Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Finished the Proof of Concept (POC) phase, during which a variety of features, use cases, APIs, and functional capabilities were verified in terms of the intended result. The framework for the AI and UI/UX procedure that will be used to develop the MVP has been established. Features that might or might notbe included in the MVP are listed in this paper. 

In order to define some of the discoveries found in the proof of concept as within the scope of the MVP and become deliverables, while other findings will have to wait until after the MVP phase, it is imperative that we provide input on the essential features that must be included in the MVP based on the existing budget.

A lot of people participated in our MVP beta test, and it demonstrated the effectiveness of the MVP

I am the co-founder and CEO of a technology company with a platform where individuals can buy and sell golf equipment.

What challenge were you trying to address with Brightlab? 

We needed a company to develop a website and application for us. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Brightlab is doing end-to-end website development in React for my organization. We’ve provided them with a basic user story, and then they’ve completed the design and wireframing. They’ve built the back-and frontend of the website as well as the administrative panel. Everything Brightlab develops is customized to our industry and company. They’re continuing to add enhancements and execute QA processes while the website is in the beta version. 

We’re also in the beginning stages of mobile application development — they’re developing a proposal for how that project will progress.  

What is the team composition?

We worked with the owner, a project manager, two frontend developers, a backend developer, an administrative panel developer, and UX/UI designers and developers. 

How did you come to work with Brightlab?

We found Brightlab through a website where their portfolio was displayed. I liked their work and they had impressive design skills, so we met with them. Their estimated delivery lifecycle was good, and they seemed to know what they were doing. All of that was important to us, so we hired them. 

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested around $35,000 with Brightlab. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with Brightlab in December 2020 and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve successfully launched the beta version of the website. Brightlab has delivered everything we asked for — they continue to prove that they’re a really high-quality company. 

How did Brightlab perform from a project management standpoint?

Brightlab had good project management; they used Notion and Google Sheets to track project and QA processes. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Brightlab’s team is very skilled. They’re flexible and work with the customer to create a rational solution for their technological needs. I love that Brightlab isn’t offering legacy technology — they’re doing custom, up-to-date website development.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t have anything specific for them to improve on. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Clients need to have their user stories and examples of work they like on hand when they start their partnership with Brightlab.

I'm the director and one of the co-founders of a SaaS platform that enables users to buy and sell food from each other's homes.

What challenge were you trying to address with Brightlab?

We needed their team to build our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Brightlab has relied on our pre-constructed scope as they've built mockups based on our proposed designs. Upon finalizing our MVP's structure, they've started the development procedures, using  HTML to devise backend solutions and React for our platform's frontend. They've implemented features that enable sellers to list menus, create and receive payments, and track their orders. We've initially wanted to use the site alongside our Facebook page when taking orders and later on decided to process transactions solely through the website, so Brightlab has completed around 15 releases to accommodate those modifications.

What is the team composition?

We've worked with between 8–10 resources, including their project manager and front- and backend developers and designers.

How did you come to work with Brightlab?

My good friend strongly recommended Brightlab's team to me.

How much have you invested in them?

We've spent between $50,000–$60,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in May 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Brightlab has strategically built an intuitive and user-friendly MVP that continues to secure positive feedback from our early users. Their team has brought impactful solutions to our business, and their performance still exceeds our expectations to date.

How did Brightlab perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate via Zoom and Telegram and rely on Airtable for project management. Brightlab is a collaborative and responsive team — they meet our deadlines, attend to our concerns, and take responsibility for their actions. Additionally, they're always willing to go above and beyond to address issues and explain technical terms and processes to us. From a project management standpoint, I can confirm that they're 100% effective.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Not a lot of providers are willing to go out of their way to provide transparent documentation and scale up or down according to their client's needs, but Brightlab is an exception to that. They've been a brilliant partner to us, and I don't think I'll ever consider hiring a different development team to handle our technical needs.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We've dealt with design-related issues because we haven't established our core branding from the start — it's more of our responsibility than theirs, but we'll appreciate some assistance from their team on that matter.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be transparent and invest in your professional relationship with their team. Kicking off the engagement with a definitive scrum framework will also help expedite the development process.
