“Holter Do Domu”/ “Holter for Home” is a company dealing with remote telemedic diagnostics in the field of cardiology. We perform a standard ECG Holter test, but send the diagnostic device to the patient by courier. As a result, patients perform the test without ever leaving home. Until now, in order to perform this test, it was necessary for the patient (very often an elderly person) to be physically present at the clinic several times (first visit with appointment with doctor, than visit in order to put the device on, another one for put the device off, and yet another for personally picking up the result). We also perform Holter testing for business partners (outsourcing). My position in Holter do Domu is an owner.

“Holter Do Domu”/ “Holter for Home” was in need of a telemedicine platform for communication with the patient. The goal was to create a platform to easily send results to the recipients. In addition, the platform was to be used for communication with business partners - sending them medical data and results. The third goal was to monitor the logistics of sent and returned parcels. It is quite a challenge because there are a lot of devices and shipping options. The problem was complicated by Polish legislation and personal data protection regulations, which imposed specific solutions.

I chose Brival because at the early stage of our first conversation they carefully listened and perfectly identified my needs. I felt that they had recognized the problem well. The project manager described very clearly what the individual stages of work would look like and planned the process methodically.

The commissioned work included: 1. Implementing a telemedicine platform for handling contact with the client. 2. Enabling the process of sending examination results through several channels. 3. Setting up a channel of communication with business partners. 4. Organizing the logistics of parcel movement.

I was in contact with one person (PM / Business Analyst), although more people were working on my project.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I assess the results as very satisfactory, all initial requirements have been met. In addition, a lot of additional issues arose during the work, which were quickly resolved thanks to very good communication with Brival.

In my opinion this is a methodical and very analytical management style. I observed very good planning in the beginning and flawless punctuality. We were communicating by e-mail, telephone and video meetings. As I like to make calls and solve problems on the spot, I was pleasantly surprised that Brival picked up every call I made throughout the duration of the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Great communication at every stage and PM’s high analytical project-planning skills.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

The project was carried out meticulously according to what we agreed, all assumptions were met. My goal has been achieved. I have no objections to Brival's work.

Look Pożyczka has been selling loans and managing receivables collection since 2011. Thanks to modern fintech solutions and a dedicated team of people, our loans are characterized by one of the industry's highest repayment rates. The company is the owner of the RFL.com.pl investment website. It is located in Częstochowa and operates in several voivodeships. The owner of the RFL.com.pl website is Look Pożyczka Limited Liability Company with the office registered in Częstochowa.

For what projects/services did your company hire Brival, and what were your goals?

Since our company had been active in the loan industry for years, we started looking for a solution that would integrate the internal processes in the company, ensure a higher rate of instalment repayment and take care of the needs of potential investors. The cooperation with Brival began with implementing a platform which would connect the borrowers (who were our company's clients at that time) and people who wanted to invest in those loans. At the same time, there was constant work on technological solutions supporting the day-to-day servicing of loans.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

An important factor in the selection of the contractor for the platform was the positive opinion of a partner who we had already cooperated with before. Positive feedback from a respected specialist who recommended Brival as a reliable partner and contractor for his previous orders, was extremely valuable to us. Even during the first meeting with the representatives of Brival, we had an opportunity to see that the level of knowledge and flexibility of the team perfectly fit into the model of cooperation we had been looking for.

The commissioned works included: The cooperation with Brival was long-lasting and multi-stage. It included the creation of an investment platform, integration with the company's internal systems, the creation of a mobile application for employees dealing with loans and the development of native mobile applications for customers (IOS, Android).

The team consisted of one project manager, a graphic designer, four programmers and one system architect. Our cooperation started in July 2016 and continues to this day. Depending on the specifics of subsequent projects, there are different people taking part in our cycle meetings.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We knew that there were already two platforms on the Polish market referring to the social lending investment model. Our intention was to create a website that could best meet the expectations of three parties: employees of our company, investors and borrowers, assuming a slightly different business model than in the case of our competitors.

However, legal changes introduced at that time turned out to be unfavourable for the adopted business model. They had a wide impact not only on the entire investment environment, but also forced the necessity to adjust the way the website operated to legal requirements. They were also a serious challenge for the entire team, but we managed to overcome the difficulties thanks to the team's commitment.

We launched the basic version of the website just 6 months after starting our cooperation. Being aware of the fact that our investment model is classified as an alternative form of investment, we wanted the visual identification of the website and its supporting applications to differ from banking offers. At the stage of creating graphic designs, we focused on vivid colours and vector graphics. The proposal presented by Brival perfectly matched this assumption.

