Selden is an effective project manager. We met virtually 1-2 times per week and messaged on slack everyday. All items were delivered on time with room to make final touches with no cost overruns.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Selden knows a lot about product and the app consumer app business. He was a business consultant along with project managing the app development. What was unique was that Selden gave me a lot of exposure to the engineers and allowed me to help in the project management. Other companies I've worked with haven't liked to let the client be this involved. It's important to note that this involvement was not a requirement from me. Selden and Blupalms could have handled everything but I wanted to be involved and gain experience in these areas.

Nothing that comes to mind. I've had an overwhelmingly positive experience.

BluPalms designed and developed our entire UI/UX and tech stack. This included creating the designs for our mobile application and website in Figma, launching our website, and building and releasing our mobile app on iPhone and Android.

We have been extremely impressed with the speed and quality of work done by BluPalms. The BluPalms team took complete charge of the full design and software development cycle required to build a mobile app from scratch. 

• UI/UX design for the entire mobile app, a proprietary strategy puzzle game with complex game mechanics.
• Software development building the app's tech stack in React Native and NodeJS.
• Launching, scaling, and maintaining the app on iOS and Android for tens of thousands of active users.
• Designing and launching our company's landing page on web.   

BluPalms not only created our app from the ground-up, but did so in a thoughtful and durable way which allowed the platform to reliably scale to tens of thousands of users without sacrificing performance. Our app reached #6 in the App Store its first weekend live and did not have any issues despite onboarding thousands of users concurrently.

The team has taken great ownership over their work and the product we built together. I've engaged with other third parties where the work being done feels transactional, with the team's primary goal to check the box and cash a check. That is NOT the case with BluPalms. They take great pride in doing work the right way, putting a huge emphasis on quality and working tirelessly to deliver a product that exceeds expectations.

Unexpected challenges are inevitable in any major software developement project. That said, any minor issues we did run into throughout the process were clearly communicated and quickly addressed by the BluPalms team.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The BluPalms team set out trackable milestones to my expectations with their deliverables. Firstly the UX/UI design was tracked over the course of a few months with iterations completed on time in accordance to our plan.

Once MVP development was complete I was more than satisfied with the outcome and decided to stay with the team for the web development process. We decided upon 6 milestones that the team was expected to deliver for the development of the live platform. Every milestone was achieved on time and above expectation.

The team, particularly Selden and Brian, exceeded my expectations in every aspect of the project.

Selden demonstrated exceptional skill in UX/UI design. Selden's ability to incorporate feedback and iterate quickly was impressive, ensuring that the final product aligned perfectly with our vision.

Progress was demonstrated initially through project management software and weekly updates on what coding was developed. In later stages, progress could be demonstrated through changes in the app itself.

This project was delayed by administrative issues on my end. Blupalms actually went out of their way to find creative solutions to move the project forward and work around our administrative issues. They were able to beat most of their own timelines to deliver ahead of schedule. When we had had concerns or requested changes, they were usually addressed within hours.

From the first meeting, he makes sure he has an excellent understanding of your vision and then maintains communication and provides updates regularly. His portfolio initially led me to meet with him, but his work for me has far exceeded every expectation. 

After seeing the quality of his work and working closely with him over the past few months, I wouldn’t trust anyone else to touch this work except for Selden and his development team. He has literally taken my vision and built the app into more than I could have ever imagined.

Seriously, as someone who has taken a leap of faith and invested their life’s savings to build their dream company, don’t trust anyone else to build and design your mobile or web app. Listen to their advice and seriously consider any suggestions he offers.

They schedule a regular cadence to meet with their clients, which helps with transparency and visibibility to the project. There were no delays and needs were discussed and addressed. I couldn't have asked for a better team.

I really appreciated the transparency. They aren't trying to nickel and dime you or overcharge (as that was done with the prior development team). Also, you have a partner in the process, not just someone to agree with everything you want to build. If anything, the founder has been our most valuable asset. He's always willing to listen to your ideas and debate them. I appreciate the fact that this team really cares about the success of your app and will make sure you prioritize things in your best interest.

Continue with the openness and transparency with clients. If ideas don't bring value/impact, then push back. I think that is what makes this company so valuable.

We’ve been working with two teammates from Blupalms.

I found them through Upwork. Initially, I went with a company in India, but for several reasons, I came back to Selden. He’s always been honest, smart, and a good guy, which has made it easier to work with him.

We started working together in February 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My app is doing very well, with over 1,000 downloads in the first month, which has exceeded my expectations. People love the app, and we haven’t started charging yet. Users have praised the app’s amazing, clean design and well-done development.
