Project management is great; they're always on time and quick at responding to any changes we request. Regarding tools and communication, we use Slack.

Chronos Agency has built up our email list from zero — we now have around 100,000 email subscribers. They were really good at setting the campaigns up and getting them going.  

How did Chronos Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is fantastic. They never miss a deadline — they’re usually ahead of schedule. They follow up with me if I’m ever late to ensure deadlines are met. 

Once a month, Chronos Agency’s team provides me with a full report, and we get on a call to discuss the next month’s content. They handle everything. Usually, we communicate through Slack.

It is a delight to work with Chronos Agency. Their expertise in email and SMS marketing, coupled with their creativity, communication, and project management skills, really sets them apart.

We are a mens hair styling and hair care company that delivers high quality products to enhance the every day life of the individual. Creating hairstyles that last and products that work for all hair types. I work in the digital marketing side helping out with the social media, emails and sms.

We wanted to drive more sales and growth on the email side. From strategy and planning to creating and scheduling of the emails.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were introduced by the CEO/founder reaching out to us. We got on a call to find out more about their services and the team involved that would be helping us out. The team was attentive and we were open to trying them out.

After a couple of meetings and onboarding the Chronos team was quick to develop templates and sample copywriting for our approval. Once the template was established they focused on strategy and planning emails weeks/months in advance. After approvals in the strategy phase they began creating the emails and sending them over for last rounds of feedback before scheduling the emails. Throughout the strategy they would also help with automations and segmentation.

They assigned an account manager to us as well as a graphics designer and copywriter.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our open and click rates have maintained and increased over the course of the project. Through careful filtering and segmentation we are now targeting an active segment with nearly 50% open rates and 1% click rates. Flows are still progressing, and we continue focusing on driving more revenue and growth.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The Chronos team is constantly working for our approval and sending us what we need in order to move the needle and progress. We now have an effective way to communicate through different channels to ensure that proper feedback and messaging is being funnelled towards the proper procedures.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The attentiveness, patience and constant turn-around time. The Chronos team is quick to address comments and changes within 24 hours and have always given advanced notice if otherwise. The expertise in terms of the ESP and understanding that companies like Google (gmail) and Apple have different technical hurdles that may have a big effect on email send is what is impressive. The knowledge of dedicated domain sending and ensuring that our emails are being delivered successful has been very unique.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Initially the feedback procedure was difficult to find a middle ground where feedback and implementation was effective. However after working with them we've now found a way that has improved.

Since we work mainly through Google Analytics for most of our metrics it would be helpful if they had some insight towards different attribution models and the potential discrepancies that come with that. Strategy planning and A/B testing could take bigger risks. We found that there sometimes is similar findings and no progression towards results. I think the content can take a stronger or different approach if after a couple of weeks there still is no change.

We hired Chronose agency for email marketing services specifically flow set up and weekly campaigns via Klaviyo. Our goals were to grow our subscribers, provide engaging content and increase revenue.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We selected them as one of our owners employs Chronos through other, similiar e-commerce brands. They had to be highly competent with Klaviyo and experienced in email marketing for e-commerce.

First, we had a kick off goal where I discussed the brand, what we'd done to date with emails and what we hoped to achieve. I provided Chronose with our brand guidelines and assets. They prepared a Master Plan for campaigns each month ahead, making use of key events/days that we could align our brand with. Chronos set up several flows per month, carefully segmenting based on visitor's behaviour on our Shopify site. Each month we had a Performance Review to review results and discuss upcoming plans.

We worked with an account manager, email marketing executive, as well as a team of graphic designers and copywriters.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The email campaigns that were tied to special events/dates (e.g. International Yoga Day) did particularly well, and the team has a strong knowledge of all our products.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We had a Zoom meeting monthly as well as a Slack channel to communicate nearly daily. They were always very responsive and notified be if a team member was going to be on leave.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

As they work across many e-commerce brands, they are excellent as designing emails. They frequently do A/B testing to constantly improve.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

1-2 emails were not sent on time but they apologised and rectified.

I’m the brand manager for Australian Furniture Warehouse. We’re a warehouse selling furniture at discounted prices. I oversee our e-commerce and digital marketing.

What challenge were you trying to address with Chronos Agency?