We were aware that from the point of view of a loan company, the most important parameter that we had to pay attention to was the instalment repayment rate. Our task was to create a tool that would be both financially attractive for all parties as well as engaging for investors and borrowers. It seemed necessary to create not only a web platform, but also mobile applications supporting the operation of the system.

Thanks to the investment platform, users got access to a list of loans which they could invest in. The full use of the website was possible after creating an account and verifying it by means of a transfer from a personal account. Although the loans had one of the highest instalment repayment rates in the industry, we offered our users the benefit of additional capital security.

In case of solvency problems, 90 days after the last instalment, the system automatically generated an order to withdraw unpaid funds. Over time, the system also introduced the possibility of using the affiliate programme. The introduction of affiliate codes allowed the new client to increase the profit from the first transaction by 1%, and the person recommending was given additional remuneration.

From the point of view of the effectiveness of the venture, the launch of the mobile application, through which investors could track the status of their investments in real time, turned out to be the best choice. By means of e-mail/text/push notifications, they were informed about subsequent payments, visits to borrowers or emerging problems about the repayment of receivables.

We have had different opportunities to see the solidity and reliability of the team. Communication went smoothly. Weekly team meetings made it possible to discuss individual issues, develop processes, define priorities and plan further work. We were in constant contact with the contractor and additionally we received reports on the course of work. This played a key role in controlling how the budget was spent.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

From the very beginning, we had no doubts about the effectiveness of implementing technological solutions. However, we did not expect Brival to be able to provide such extensive and substantive support at the stage of agreeing the business model. We are aware of the fact that the final shape of the product was the result of our inter-team work. Their reliability, flexibility, and ability to adapt in sudden changes allowed us to maintain smooth operation

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Cooperation with Brival has been successful at every stage. Positive impressions from the cooperation mean that the work on the rfl.com.pl platform is not our last joint project.

I’m a UX/UI designer at a design agency. We provide e-commerce opportunities and brand experiences within the digital space. We’re located in the Boulder, Colorado area.

What challenge were you trying to address with Brival?

We were trying to manage a number of our e-commerce client websites. We needed a trusted development partner for their online shops as their product catalogs grew and the market shifted. Therefore, we needed someone able to jump into existing development work to get in there and make good development decisions without having any problems arising.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Brival jumped in on our projects to build complete extensions or update information on preexisting websites. To kick off a project, we brought them with our clients. Then, we talked through the overall objectives and shared the approved designs. We discussed the steps it would take for development, and they gave us an educated timeframe and the expectations for the work. Overall, we had a great back and forth looking at how to meet the goals.

They pulled together several different technologies, which was great because they jumped on various projects that they didn’t start from scratch. They used code bases in Angular, PHP, and JavaScript, as well as platforms such as WordPress, Shopify, and HubSpot.

What is the team composition?

We worked directly with the CEO and a lead project manager. We were also in contact with some of their developers and the user acceptance testing (UAT) team.

How did you come to work with Brival?

A colleague recommended them. We were exploring different developers and partnerships, and they brought Brival to our attention. They really stuck out to us.

We spent within the $25,000–$30,000 range.

What is the status of this engagement?

We kicked off our first project at the beginning of May 2021, and it ended in October 2021. We look forward to working with them in the future, but we don’t have anything to put on their plate at the time.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did a great job, and we considered that each project was a great success. They were able to hit aggressive deadlines. In one of the projects in particular, they put together a product bundler for one of our client’s latest products, and the shopping experience was built in three days. Moreover, it didn’t compromise any of the quality, and 13 orders were place in the first 48 hours after launch.

How did Brival perform from a project management standpoint?

ClickUp was our main tool to keep track of our large scale projects, and we used Basecamp to share approved designs for development. We met on a daily basis to keep track of the projects and used Google Meet and Slack for ongoing questions and daily communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were incredible. Brival’s team was able to jump into any type of project and be comfortable building upon that work regardless the stack of code. Any question they had, they made sure that we were coming to a good decision. It felt like everyone listed to the requirements, took the designs into account, and delivered a buttoned-up project.

We were proud to show the results to our clients time and time again. Overall, they went above and beyond to deliver the best project and hit our intended deadlines.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only area that could be improved between both of our teams was the branching strategy to roll out isolated project requests ahead of others. If one item got approved for the same website project, we’d be able to roll that out without jeopardizing other code in the base. It’s an opportunity for the next time we work together.

