BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a managing partner at AdvisorAdit. Our business serves the independent financial advisor space. We cater to any stakeholder in the independent advisor community, from fund families, to custodians, to the various associations that serve advisors e.g. the Financial Planning Association, and the advisors themselves.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Boston Technology Corporation?
Our company is based on a technology platform, so we needed to have an outside company to build it for us.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
About four years ago, when we were trying to figure out our technology direction, we knew we were not going to be hiring internal staff. We needed to have a company to provide end-to-end services. In addition to helping us with the design, build, deployment, and support, we also needed a company that could handle both the backend and frontend well. We learned that a lot of companies were good in one or the other. Given that we wanted our system to be an enterprise-class platform, it was very difficult to find a company who did that cost-effectively.
We wanted to go with a Java backend, so an open stack, Linux, Java backbone. Our frontend at the time was just your standard HTML. We are starting to move towards HTML5, so some aspects of our system have that for a frontend. We’ve toyed with the idea of going with a native app, but that can be expensive and hard to manage on an ongoing basis. We are interested in learning more about Facebook’s new proprietary front-end code for our next generation user experience.
BTC [Boston Technology Corporation] helped us with the functional specification, then the technical design, and the build. We continue to engage with them when we want to do statements of work for enhancements or adding new features. We talk to them at least once a week, and sometimes twice a week. Their service model with us is that their development and QA environments are in India. When any new code passes that, we have a user acceptance testing environment here. That’s where I evaluate the code and approve it, then it goes into production.
When we first started, we had a project manager, a QA manager, a team lead, and two developers. The team lead and developers were really the folks working on the project. The project manager made sure things were on track and served as an escalation point. During the build, we always had the ability to be in touch with the president. Now, on a day-to-day basis, we will work with the team lead as our main contact, and he has someone working with him. From a development standpoint, there are two people day-to-day. Sometimes, the project manager will get involved when we scope out projects, and then we’ll talk to the president every once in a while.
How did you come to work with Boston Technology Corporation?
We found them through a web search. We reviewed many other companies. BTC stood out because they were able to cost-effectively manage both the frontend and the backend, given that our backend was Java and open-source.
How much have you invested with Boston Technology Corporation?
We started with a chunk that was around $50,000. Throughout the years, it’s been in the $100,000–$150,000 range.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together around November of 2011, and the relationship is very much ongoing. We depend on them.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
The most important metric is that, out of the 4 ½ years that the platform has been live, we’ve only had a few issues. BTC has been right there for those issues, which is especially important given that they are based out of India. They have an office here, but their developers are over there.
We needed them to really build. Whenever we want to design anything, we have a web developer here, a local guy, who will help us design things. He either gives us the code or lets BTC know what to do. BTC then actually implements that. When we first started with BTC years ago, they did not have a lot of frontend native app folks. I think we were one of the first customers that had a frontend with them, but they quickly ramped up. Right now, a lot of their business is app design. We just happen to have our own person with experience working with our platform for the frontend.
How did Boston Technology Corporation perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re very good. We’re really hands-on, and that’s one of the reasons they’re very cost-effective for us. For project management, I take on a little bit of that role. I overlap into their world a bit because we know them so well. You could not get a stronger partnership. We use Redmine, which helps track bugs and enhancements. If I want an enhancement done, I will scope it out and upload to Redmine. As these lists build up, I can create a report and review. That’s how they give us pricing and all that.
What did you find most impressive about Boston Technology Corporation?
I don’t have much to compare them to, but they are very accommodating to us. They’re not always holding their hands out for money every time we talk on the phone. There’s none of that a tall, which is so refreshing. Maybe other companies operate this way as well, but our experience with them is nice.
Are there any areas Boston Technology Corporation could improve?
Early on, it would have been nice for them to have more of a user experience team, but they have that now. It’s not a valid critique at this point, as they’ve addressed that. I really have no complaints with them.

Boston Technology Corporation created a live streaming mobile app (iOS) for on-demand event experiences, translating a general brief into a functional product. The team now supports phase-two development.
