BACKGROUND

We are a film production, distribution, licencing and e-commerce company which have specialized in horror, science fiction and cult films for the past 30+ years. With a robust physical media and merchandise department that sells film related products we are a staple to the cult film collector's market. My role is e-commerce manager and digital marketing director for the company.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

We needed to update our ecommerce storefront while moving over to modern sale channel in order to meet the demands of customers and the requirements for digital advertising. 

SOLUTION

We chose Brand Vision based on great Clutch reviews, a long list of Google Marketplace reviews, and the presentation they provided while initially discussing the scope of the project. 

The project included an onboarding phase, discussion on how our throughts and ideas could be implenented in the new design, and then a project roadmap phase where we saw the new site come together from outline to completion. 

We worked with the website developer, the project manager and administration while completing this project.  All of them were very helpful, attentive to our needs, and responsive when questions arose. 

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

The final design of the site is exactly as we had hoped it would be. The design is responsive, clean and modern while giving us the opportunity to use the Shopify platform to expand our digital marketing initiatives and broaden our reach to potential customers. 

The management of this project by this team was efficient, considerate to our inquiries and concerns, and delivered to our expecations and well within the timeframe we anticipated. There were no surprises related to cost or scope of their abilities and throughout the course of the project and they continue to be very helpful and responsive now that the website is in our hands. 

The most impressive things about Brand Vision are their responsiveness and efficiency. There was not a lot of going back and forth in discovery and never did they try to upsell or change the scope of the project. Everything we asked for during discovery was included in the final design and it felt effortless during the prodction.

What challenge were you trying to address with Brand Vision?

We wanted to refresh our entire web presence, including our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Brand Vision redesigned and developed our website using Webflow. First, we met with the team and explained what we wanted to do. During the onboarding process, they looked in-depth at what we were doing and what we needed. They sent us an invoice and proposal, which we approved. For a few weeks, we had some meetings with the team to discuss the project and then had regularly scheduled updates from them on the design work. 

We sent over our branding, brand guidelines, and templates we wanted to work from and base the site on. Brand Vision customized the templates and built them out further for us. We wanted our home page to show images in a clean way that wasn’t overwhelming, and the team designed that for us. Users can see our most important and notable projects as they navigate the site.

They used Figma for the design. The team made an initial mock-up, a prototype, and a live site. Finally, they transferred the design over to our domain. Once it was complete, they came in and gave us a walkthrough of the site from the backend so that we could understand how to use it and train our whole team.

The project lasted from May–August 2022. Since the project wrapped, they’ve been available for ongoing monthly support as needed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The site functions as intended and exceeded our expectations. The update has been really well received internally and externally; everyone who sees it is blown away by it. Since the project wrapped recently, we don't have any statistics yet. 

How did Brand Vision perform from a project management standpoint?

They were extremely efficient and met every single deadline. Any delays we had were on our team. Brand Vision was amazing from a timeline perspective, and very understanding of our team being so delayed. The team was also respectful of the budget, which was amazing; we never felt like we would go over the budget. When we wanted changes or asked for tweaks, they were timely in implementing them.

As for communication, we appreciated that we only had one point person, which was important to us because we didn't want to navigate different contacts. Our point of contact diffused all the information who whoever it needed to go. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

What I liked most about working with Brand Vision was their customer service. While we were really happy with how the site turned out, the way they listened to us and took every piece of feedback into account stood out. Sometimes, when I've worked with other developers, it felt like I had to review every change they made and reiterate things, and that was never the case with Brand Vision. They always did what they said they would do and were really consistent.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I didn't think there were any areas they needed to improve; we were really happy working with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Brand Vision works as a collaborative creative partner, so if you have ideas or examples that you like, they'll understand them because they're adaptable to several different styles. If there's something you'd like to achieve from a functionality perspective or an idea you're not sure how to execute, they're also really good at finding solutions. Just be ready to communicate and ask questions — they're great.

I am a Graphic Designer for Bonus Track, which is a Toronto Creative Agency. We bring over-the-top marketing solutions to brands while specializing in activations, digital campaigns, influencer marketing and social media.

P&C new sister agency Bonus Track recently launched and required a gorgeous, colourful and impactful website to match the energy of our work and services. Brand Vision built out the temporary landing page and full website, including customized CMS features and an easy-to-use backend.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We were in the market to build out three brand websites and Hamoun and his team were organized and easily accessible to contact. The process was very simple and Hamoun consistently updated our team with efficient timing.

After having our discovery call, our team picked out the templates we envisioned for each website and Hamoun brought all the customization to life. We supplied all of the imagery and copy, and Hamoun curated each website page to fit our design needs while keeping up with our consistent feedback in a timely manner.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our team is very happy with the final outcome and believe that the Bonus Track website is an amazing reflection of our work and services. Multiple clients have mentioned how fun, colourful and resourceful the website is!

The workflow was very effective. Of course there is a lot of back and forth with feedback, especially for a design oriented company - but Hamoun was able to provide a solution for all of our requests.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was thoroughly impressed by how efficient, and communicative Brand Vision was. I would provide feedback and the updates would be made within hours with immediate email responses.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There are so many details going into building a website and multiple round of feedback, so every once in a while tasks/updates would be missed - but once we informed Brand Vision, they were quick to make those updates.

How did your relationship with the vendor evolve?

I didn’t like Brand Vision’s branding work because I didn’t feel like it reflected what I had asked for. They didn’t take the time to understand what I wanted; the intake interview took about 20 minutes, and they didn’t ask the right questions. Based on their process, they’re used to working with larger clients. Since we were a small startup, it seemed like we weren’t a priority to them.

