I’m a department coordinator and director at a financial services company in the music industry. In my position, I oversee our Salesforce environment and any integrations with Salesforce.

What challenge were you trying to address with Cloudprism Solution Pvt Ltd?

We needed help with building a customer portal. Salesforce offers an out-of-the-box portal, but clients are required to do all the development work behind it so that it works how they want it to work. Thus, we hired Cloudprism to help us out.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cloudprism developed our Salesforce customer portal from scratch and worked on writing custom code to get Exactuals PaymentHub linked to our portal. Initially, we met with them and told them what we wanted this portal to do, after which they started developing it.

Part of the challenge was that PaymentHub’s portal lacked a lot of the documentation we needed. Some parts of it weren’t built as API endpoints (as they were supposed to be), so Cloudprism spent a lot of time working with those developers to create the API endpoints we needed so that our main customer portal worked as we wanted. Although we were focusing on the development and functionality of our portal, Cloudprism also put a little design work into the solution.

After delivering the portal, Cloudprism provided us with support as we were onboarding users into the portal. We were concerned that there could be issues and wanted to ensure that our customers’ information was set up correctly. Thus, Cloudprism remained available to answer any questions or look into the issues we could find.

What is the team composition?

I mostly worked with Prateek (Founder), who acted as the team lead, and two other developers. Additionally, I talked with their accounting people for invoicing and billing purposes.

How did you come to work with Cloudprism Solution Pvt Ltd?

We found them on Upwork. We had posted a job offer on that platform, and some developers applied, including Prateek. We interviewed those developers and felt that Prateek was the most capable of doing the job.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from around August–November 2021 on developing the portal. Originally, Cloudprism’s scope only included developing the portal — it was supposed to be a short-term project. However, they’ve been helping us with other projects since then. Additionally, they now provide me with overall Salesforce support. I’m the only Salesforce administrator within the company, so I pass off Salesforce-related work to Prateek and his team as needed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Prior to this engagement, we didn’t have a customer portal. When we rolled out the one we now have, we did it with around 800 customers, and we faced no issues with their individual accounts. We’re still surprised by how smoothly the launch went — everyone was able to log into the portal.

In fact, we had originally mapped out weeks of a rollout process. We were concerned that there would be issues and all kinds of errors, so we were doing the rollout in batches of 50–100 customers. As everything went well, we were able to complete the rollout a whole month earlier than expected.

How did Cloudprism Solution Pvt Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

This was my first time working with an external service provider, and I had no issues whatsoever. Throughout the project, I met weekly with Prateek. Occasionally, the other developers would join our calls to explain things directly to me as needed. As for collaboration tools, we used WhatsApp, email, and RingCentral for communication, as well as Jira, Asana, and a video reviewing tool.

Moreover, Cloudprism was very helpful and responsive. I could even go to them with a half-finished idea, and they helped me complete the idea of what we could do to achieve what I wanted. Then, they came back within a very short timeframe with something for me to test out.

To this day, Cloudprism still helps me with various things. For example, when we started working with our new parent company, a new set of developers joined. Thus, they helped me devise a change management plan to keep track of changes and updates. Additionally, Salesforce launched a new UI, and my company was struggling to switch over to the new UI. Thus, Cloudprism reached out to us and helped us move over to the new UI because they thought it would be better for our company.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Cloudprism’s responsiveness was outstanding. This skill of theirs has been especially important now that we’ve been working on other projects with a different development team. I truly appreciate the fact that I can send Cloudprism an email and get a response quickly.

In addition to that, Cloudprism was very good at understanding how our system works. We have a very custom system because our business is unique. When working with other developers in the past, I spent a lot of time explaining our custom processes. However, Prateek and his team not only understood how those processes worked very quickly, they remembered how they worked for future reference.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There’s nothing Cloudprism could have improved on. Since we first started working together, they’ve improved a lot.

Don’t underestimate Cloudprism’s ability to understand your needs. Their team is able to provide suggestions and improve your ideas on how to do certain things.

We originally reached out to Cloudprism for help with developing our new customer portal and payment platform. We needed quick help with coding that was outside of my own scope and working with the new platform that was lacking functionality we needed for best usage for our customers.

We posted the project on a site and Prateek and team were the best prepared and had a true understanding of the scope of the project and what we needed. Our internal team also found him extremely easy to speak to and always reachable.

Prateek and team already knew the customer platform we were working with and helped us develop a plan to integrate with our new payment platform. When we ran into the issue of not being able to display in an iframe the team produced a solution that would direct our customers to the payment platform seamlessly. Prateek then worked with the developers from the payment platform to further build out some items we needed to make the user experience as simple as possible.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We were able to roll out our new portal on schedule with no issues. Customers were able to log in successfully to both portal and payment portal that day with no problems and we were able to increase our roll out groups to shorten the overall onboard process by weeks.

Working with this team has been an extremely pleasant experience. I am able to walk through an issue with Prateek and he can then provide solution ideas that fit our companies needs, no out of box solutions that would change our daily processes too greatly. Communication is top tier with Prateek, he always responds to emails and messages within hours and will reach out to me as needed.

We can keep a weekly meeting on the books where we go over all projects and estimated time remaining. We mainly communicate via Email and Whats app.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were a highly responsive and understanding team! I never have to worry about where things are, even if I've not asked about an update Prateek will remind me before we end a call.

I have seen improvements with the team already, but providing visuals for new products is very much appreciated, helps us with internal documentation as well.