During early market testing, the app has attracted tremendous feedback from industry experts due to its sleek UI/UX and unique service offerings. Boston Technology Corporation’s proactive workflow, regular accessibility, and ability to present options continue to make the engagement beneficial.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are an on-demand live streaming platform. I’m the founder and CEO.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Boston Technology Corporation?
We were trying to put my vision of what this business needed to be into something that worked—an actual product, a mobile app. What I was trying to create was a ubiquitous, on-demand live streaming service where somebody wanted to be at an event but couldn’t be for whatever reason. You could actually order that event to be live streamed, and others could join in on that live stream also. There’s a revenue model because people get paid throughout the process; there’s a user interface situation because people like myself who are clueless with technology should be able to work through it. It needed to be accessible to everybody and provide extremely high-quality live streaming all at the same time. So, you’ve got the “How do I get there?”, “How do I bring people together?”, and “How do I make this a great experience that people will want to use?” I had a vision for it. I knew what I wanted, and I’m so technologically incompetent that I needed to work with somebody who could literally take my words and put them into the application, which Boston Technology Corporation (BTC) did.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
What was great about it was that they first really looked at the business process that I was trying to create. They didn’t try to shove my process into a specific type of technology.
They gave me options about what platform we were going to use. They did the research for me. They presented all the pros and cons, and we made the decision to go in a certain direction. We did that process at every step along the way.
We developed for iOS. I had a primary quality assurance contact, a primary overall project contact, a specific contact in charge of keeping meetings and schedules and facilitating things between the developers, and a business/sales contact who oversaw the entire project. In terms of their actual development team, I can count seven who have been on calls with me. How many actual people they have on the project, I have no idea.
They didn’t really do much marketing of the app to my clients because I didn’t ask them to, but they did completely walk me through the process of submitting to the App Store and dealing with all the issues that might arise from that. The description and things along those lines and other things that needed to be included, they handled all that. I didn’t know any of it. They took care of the whole thing.
How did you come to work with Boston Technology Corporation?
I found them through a series of searches, quite honestly. I did several searches for the type of company I was looking for. I looked at their past ratings, and I looked at the scale and scope of what they had developed in the past. This is projected to be a very widely used platform, and I needed it to be immediately scalable in terms of technology. So, I looked at what they had done and narrowed it down from five to three. I decided on BTC after my interviews with them.
What I loved about them, and why I chose them, is that they started with the business and worked backward from there. Then, at each step of the way, it was, “Okay, here’s where we’re at; here’s where we need to go; what decision do you want to make?”
How much have you invested with Boston Technology Corporation?
Approximately $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started in October of 2016. They have completed the original phase, and I’m thrilled to continue the relationship. We’re actually in the middle of development for phase two.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or impact of the engagement?
I can’t release any qualification about downloads yet because of our investor agreement and things like that. But, I can say that through our testing in certain markets, amongst certain people who have experience in developing this type of thing, the feedback has been tremendous. The user experience (the UI/UX, as they say) has all come back extremely positive. In fact, they did such a good job that they accelerated our launch date because there were things we tested that came out so well that we could just move forward with certain things.
How did Boston Technology Corporation perform from a project management standpoint?
I will tell you that there were never cost overruns, and there was nothing unexpected in terms of delays. They were extremely professional about time and meetings and agendas and things along those lines that kept everything on schedule. They’re excellent—the best I’ve seen. As an entrepreneur, I’m very cognizant of deadlines and cost overruns. Nothing bothers me more than frivolous overruns or time delays. These guys were great. They understood that.
They used several project management tools, but they understand how ridiculously incompetent I am. I literally have a hard time going into the different types of easy-to-use applications that people use for project management. We did have a couple of tools, and everything was always updated in there, but they also backed that up with specific emails and spreadsheets for me that I could easily access and understand. It wasn’t like they didn’t have it; they just did double the work to make sure I had all the information.
What did you find most impressive about Boston Technology Corporation?
They never wavered from the business process. If I started to get a little out of scope on my end, they were the ones bringing me back in to make sure that the UX would be in line with what I wanted to create.
