For what projects/services did your company hire Carlon Productions, and what were your goals?

I hired Carlon Productions to video record and edit content for a virtual event and live stream. The event was for the Miami Herald.

How did you select Carlon Productions and what were the deciding factors?

I selected Carlon Productions because I had worked with the owner in the past and have nothing but praise for the quality of deliverables and work ethic/ positive attitude.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

The Miami Herald athletic awards is a yearly ceremony that honors Miami high school athletes for individual and team achievements. I contracted Carlon productions to video record, edit, create animated logos, transitional graphics, music editing and audio mix the 2:30 hour ceremony.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

We worked with our account manager Allan and he did a fantastic job of keeping the project on time and delivering in all edits needed by the Miami Heralds video editing team.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The content Carlon Productions created was approved and delivered on time for the live stream. The Miami Herald team was beyond thrilled with the outcome and became repeat customers of ours.

Easy to communicate with, patient, creative problem solving, excellent time management skills.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They took the time to really dig into the project and always answered the phone for emergency changes. They worked very well under pressure and delivered excellent customer service.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The only thing I wish would've been different, is if we had given them more time to produce the event. The event was live streamed and we only had a month to record and produce all the the content. Very high pressure to deliver in a short time frame. Carlon did a fantastic job.

I’m the owner, operator, and creative director of Brothers of the Lens, Inc., a video production and marketing company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Carlon Productions?

We needed a company that could provide us with post-production services for our projects.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve worked with Carlon Productions on four projects now. We've mostly worked together on commercials and various marketing and advertising content for businesses, and they primarily provide post-production services such as video and audio editing support.

The first time we worked together was for the awards show of one of the most prestigious events for high school students in South Florida. Carlon Productions helped us on the production side of the event — they put together a pre-taped show as well as a livestream for the event. They also helped us produce a series of interviews and flash documentaries, which were shown during the breaks of the shows, as well as process and clean up the audio for two podcasts for this client.

We also worked together on a 400-person event of one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in Miami. Carlon Productions took 15–20 headshots of the company’s main executive team, handled the photography for the event, and helped us deliver a 24-hour video of the event.

Our most recent project was for a virtual award show in the gaming space. Carlon Productions helped us produce five mini-documentaries on women and gaming. They were in charge of mixing and mastering the music and audio dialog and providing support for the graphics and subtitling for the show.

What is the team composition?

I primarily work and communicate with Allan (Creative Director) only, but he also brings someone else to sets as needed.

How did you come to work with Carlon Productions?

I’ve actually known Allan for four years now. We’ve worked in similar circles before, and when we opened up our own separate companies, he became my first choice for a lot of projects that are based here in South Florida.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent around $10,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The awards show that Carlon Productions helped us cover had the longest retention numbers in their channel’s history for this year’s event. We also did a testimonial with their staff at the end of the show, and they all gave us raving reviews for the event.

The pharmaceutical company that we worked with was also extremely happy with how Carlon Productions over-delivered on the photography for their event. As a matter of fact, they said that they’re going to give us a call back for next year when they have their next annual meeting.

How did Carlon Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

Carlon Productions has performed flawlessly in terms of project management — they’re organized, professional, timely, and always straight to the point.

We communicate through phone calls, emails, Google chat, and text messages.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m really impressed with the fact that Carlon Productions truly understands us. We have very similar processes, so they are able to understand what we need and what we’re going for very quickly without having to explain too much.

I also appreciate that the standard of quality of their work is up to par with us — we trust that whatever they give us would be exceptional and of high quality. We have no doubts about working with them because we trust that they’re going to get the job done and make our clients happy, and if my clients are happy, then I’m happy too.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to provide as much information as possible and ask as many questions as you need so that Carlon Productions can provide you with the best bang for your buck. They’re not the cheapest, but they can really find a way to maximize your investment if they know as much information about your project as possible.

What challenge were you trying to address with Carlon Productions?

I was trying to grow my business little by little so I could eventually own a bigger place. We needed some content and pictures to get our name out there, so we hired Carlon Productions to help us. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Carlon Productions initially gave us ideas and created a couple of pictures for us. Then, they created a video focused on the product. The team used animations to make the scenes more immersive. They also sampled a couple of tracks, asking me whether I thought they sounded too happy, sad, or serious for the video. I spent a lot of time deciding which music to put into the video since they gave me a lot of options. 

Moreover, they used their own equipment; I just provided the space where I wanted the video to be made. They had cameras, lights, props, and everything else; their resources simply asked me which props were needed and what I wanted to do with the lights. We tried a couple of approaches, and the team took over the production from there.

At present, I call Carlon Productions whenever I need any pictures or videos for my business. I ask them to work with me on anything related to my product’s content needs. They’ve made a couple of jingles for me, too.

I mainly work with Allan (Creative Director), who does all the work. 

How did you come to work with Carlon Productions?

I saw Carlon Productions through a couple of Instagram posts. As I was browsing the social media network, I saw Allan explaining how he made a video for a product — it was so simple. Then, I sent him a couple of pictures and told him about my business. He told me to leave my phone number, and we called each other after four days. That was the start of our engagement. 

How much have you invested with them?

I’ve invested between $14,000–$16,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2020, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The numbers we’ve had in terms of reach and engagement have been good. We’ve also been gaining more followers. For the videos, the first one has garnered around 1,915 reactions, while the second one has 1,325 reactions. The third one has 1,012. In other words, many people have seen the videos. 

How did Carlon Productions perform from a project management standpoint?

Carlon Productions works on my schedule. I tell them when I want to do things, and we coordinate all day. When Allan shows up, we focus on working, and it’s been super easy for me because he always responds and works quickly. To communicate, we mainly use texts and phone calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

The quality of Carlon Productions’ work distinguishes them from other providers. Everybody else just produces overexposed pictures, while Allan has depth perception and knows what backgrounds we need. On top of that, I don’t have to be behind the team all the time. They can completely take over any project, and I’m pleased with their work. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Allan can get some help. I know other people who’ve worked with him as well, so I know he’s always busy. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Before engaging with Carlon Production, have a clear idea of your desired outcomes. Speak with them before any session so that when they show up, they can focus on working.
