We wanted to a create a mobile app where our hospitality industry partners can access candidate for part-time and full-time jobs online. The aim was to create a solution that can bridge the gap between employers and jobseekers. We also wanted to create a platform for our clients to purchase our products online without an hassles.

We searched online an after comparing and giving a brief to various vendors Brainbox seemed to understand the project from the initial phase.

A briefing meeting was held via zoom. This was followed by a series of meetings where aims and desired results were discussed with the team. Then to different stages of wireframes and designed. We then had a test that was done by one of the team members where feedback was given.

The app will be launched in May 2022. We're looking forward to the best outcomes and excited to share the app with our stakeholders.

The project manger was very professional. Explained everything thoroughly and was always available when questions arose. They took all the feedback given and implemented them with ease. He communicated well with the team.

It was their design skills. Absolutely magnificent. They incorporated our IP nicely into the app. The app looks fresh, young and very apealing to the eye.

I’m the director of Nodia Learning Private Limited, a renowned book publishing agency in India that’s been in business for more than 15 years. Colleges and schools are using our books and digital content, and students can ask for books in stores under our publisher's name.

What challenge were you trying to address with BrainBox Apps?

Before the pandemic, all our content was in the form of books and hard papers. Our immediate challenge was creating a technical and digital system that would allow us to streamline all these processes effectively. Hence, we decided to create a mobile app that would contain all the features we needed, allowing us to distribute our content to students and schools digitally.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

BrainBox Apps developed our mobile app. We started with the documentation on what the app’s modules would be, such as the payment gateway. From there, we moved on to the UI/UX design, during which they created mock-ups for our review and approval. BrainBox made all the designs, and they shared their work with us on a constant basis. They provided us with unlimited revisions. 

Once that was complete, we immediately moved to the development phase. Almost all our users are on Android, so we decided to start with that platform. We can distribute books and papers in PDF form to our students, as well as high-quality notes prepared by our teachers. We can ask queries from students and resolve them as soon as possible. It’s a complete educational platform, with most of its features revolving around that.  

The main challenge was reaching our expected daily installation rate of 3,000, both for us and BrainBox Apps’ development team.

We worked with five people from their team, including the developers and project manager. Their director was also involved in our discussions.

We searched for the top companies in India, and my team created a good list. We sent them an initial questionnaire to fill out, specifically on what they did or didn’t understand about our project. We chose BrainBox based on the subsequent discussions we had and the presentation they gave us. This decision led to a successful project.

We invested around $15,000–$17,000 for this project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in January 2022, and the project was completed in late February. Currently, they’re providing us with free maintenance for a four-month duration.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We surpassed 20,000 users within a matter of two weeks, and everything went smoothly. The most important thing I told their team was that the app must not hang or crash; it needed to be smooth. Thankfully, they stood by their commitments and promises, and the app’s performance and smoothness positively affected our download rate.

How did BrainBox Apps perform from a project management standpoint?

I was kept up to date throughout, and the communication was fluid. We used Trello for tracking tasks and WhatsApp and Skype for communication.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their understanding of the project was something that differentiated them from other providers. The level of personalization of every project that we had made it feel like I had an in-house team in my office. It was truly a personalized and awesome experience.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything — they were good on all fronts: communication, deadline management, quality, and performance. Everything went well.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Future clients should share their requirements, then listen to BrainBox’s advice; they’re the best at what they do, and they can provide effective advice based on their experience. To put it simply, just trust them, and everything will be alright.

Their team is pretty well-versed in user research and competitive analysis. The UX prototype and low fidelity design was high caliber and the revision requests were achieved very swiftly. We allotted 2 months to drive the project and the team was on time and delivered exceptional results.

Brainbox team is responsive and attentive and does their homework before suggesting options. The engagement across time zones was easy to setup with clear measurable outcomes. Their development team was also involved heavily giving us their inputs on app feasibility and usage design. We are weighing option on extending the project into mobile development phase.

We then sit together and design multiple variations for the prototype until we finalize the perfect one. BrainBox also puts down their thoughts instead of blindly following our ideas. This is what we liked most about BrainBox. All of the products that we developed are in production internally and we have begin soft testing.