They understand that I am trying to run a business to provide a service to a certain clientele. That covers everything. It covers respect for my time, respect for my cost, respect for the project, and understanding the project and what it’s designed to do. Their overall attitude as entrepreneurs themselves was critical in the relationship that we have. I never had to say anything more than, “This is what I need for my business,” and they understood that. I think that’s very rare amongst even the best development teams.
Are there any areas Boston Technology Corporation could improve?
I’m hesitant to say no because we can all do better and improve, but no. Their engineers stay up until three o’clock in the morning to meet my timelines.

Boston Technology developed and designed an iOS mobile application for a developmental education platform. The app is cloud-based and designed to be user-friendly.
Users of the application praise the product for its high-quality look and feel. BTC’s team responds to queries very quickly and provided helpful suggestions during the development process. BTC delivers end products that are a high value for the money.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
The National Center for Montessori in the Public Sector is a nonprofit that works to ensure high-quality Montessori in the public arena. I am the executive director.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Boston Technology Corporation?
Schools have had a hard time identifying quality Montessori education. We were interested in developing a mobile application tool for this, as well as for developmental education. It’s an environmental scale that helps school leaders and teachers know if they have the elements necessary for a high-functioning developmental classroom.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had a well-developed idea of what the app should look like, in terms of the elements that would be put into it, the theory, and research behind it. We worked with BTC to create the app for us. They were involved in designing the app, providing suggestions for the look of the app, including colors, fonts, and screens. They worked with us to ensure we developed the most efficient way to collect the data needed by users. The data is all stored in the cloud, so our organizations and the users can have access to it. The app was built for iOS, but I don’t have the details on the specific technologies used in development. We worked with five team members on this project.
We requested that the app be user-friendly and that it looked good. We also wanted to have something that could be stored and used for researchers in the future as we create a Montessori database. All those things were undertaken and completed. BTC didn’t provide marketing or strategy, but they did put us in contact with folks who might be suited for that work.
How did you come to work with Boston Technology Corporation?
We started out using another organization to develop the app, and we wasted seven months of work with them. We did some research, look at websites, and we interviewed BTC. We were impressed with their team, their knowledge, and professionalism, so we decided to use them.
How much have you invested with Boston Technology Corporation?
I think it’s around $35,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project began in July of 2016, and the relationship is ongoing. We’re still doing some work on 1.0, but we’re also talking about doing a second version, which would be an additional contract.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
The app still has a few refinements to be made, but it’s been universally praised by users. They like the design and the feel, and the usability of the app. The work is high-quality. We have a hundred schools that are currently piloting the app, and we’ve been offering workshops around the country. The schools are wanting more; they very much like what they’re seeing. I think it’s been positive.
The app functions well. We’re now getting to the point where it’s reliable. There were some issues during the roll-out, but those have been addressed. There are some things that we would like to include which were beyond the scope of the original contract, so that’s where we’ll be working with BTC next.
Compared to the other firm, BTC was much more productive. They have made steady progress, so that’s been very helpful to us.
How did Boston Technology Corporation perform from a project management standpoint?
I would give project management mixed reviews; mostly positive, but there were some hiccups at the mid-point of the project. Things weren’t getting done on time, and there was some miscommunication. A new project manager came on board, and things have gone more smoothly since. We use Basecamp, and we do phone calls for communication.
What did you find most impressive about Boston Technology Corporation?
I don’t have a lot of experience with other providers, but I know that BTC responds to queries very quickly. Their sales representative is very interested in how things are proceeding. If I ever have an issue, I just check in with him, and he passes it on to the appropriate person.
Are there any areas Boston Technology Corporation could improve?
I think BTC was a little optimistic on the deadlines of when things would be available. I don’t know if that’s because they didn’t have enough people on the project, or if it was simply more complicated than initially envisioned. The first set of timelines were not being met, and that’s when we had the change of project managers.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and CEO of Glucose Advisors.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Boston Technology Corp?
