Introduce your business and what you do there.

We design software for the credit and collections industry. I’m one of the partners at the company, and I’m the brains behind the operation.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Cloudowl?

We found that a lot of organizations were struggling to match with the right third party to help them with their receivables. As a result, we wanted to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) to legally and easily assign their accounts for collection.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Cloudowl developed software that takes the guessing game out of what to do our external customers’ receivables and quickly identifies who would handle them. Furthermore, the team implemented an integration to allow the system to assign accounts with a click of a mouse as opposed to requiring downloads or exports.

They listened to our idea before developing the software’s front- and backend. They’re now leading our beta testing efforts, and their work focuses on coding and running tests to finish our product.

I’ve only dealt with Cloudowl’s owner.

How did you come to work with Cloudowl?

We designed a different software, and we went to several developers looking for the right partnership. Furthermore, we’d interviewed a number of organizations stretching across the UK, Australia, the US, and Canada. In the end, Cloudowl was referred to me by my business coach. We then had an initial conversation about whether our project was something that they’d be prepared to do.

We discussed my idea for almost four hours delving into the platform’s layout and functions. In the same evening, Cloudowl sent me a mind map to show me if I understood what my expectations were. After interviewing 5–6 development companies, we moved ahead fairly quickly with Cloudowl.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $25,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership started in March 2021, and we continue to collaborate.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The feedback on our beta testing efforts has been nothing but positive. Thanks to their support, we’ve managed to secure 50–60 end-users and all of them have been complimenting our software's user-friendly interface. They’ve also complimented how easy it is to navigate through our platform. 

On our side, we’re pleased that two types of external stakeholders would benefit from our software — the end-users that are lifting their accounts and third parties that are receiving the accounts. The third parties have also mentioned that they easily receive notifications and download the data they need in order to begin their work.

How did Cloudowl perform from a project management standpoint?

We have weekly calls with them for progress reports where they tell us what they’ve completed as well as their challenges. We mainly use Trello and Zoom to collaborate. Cloudowl gets everything done so our relationship has been absolutely phenomenal. Above all, their communication skills are second to none.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Since the start of our partnership, Benjamin (Founder & CEO) has been willing to understand why we’ve needed to build our software. He’s not a yes man like other companies I’ve talked to. It’s truly great that he's been able to show us a mind map before our project started.

Once we’ve kicked things off, Cloudowl has been able to quickly develop our software. They've gone above and beyond ways that I won’t be able to articulate. They’re also willing to help us whenever we need support; one time, CloudOwl have stepped in to support us when we had an individual landing page that was left by a vendor.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there’s nothing that they can improve. I haven’t had gripes, complaints, and frustrations in dealing with CloudOwl. Whenever I need them to do something such as changing spelling errors or other components, they’d update my requests within a couple of minutes. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Work with Cloudowl — just do it. I’ve recently referred their team to a person who’s looking to build a mobile app for his business.

I am founder of a HSE/HR saas software and consultancy.

For what projects/services did your company hire Cloudowl, and what were your goals?

Cloudowl was brought in to help as a fractional CTO for the original development team. Cloud owl help me navigate the tradition of the team, help me gain control of my IP and then helped it spring board into the future. They fixed the problems I had and spoke to me like a regular person and realistic outcomes.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

They did not promise me the moon and under deliver they spoke of the issues we were facing and came up with practical solutions.

Transitioned and oversaw the transition from one dev team to another then coached and mentored me until that contract was up they then helped me form my own team and project manager the next sprints of development Soni could get my product to market.
