What challenge were you trying to address with Catapult Labs?

We needed someone to help develop our supply chain platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Catapult Labs developed our logistics and supply chain platform, moving us from a prototype to a more industrialized solution. The final platform connects various logistics providers within the supply chain and has graph databases.

What is the team composition?

We had six full-time employees working for us.

How did you come to work with Catapult Labs?

Our Estonia office had a good experience working with Catapult Labs and recommended them.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent millions of Swedish Krona (approximately $1 million USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June 2018–March 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Since this was a new product, we had to go through quite a few iterations. No one had tried something like this before, so we wanted to get it right. In the end, they built a functional platform.

How did Catapult Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

We worked in agile sprints, relying on daily standups and weekly planning meetings. We also used Slack for seamless communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their senior developers understood that we were in uncharted territory, so there was a bit of trial and error. Regardless, they stayed agile and committed, delivering on time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We sourced software developers who drove a lot of innovative ideas. They could probably work with us more on that front.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Discuss the roles that you want their CEO, account manager, and yourself to play so that you can fully utilize their capabilities.

I’m the CEO & co-founder of a renewable energy trading platform.

What challenge were you trying to address with Catapult Labs?

We needed some software development done.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We handle the architecture design; Catapult Labs is purely focused on development. We work collaboratively, using backgrounds in development and energy to develop the necessary software. Node.js, AWS, and blockchain are the major technologies we use.

What is the team composition?

The team varies in size depending on the required development effort. When we started the project, there were 50 people working with us, and now there are four. 

How did you come to work with Catapult Labs?

When we were introduced to Catapult Labs, we found a lot of the team has background in energy as well as development, so it was a good fit.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them around September 2017, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Catapult Labs is quite integrated into our team. Their work is high-quality, on time, and we enjoy working with them. 

How did Catapult Labs perform from a project management standpoint?

We use Jira, Slack, and Google Hangouts. Our teams communicate daily.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their development services are exceptional. The team has some very talented developers with good experience, always looking for tasks that allow them to evolve. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No.

They’re a good team to work with if you get the chance — they are very busy.