We were trying to take an algorithm that I had created for Type 1 diabetes and nutrition and translate that into a mobile app. It was the first-ever activity support system for Type 1 diabetes.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Boston Technology built both an iOS and Android app from scratch, based on a road map—I had to teach their team diabetes physiology as well as exercise physiology. They took that training and translated my experience into an app. I didn’t have any technical expertise, so they took my vision and created what I was looking for. They incorporated wearables such as heart rate monitors and also the Apple Sales-Kit. They included food databases that required them to tap into different APIs as well as mapping capabilities using Google Maps. These were all stored in a HIPAA-compliant server. Boston Technology also provided marketing and strategy through the lead person in India, who was great. They helped me launch the app in the app stores. I had one point of contact on the East Coast and one overseas.
How did you come to work with Boston Technology Corp?
I researched a limited number of firms. I was planning to work with a partnering hospital, but they left the partnership early on in the development process. However, they were the ones who introduced me to Boston Technology. I liked their firm because they were able to do the project within the time and budget I was looking for. I felt they had the research expertise and understood the problem. They were excited about the project and that made me excited to work with them.
How much have you invested with Boston Technology Corp?
We spent between $100,000 and $155,000 on the project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in February 2015, and I would consider the work ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
I was pleased with their services, and the app runs well and has great functionality. The app is downloaded 150 times a week. We use Mixpanel to find out how people are using the app, and they like the design and colors. There were bugs in the beginning, but that’s to be expected. At this time, we’re not trying to add any new features because we’re trying to get bought out. Boston Technology was trying to create something new and novel, and I was happy with the solutions they came up with. Their company is extremely capable and competent. They’re very good at execution and implementation even when working in a time crunch with a very complex subject matter.
How did Boston Technology Corp perform from a project management standpoint?
They are super organized. The point of contact I had was very good at liaising with me and taking those tasks and organizing everything we needed in a way that made sense. We spent a lot of time before we did any coding, mapping out everything in a very buttoned-up dossier that really helped guide the team in India. There was between 15 and 20 people working on the project, and I was in contact with one particular person all the time. We used Redmine to communicate. It was ongoing and intense for six months, and the project was a bit delayed because I added features as we went along that were not part of the original scope.
What did you find most impressive about Boston Technology Corp?
This was a very complex project, and I was immensely impressed with how they understood the project and translated that into code. I had to think things through as the app was created, and they were able to walk ten steps ahead to figure out what we needed. That was very helpful. There were things I didn’t know how to get through, so I would tell them my vision and they gave suggestions on how to reach my goals. I was impressed that they could understand the disease and exercise portions and create an app for that in six months. Not everything went according to plan, and we had to troubleshoot a lot of things, but I was very happy with the end product.
Are there any areas Boston Technology Corp could improve?
The only limitation I experienced was there was some level of autonomy. I really needed to spell out what I wanted. However, that would not detract me from hiring them again.

BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are a digital health company offering a counseling product. We're still in the startup phase and have been operating for two and a half years. I am the president and chief executive officer of the company.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Boston Technology Corporation?
Our primary product and concept is for digital genetic counseling, and we needed an outside company to make it a reality for us.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had used two previous partners prior to Boston Technology Corporation, so there was a partial product in place. We brought it to them for improvement and enhancements. There have been many goals to hit, and Boston Technology Corporation has been great at helping us chart them out and make them a reality.
How did you come to work with Boston Technology Corporation?
We had worked with two other technology companies, and I was particularly unhappy with the second one. We were introduced to Boston Technology Corporation by a mutual contact. I met their CEO [Ranjani Rao] and had the feeling that communication with Boston Technology Corporation would be more clear cut, and that we would get a much more genuine, honest approach. This is what led us to choose them.
How much have you invested with Boston Technology Corporation?
The cost of Boston Technology Corporation's work has been between $50,000 and $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We have been working with Boston Technology Corporation for 15 months [since 2015]. The collaboration is ongoing.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Success stories have come through having a transparent partnership. Boston Technology Corporation was truly a part of our team and has an interest in our development as much as in putting money into their own pockets. We've always been able to trust and count on Boston Technology Corporation's team. They've been professional, eager, and willing to help us, particularly compared to the second company we used.