Describe the impact this engagement has had on your business.

Their work didn’t meet our expectations, which led to delays in our launch because we had to start from scratch with another service provider. Ultimately, we didn’t just lose money but also time. 

How did Brand Vision perform from a project management standpoint?

They were quite strong on the time management side. The team was really conscious of meeting the deadlines that I put forth. We had regular Zoom meetings and communicated via email. Additionally, we met when they had deliverables to show me. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could have paid more attention to the discovery phase. I didn’t feel like they were interested in getting to know our brand or me, and that reflected in their work.

They might not be the right company for you if your company is a startup, if you don’t have a specific concept in mind, or if you’re starting from scratch.

The website redesign took a few set of revisions throughout the process, but Hamoun was very patient with us along the way. He managed us to stay on top of things so the project wouldn't linger and was able to make our changes in a very timely manner.

The open line of communication throughout the process, and the very quick turnaround times with the constant changes.

Certain items were missed (ie, changing out an image after being asked once or twice) but overall we understand there were a lot of changes happening every other week so we were understanding and patient.

I told Brand Vision what I wanted, and they did everything I asked. They made the process easy, and I’m happy with the final website.

Brand Vision managed the project really well. I asked them to deliver the website within a specific timeframe, and they met my deadline. Sam was very responsive, even outside regular business hours, which was great. They were very on top of the project; we met via Zoom and kept in touch via email and phone.

I was most impressed by their ability to deliver what I asked for within my desired time frame. I’m confident I chose the right development partner; I look forward to working with them again.

I am the CEO and Founder of Kinshasa Lifestyle based in Toronto. We are a clothing brand company. At KL, every fibre generated, and every style created is to produce the best, most desirable, and functional lifestyle clothing brand.

We were looking to redesign our existing site. Our current site had some problems that we were looking to fix. We also continue to work with Brand Vision for various other projects on our website design and development.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We found Brand Vision on Wix Marketplace. Wix referred us to Brand Vision as one of their partners. Hamoun, the project manager, gave me a call right away and he was able to understand the problems I was experiencing. I was looking to hire someone I could trust, and definitely someone local. Brand Vision met all my criteria, and they are located in Toronto as well. They had a wide range of portfolio pieces and they are the top Wix Website Design Agency in the world which is very impressive.

It began with a consultation over the phone with Hamoun. He let us know about their work and the steps. We set a Zoom meeting where I mentioned all the problems I was having with my current website. We also analyzed some of the websites I liked. Hamoun provided me with a website design proposal that mentioned all the deliverables. Once confirmed, Hamoun began to work on the home page, and he consistently updated me. Once I approved the design, he finalized the website. Now whenever I need edit on the website, I will contact Hamoun and they will get it done asap.

A team of 3 people worked on my project but I was only in contact with Hamoun. This made the communication very easy since he was the person I was speaking to for the first time.

Brand Vision was able to design the website I was looking for in the timeline. They delivered everything they were supposed to. They have also created an animation of my logo as a favour.

My site has not launched fully yet, but I am looking forward to going online. The design definitely stands out and has inspirations from the websites I provided to Brand Vision.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication was very simple and easy with Brand Vision. Since I had the contact of Hamoun, I could give him a call anytime or send him an email. We also set up several Zoom meetings as well.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I was very impressed by their knowledge about the Wix platform, and their scheduling. I was very happy with the deliverables. They have delivered all the items they promised plus more.

I was also very happy with the amount of time Hamoun spent with me to discuss the project and make sure I was in the loop with what was happening.

We chose the vendor based on how much experience they have in our field and how happy the past clients have been with the agency. Brand Vision seemed to have the highest level and a very comprehensive proposal.

First, we started with a discovery session with the Brand Vision team and went over all of our inspirations and goals. then we discussed the detailed timeline and steps of the project and what we needed to provide them. The next time we spoke with their team was to discuss the user journey on our website and the initial sketches. After that, we had multiple scheduled meetings to go over the process and give our thoughts on the designs or request revisions. The last step was training and sign off to close the project.

I am the owner of this project, I wouldn't call it a company just yet, I am an individual working with artists and other partial co-writers, (mainly just my brother who I bounce ideas off of) to make a webcomic series that will be free for anyone to view.

I used wix to find them and others and brand vision was very easy and quick to communicate with where others were slow to respond and not as neat with communication, the price they gave me was phenomenal so I went with them.

it was a very simple project, I messaged them through wix, told them about the sight I needed made, they got back to me very quickly, Sam from brand vision gave me a call and we discussed what was needed for my sight. I agreed to the price and paid it, Sam got back to me about two weeks later with the work they completed so far, then only another week tell it was complete, we booked time when we were both free so he could stream his screen to me and show how to operate the website and I was very pleased with everything, and that's it.

I only communicated with one person named Sam, I believe he was some kind of group leader, not sure exactly as it really didn't matter to me and it didn't come up in conversation.

the sight is very easy to use, looks very clean and nice, was shown extra ways I could use the sight that could make expanding its purpose easier in the future, honestly was a lot better than I was expecting for the low price they gave me, couldn't be happier with the outcome so that's a success

very clean, short, to the point and easy, as it was just me and Sam who talked.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Thanks to Brand Vision we are ready to take our next steps and enter the market and compete in it. As we have everything from packaging to the brand's theme and style ready.

We had scheduled meetings at least once a week. Furthermore, It was easy to connect with Brand Vision through email which they responded quickly and also by telephone as well.

The passion and amount of effort. They're really enthusiastic about what they do. They care a lot and make their clients feel like they're in safe hands.

My experience with them was flawless, so I can't suggest anything. just keep up the good work.
