analysing construction and architectural drawings. They have also designed and built the UpToCode branding guideline and website ensuring a seamless connection between the brand, product, and user experience.

Their scope includes ongoing research and development of the core plan-reading technology, enabling drawings to be uploaded, processed, and interpreted digitally. They are building both the front-end and back-end infrastructure, as well as a chat-based interface that allows users to ask questions about their plans and receive intelligent, plan-specific insights. Code Magic is also managing the development team, overseeing the technical architecture, and supporting integrations with other construction technology platforms and partners.

KeyDeliverables include the below:
1. The UpToCode marketing website and platform website.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Code Magic has helped us move from concept to a live, functional platform with a fully developed brand, website, and working product. We are now in the testing phase of our first release, with the ability to upload and analyse real architectural drawings and interact with them through the platform, which has been a huge milestone for us. At the same time, they are continuing research and development on the next phase of the technology, improving accuracy and expanding the platform’s capabilities. They are also supporting us in presenting the product to potential partners and investors by refining the platform, preparing demos, and ensuring we have a strong, reliable product to showcase. This has played a key role in accelerating our growth and positioning UpToCode as a credible construction technology solution.

Code Magic’s project management has been excellent. They consistently deliver key milestones on time and communicate clearly throughout the process, which has been critical given the evolving nature of our product. They are transparent, proactive, and always keep us informed on progress, testing, and next steps.

The option of having a dedicated in-house team member has been a game changer for us. They integrate seamlessly into our workflow and adapt to the messy, fast-moving nature of a startup. This has made collaboration incredibly efficient, as they understand our priorities, respond quickly to feedback, and feel like a true extension of our internal team rather than an external agency.

Their in-house team model has also been incredibly unique and valuable. Having someone fully embedded in our team, who moves at our pace and adapts to the constant changes of a startup, has made a huge difference. They genuinely feel like a co-founding technology partner, not just a service provider. I would highly recommend them to any startup building complex technology, mainly due to their flexible and transparent model, which makes high-quality development accessible to both large companies and smaller early-stage startups alike.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Code Magic could have done differently?

As with any highly technical and R&D-heavy product, some features have taken longer than initially anticipated, but this has largely been due to the complexity of what we’re building rather than their execution. Code Magic has been transparent throughout the process and proactive in communicating timelines and challenges.

As the workload increased, they were proactive in identifying the need for additional support and recommended bringing on another dedicated team member. This made a huge difference to our integration process and overall speed, and it showed that they were thinking ahead and prioritising the success of the product.

So far, there isn’t anything I would say they could have done differently. They’ve been responsive, transparent, and genuinely invested in helping us build UpToCode the right way.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We tracked improvements using system analytics, call data, and feedback loops. User experience was measured by monitoring call abandonment rates, average call duration, interruption frequency, and first-call resolution rates. We also used post-call tagging, internal reviews, and simple feedback prompts, all showing consistent improvement. 
Operational load was measured by reductions in human agent handoffs, repeat calls, and manual follow-ups, as well as increased call volume handled per hour and agent time saved. System stability and error rates were also monitored to ensure increased automation did not introduce operational risk. Overall, we saw faster responses, higher automation accuracy, smoother real-time conversations, better user experience, and lower operational load.
