The flutter and java developers that have been on the project for few months have been great and very easy to work with. We were supposed to start on a 2 week trial but we kept working since November and we are in a long term engagement now. There was never a gap between the trial and now.

The team is very flexible which works well for us. We have a flat non hierarchical structure. What's impressive and unique is the managements flexibility. We can engage people on a full time or part time basis.

They are honest with the hours spent and transparent when there are issues to be resolved. In a nutshell "we don't have to look over our shoulders and we trust they will do the right thing" They earned that with their transparency and work ethic.

The app was the main deliverable. It had to have group creation and sharing features, support payment and mobile authentication platforms, and work on Android and iOS. We used Flutter and Amazon Transcribe.

Three. Rakesh is the owner and founder. I also worked with a Lead Developer and Developer.

The final product was up to my liking and requirements. The app however wasn't a success due to the wrong business model.

I would say we followed an Agile methodology. We were constantly in touch via WhatsApp or Slack. We also had frequent virtual meetings using Google Meet.

We ran into a major issue on the iOS platform causing us to redesign our app. This was quite late in the development cycle and was a learning moment for all. An initial PoC on both platforms should have been done earlier in the project.

The basis of work is trust, All the development was done by the team. The team was committed, even at late hours, insisted on fixing errors, they made any changes that were required on time and best quality. Team had lots of patience and creativity to find solutions. We agreed on terms for a first trial and I signed for a prototype development on a 6-weeks period. This first delivery was satisfactory and led me to pursue the partnership for another project.

We had several meetings to discuss the scope, expectations and deliverables. We needed a mobile application with Android and iOS versions. My company counts several engineers who would support Calidig along the developments.

We would provide all functional requirements and visuals, set all infrastructural basis and perform testings when technical milestones were achieved. Key deliverables for this project were the successive versions that we received for testing. A significant strength of Calidig: the company communicates a lot, on what works and what doesn't, on what they can do by themselves and what they can't. Consequently, you never feel lost on the project and can easily supervise it.

The founder and senior managers were my main contacts but I also had meetings with a designer and a senior developer. In the end, I shared information with 4 people working for Calidig.

Within 4 months, we were able to share the news with our stakeholders and make them try the first versions, make them connect their bank accounts, and understand our concept. Month by month, we observed that the app, its UX design, and algorithm returns were more relevant.

Calidig favors direct communication, phone calls, messages, and emails when needed. At least twice a week, I received news from the project and what would be the next milestones according to the retro planning that was agreed at project kick-off. Each time I had a request or a question, I received answers and feedbacks within hours when it was not within minutes, which was as impressive as reassuring.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

My contacts understood the project, really got into it. In months, we not only developed a business relationship, but it also grew on a human level: Calidig wanted us to succeed and we wanted the same for them.

In the end, we can see further than this simple project, we see a long-term partnership because we feel that we're not only considered as customers but as professionals with similar profiles and purposes, which leads to more pleasant meetings and fewer hurdles to overstep.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

My project is quite complex and needed several clarifications all along with the development. If there's something that could have been improved, it would be the retro planning and the estimation of potential delays. It's comprehensible when you drive a project that has impacts in different countries, but the first targets were too optimistic for a project of that size. When all misunderstanding was raised with a successive meeting, the delivery of testing versions was way more efficient.

This has proved challenging - and a task which Calidig have been in invaluable in helping solve.

Having nearly completed this app and multiple other previous app / web projects - we can confirm that the product has generally been to a high standard. Where bugs or other minor typical initial launch issues have been discovered, the team has resolved any issues with urgency.

Most importantly - they will kick back where they see issues with proposals and provide opinion. This is something that not all teams do, leaving the client to discover problems in their own delivery after the development has been completed.

We communicate often daily over video calls and through a Slack group. All members of the team are fluent in our native language English and are generally very responsive to queries - even at weekends. They routinely meet deadlines and provide great visibility of delays where they occur which is sometimes an inevitability with development projects.

They deliver a good product at a good price in good time. They are dependable and competent at what they do and have excellent communication skills.