Additionally have assisted in the launch of another website rebuild for a major debt consolidation company. Their team continues to provide ongoing project management, architecture, UI/UX design support for multiple clients. We pay them ongoing monthly for their hours.

Their CEO is our main point of contact but we continue to work with a project manager, multiple engineers, and designers from Brival to assist with various clients depending on the client requests.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The completed requested website rebuilds on schedule and has allowed our clients to better be discovered with new domains as well as efficiently managing integrations and cms software.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We work cohesively as a team. We have weekly stand-ups via Zoom as well as additional client calls. We also use their ticketing system to work on a sprint cycle that allows us to effectively quote the clients and manage workflows to meet deadlines.

They have exceeded any and all of our expectations and have performed and delivered on schedule to meet launch deadlines without any concern. This speaks volumes to their workflow and efficiency considering our teams work on completely opposite time zones.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We work with multiple IT agencies worldwide and Brival provides outstanding support as well as efficient turnaround time in deliverables. If their engineers are inexperienced in a platform Brival is willing to train their people to meet demands and be current with all major offerings.

They have very efficient communication and we don't find any areas where we suggest an improvement.

For what projects/services did your company hire Brival, and what were your goals?

The cooperation with Brival concerned the implementation of the project "JURASSIC CENTRE FOR THE SUPPORT OF SOCIAL ECONOMY 2018-2023", co-financed by the European Social Fund. Thanks to the funds from this program, the foundation created new jobs and one of the few charity shopping platforms in Poland. The main goal of the foundation at the time of joining the program was to build an intuitive and transparent platform operating in several basic areas.

On the one hand, Boutique of Dreams was to be an electronic shopping platform that would allow items from the foundation's own product line to be put up for sale. The sales path was extended to include the possibility of transferring products obtained from donors and then putting them up for sale. We are currently working on extending these functionalities to a social media dimension. Activities within this area will be implemented by linking entities and organizations in need of support with people and companies ready to help.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

The implementation of projects financed from EU funds is subject to more stringent requirements than traditional cooperation. In the case of this project, the contractor was chosen through a tender procedure. We were aware of the fact that sending inquiries to several companies must be preceded by preparing a precise description of the subject of the contract. We knew that its provisions would be analysed by the Intermediate Bodies not only in terms of formal but also qualitative correctness.

The decisive factor in choosing the contractor was the price criterion. Our foundation had already had the opportunity to cooperate with Brival in creating the foundation website. Due to the fact that the business model of Boutique of Dreams was not sufficiently developed, we needed consultations in the general business dimension. We invited the representatives of Brival for extensive legal, accounting, marketing and technological consultations.

In the course of subsequent meetings, we managed to develop the operation model of the charity website, which took into account all system requirements, was intuitive and transparent, and at the same time did not expose the foundation to any formal and legal risks.

• developing a responsive version of the online shop
• preparation of graphic signs and a brand book for products from the brand line
• copywriting - creating unique, interesting content in the service

• ensuring the possibility of adding products to the online shop: preparing product descriptions, creating appropriate product variants, categories in the shop, adding main product photos and product galleries
• configuring shipping methods

The cooperation with the project team went smoothly. Despite the short time to implement the entire project, we managed to successfully implement all the guidelines in accordance with the adopted schedule. The possible time delay was a big challenge for the entire team, so we are very happy that we managed to implement it on time thanks to the Brival team.

The entire project was carried out with the utmost care. The work began with a series of conceptual meetings during which subsequent functionalities were discussed and further paths were developed: purchasing, sales as well as donors. After precisely determining all the guidelines, we jointly developed the road map of the website, taking into account all the layouts and paths on which representatives of various types of users will move.

The meetings were held once a week. The entire process was divided into detailed tasks which we could monitor via YouTrack.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

A comprehensive approach to project implementation. We felt the support of the entire team not only at the stage of the implementation of the platform itself. In the case of our project, the substantive support at the stage of developing the business model of the project was of great importance. The adopted model was, by definition, unusual. Therefore, the combination of the charitable nature of the shop with a sales model based on commission cooperation turned out to be a problematic issue.

From the beginning of the project, the cooperation went well.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Brival developed our app for iOS starting from the specifications that we provided to them. The app’s functionalities include a chat where residents and home managers can talk to each other, and it also has booking services with billing centralized within the app.

Throughout the engagement, we worked with 4–5 people from their team, including backend, iOS, and web app developers.

