We looked for web designers on Freelancer. After reviewing and talking to several companies we chose Celeart because of their reviews, affordable price, nice website and professional communication.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

After a series of discovery meetings to discuss our goals, we received initial design ideas and website mockups. Once we chose a theme, they started creating the designs in Figma. We were able follow the progress and comment easily or answer any questions they had. The general website was implemented by Celeart in Wordpress.

The webapp designs were handed over to our own developers for implementation. We had the chance to questions things that were hard to implement, and they refined their designs accordingly.

In total, we worked with two people. A project manager/product designer and a graphic designer.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our developers were able to implement their designs easily. Our new website and branding has been well received both internally and by our users. We implementation of the webapp designs is ongoing. The "network" and "understanding biology" theme has made our website stand out.

The project manager was easy to work with and communicated very well. We had video calls with screen sharing in the early discovery stages and then regular communication in Slack through out the entire process. We used Figma to comment directly on designs.

We needed someone to help us with design.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve done 25 projects with them. We’ve created a pitch book with them for venture capital funds, as well as created the UX design for several platforms. We’ve also done UX design for the iOS and Android apps. They developed a brand book and several logos as well for our business.

Initially, we wanted to create something special for the venture capital pitches. We wrote all the text, and CelerArt created the design for the pitch book. It’s a pitch deck of nine slides, and they integrated all the design and came up with the pictures and everything to present the information.

We also approached them with other ideas. For example, we wanted to create a landing page and told them what the UX should be like. We gave them all the authority to provide the whole design. After they provided the design, we commented on it, and they made improvements until the product was perfect. Then, we deployed it.

We communicate only with the founder of the company. There’s a bigger team behind him.

How did you come to work with CelerArt?

We were working with a design company that we weren’t happy with and decided to look on freelancer.com. We’ve been working with them ever since.

The owner acts as our director and gets all the projects from us. We discuss it, and he delegates to his other colleagues. They’re always on point with deadlines. The communication is good as well; they’re always available. We communicate via Skype and Slack.

It’s difficult to find a company like CelerArt because they actually focus on design. Usually, outsourcing companies have designers in-house that go along with their development team package.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had one incident where a backup of the source file got lost after six months. They were willing to reimburse it or recreate the designs. The only improvement is that they store the source file in a safe place.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

You should set a budget upfront. Usually, designers can work on a per hour basis, or, you can set a fixed budget. I’d encourage every customer to set a fixed budget so they know how much they will be spending.

We are a full-stack creative studio covering brand identity and visual systems, UI and UX design, web design and web development (Webflow, React, Next.js, headless CMS, WordPress), motion design and explainer animation, 3D and product visualization, illustration, and creative direction. Most engagements combine several of these. A typical deep tech client might come to us for a brand refresh, a marketing site, a product UI overhaul, and a launch animation, all delivered by the same core team without handoffs to subcontractors. We also offer ongoing design and development support through monthly retainers, which is how most of our long-term clients work with us.

We work in two main ways. First, fixed-scope projects with clear deliverables and timelines, ideal for brand identity sprints, website redesigns, product launches, or one-off campaigns. Second, monthly retainers, which is how most of our long-term partners engage with us. A retainer gives you continuous access to a senior multidisciplinary team (designers, developers, motion artists, creative directors) at a predictable monthly rate, without the overhead of a full-time hire. You can scale the engagement up or down month to month, pause when needed, and shift focus between brand, web, product, and motion as priorities change. Retainers tend to deliver more value than ad hoc project work because the team builds deep context with your product, voice, audience, and codebase, which compounds over time.

Every project starts with a discovery phase where we dig into your business, audience, competitors, and technical product. From there we move into strategy and creative direction, where we align on positioning, voice, and visual territory before any pixels get pushed. Then comes design exploration in two or three rounds, followed by detailed design and the creation of a scalable design system. For web work, our developers join early, so what we design is what gets built, with no compromises during handoff. We launch, measure, and iterate. For retainer clients, this loop runs continuously, with weekly working sessions, a shared project board, and async updates so you always know what is shipping next. We do not believe in 80-page deliverables that nobody reads. Every artifact we produce has a clear job to do.

Our default mode is asynchronous: Slack and email, most clients invite us into their Slack workspace as guests, which makes day-to-day coordination feel like working with an in-house team across time zones. That said, our founders are fluent English speakers and enjoy a good working call, so when something is faster to talk through than to type, we are happy to jump on Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams. Reporting cadence is up to you. Retainer clients typically get a weekly written update plus a monthly review call. Project clients get end-of-milestone summaries and a final handover doc. We adjust to your rhythm, not the other way around.

Honestly, the first answer is: we ask you. Every engagement starts with us pinning down what success looks like in your terms, whether that is conversion lift on a marketing site, faster onboarding inside a product, more qualified inbound after a rebrand, investor confidence ahead of a raise, or simply a brand the founding team is proud to point at. Those numbers and qualitative goals become part of the brief, and we report against them. Our internal bar goes a step further. Shipping what was scoped is the floor, not the ceiling. Real success means we solved the underlying problem the brief pointed at, not just the surface request. A pretty redesign that ships on time but does not lift signups, sharpen brand perception, or make the product easier to use is not a win in our book. So we look at three layers on every project: did we deliver what was scoped on time and on budget, did we move the business or user metric behind the brief, and did the work measurably raise how the brand looks, reads, and feels in the market. Where we can get our hands on data (analytics, support tickets, sales feedback, user testing) we use it. Where we cannot, we trust the qualitative signals from your team and your customers. And the strongest long-term signal: most of our clients renew their retainers or come back for the next project. That is the metric we trust most.
