I’m an owner of Charlottesville Tree Service, a professional tree care company serving Charlottesville and the surrounding area. I oversee our sales, marketing, and financial management.

What specific goals or objectives did you hire Click Makers, LLC to accomplish for Charlottesville Tree Service?

We originally hired Click Makers because I wanted someone who really understood Google Ads to make sure our campaigns were structured correctly, our tracking was useful, and we were making intelligent decisions with what we were spending. More broadly, I wanted a marketing partner who could help us think through what we were doing rather than simply manage an ad account.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Click Makers manages our Google Ads, Local Services Ads, and other paid digital advertising. Their involvement has also gone well beyond simply managing those channels. We regularly talk through tracking, messaging, lead generation, changes in the advertising landscape, and other marketing opportunities for the business. More recently, Alex and Jacob have also included us in testing some of the new tools and systems Click Makers has been developing.

What is the team composition?

Nicole managed our account for roughly the first nine months, although I also interacted regularly with Jacob during that period. Jacob subsequently took over the account and is now my primary point of contact.

How did you come to work with Click Makers, LLC?

I got to know Click Makers through a couple of marketing events, where I had several very good conversations with Alex. I liked the way he thought about marketing and business, and Click Makers also came highly recommended by marketing people I trust. Those conversations ultimately led us to hire them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in June 2025, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Some of the value is difficult to reduce to a single metric. The biggest thing for me is that I no longer have to spend significant time trying to understand what Google has changed, whether our campaigns are configured correctly, or what we should be reacting to. I can spend a couple of hours a month talking through our results and our business with Jacob and have confidence that the advertising side is being actively managed. That has saved me a substantial amount of time and gives me considerably more confidence in what we are doing.

A large part of the value for me is simply being able to hand off an area of the business that I do not have the time or desire to become an expert in, while still having enough visibility to understand what we are doing and why. They also think beyond the immediate scope of our advertising and routinely bring us ideas, experiments, and tools that they think could make the business better.

How did Click Makers, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

Very well. We have regular meetings, communication between meetings is easy, and they are responsive when something comes up. Over the course of the relationship I have worked with Nicole, Jacob, and Alex, and the handoff from Nicole to Jacob was seamless. I have never felt like I needed to manage them or chase them to make sure something was getting done.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What I appreciate most is that they are genuinely interested in helping our business succeed beyond the specific advertising channels we pay them to manage. Alex and Jacob are constantly experimenting with new ideas and building new tools, and they have used us as willing guinea pigs for a number of them over the last several months. If they are working on something they think could help us, they bring us into it. It feels much more like having smart marketing people in our corner than simply having an agency managing an ad account.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing significant comes to mind, unless they can figure out how to make every prospective customer want to hire us and care considerably less about price.

Lumaverse Technologies is a private equity-backed holdings company of 11 brands made up of software solutions for scheduling, registration, memberships, and fund-raising experiences. I am the director of performance marketing for Lumaverse.

Clickmakers was hired to help set up a paid advertising strategy with Google Ads across our multiple brands to grow the portfolio and set up reliable tracking since it was either outdated or set up incorrectly.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Clickmakers is a Google Ads Premier Partner with an excellent reputation for growing SaaS companies and has the technical expertise we needed for tracking sales and leads.

They were hired to revamp and optimize Google Ads campaigns that had no pre-existing strategy and increase our advertising footprint with Microsoft Ads as well for three of our brands under the Lumaverse Technologies umbrella. Key deliverables have been to increase plan purchases and drive more demo request lead volume.

Six total. Owner, project manager, copywriter, and three media buyers.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Google's new Performance Max feature has steadily improved as we've garnered more conversion data. We knew going in that optimizing for leads with Performance Max has been hit or miss for some advertisers, but for us it seems to be getting better all the time as Clickmakers continually tests audience signals. Secondly, driving branded search traffic to our pricing page for one of our brands has provided a huge uplift in our revenue since May.

We communicate daily on Slack and have a weekly performance call on Zoom.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have knowledge for tracking our campaigns accurately across our brands in light of some site complexities. I haven't encountered an agency before that knows not only advertising, but also has the technical skills to make sure the data coming in is accurate across our CRM, Google Analytics, and the ad platforms themselves.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I'd like to get more ideas of how we can effectively use Youtube Ads to drive more business.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Click Makers, LLC provided us with their SEO and PPC services and managed our data analytics. Before we got them onboard, they actually reverse-engineered our funnel and covered all our marketing efforts on Google, Facebook, and YouTube.

Apart from that, they produced a lot of our content and created marketing assets for publishing.

We invested somewhere between $40,000–$50,000.

We worked together from December 2021–May 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our revenue returns are almost impossible to identify because we have sale cycles of 10–50 days. Still, over the course of our engagement, they’ve probably generated about $15 million worth of opportunities for us — which I consider a positive in terms of ROI.

How did Click Makers, LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent from a project management perspective, as they were waiting on us more than we were waiting for them. Click Makers was very easy to work with thanks to their knowledge in the field.

We used Slack to communicate and did weekly Zoom calls for consultation and campaign updates.

One of the main reasons we hired them is because of their ability to sell extremely complicated products through paid advertising.

I can’t think of anything they need to improve on.