They were referred by an advisor I was working with who had experience with them in the past.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together from September 2020–January 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our app has been launched on the iOS app store, and it’s been successful. We haven’t had any bugs since they worked on that before releasing it. The app is running great, and we’re happy with the work they did.

How did Brival perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a good cadence with checking calls to review the project. We could always get in touch with them to ask questions, which they were responsive to solving. In terms of communication, we used Slack.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I was pleased with the balance between cost and deliverables.

Have a clear picture of what you’re looking to accomplish and what’s more important to prioritize. If you’re clear, they’ll be more detail-oriented about the project’s specifics.

We started working together in July or August 2019, and our engagement is ongoing.

As a result of their work, we’ve seen a 30% revenue increase. Anecdotally, they’re efficient and deliver on time. They keep the momentum of the project going.

We have weekly standups and use YouTrack. They did a great job in terms of organization, and they used an agile framework with two-week sprints. They’re consistently delivering solutions.

I am the President of Plunjr, a video, self-help app that provides personal help from a licensed plumber to help you fix your DIY plumbing project.

For what projects/services did your company hire Brival, and what were your goals?

We had three prior developers that struggled to make a reliable video connection as well as stay on time and within budget. Brival was asked to rebuild the app from scratch and provide a production version within a months time. They did.

SOLUTION

How did you select Brival and what were the deciding factors?

Brival came as a recommendation from a trusted source. Mateusz's ability to communicate clearly what he thought might be the problem was well as offer solutions within a very shorty window of time (24-48hours) was logical and reassuring. The app itself is a diagnostic tool and as the president of the company I diagnose problems myself within my own trade daily. A craftsman can recognize another craftsmen regardless of the discipline and the Brival team is made up of main talented folks.

Brival was originally tasked with producing and app that would make a video connection with only a single button. That connection had to be made %99.9 of the time. They have completed that task and helped us work through some UI/UX problems as well. We are currently working on a timeline through the rest of the year to build out the other features such as e-commerce and scheduling.

Brival has included us in their live coding session for some fine-tuning of the app before release and the Plunjr team has found this extremely helpful as well as amusing to see behind the curtain. They work both fast and efficiently. Deliverables have been on time and complete.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Brival does a good job at communicating timelines as well as under promising and over delivering. They have a firm grasp on their trade and it shows in their work. Deliverables have been on time and complete. Any feedback given about bugs was addressed usually in a mater of hours not days.

Management style is very warm and customer facing. All meetings are meet with professionalism but the team is also able to offer a friendlier side that we have not seen from the tech community before. They communicate with us using both Slack and Pivotal Tracker

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to work quickly and produce a quality product.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I traditional find this section of a review the most important as I prefer to only ready the "improvement" section. However, I have yet to find a fault with the Brival team. The tech industry is plagued with lazy bodies that want free food and a ping pong tournament every day. This team wants to work! If I was pressed to respond though I would say they're geography far from us but even that they compensate for by "time shifting" to work around our schedule.

We needed to build our website in order to launch the company.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We were asking for a basic e-commerce site, requiring a CMS and solid visual implementation of designs. Our company worked with a design studio to create the look and feel of all the pages. However, we needed a dev shop to handle the backend and the JavaScript on the frontend to ensure that the site was representative of the designs. At this point, the main aspects of the work are complete, but we’re still doing check-ins with them every two weeks.

We had a mutual friend that connected them with us. That friend was helping us get spun up with them, but we took them in as part of our team

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I owned a software development shop for four years, so I have pretty high expectations for technical and communication-related quality. I’ve tried multiple times to try partnerships with offshore teams, and they’ve made the experience satisfying. I’d invite my contacts to work with them, which is saying a lot because they could be considered a rival of mine.  

They were fantastic across the board, meeting all necessary deadlines. Whenever we had an urgent issue, they’d bend over backward to solve the problem for us. 

How did Brival perform from a project management standpoint?

They have an onshore product manager that we could, theoretically, work exclusively with. However, we chose to have a weekly check-in with their entire team. That’s made it feel like they’re all part of our team. Even though they’re in Poland, we’ve communicated easily. We use Slack as our main communication conduit. Throughout the week, we may change priorities, but they’re always available to us to accommodate that.

In many of our meetings, we’re not just talking about work. We’re also getting to know them as individuals. We’ve become very close over time. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Remember that contract software developers are individuals, not assets. To get the most out of your relationship with them, be a good client. That means establishing priorities and being content when someone gives you everything they can. Don’t expect more than is possible.
