Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the managing director of ROCC, a software company. We provide specialised housing maintenance and repair software to UK-based local authorities and housing associations.

What challenge were you trying to address with Brightec?

We were developing a new field service worker mobile application. Although we were confident the rich features we were introducing would be market-leading, we wanted to ensure we had a market-leading UX/UI design.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We asked Brightec to work with our development and consultancy teams to understand what we were trying to achieve and use their experience to translate it into an amazing UX. The team has reviewed our current application, understood the new features we were building into it, considered how our customers would use it, and focused on providing us with a UX tailored for our market and end users. The two main focuses were ensuring screens were easy to use and information was readily available with the minimal amount of clicks or scrolling. Additionally, the user journey from the beginning of their work until the end had to be as friction-free as possible.

What is the team composition?

We’ve mainly worked with two teammates from Brightec, although we interacted with four teammates.

How did you come to work with Brightec?

I came across Brightec via a Sussex-based networking group. I was impressed by the work I had seen them do with other large clients. During my discussion with them, I was extremely impressed by their energy and enthusiasm. They made me feel confident that they could take our vision and translate it into a beautiful mobile app.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Brightec in April 2025, and our engagement is ongoing.

Brightec has delivered exceptional new screen and workflow designs.

How did Brightec perform from a project management standpoint?

Brightec has delivered on time. The team has been proactive and communicative at all stages. We mainly communicate via video meetings.

Brightec's collaboration and proactive approach are impressive. Their team feels like part of our team.

I don't think there's anything they can improve on. They've been amazing.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted to understand how consumers were actually navigating our websites, ensuring we were offering them the quickest way of getting to the information that they wanted. And, a smooth, reliable checkout experience.

We chose to partner with Brightec on this project given there extensive experience and flawless reputation within the digital world.

Brightec carried out detailed UX testing on our website, interviewing five end-users who had not shopped with us before.

What was the team composition?

We had a PM who held our hand throughout the process. There was an initial deep dive session where Brightec ensured they fully understood our requirements. Nothing was too much trouble throughout the project, and there was never any doubt in their ability to deliver.

We were present on the day to observe the project, and it was followed up with a concise summary of the results.

Communication between their team and ours was effortless.

The project ran like a well-oiled machine, the Brightec team were all exceptionally engaging in what they were doing and cared about making sure we were getting everything we needed.

We wanted to be able to show our work to clients using AppleTV.

The app allows customers to look through various genres of film production services that we produce. It features a detailed menu, but it’s actually simple to navigate.

We worked with a dedicated project manager and a team of developers from Brightec.

You couldn’t ask for better service. They’re a great, knowledgeable team that's willing to go the extra mile. You feel confident that you’re dealing with the experts in this field. Nothing was too much of a challenge to overcome.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Our two teams worked really well together since we share a similar ethos and values system.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The fundamentals that the Founder has put in place seem to make people genuinely thrive. They’re a hardworking outfit, but there’s room for a less formal approach to business. The office is a stunning setup.

I honestly can’t think of anything. We’ve had a great experience.