How did Boston Technology Corporation perform from a project management standpoint?
The process is managed efficiently. We were concerned about the communication because we know that some of Boston Technology Corporation's team is offshore. There was a time difference, and there could be some language barriers, but Boston Technology Corporation's team went above and beyond in staying in touch by email and in getting back to us swiftly.
What did you find most impressive about Boston Technology Corporation?
Rather than being another client for them, I feel that Boston Technology Corporation is invested in our success.
Are there any areas Boston Technology Corporation could improve?
We've shared some constructive criticism with Boston Technology Corporation along the way at their request. We've often seen them integrate that criticism, turning it into a positive change in our relationship.

BTC developed a web-based database for the client's member accounts. Under constraints of existing XML, they also built the engine that processes the database's content.
Within 1 year, this client's member usage increased by 30–40%. BTC's work exceeded expectations, increased the usability of the site, and better connected the client's members.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are a reference and database publisher creating content in encyclopedic form, which is published as print books for the library community, including public, high school, and university libraries. We publish the same material in an online database format, which is where our work with Boston Technology Corporation started.
I am the VP of marketing for the organization. I was one of the team members involved in our online database project.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Boston Technology Corporation?
We had taken on a product line for which there was an existing relationship with a third party vendor for online database content. That vendor was a one-size-fits-all shop for online content, and it became more and more clear to us that this approach was not serving either our content or users, whether they were public library patrons, high school students, or university students. We decided to build our own platform, but we didn't have a lot of time to do it. There was a six-month window in which we had to make the decision to build our own content and get it in a customer-facing form. We were in a bit of a pickle, needing to develop the solution fast and also needing it to be fantastic since that content had been accessed by tens of thousands of users around the world for years. There couldn't be any downtime or transition problems. We needed to make the process easy for users, and not have them update their whole interface.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Boston Technology Corporation developed a web-based application serving as a database with member accounts. They also built the database engine which processes our content, which proved challenging because of the format of our old platform. We couldn't build something new and reformat tens of thousands of articles, so we worked under the constraints of the existing XML, while still creating a usable and state-of-the-art solution. The changes would have amounted to thousands of hours of work otherwise. Boston Technology Corporation took the reins for that part of the production. We had a list of wants and needs in terms of end-user functionalities, but the database engine was mostly conceived by Boston Technology Corporation.
How did you come to work with Boston Technology Corporation?
We talked to a number of people, both vendors we'd used previously and new ones. We had not worked with Boston Technology Corporation before, but it became apparent from our conversations that they were the right partner for us. It was a little scary to give the project to a new partner under such time and budget constraints, but Boston Technology Corporation met all our criteria.
We had a few brainstorming sessions with Boston Technology Corporation, during which it became apparent that they were far exceeding our expectations. The ultimate result was much better than we could have hoped for.
How much have you invested with Boston Technology Corporation?
I can't provide an exact figure, but it was a huge project for us, requiring a considerable amount of work on both our parts.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Boston Technology Corporation in 2014. The project needed to be taken from brainstorming to launch in less than six months. Boston Technology Corporation mentioned that this work would normally take a year.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?
Not only did Boston Technology Corporation meet all of our deadlines and transition challenges with no issues whatsoever, but we ultimately ended up with a better product because of their participation.
What we were watching for after the product launch was its impact on our usage. We had existing customers and end users on the old platform, and needed to find out how the new one would perform. In the first year, our usage increased by 30–40%, which was much more than what we hoped for. It spoke volumes for the usability of the site, its ease of access, and ability to keep people connected.
How did Boston Technology Corporation perform from a project management standpoint?
The deadline was of critical importance. We couldn't even have a one-week window without user access to the content. All along the project, there were specific touch points listed by Boston Technology Corporation. They made sure that there were no hiccups along the road. We did have some unplanned modifications along the way, but Boston Technology Corporation took all of them in stride and still delivered on time.
The beginning of our project involved a lot of careful planning. We had several meetings for determining what the site would look like conceptually, and what users would experience as they were logging in, searching for content, and so on. The care that Boston Technology Corporation took during initial conversations for mapping out what our product would be, did two things: it made us think about areas we hadn't planned for and ironed out bumps in the road, which we never had to deal with. There was never an instance of finding an issue halfway through and wasting work.