It’s always good to grow our revenue, so our main focus with Chronos Agency was building a customer journey that made sense for each customer.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Chronos Agency provides us with email marketing services. There are two components: first, we have automated emails triggered by different things. The second component is the campaigns, which are well-designed emails for our whole customer list. For example, they send subscriber and post-purchase emails, as well as emails requesting reviews. Also, if there’s an abandoned cart, a customer would receive an email reminding them to purchase the item.

The last email we sent was for a massage chair. We didn’t have the best product images, but they came up with a great design. We gave them all the assets, discount codes, and links, and the team built the email to perfection.

What is the team composition?

We mainly work with Ruth (Email Marketing Manager). She’s our account manager; we primarily communicate with her. Additionally, there’s a client success manager and a graphic designer, but we haven’t spoken much with them.

How did you come to work with Chronos Agency?

When I started working here, they were already working with the company, so I was just introduced to the agency to keep the relationship. However, I haven’t felt the need to change them. Finding another agency wouldn’t be a problem, but the communication is good, and they deliver good results.

We pay roughly $1,000 per month.

Our first campaign was in August 2020, and our relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We get several metrics from the reports and email marketing platform, but the main thing I need to report to my manager is revenue. Roughly 15% of our monthly revenue comes from email marketing and flows. 

For example, our last email performed quite well. The purpose was to promote a massage charge, but we actually received purchases for other products. The whole effort generated around $8,000 in revenue, which is an acceptable performance.

Additionally, I check click-through rate, open rate, and so on.

How did Chronos Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

Communication is pretty good; we use Slack, which is more interactive than sending emails back and forth. Also, they send reports and the designs in advance for our feedback and approval.

Additionally, we have monthly Zoom calls to catch up on the performance. Overall, it’s been pretty good, considering they’re scattered around the US, the Philippines, and other places. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re detail-oriented and structured in how they work. Even the names of the campaigns have a sequence, and everything is coded the right way. Also, their reports are comprehensive and professional, and all those things are excellent. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we haven’t had any issues with them. The general feedback we give them is spelling because we use Australian spelling. Sometimes we use a different landing page, link, or product, but that’s just us being picky.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be structured and have a clear purpose. You need to think through your goals and what tools you’ll provide. In general, the most efficient way to communicate with a marketing agency is to have a clear outline of what you want, the assets you have, and what you need from them.

Chronos have had a significant impact on our monthly revenues. Without sharing proprietary data, their results provide for a positive ROI when looking at revenues channels versus their costs.

Excellent, Chronos are exceptionally well process driven which keeps time overhead our side to an absolute minimum.

They truly get the ecom email space and are experts in their field. In particular I value the fact that their copywriters carefully research and develop their product knowledge and I've been surprised at how self sufficient they have bee in developing great sales angles.

No. Their service is great, and the team has exceeded and met our goals and expectations.

We found Chronos Agency at an ad conference, ECom World, where I heard a presentation the founder of Chronos Agency gave. We were initially referred to a few of Chronos Agency’s competitors, but I reached out to Chronos Agency requesting assistance on our marketing efforts. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We used to have very high bounce and unsubscribe rates on our emails, but it has lowered dramatically since working with Chronos Agency. Open rates increased from 30% to over 50%, and our conversion rates are 3%–8%. Our customer recovery flows are currently between 4%–5%; some campaigns have brought in over $100,000 within the last six months. One campaign brought in over $60,000 on just one email. 

How did Chronos Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

Chronos Agency is doing well regarding project management. It took a little while to align with them because this is the first time we’re working with an email marketing agency, but there is good communication. We’ve nailed down the best ways to approve emails for requisition requests — everything goes through an easy-to-read spreadsheet. 

We generally have monthly meetings to discuss the project’s progress and future plans. Outside of that, we communicate regularly over a shared Slack channel and email. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We found that Chronos Agency has excellent experience with e-commerce brands in the consumer goods space. That gives us a lot of confidence in their email strategy, which is great.

Along with that, they’re a great support team, very organized, and quick to respond to messages. The schedule they put in place is very easy to follow, and they’re incentivized to improve based on our KPIs. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

My company is based in Canada, and Chronos Agency is located worldwide, so the time difference was a bit difficult at times. It would be nice if there was a teammate in our time zone for the requests we needed rapid responses to. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Clients need to explain their brand voice and have rough drafts of email template examples prepared at the start of the engagement with Chronos Agency. That way, Chronos Agency can have brand information to build content from.

Also, it’s important to have a spreadsheet to process revisions and approvals. Communication is key — clients should have meetings at least once a month to ensure that all project requirements are understood and schedules are met.