We've used a communication portal which allowed all of our team members to see comments from Boston Technology Corporation. This kept the work organized and provided a seamless channel between their project manager and the rest of the team. This was especially important to have when working with a team located hours away.
What did you find most impressive about Boston Technology Corporation?
I appreciated Boston Technology Corporation's capacity to assign extra people on a job. We've worked with a project manager for the most part, who answered our questions and acted as a point of contact, but Boston Technology Corporation had a big team which ensured that we could get the job done in time. We would never have been able to do the same work in six months had we used a smaller group.
Boston Technology Corporation also provided good direction in terms of how certain specific details needed to look like, in terms of new browsers, mobile access, and making sure that what we were doing would work in all user environments.
Are there any areas Boston Technology Corporation could improve?
Most of the changes which we requested throughout the process came from our team's vision. This can be hard to plan for in terms of technology, but Boston Technology Corporation never gave us grief in these situations.
Communication was one of our early concerns. We didn't know if we would be able to reach people, or what would happen if we needed to give some directions late at night. Boston Technology Corporation did an excellent job of addressing this.

Boston Technology Corporation developed an iOS app to connect farmers with wholesale buyers. Key features included admin panels and two user profile types. BTC won the competitive contract with their pricing.
The app is very user-friendly and has fundamentally changed the farmer-wholesaler relationship. Although BTC is unfamiliar with the food industry, they are a responsive and friendly development partner. They always look for ways to improve the product.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this
client over the phone. Below is an edited
transcript.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your organization.
We are a food distributor. We directly connect farmers with wholesale buyers.
What is your position?
I'm a cofounder.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What business challenge were you trying to address with Boston Technology Corporation?
We are a startup company and we knew that technology was changing every industry and, as we are revamping the food distribution industry, we knew technology was a big part of that, and that's why we needed BTC.
SOLUTION
Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.
They developed a B2B [business-to-business] user app for us. The app also has administration sides to it as well as a website administrational tool. The app is available only on iOS.
How did you come to work with Boston Technology Corporation?
We vetted more than 50 development companies worldwide. We chose BTC for several reasons. We wanted to go with a company that was based in the United States even though BTC does development overseas. Cost was definitely a factor. They were on the more competitive side as far as their pricing. Knowing that they've been around for some time and that we'd have a development team to count on going into the future was also a big factor. We wanted to feel comfortable with the company because we knew that we would continue to grow and develop the app and our technology needs onward.
Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?
Our project was in the $50,000 to $100,000
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?
Our success is measured in the amount of business that we've done with the product. The app has three different user types, but one is a private administrative user type. On the two public user types that we have, we get a lot of feedback from both sides that it's very comfortable and user-friendly. One type for farmers is an invite user type where we reach out to have the farmers come on to the platform. All of them have been very pleased with the ease of the use of the app. On the buyer side, it is an open download invitation. We have more than 400 users on the buyer side. Again, we get feedback that it's very user-friendly and has changed the way users submitted orders to their food distributors.
What distinguishes Boston Technology Corporation from other providers?
Boston Technology Corporation's immediacy of response is impeccable. Whenever we have any issues, and I contact them, I have someone reaching back usually within the hour. That is a huge need for us because our entire business is built around this app. They're very comfortable to work with. I can openly talk to them about our needs. They're very responsive, and they collaborate with us. They ask what we need and then build from there.
Is there anything Boston Technology Corporation could have improved or done differently?
Not really. There's a little bit of an obstacle describing our business but that would happen with any partner I think. Our app is very specific to the food distribution industry. The developers don't know a lot about the food distribution industry. Our ideas and what we needed to do are very foreign concepts to them. But, we're specialists and they're specialists in what they do. That could change. I'm sure they get clients in every industry. They can't become specialists in every single industry. Maybe bring a consultant in whenever they have a project in a certain industry that can bridge the gap between the customer needs and what they understand as developers.
